Clarity isn't about having all the answers; it's about finally hearing the truth that's been waiting inside you. What if the fog you keep running into isn't a barrier, but an invitation? In this episode, Nesha Pai sits down with Emily Paul, the founder of Aum Holistic Healing Arts, to talk about what it really means to come home to yourself. Through her work rooted in Daoism, alchemy, and intuitive guidance, Emily helps people reconnect with their purpose, not by chasing something outside themselves, but by learning to listen inward. Nesha and Emily discuss how clarity often arrives quietly, after we've started shedding old stories and tuning into the parts of ourselves we've been taught to ignore. Emily shares how her approach, including the Nine Palaces of Daoist alchemy, offers a structure for understanding the different areas of life like health, wealth, creativity, wisdom, and how they can work together to bring us into alignment. This episode reminds us that clarity grows when we pause long enough to ask better questions and stay open to what rises up. Dear friends,I've been feeling deeply called to dive into the question: What does awakening really mean? What does it mean to truly wake up in our lives? It's a journey that calls to us in unique ways—through the challenges we face, the quiet moments of self-reflection, and the times we question our own path. So, what does awakening look like? For some, it's a shift from the familiar routine to something that feels aligned with their heart. For others, it's the experience of loss or unexpected life events that push us to see life through a new lens. However it unfolds, awakening is deeply personal and beautifully unique. It's a process of rediscovering and celebrating our true selves. In moments of reflection, we reconnect with our essence—our true nature. We're reminded that we are part of a cycle, just like the seasons. Awakening means embracing the highs, the lows, and the inner callings that make us who we are. It's about honoring our uniqueness, learning to listen, and trusting the music within. No matter where you are in your journey, know that you're not alone. Many of us are waking up to our own truths, unlearning what no longer serves us, and leaning into what feels real. I'm grateful to be on this journey with you, and I hope today's message reminds you of the beauty of your own path.Enjoy listening to this episode or watch it on YouTube. In this episode, we dive into:* Recognizing signs of awakening in your life.* The role of challenges and life shifts in awakening.* Learning to connect with and trust your true nature.* Embracing change as a catalyst for growth and authenticity.* Why we need community and a sense of belonging in these times.Join me in this episode as we explore what it means to wake up and live from a place of inner alignment, authenticity, and self-compassion. Often we go through life events without realizing how much our mind and body has changed because of the negative impact this experience had on us. Examples include the death of someone you love, a car crash, job loss or a natural disaster that can severely make you feel hurt or unsafe. These traumatic events can influence how you go through other changes like the major transition into retirement. Since the recovery process can be overlooked when the occurrence happened, to create a lasting change for the next chapter can cause anxiety, low self esteem or health problems. My guest on today's podcast has worked with hundreds of trauma survivors as a Grief and Trauma Relief Specialist. She supports women in grief due to trauma so that they can stop suffering and be able to more easily navigate their healing process. In this episode she shares her 5 steps to overcome trauma and deepen your understanding the negative emotions. When you listen to our conversation you are in for a real treat to hear her gentle and empowering insights to move on with many effective tools and examples on what to do to get out of being “stuck”. Her message is one of hope. And that there is a way out to the other side. Join me on this podcast and have pen and paper ready to take notes. #209 In this episode, I'll have a chat with author, speaker, and leading thinker in consciousness and contemporary spirituality, Peter Russell. With all the misunderstandings in the world of the word “Consciousness” and how to really “Let go”, Peter says that the way we view the two is all wrong. According to him, we don't let go of people or things, but our attachment to them - the way we see them. So when we let go, we are actually letting go of nothing. He believes the most critical challenge we face today is to free human thinking from the limited beliefs and attitudes that lie behind so many of our personal, social and global problems. Join us as we venture into what being conscious really means, the how of letting-go, and how it can open into an uncomplicated relationship to what is right now, dissolving whatever gets in the way of us showing up fully, sanely, and gratefully. Peter and I will also consider together how wonder releases tension in the mind, how gratitude releases tension in the heart, and how a radical practice of letting go, releases the whole being into its true nature - beneath and beyond even our humanity. At the end of this episode, you will have learned with great clarity and depth how you can move your life into greater alignment. Enjoy. About Peter: Peter Russell is on the faculty of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, a fellow of The World Business Academy and The Findhorn Foundation, and an Honorary Member of The Club of Budapest. At Cambridge University (UK), he studied mathematics and theoretical physics. Then, as he became increasingly fascinated by the mysteries of the human mind, he changed to experimental psychology. Pursuing this interest, he traveled to India to study meditation and eastern philosophy, and on his return took up the first research post ever offered in Britain on the psychology of meditation. He also has a postgraduate degree in computer science, and conducted some of the early work on 3-dimensional displays, presaging by some twenty years the advent of virtual reality. In the 1970s, he was one of the first people to introduce human potential seminars into the corporate field, and for twenty years ran programs for senior management on creativity, stress management, personal development, and sustainable development. Clients have included IBM, Apple, Digital, American Express, Barclays Bank, Swedish Telecom, ICI, Shell Oil and British Petroleum. In 1982 he coined the term "Global Brain" with his 1980s bestseller of the same name in which he predicted the Internet and the impact it would have. His latest book, “Letting Go of Nothing: Relax Your Mind and Discover the Wonder of Your True Nature” was published on August 8, 2021. His other books include: The TM Technique, The Upanishads, The Brain Book, The Creative Manager, The Consciousness Revolution, Waking Up in Time, The Global Brain / The Awakening Earth, Seeds of Awakening, and From Science to God. As one of the more revolutionary futurists Peter Russell has been a keynote speaker at many international conferences, in Europe, Japan and the USA. His multi-image shows and videos, “The Global Brain and The White Hole in Time” have won praise and prizes from around the world. In 1993, the environmental magazine Buzzworm voted Peter Russell "Eco-Philosopher Extraordinaire" of the year. His principal interest is the deeper, spiritual significance of the times we are passing through. His work seeks to distill the essence of the world's spiritual traditions and present it in ways relevant to the current times. We all have stories we acquire based on what happens to us as we live our lives. Some of us identify as mothers, fathers, artists, hustlers, hard-workers, and the list goes on. But, are those identities who we truly are? When we sit with ourselves in the present moment, is our identity our true essence, or simply an amalgamation of what happened to us in the past? To discern how we can perceive our true nature and commence on a spiritual journey, Positive Psychology Podcast Host Lisa Cypers Kamen speaks with two authors who have studied meditation and philosophy in India. Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati exchanged her Western culture for eastern philosophy. She discusses the transformational journey that came from shedding her identities and embracing forgiveness from her book, Hollywood to the Himalayas: A Journey of Healing and Transformation. Peter Russell reveals the lessons in his book, Letting Go of Nothing: Relax Your Mind and Discover the Wonder of Your True Nature and unpacks the mantra let it go and let it be.

Futurist, teacher, and author Peter Russell joins Terry in person at his home to connect more intimately and explore several profound considerations about this human miracle and our current predicament. In a previous podcast episode (February 2020), their conversation focused on an essay Peter had written called Blind Spot, in which he explores how human creativity builds on itself, leading to an exponential acceleration of complexity that he believes inevitably exceeds our capacities as a species. Then, he suggested we might be best served by a radical letting-go of our efforts to counteract that destiny. In this new episode, they venture deeper into the how of this letting-go, and how it can open into an uncomplicated relationship to what is right now, dissolving whatever gets in the way of us showing up fully, sanely, and gratefully. Peter and Terry consider together how wonder releases tension in the mind, how gratitude releases tension in the heart, and how a radical practice of letting go, releases the whole being into its true nature — beneath and beyond even our humanity. Peter Russell is a leading thinker and writer on consciousness and contemporary spirituality. He is on the faculty of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, and a fellow of The World Business Academy and The Findhorn Foundation, and an Honorary Member of The Club of Budapest. In the 1980's, Peter coined the term "global brain" with his bestseller of the same name, in which he predicted the Internet and the impact it would have on humanity. Peter has studied theoretical physics, experimental psychology, and computer science at the University of Cambridge, and meditation and Eastern Philosophy in India. He also pioneered the introduction of personal growth programs to corporations, running courses for senior management on creativity, stress management and sustainable development. We appreciated Peter's work to distill the essence of the world's spiritual wisdom and to present it in ways that speak to people in current terms. He is the author of ten books, including Waking Up in Time and From Science to God. His beautiful new book, Letting Go of Nothing: Relax Your Mind and Discover the Wonder of Your True Nature, will be published in August of 2021. Here are some of the questions that Peter and Terry explore in the episode: What is it to let go? And what exactly are we letting go of? Can waking up to the existential severity of our civilizational predicament serve as an initiatory force, drawing us into fuller presence with ourselves, each other, and reality? If we let go of the energy in us that's opposing our societal predicament, what emerges in its place? If we accept Peter's thesis that humanity's creative impulse is contributing to our inevitable collapse, how can we relate in new ways to creativity as it arises within us? How might our doing of good works in the world evolve in the future as we become more rested in Being and trusting of our inherent nature? How can we practice accepting that our conditional perspectives will inevitably keep arising but that their context is unconditional, radiant, vast, beautiful, and more primary? Singer/songwriter Scott Krueger was somewhat of a rebel and knew he wasn't designed for the normal human experience. He wanted to be on a skate board or snow board and listen to punk music and resist any type of authority. As fast as he could go, he wanted to get out of the small town in Wisconsin where he was raised. Scottie was looking for an unorthodox method to leave his home town. Starting to feel pressure from his family to go to a trade school, he made it through the intro on orientation day and walked out, knowing that was not his destiny. Once Scottie found the guitar, he became obsessed. Through friends, Scottie was introduced to Jake who was a musician with connections to Nashville which ended up being Sean Truskowski, our co-host here on Turning Points. The feeling of deciding to go to Nashville is still a visceral memory for Scottie and once he got a taste he was hooked and wanted to stay and become worthy to record and live in music city. Scottie and Sean became fast friends and they decided to pursue writing and recording together and the band Elliot Root was born. With more then a million listeners on Spotify, the band Elliot Root became a success. We discuss Scottie's creative process which is basically no process. As long as he doesn't name the spontaneity of the moment, he can stay in that. If he tries to lock creativity in, it is gone like a wisp of smoke. This then is key to living a creative life, being open to the beauty of the unfolding rather then trying to grasp or put it in a box or label it. Scottie is the most spiritual, un-spiritual person and it was a joy to hear his story. Instagram: @elliotrootFacebook: Elliot Root
Brian Hilliard has lived an extraordinary life. He was a pro athlete in several sports, a successful business man, had close friendships with Deepak Chopra, Osho, the hugging Saint Ammachi and Bob Marley. From a deep immersion into the martial arts to many kinds of meditation, successful business man Brian finally left the business world to spend more time on the streets with his friends, the homeless. At four years of age he heard a clear voice telling him to listen to his heart, trust yourself and to trust God. Even as a young man, the unseen was always more important to Brian as he was learning to become a human-being and cultivate being-ness rather than a human doing. This was nourished and supported by his Mom who they called the Buddha Mom.Brian is the love guy and lives by ‘love is compassion in action,' gravitating to the work of Dr. Rupert Sheldrake and the HeartMath Institute that promotes, studies and teaches emotional intelligence. Brian says we have to get out of the caves and run out of the temples, churches and synagogues. Whatever we are downloading and experiencing in those sacred buildings, we have to share it with the world and engage in our own expression. We discuss the difference between trauma versus expansion. Being a seeker is like a pull, you are being pulled into a portal of information and energy. The esoteric teachings refer to it as silent knowledge. The final story Brian shares is an intense ten year health crisis he calls an odyssey where he was brought to his knees and at deaths door. He continues even now to recalibrate his physical body. Brian's breath work and love from and to his beloved wife Arielle Ford brought him back to life.“I've always been looking for the thread that tugs on our humanity and that's being a seeker really.” - Brian HilliardI have been a seeker, and I still am, but I stopped getting downloads from books and the stars and I learned to listen to the teachings of my soul and my heart. -RumiSelf realization is the knowing in the body, mind and soul that we are one with the omnipresence of God. That we don't have to pray, it comes to us. That we are not merely near it at all times, but that God's omnipresence is our omnipresence. That we are just as much a part of him/her now as we will ever be. All we have to do is improve our knowing.-YoganandaStep out of the circle of time, and into the circle of love. -RumiLove is my religion - Bob Marley and Brian HilliardBrian lives with his beloved wife Arielle Ford in La Jolla, California.Netflix Documentary on Osho is called Wild Wild CountryCorrine's documentary about her kids in India is here: https: //vimeo.com/492262201/bd3188f7a8

In this Episode: You do not exist as something referred to as a person. How can something happen to something that isn’t real. This can seem all a bit too much for the mind and the person concept. Your True Nature or Awareness itself is not a concept What we are is so obvious it is overlooked. The whole concept of being a person is just that, only a concept. You are not a compilation of experiences. Wake Up. Each one of us has our own story or ego of who we believe ourselves to be. The family, social status, location, and even any health issues, is not your birthright. We are dying from overthinking. We are slowly killing ourselves by thinking about everything. Think. Think. Think. You can never trust the human mind anyway. It's a death trap." ~Sir Anthony Hopkins Episode 39 is coming to you from Kas, Turkey. Today we're talking about how to quiet that pesky voice in your head that over thinks and over analyzes everything. Boy is this a problem with us and everyone we know. We used to do it all the time in our relationship (why did he do that? is she mad at me? what does that mean?), and now we only do it half the time. Progress! Dr. Amy Johnson joins us again to share insights from her new book, Being Human: Essays on Thoughtmares, Bouncing Back, and Your True Nature, which is available now on Amazon or at her website at DrAmyJohnson.com. She'll tell us why we're all over-thinking (ahem, because we're human!) and how to clear our minds as easily as we breathe. She also enlightens us on "thoughtmares," and how to dismiss them as quickly as we do nightmares. This is a powerful episode for anyone who overthinks, overanalyzes, or just can't let go of certain thoughts. (And that pretty much includes everyone, we think. Isn't it nice to know you're not alone?)
