Welcome to the sign of the sacred protector, the nurturer, the emotional powerhouse—Cancer Season is here. In this episode, we wade deep into the tidal waters of the zodiac's moon-ruled empath. Cancer is often misunderstood as soft or overly sensitive, but don't be fooled—this sign contains multitudes: maternal magic, emotional resilience, and a memory sharp enough to cut through bone.We explore:
Allie Trimm has been performing on Broadway since she was 13 years old, starring in Thirteen alongside Ariana Grande and now taking on her dream role as Glinda in Wicked. In this episode, Allie opens up about the pressures of child acting, learning to let go of perfectionism, and the years of preparation that led her to this moment. She shares powerful insights on what it really takes to perform at the highest level, the lessons theatre has taught her about life, and why imperfection makes her performances more human and beautiful.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
What does it really take to stay disciplined when no one is watching? How do you keep going when motivation fades, your friends are out having fun, and no one's cheering from the sidelines? In a world where young people are bombarded with distractions and the pressure of perfection on social media, how do you build a mindset strong enough to thrive — not just survive? In this episode, let's dive deep into the heart of those questions, offering a raw and inspiring look into the life of a young woman who's not only navigating the demands of collegiate athletics but using them as a powerful training ground for leadership, self-respect, and purpose.Issy is a Division I cross country and track athlete at Nicholls State University in Louisiana. But she's not just a runner—she's a leader, a role model, and a force of positive energy. From competing at a high level to mentoring high school students through Young Life, Issy embodies the values of discipline, joy, and resilience. Her story is one of quiet grit, unexpected beginnings, and a refreshing commitment to finding the fun in hard things.Whether it's wearing her “lucky socks,” leading her team through rough summer runs, or singing Ariana Grande at the start line, Issy shows that being disciplined doesn't mean being miserable—it means choosing your priorities, day after day, with purpose and joy.Quotes:"Comparison is the thief of joy, because I truly believe that it is." - Issy Rivault"There's days that I wake up and the last thing I want to do right now is go run for an hour. But having people there in the same shoes as you, and them being like, 'okay, we got this today' - that makes all the difference." - Issy Rivault"Just knowing that there's other chances to be better. Maybe today wasn't my day, but there is a next time to do better and be a better version of myself." - Issy RivaultActionable Takeaways:Create a Consistency Ritual: Develop a morning routine that prepares you mentally and physically for your goals. This could include a specific breakfast, wake-up time, or pre-activity preparation that signals your brain it's time to perform.Practice the "Fun Injection" Technique: For any repetitive task or training regimen, intentionally introduce elements of novelty and enjoyment.Develop a "Next Opportunity" Mindset: After any setback or less-than-ideal performance, immediately reframe your thinking. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, ask yourself: "What can I learn from this? How can I improve for the next opportunity?"Conclusion:Issy's journey reminds us that discipline isn't about perfection — it's about consistency, mindset, and showing up even when it's hard. Through early mornings, solo summer runs, and choosing rest over reckless hustle, she's learned that true strength comes from building habits, leaning into community, and finding joy in the process. For young leaders everywhere, her story is a powerful reminder: your habits matter more than your hype, your mindset shapes your momentum, and the small, often unseen choices you make every day are what set you apart. So — what's one area in your life where you can start showing up with more intention today?

Después, Laura Fernández inaugura su versión veraniega de My little corner of the world, una sección pensada para el disfrute pausado y curioso. Escuchar audio

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s $20 million Venetian fairytale is cracking under pressure, as guests quietly drop out, logistics falter, and furious protests erupt in the streets. Across the pond, Prince Harry’s latest olive branch to the royal family has been flatly rejected — insiders say Prince William and palace officials fear “another Oprah ambush” and simply don’t trust him anymore. With the release of her latest single, the soulful and sensualromance “You Know What It's Like,” Brenda Russell not only continues to pave the way for her highly anticipated upcoming album Songpainter – her first collection in 20 years – but also makes a triumphant return to the refined classic blend of adult contemporary R&B and urban jazz that launched and defined the trailblazing four and a half decade career of the multi-Grammy nominated singer/songwriter, Tony nominated and Grammy winning Broadway composer for The Color Purple. “You Know What It's Like” is a co-write by the singer and the legendary Roberta Flack. When people assess Brenda's overall career, her success as an artist and with The Color Purple often overshadows the gemsshe wrote that were hits for other artists. Beyond Oleta Adams' “Get Here,” Brenda's gems have been recorded by Luther Vandross (“If Only for One Night”), Donna Summer (“Dinner with Gershwin”), Babyface, The Manhattan Transfer, Patti Austin, Dionne Warwick, Mary J. Blige, Tina Turner, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan and Ramsey Lewis. Her tunes have also been sampled by everyone from Janet Jackson and 2Pace to Chance the Rapper and Ariana Grande. In addition, Brenda's co-composition with Brazilian artist Ivan Lins “She Walks This Earth” was recorded by international superstar Sting for the all-star tribute album Love Affair: The Music Of Ivan Lins. Sting's inspired performance of the uniquely beautiful song earned him a Grammy Award in 2001 for Best Pop Male Vocal Performance. Brenda was recently elected into the Female Songwriters Hall of Fame. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)

Megyn Kelly begins the show by breaking down the consequential and successful U.S. strike on Iran's nuclear sites, Iran's decades-long threat to Americans, President Trump's decision to take this action at this time, the current divide in the MAGA movement, and more. Then Victor Davis Hanson, author of "The End of Everything," joins to discuss criticism against Trump and his administration from both the far left and the MAGA right over the strikes on Iran, the hypocrisy from Democrats compared to how they reacted to Obama's actions, Trump's rational approach to foreign policy, the precision and professionalism of Trump's secret Iran nuclear mission, how the operation reflects a level of military competence rarely acknowledged, why the action doesn't constitute entering a war, and more. Then Emily Jashinsky, host of "After Party with Emily Jashinsky," joins to discuss Iran's retaliatory strikes on U.S. bases following the Trump administration mission, whether this was actually a coordinated effort to symbolically respond without escalating the conflict, the conservative and MAGA case against Trump's Iran actions, the potential the strikes have a negative affect on America and Americans abroad and domestically, Ariana Grande's social media post sharing AOC's call for Trump to be impeached, the potential for celebrities to get political in another war-like scenario, her new MK Media show launching tonight with Tucker Carlson, and more. Barbra Streisand has been a huge presence in American entertainment—music, film, and stage—for more than sixty years. She was the youngest person ever to achieve the EGOT, winning Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards by the age of twenty-seven. At eighty-three years old, Streisand is releasing a new album, “The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume 2.” It's a collection of duets featuring Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, and Seal, along with younger artists including Hozier, Sam Smith, and Ariana Grande. Streisand sat down with David Remnick to talk about the record and the history behind it. Bob Dylan, for one, apparently had a crush on the singer from afar. “We were both nineteen years old in Greenwich Village, never met each other,” Streisand says. “I remember him sending me flowers and writing me a card in different color pencils, like a child's writing, you know. And ‘Would you sing with me?' And I thought, What would I sing with him?” Streisand talks with Remnick about her complicated childhood with her mother, who was jealous of her talent; her dislike of live performance; and the classy way to rebuff a come-on from Marlon Brando.
