“Hold on to your hats, folks, Chris Cabin likes this movie!” - Eric On this week's episode, we're going back to The Prequels on the Summer Blockbuster Extravaganza to do a proper episode on Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith! How great is that Count Dooku exit at the beginning? How catty are all the sarcastic Battle Droids? Does this movie have the best-looking space battles in all the prequels? How funny is R2 lighting those guys on fire after whizzing oil all over them? And, yeah, that Vader shout at the end of the movie is still one of the most unintentionally hilarious moments in all of Star Wars! PLUS: Palpatine blurs out his Zoom background when making secret calls from the toilet! Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christian, Natalie Portman, Ian McDiarmid, Jimmy Smits, Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Daniels, Christopher Lee, Bruce Spence, Silas Carson, Temuera Morrison, Kenny Baker, and Frank Oz as the voice of Yoda; directed by George Lucas. Welcome to Databank Brawl Rewind! Databank Brawl was a series that ran on ForceCenter from 2016 to 2020 and it remains one of our more beloved shows. Though Databank Brawl is on hiatus, we wanted to celebrate it along with the longtime listeners of the podcast and reintroduce it to the ForceCenter listeners who began listening to the podcast after the end of the show's run. Though all of the episodes remain on our podcast feed it can be daunting to scroll back and find them, so we're launching Databank Rewind. Here's your chance to go back to those episodes week-by-week and laugh with us at old jokes, memorable moments, unforgettable guests, and, yeah, old microphones, recordings, and perhaps some Star Wars predictions that came true alongside many that most certainly did not. Databank Brawl -- where Star Wars characters are plucked from the entries of the StarWars.com databank and forced to fight it out in an off-the-cuff podcast moderated by Joseph Scrimshaw. It's time to fight...From the minds of Ken Napzok (comedian, host of The Napzok Files), Joseph Scrimshaw (comedian, writer, host of the Obsessed podcast), and Jennifer Landa (actress, YouTuber, crafter, contributor on StarWars.com) comes the ForceCenter Podcast Feed. The Ahsoka series is in full swing on Disney+, but a few weeks ago we sat down and shared our thoughts and ideas on what we saw from the first 2 chapters and what we think will happen next. Were we as clairvoyant as a Nightsister or as clueless as a Battle Droid? Check it out on this spoileriffic episode of 3 Sheets to the Mouse!
After Order 66, the Separatist droids were no longer used by the Empire like they were during The Clone Wars. What did Palpatine do with them once Vader turned and joined him in ruling the galaxy? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

During the Clone Wars, B1 Battle droids were abundant, but the superior version of them, BX Battle Droids, were lethal against Clone Troopers. Could we see them in The Mandalorian in a flashback to The Clone Wars? I would love to see them in live action with their immense speed as they run down Clones, or, get beaten by them. In Star Wars why were Battle Droids so stupid? In such a time of advanced technologies and brilliant droids...surely they could have been smarter, don't you think? Well...there was a reason for this, too. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

B1 Battle Droids, or, Clankers, served their purpose in the Clone Wars for the Separatists. However, who was the most powerful of them? While Anakin Skywalker chopped them down with his lightsaber like they were nothing, they did make for formidable opponents for the Clones Troopers. Seeing them first in The Phantom Menace, we see them up to Revenge of the Sith after Vader destroys the remaining separatist leaders on Mustafar during Order 66, deflecting a blaster bolt back on to the B1 Battle Droid, where they were put out of commission, for the Empire, for good. They were still used in the outer regions of the galaxy where the Empire's surveillance dwindled, however for the most part, they were no longer in use once Palpatine brought Storm Troopers. Mr Bones, who was as riff on HK-47, eventually came to help the good guys when he saved Poe's life, later on. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Not gonna lie. Re-watching this episode definitely made it feel more like a filler episode. You have the beautiful but, distracting Lizzo. The beautiful but distracting Jack Black. Do I love them in their respective fields? Of course I do. Why the fuck are they in a Star Wars TV show?!?!?!? It's jarring! Once again it seems like the creators are trying to pad out the run time of the series. Once they land on planet, their immediately contracted by the planetary leadership to assist with malfunctioning droids. That's right folks, deadliest warriors in the galaxy are now retiring old malfunctioning droids. The twist of course, is that many of these malfunctioning droids are BATTLE DROIDS! How irresponsible is the leadership that they'd attempt to override the design and programming of a machine designed to kill and deploy it within a civilian population. Aside from Black and Lizzo, the one actor it was cool to see on screen was Christopher Lloyd. Not because he portrayed Doc Brown in Back to the Future but, for his role as Judge Doom in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. That is my jam to this day. In the next scene we get a call back to season one and Din's encounter with the ugnaught Kuiil on Nevarro. Side note, I had no idea Nick Nolte did the voice for Kuiil. Using his prior relationship to the ugnaught, he's able to get their attention and help with tracking down the malfunctioning droids. The only interesting part about what happens next is that we get to see B1 and B2 Super Battledroids on screen for the first time since Revenge of the Sith. It does really amount to much. Of course we find out Christopher Lloyd was a former Separatist who had plans to flip the switch and cause the battledroids to turn on their masters. It would have been a much more interesting episode if we had to see Mandalorians unite and fight however many legions of Battledroids were on planet. Instead, the bad guys is quickly captured like the Scooby Doo villain he is and we get to the only important scene in the episode. In the intro, we know the remaining Mandalorian once loyal to Bo-Katan are now acting as mercenaries and privateers. In the beginning of the season we learn they all abandoned her after she came home empty handed without the Dark Saber. Now we learn what they've been up to and that they've been hired to act as protection for the planet. It's here where Bo-Katan attempts to reunite with her former clan peacefully but, of course she chooses combat supremacy for the right to control the remains of the tribe. Obviously she wins and Din Djarin confesses that he was defeated and the Dark Saber taken from him, and that Bo-Katan defeated and rescued his enemy. Thereby making Bo-Katan the rightful owner of the Dark Saber. Without any evidence and only the word of Din Djarin does her clan accept and the episode ends with Bo-Katan once again wielding the Dark Saber. I honestly don't remember my initial thoughts when I first watched this episode. All I know, is that this second go around was probably not any better than the first. Let us know what your thoughts are on the episode. Thanks for listening. -Luca Subscribe to us on YouTube Subscribe on Apple Podcasts Subscribe on Spotify Visit us on Reddit Check out the Discord Server Email us at StarWarsRewatchPodcast@gmail.com

Roger, Roger. We are going to touch on the design of the infamously clumsy battle droids of the Separatist army used during the Clone Wars. In film these droids just represent unyielding numbers but we find them much more entertaining and comedic in the animated show, The Clone Wars.
VADER GOES TO EXEGOL & RETURNS TO MUSTAFAR! This week, Mike embarks on the second volume of the 2020 Darth Vader comics; Into The Fire, where Palpatine tests Vader shortly after his failure in Empire Strikes Back, by sending him back to Mustafar to be hunted by the sith assassin; Ochi of Bestoon! In this story Vader battles many foes and even makes his way to Exegol (planet from The Rise Of Skywalker), plus Mike gives additional info on Coruscant, Mustafar, Sith homeworlds, the Eye of the Webbish Bog and more! This story is set just after Empire Strikes Back (3ABY). The writer for these comics was Greg Pak, Raffaele Ienco was the artist and Neeraj Menon was the colour artist. Issue 6 was released October 2020, Issue 11 was released April 2021 and the trade paperback collection was released June 2021. Mike tackled the first of the 2020 Vader comics in episode 79 of SWCIC, he tackled the 2017 Vader comics in ep 62 (continued in 66, 70 & 74) of SWCIC and for the 2015 Vader run (set after A New Hope), check out episodes 15, 17, 19, 23 & 29 of SWCIC, plus ep 41 features the Vader: Dark Visions anthology mini-series and ep 49 is the Target Vader mini-series. Keep an eye on Mike's other podcast; Genuine Chit-Chat where Mike recently had an hour-long conversation with Paolo Villanelli (which should be released in early November)! Check out last week's SWCIC (ep 80), where Mike embarked on the second volume of the Bounty Hunters comics; Target Valance, set shortly after the end of Empire Strikes Back! In the eighth episode of season three of Star Wars: In a Galaxy, Eli and Jacob discuss from the 30:00 to the 61:15 mark (for the last 1:15 of a chapter, just to finish) of Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003). Concept made popular by Ken Napzok of ForceCenter and Alden Diaz of Ahch-To Radio. - Mace Windu beating up battle droids with his bare hands, and the ramifications of such outlandish fighting sequences. - The similarities between Yoda's fights with chameleon droids in this sequence, and similar fights with Battle Droids on Rugosa in Season 1 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) - Anakin's crazy fight with Asajj Ventress on Yavin 4, a major moment on his path to the dark side. - One Quarter Portion Segment 7 – Star Wars Opinions (September 2020) - Best Star Wars characters that appear in multiple trilogies! - Best things about our least favorite Star Wars movies, and worst things about our favorite Star Wars movies! Help support The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast by becoming a Patron! Hosted by Remi Lavictoire, Jonathan Colbon and Mr. Blahg Get the Sci-Fi Movie Podcast Archive for 5 Bucks! This week on The Sci-Fi Movie Podcast, Jonathan and Rem close out our discussion of the Star Wars Prequels with Episode III Revenge of the Sith" from 2005 and directed by George Lucas. We're very happy to welcome back Mr. Blahg from the "Under The Comic Covers" Podcast which you'll also find on the Podcastica Network. The PositiveYes, it is darkest of the three prequels, and it really is the best. Lucas seemed to learn a few lessons from feedback on the previous two installments. This episode concludes the transition from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader, and Jonathan liked that his transition was done in a plausible and believable way. The opening sequence was quite impressive and there were a few moments of good character development. The sound and visuals were stunning, of course. Rem enjoyed how Episode 3 started to put familiar pieces in place that would make for a natural transition into Episode 4. The NegativeWhile visually stunning, the story still suffers from a poorly written script and cringe worthy dialogue, particularly with the Padme/Anakin scenes. We concluded that Darth Maul from Episode 1 should have been keep through through the prequels to be a constant and familiar threat. Also, more Christopher Lee would have been good! We'd have preferred less of the vaudevillian and virtually ineffective use of the Battle Droids. The VerdictBoth Jonathan and Mr. Blahg consider this to be essential viewing, and once you've endured Episodes 1 and 2, you'll find Episode 3 to be the best of the bunch. Listener Feedback Fox SterlingProbably the best of the prequels. They certainly went more hardcore with the spousal abuse ending and the killing of younglings. Glad to finally see Anakin became Darth Vader but not wild about that "Noooo" line reading. The Chewbacca cameo was definitely unnecessary. And how is Padme pregnant with twins? She's tiny! There's no way there are two human fetuses in there. What I'm really left wondering is how did Vader not know where Luke was since he was taken to his home planet and with his step brother? Overall a decent movie though and Ewan is again the best performance. Brian CampbellAaaaaah! That feeling of relief that it was finally over. That Anakin wasn't smart enough to realize that he was fulfilling his own prophecy, was a testament to horrible writing that was matched by the horrible dialogue. The laughter from the audience when Darth Vader screamed "Noooooooooooooo!" was the perfect punctuation to Lucas' folly. Sorry, when I think of "what could have been", I get bitter. Makes me want to find "high ground" in Episode VII. Nick JensenThe best of the prequels, but it didn't have much to compete with and had the most interesting plot waiting for it (Anakin finally turning into Darth Vader). But Lucas continues to show that he shouldn't be allowed to write dialogue and get help with his scripts, I believe he had a great vision with the first Star Wars but really gets in his own way the more he messes with the universe; none of the prequels were great and left a lot to be desired...glad he finally gave it to others to continue the universe. Is this movie, or any of the prequels, essential viewing? Nooooooooooo. I think the prequels take more away from the original trilogy than they add, the only thing I enjoyed about the prequels was the light saber fights and Ewan McGregor. Paola CatapanoBoooring, like the other prequels... fingers' crossed for the next trilogy! Michael SimshauserI went to the midnight screening of Episode III when I lived in Canberra. It was a great experience seeing it in that setting and for those of us that had grown up with Star Wars, it also had a sense of finality as well. This film was the best of the prequel trilogy as it had all the things that we wanted to see from the start of the prequels: Wookies, Order 66 and most importantly how Anakin became Darth Vader. The only parts that pulled me out the movie were when Anakin questions Mace Windu when he becomes a member of the Jedi Council but not a Jedi Master. Anyone that has seen Pulp Fiction knows better than to say "what" to Samuel L Jackson. And also what was Emperor Palpatine doing when Yoda turned up ? Paperwork. But apart from that, a great movie. Essential scifi viewing if you want to know how Darth came into being. As for my hopes for Episode VII, I simply don't want it to suck. Doug FergusonI actually really enjoy Revenge of the Sith for the most part. When I saw it in theatres and it opened with that huge space battle, I was on board. Seeing Palpatine manipulate Anakin actually works for me. Where this movie falls flat is, again, the romance between Padme and Anakin. The dialogue is brutally bad and seeing Padme, a once strong female character, be reduced to a whiny wife dependent on her clearly unstable husband was hard to watch. I would have loved to see the strength that we saw from in the first two films come out again and have her stand up to Anakin. Alas, at the end she dies from a broken heart... not as impactful as I would have hoped for her. There were some other issues... like Chewbacca being awkwardly shoehorned in and some campiness from R2, but relatively speaking, those are forgivable. Ton de WitteI liked it, a treacherous Sith master has his apprentice killed by the next apprentice. Sidious's manipulations come to full bloom and the empire is founded and along the way all opponents are eliminated. The effects were very good and the final fight between Obi Wan and Vader was awesome. Overall an enjoyable movie, required viewing. To understand this movie better watch the 2 clone wars animated movies these are a very good bridge between parts 2 and 3, and if you want more watch the clone wars series. Not long before the turn of the 20th century, a group of scientists led by Nikola Tesla are caught in a war. To one side are the carriers of a lycanthropic virus - some want a cure, but others want only to take advantage of their newfound transformations. To the other are hordes of dead soldiers reanimated by the US government. Some say it's only a matter of time before the whole thing erupts into a second Civil War.Want to find Scott online?
