Nutrition Nugget! Bite-sized bonus episodes offer tips, tricks and approachable science. This week, Jenn is talking about three decisions that will determine the next decade of your life. It sounds dramatic, right? But what if the decisions you make about the people you're spending time with, the content you're consuming, and the things you're actively building (or not building) are quietly shaping your future in ways you haven't considered? Jenn shares surprising research about how behaviors can spread through social networks like a contagious disease. So should you be evaluating your friendships with the same scrutiny you'd use for a romantic partner? And when it comes to what you're learning and building, are you making conscious choices or just going through the motions? Is there actually science behind the idea that your income reflects the five people you spend the most time with, and if so, what else might be true? Jenn breaks down these three critical decision points and challenges you to get intentional about where you want to be in 2036. Like what you're hearing? "Build the body, not the ego" is the central theme of this week's message on 1 Corinthians 14, serving as the practical application of spiritual gifts through the lens of love. Paul is addressing the chaos and disorder in the Corinthian church's public gatherings. The sermon compares prophecy, which builds up the church in a common language, to tongues, which are personal and often unintelligible without an interpreter. Gifts are given for clarity and edification, not confusion or boasting. We'll explore Paul's call for order, including rules for speaking in tongues and dealing with disruptive voices. Ultimately, the goal is maturity, self-control, and using our gifts in love for tangible, compassionate action.

We're still revisiting fundamentals and this week we're asking: Is your emergency fund actually an emergency fund, or just a well-intentioned savings account collecting dust (and maybe a tiny bit of interest)? In this episode, we unpack the truth about financial emergencies and reveal the flawed logic behind the old ‘3-months of expenses' rule. Let's be honest, climate change, unexpected job losses, and ridiculously high repair costs have made the classic “cash only” emergency fund advice obsolete. We talk about building a real safety net, one that's flexible, accessible, and addresses everything from the cost of repairs to those unexpected crises that inevitably spring up in lifeBuilding an emergency fund isn't about striving for perfection; it's about protecting what matters most. We'll provide practical tips, address common anxieties, and leave you with a renewed sense of preparedness – all without losing your mind (or your savings). We discuss:The Illusion of the "Checked Box": Why the standard 3-6 month emergency fund is inadequate for the unpredictable realities of 21st-century life The importance of liquidity and accessibility: It's not enough to have the money, you need to be able to access it quickly and easily. We'll dissect the hidden fees and frustrating bureaucratic hurdles that can turn your carefully-saved emergency fund into a useless paperweightMore than just cash: We discuss the overlooked role of insurance, lines of credit, and community resources in weathering life's storms. This isn't just about finances; it's about creating a comprehensive plan that addresses all dimensions of an emergencyThe Multi-Layered Approach: Why cash is still surprisingly relevant, even in a cashless society.Real-life examples that illustrate why diversifying your financial institutions is no longer a "luxury" but a necessityThe Rebuilding Phase: A practical plan for rebuilding your emergency fund in the wake of a crisis.
