In our third interview with Alaya, we dive more deeply into the difference of the apparent functioning from separation or the opening and yes into what is always here. Join us for a Satsang, (truth gathering), with Alaya.  Presence heals all suffering. Satsang invites us to meet what is here so deeply that nothing is left to keep us apart. With inquiry and tenderness, with curiosity and truth, and with your deepest prayer we find what is real. Our natural ground of being is calling us into this moment to heal, to end separation, calling you home.Alaya's invitation is to meet what is here so deeply that separation cannot be maintained. When separation falls away, what remains is our true nature: open, loving, and free. But first we are invited to meet what is here, whatever it is.“You are my very Self; your suffering is my suffering. We are the same.Your awakening is my awakening; I am at your feet. Our deepest desire is truth, and I can only bow to that. How may I be of service to you, my Beloved?” - AlayaAlaya lives in Asheville, NC with her husband and two daughters. Being raised in the Church of the Science of Mind, Devavani  had a wonderful foundation of spirituality from a young age. Changing their name to Center for Spiritual Living and based on the writings of Earnest Holmes who had studied the many religions of the world, Holmes found the common thread that "as a man thinketh, so is his life."  As a working mother going to school at night, Devavani recommitted to her church and eventually became the Music Director at a prominent church in San Diego and so began her music ministry for the next 17 years. In the 60's Devavani had a teenage pregnancy and got thrown into adulthood, got married and stayed married for many years. Listen to her journey of re-awakening in the third, 3rd of her life. Devavani is a gifted singer, recording artist, composer, poet and teacher.  Mother and grandmother of two beautiful daughters and three grandbabies, she has shapeshifted her life for nearly seven decades around the needs of family, her passion for teaching, and her present soul-work of listening to the voice of her muse. If you asked, she would say her greatest talent has been  taking leaps in life, finetuning the art of courageous change. After decades of raising family, teaching and performing in San Diego, she now spends her days quietly writing, singing and gardening on the tiny island of Guam with her little dog Scout and her loving wife Donna.DevaVani Vocal Arts on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DevavaniVoiceJourneysON LEAVING by DevaVaniI left the horse life, the church life, the teaching life, the married life.Left home, left my town, my country, community and friends.Pulled up roots gently.Walked away from the familiar, the beloved, the history of my past. From childhood haunts. From place, people, things. From trainings and degrees, performance stages, classrooms, and houses.Freed myself from expectation and predictability, watched layers of conditioning and tradition melt.Dropped the burden of my responsibility to others to answer the whispered sighs of my own heart asking, “If not now, then when?”Answered with gratitude and goodbyes. Farewell desert mountains, and soft California beaches. Farewell tribe…until we meet again.Nothing is wrong. I love you.Gazing ahead into the unseen Unknown, I felt her breathing. Closed my eyes and felt the Stillness beckoning.Listened to the hush of waves moving and gates swinging open.Followed that secret sound until Time chose my moment…And I leapt.~ Devavani, 2021“There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and  as there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique.  If you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how it compares with another's expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to stay open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open. No artist is pleased. There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching and makes us more alive...”-  Martha GrahamFind Sean and Corrine on Social Media:IG: Corrine Champigny, TurningPoints_Podcast, theseanronFB: Corrine Champigny, Turning Points PodcastYouTube: Corrine Champigny, Turning Points PodcastWebsites: www.blissed.com, www.theivyhouse.org, www.globalwatchfoundationchildrenshome.org

Katherine has been listening to her dreams and using them to guide her life for most of her life. Yet it wasn't until her appendix ruptured that she started to pay more attention and her life began to transform. A message from Katherine:I am Katherine Bell of Experiential Dreamwork. About two years ago I had a dream of zebras: a simple image of striped backs with frisky foals all around me. When I felt into this dream moment I realized that I was one of the herd! This powerful, untamed community of fierce family had recognized me as one of their own. This dream was an initiation into a waking life reality where I felt deeply supported and loved for the first time in my life, a sense of true belonging… and I wish the same for you!A group of zebras is called a dazzle. Today the dazzle of my life is my community of dream friends. We don't all do the same practices. Some are clients, some mentors, some participants in my public events, some are fellow travelers on parallel paths. Some live close by and some are on the other side of the world. One rainy autumn day, with the help of mother nature's substance, I had an extraordinary experience. That night my entire view of reality fell away.I was sitting in a candlelit room on my sofa, with eyes wide open, with no thoughts coming, just being. It felt so light and free, delicious, peaceful, and blissful. That night I experienced stillness of the thinking mind that I never thought was possible. Being in that state felt like home, very natural. No worries, no memories, no fantasies, only peaceful stillness, and clarity of being. Once the experience wore off, days later, I knew I had to find home again. But God had other plans, and worldly obligations kept him in the world to walk the path of a householder yogi. Zachary has spent the last ten years studying the perennial non-dual wisdom tradition and cultivating his initial awakening through the practice of Kriya Yoga, a comprehensive path of self and god realization popularized in the west by Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. While walking the path of a devoted spiritual seeker, Zachary has built a successful legal career and served in many leadership roles in his community and profession. After a profound trip to India with Deepak Chopra where Brent found himself praying to be guided to his dharma, his life purpose, Deepak asked Brent to represent the Chopra Center in Vedic Astrology.  Having a masters degree in psychology, Brent treats his readings like a therapy session. A wonderful story about following the twists and turns of life and finding a meaningful place in the world. Having a deeply spiritual mother, Brent always had a sense there was something bigger going on and was curious about where his prayers would go.  By the time he was a teenager, Brent was no longer resonating with his Catholic upbringing and found some Edgar Casey books that spoke to me and became a yoga teacher in his 20's. After moving to Boulder, Brent found Swami Satchitananda and eventually Transcendental Meditation.  Brent recounts the story of working with Deepak Chopra  in the early days in Boston and eventually helping open the Chopra Center in San Diego in 1993. Deepak was a rising star back then  and shares the story of how Deepak first met Maharishi  and how he was being groomed to be the spokesperson for the TM Organization. After being interviewed by Oprah for his book Perfect Health, he was launched into the public eye. An avid 20 year interest in astrology, Brent was blown away when he found Vedic Astrology which is  much more specific then the western astrology we are more familiar with. Vedic astrology is based on  a different constellation, the one that astronomers use. He shares that Western astrology is not accurate to the observable constellation.  With a passion for Vedic Astrology Brent is available for readings. Check out his website below. Mr. BecVar has practiced astrology and counseling over the past 35 years, and has studied with respected teachers in this country and in India. He has worked directly with Dr. Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Center for Well Being as an administrator, teacher and therapist for over 30 years, is trained as a psychotherapist, certified yoga/ meditation instructor, Ayurvedic educator and a longstanding member of the American Council of Vedic Astrologers. Jyotish consultations last one hour and may be conducted in person but are typically given over Zoom.us, a free video conference platform. Singer/songwriter Scott Krueger was somewhat of a  rebel and knew he wasn't designed for the normal human experience. He wanted to be on a skate board or snow board and listen to punk music and resist any type of authority.  As fast as he could go, he wanted to get out of the small town in Wisconsin where he was raised. Scottie was looking for an unorthodox method to leave his home town. Starting to feel pressure from his family to go to a trade school,  he made it through the intro on orientation day and walked out, knowing that was not his destiny. Once Scottie found the guitar, he became obsessed. Through friends, Scottie was introduced to Jake who was a musician with connections to Nashville which ended up being Sean Truskowski, our co-host here on Turning Points. The feeling of deciding to go to Nashville is still a visceral memory for Scottie and once he got a taste he was hooked and wanted to stay and become worthy to record and live in music city. Scottie and Sean became fast friends and they decided to pursue writing and recording together and the band Elliot Root was born. With more then a million listeners on Spotify, the band Elliot Root became a success. We discuss Scottie's creative process which is basically no process. As long as he doesn't name the spontaneity of the moment, he can stay in that. If he tries to lock creativity in, it is gone like a wisp of smoke. This then is key to living a creative life, being open to the beauty of the unfolding rather then trying to grasp or put it in a box or label it. Scottie is the most spiritual, un-spiritual person and it was a joy to hear his story. Instagram: @elliotrootFacebook: Elliot Root

Brian Hilliard has lived an extraordinary life. He was a pro athlete in several sports, a successful business man, had close friendships with  Deepak Chopra,  Osho, the hugging Saint Ammachi and Bob Marley.  From a deep immersion into the martial arts to many kinds of meditation, successful business man Brian finally left the business world to spend more time on the streets with his friends, the homeless. At four years of age he heard a clear voice telling him to listen to his heart, trust yourself and to trust God. Even as a young man, the unseen was always more important to Brian as he was learning to become a human-being and cultivate being-ness rather than a human doing. This was nourished and supported by his Mom who they called the Buddha Mom.Brian is the love guy and lives by ‘love is compassion in action,' gravitating to the work of Dr. Rupert Sheldrake and the HeartMath Institute that promotes, studies and teaches emotional intelligence.  Brian says we have to get out of the caves and run out of the temples, churches and synagogues. Whatever we are downloading and experiencing in those sacred buildings, we have to share it with the world and engage in our own expression.  We discuss the difference between trauma versus expansion. Being a seeker is like a pull, you are being pulled into a portal of information and energy. The esoteric teachings refer to it as silent knowledge. The final story Brian shares is an intense ten year health crisis he calls an odyssey where he was brought to his knees and at deaths door.  He continues even now to recalibrate his physical body. Brian's breath work and love from and to his beloved wife Arielle Ford brought him back to life.“I've always been looking for the thread that tugs on our humanity and that's being a seeker really.” - Brian HilliardI have been a seeker, and I still am, but I stopped getting downloads from books and the stars and I learned to listen to the teachings of my soul and my heart. -RumiSelf realization is the knowing in the body, mind and soul that we are one with the omnipresence of God. That we don't have to pray, it comes to us. That we are not merely near it at all times, but that God's omnipresence is our omnipresence. Painfully shy even as a young adult, Don learned how to give top secret briefings in the dark after joining the army which gave him an ability to speak in front of people.  Quitting Princeton was the first time that Don felt like he had made his own decision and not gone along with what was expected of him. It was a search for what gave meaning to his life more so than a spiritual journey that propelled him to travel through Asia after his stint in  the army. For the next twenty years Don worked in the business world getting his civil engineering license. It wasn't until reading ‘The Power of Now,' by Eckhart Tolle that Don started to redirect his attention to the inward journey. Attending many retreats with Eckhart for the next five years, Don shares more turning points on his awakening journey which includes finding his next teacher Adyashanti. Former monk Tom Kelly always knew that God was the answer but his Catholic upbringing did not really satisfy his deepest questions. It wasn't until he was in College that he was introduced to the spiritual classic book, “Autobiography of a Yogi,” where he found a deep recognition of truth. He felt a profound calling to learn more about SRF, (the Self Realization Fellowship founded by Paramahansa Yogananda), and enter the monastery. Tom shares that not getting what he wanted was such a wonderful grace. He knew that he needed to enter the monastery to do some deep soul searching as he knew none of the answers were in the normal human world. Sean wants to dive deeper into Tom's struggles and the darkness that shrouded him within two days of entering the monastery. He further shares the inner demons and strong ego resistance that started to attack his psyche. His mantra/prayer daily was “Lord help me to do what I must do,” as he cried himself to sleep nightly. Yet Tom knew that he had to face it all and felt he worked through many lifetimes of depression. He had taken a vow of celibacy and found himself devoting himself to the Divine Mother just like a baby. Tom's major in College was religious studies and he discusses the difference between the eastern and western approaches to religion. How we are going to relate to consciousness or love, to the invisible, the non-physical reality is a process of discovery that is within each of us. Tom eloquently shares his profound knowingness and just listening to him, one just melts into the essence of love. Even to this day Tom shares that he is constantly having turning points daily with a choice to turn to the divine in every moment. His candid heartfelt story is a wonderful journey of courage and love.  “Pain is your greatest prod to your remembrance of God.”  - YoganandaMotivational Speaker and Life Coachhttps://loveforcerevolution.com/Book recommendation: Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda)
