Conscious Fertility
Using Lucid Dreaming to Manifest Your Reality with Robert Waggoner

Conscious Fertility

Play Episode Listen Later May 12, 2025 51:24

Lucid dreaming is one of life's mysteries that we have slowly been unraveling over the past several decades. It wasn't until the 1980's that we had scientific evidence that it was even possible, despite people having this ability for as long as humans have been around. Now, we're able to point to lucid dreaming as a way to not only access the subconscious mind, but bring it into the conscious, and even change our waking reality. Robert Waggoner has been lucid dreaming since before there was evidence of it. In his book, Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self, he writes about how lucid dreaming can be another gateway to tap into consciousness and find peace of mind. In this episode, he talks about how lucid dreaming can be used for creativity, physical and mental healing, learning ourselves more deeply, and even manifesting our deepest desires. He explains how this could be applied to the fertility journey as a way to improve our physical and mental health and do inner healing that can be reflected into our outer world. If you've ever been curious about lucid dreaming or want to try it yourself, hearing Robert's experiences and guidance in this episode is the perfect place to start. Key Topics/Takeaways: Robert's introduction to lucid dreaming as a child [1:50] Why lucid dreaming isn't just for entertainment [6:23] The awareness behind the dream [13:05] Dreams as a communication pathway with your unborn child [19:25] Surrendering to lucid dreams [23:47] How Robert's view of the world has changed since lucid dreaming [28:42] Manifesting physical healing in dreams [31:28] Preparing yourself for lucid dreaming [37:01] Speaking to your unconscious mind [39:33] Manifesting your desires with neutral beliefs [43:59] About Robert Waggoner: Robert Waggoner wrote the acclaimed book, Lucid Dreaming – Gateway to the Inner Self, and co-authored Lucid Dreaming Plain and Simple with Caroline McCready. A past President of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), Waggoner serves as co-editor of the online magazine, The Lucid Dreaming Experience, the only ongoing publication devoted specifically to lucid dreaming. A lucid dreamer since 1975, he has logged more than 1,000 lucid dreams. Conscious Fertility

Key Topics/Takeaways: Robert's introduction to lucid dreaming as a child [1:50] Why lucid dreaming isn't just for entertainment [6:23] The awareness behind the dream [13:05] Dreams as a communication pathway with your unborn child [19:25] Surrendering to lucid dreams [23:47] How Robert's view of the world has changed since lucid dreaming [28:42] Manifesting physical healing in dreams [31:28] Preparing yourself for lucid dreaming [37:01] Speaking to your unconscious mind [39:33] Manifesting your desires with neutral beliefs [43:59]   About Robert Waggoner: Robert Waggoner wrote the acclaimed book, Lucid Dreaming – Gateway to the Inner Self, and co-authored Lucid Dreaming Plain and Simple with Caroline McCready.A past President of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD), Waggoner serves as co-editor of the online magazine, The Lucid Dreaming Experience, the only ongoing publication devoted specifically to lucid dreaming. A lucid dreamer since 1975, he has logged more than 1,000 lucid dreams. Our guest says that she likes to view dreamwork as a kind of puzzle where the goal is to decode what waking life situation the dream is referring to. Layne describes and gives examples for her six point method of dream entry. The points of entry are feelings, plot, word play, symbols, repetition and action: what is the dreamer doing in the dream. Layne works with one of Katherine's dreams in which she poops more even though in the dream she said she has already had a bowel movement. Under Layne's guidance, Katherine realizes that there is more to say to herself around her feelings of shame around liking to be in control. We take a call from Paula who asks What is the use of old dreams? She shares an old dream that she was curious about in which there are alligators next to her RV. Wow, lucid dreaming is fascinating! In this episode, Robert Waggoner,  author of Lucid Dreaming: Gateway to the Inner Self, joins us to discuss the transformational benefits of lucid dreaming. With practice, lucid dreamers can: access their unconscious programming, powerfully deal with past pain and trauma, bring love to their repressed shadows, receive telepathic messages, and live in attunement with the larger Collective Conscious - a "beyond ego" space. Throughout the episode, Robert shares many examples illustrating the relationship between dreaming life and waking life. Included in his catalog of examples are the amazing triumphs and transformations of emotional and physical healing he and others have achieved through intentional lucid dreaming. Robert Waggoner is author of Lucid Dreaming, Gateway to the Inner Self and co-author of Lucid Dreaming Plain and Simple. He has been a lucid dreamer since 1975 and he has logged more than 1000 lucid dreams. He is a past President of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) and currently serves as a co-editor of the online magazine called The Lucid Dreaming Experience. He also frequently speaks about Lucid Dreaming at International Dream conferences. If you would like to connect with Robert, learn more about his books and his workshops, you can find him through his website: lucidadvice.com

This topic may be uncomfortable for some but it’s one we all will experience on day. Death. How do we approach the end of our lives? How do we deal with the fears, the pain, the anger, the regrets? Is there something than can help prepare us and ease the transition? The answer may be in our dreams. I saw this firsthand with my mother, whose dreams about her beloved father as she lay dying helped give her peace in her final days. My guest on this episode of Dream Power Radio, Mary Jo Heyen has heard the dreams of many people in her role as a hospice worker and found the healing medicine within them. She has written about this in her book Dreaming Into the Mystery: Explorations into Being with the Dreams and Visions of the Dying. Mary Jo shares her observations with us, including:•how dreams can soothe the dying•the common themes of those at the end of life•how these dreams can aid the families•when not to share these dreams with family members This valuable information is both critical and comforting for those at the end of life and their families. I've had different phases in my life, but then I went for way too long without any exercise. And now I've been consistent for almost five years and I still have the same person when the doorbell rings because I have the trainer come to me because I still don't trust that I'm going to go there, but when that bell rings, the same Layne still shows up and I greet her with love because I don't want to answer the door, but I am mindful and so that is how I use my mindfulness. I say, you're going to answer the door dear, and you're going to do the workout and you're going to be happy after it's done. And that to me is how I use mindfulness during my waking life. Thoughts on Breathing I guess it's similar to what happens for me in a meditation when the thoughts are scattered and they're all over the place. It always comes back to the breath. I don't see for me that much difference in that coming back to the breath is the same thing as saying it's okay girl, answer the door. It's getting back to the breath about my intention. The intention is everything. Suggested Resources Book: Radical Acceptance: Embracing Your Life With The Heart of a Buddha by Tara Brock App: Calm Bullying Story I have four daughters. I lost my eldest daughter about two years ago. There is a 20 years spread between my kids, they run from 45 all the way down to 25. When the older girls were young, I remember that one of them had a kid that was bullying her like crazy at school and the mindfulness mode that I used with my daughter, it didn't change the situation, but it sure changed how she felt about herself because, what I said was there's always something that we don't know. There's a blind spot that all of us have. And how do we know, for example, whether maybe her parents had a big fight this morning before she went to school. Maybe she has a parent who's screaming at her and maybe she's walking around with that so we don't know what's going on for someone else. We're blind to it and it's so nice to not take something personally and instead be thinking, wow, I wonder what's going on for that person that makes her be the way she is. Carol starts by describing that she got interested in her dreams while sleeping for several months by her grandmother who was making her transition. She describes her introduction to the study of dreams with her mentor Robert van de Castle and his book, Our Dreaming Mind. She then describes her role in creating the ethics statement for the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) and tells about some of the early breeches in ethics that occurred in the early days of the IASD conferences. She reads from the statement itself which emphasizes that only the dreamer is the final authority on their dreams. In the final segment, Carol talks about the reissuing of her book At the Feet of the Master which is the result of channeling words from John the Beloved about his relationship with Jesus Christ. We talk about the idea that “In dreams, we enter God's world. Through dreams, he enters ours." You can find out about the IASD here: https://www.asdreams.org/ And read the ethics statement for yourself here: https://www.asdreams.org/ethics-and-confidentiality/ BIO: Carol Warner has been working with dreams for over 45 years.
