Iridology is a natural health technique that involves examining the iris, the coloured part of the eye, to assess a person's overall health. Practitioners believe that specific areas of the iris correspond to different organs and systems in the body, revealing imbalances, weaknesses, or potential health issues. By studying patterns, colours, and other characteristics of the iris, iridologists can gain insights into a person's physical and emotional well-being. While it is not used to diagnose diseases, iridology helps identify areas where the body may need support, guiding individuals towards natural healing and preventive care. In today's episode, Philly sits down with Peter Jackson Main, a true pioneer in the field of natural healing. Peter has been teaching at CNM since 2003 and is the Course Director for Herbal Medicine, the Academic Director, and the Head of Research at the College. Peter began his journey into holistic health after leaving Cambridge University in the mid-70s, driven by his own health challenges. From Reflexology, Massage, Aromatherapy, and Polarity Therapy, Peter's quest for healing knowledge led him to The College of Herbs and Natural Healing, where he trained in Herbal Medicine and Iridology. He later achieved a Master of Sciences, further cementing his expertise in natural healing. Peter is a co-founder and former long-serving chairman of the Association of Master Herbalists. His influence on the herbal and naturopathic community is profound, having represented these fields in key governmental consultations. He is currently Chair of the General Naturopathic Council and a Fellow of the Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists. Additionally, Peter is Senior Lecturer, Course Director for Herbal Medicine, and Head of Research at the College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM). Nothing brings people together like catastrophe. Is it wrong to wish for it all to come crashing down to have our own reset? What are the elite preparing for? Why do they need deep underground shelters? How do we create a compelling future that makes all of humanity excited to participate? We have forgotten what it means to be human. Impermanence has become normal. Humans together create a Divine Will Array sending frequencies out to the universe and to those around us. Flow form is the natural state of humanity but first we must sense our permanence in the world. Polarity Therapy follows the yin(negative = inward) and yang(positive = outward) electrical currents that our bodies pulsate. Whether there's too much or too little charge, our circuit finds the harmony as the ground holds neutral. Adjusting muscle fascia as to release the memory of trauma is incorporated so the Piezoelectric capacity of our skeletal system is invoked. When our ‘Body Electric' is coherent, life becomes more enjoyable. Topher Gardner is a former professional athlete, field goal kicker, turned yogi. For 8 years, Trî Chung suffered from chronic pain after being rear-ended while driving my scooter. After a year passed with little improvement, the doctors couldn't find anything "wrong" withTrî Chung (i.e nothing was broken), so they diagnosed Trî Chung with fibromyalgia. The prescriptions Trî Chung tried didn't really help without completely knocking Trî Chung out, so Trî Chung became desperate to find a cure, even though they told Trî Chung there was no such thing. Trî Chung priority in life became health and wellness, and researched and experimented with a lot of different doctors, therapies, nutritional protocols, types of exercise, and drastic lifestyle changes to see if anything could make Trî Chung feel better. After years passed without significant changes, Trî Chung felt completely helpless and terrified that Trî Chung was going to live the rest of life suffering from constant pain which left me bedridden most of the time. Eventually Trî Chung path led to start receiving, and then studying Craniosacral and Polarity Therapy, which is when Trî Chung stopped having chronic pain. Business leaders rise to the top by excelling at doing the work—completing tasks, producing deliverables, meeting deadlines—but once they're in charge, they must pivot to focus on interpersonal relationships. And, as master coach and founder of MettaWorks Rachel Rider explains in WHO YOU ARE IS HOW YOU LEAD (Muse Literary; Spring 2023), the first relationship any leader must work on is the one they have with themself. In this insight-packed, psychology-infused book, Rider shares how she's helped hundreds of business leaders at companies like GitHub and Okta become high-functioning and self-optimized by identifying and rewiring unhelpful patterns of behavior and training them to prioritize relationship-building. She reveals her in-demand methodology, which is built on the idea that effectiveness as a leader is a direct reflection of one's inner life. Today we visited with Kelly and Rachel Rider to do a deep dive into her new book Who You Are is How You Lead. In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, entrepreneurship has become a catalyst for challenging leadership norms and disrupting the status quo. Entrepreneurs are challenging the usual ways of leading and shaking up how things are done. Instead of following the old rules, they come up with fresh ideas and take risks to make their businesses successful. Entrepreneurs are bold leaders who inspire others to break free from the norm, try new things, and make a positive impact. They're changing the game and showing that being a successful leader means being open to new possibilities in the ever-changing business world. Rachel Rider joins us in this episode. She's on a mission to change the way things are done. She encourages us to question the rules we follow in the corporate world and see if they're always true. Rachel tells us to look inside ourselves and think about our beliefs and thoughts because they affect how we lead. Rachel L. Rider is the author and owner of MettaWorks LLC, a company that helps top leaders in the technology industry through executive coaching. Her book, "Who You Are Is How You Lead," shares her expertise, experience, and insights using the MettaWorks Method, which has been successful for many leaders. Let's jump in! Key Highlights From The Show: [00:01] Intro and a quick bio of the guest; Rachel Rider [01:46] What is Somatic Experiencing and Polarity Therapy [02:57] Rachel's backstory into how she got into this area of specialisation [05:23] How Rachel helps unconventional leaders disrupt their status quo [06:48] Common corporate patterns and norms that should be revisited [08:50] Why people change jobs and leave companies [15:25] Is being a leader for everyone? [17:33] Recipe to becoming a better leader [29:14] The kind of a leader Rachel is [32:01] What it means for Rachel to be an entrepreneur [35:36] Valuable lessons Rachel has learned in changing from corporate to entrepreneurship [39:32] How to reach out, connect or learn more about Rachel Rider [39:52] Ending the show Notable Quotes: Your attitude and how you think will determine how you present yourself as a leader. Many people quit their jobs because of their bosses, not the company itself. Most successful business leaders didn't learn interpersonal skills initially; they climbed the corporate ladder by focusing on their technical abilities. Just because someone excels at closing deals as a salesperson doesn't mean they'll be a competent leader as a sales manager. If you want the world to change, be the one to initiate that change. To improve as a leader, begin by introspecting and better understanding yourself. Resources Mentioned: 1.Who You Are Is How You Lead by Rachel L. We have forgotten what it means to be human. Impermanence has become normal. Humans together create a Divine Will Array sending frequencies out to the universe and to those around us. You know there's something more but no matter what you try, nothing gets you over the hump? Rachel Rider has the solution. You've tried to get into a consistent workout routine, but any time your schedule changes it throws you off for weeks or you have a big project you're working on and you can't quite seem to get it finished even though it's a must do. On Women Who Build Empires, CEO and Founder of MettaWorks, Rachel Rider shares how she helps her clients identify and dispel negative habits, limiting beliefs and thought patterns that keep them from being the naturally high performing leaders they are meant to be. In the episode you'll find out:
Rachel Rider founded MettaWorks in 2015 after a distinguished career in HR, receiving executive coaching certification from Columbia University, and extensive training in meditation, Somatic Experiencing, and Polarity Therapy. Starting as HR Business Partner responsible for developing and coaching leaders and teams at Bloomberg, she went on to specialize in leadership coaching at AppNexus (since acquired by AT&T) and Digital Ocean, the third-largest hosting company in the world. She studied under renowned teacher and Zen Mountain Monastery founder John Daido Loori Roshi for 13 years before continuing under his successor, Shugen Arnold Roshi. Rider completed a three-year intensive certification in Somatic Experiencing in 2018, and a 2020 training in Polarity Therapy with the aim of bringing leaders tools to unlock effective, long-lasting change in concert with the body. Since 2020, she's been working intensively with anti-racism coach Makeda Pennycooke. Rider lives in New York with her husband and two children.

Scott Zamurut is a practitioner and teacher of somatic and energetic healing arts with over thirty-three years of experience in the field. His training background includes massage therapy, Polarity Therapy, private mentoring in structural integration, group leadership and dynamics, and ontological coaching, all of which support his current work in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and Pre and Perinatal education and healing. Scott shares his journey into the healing arts and what distinguishes the biodynamic approach amongst other approaches to craniosacral work. We discuss how energy is the “agency of healing”, the experience of sensing the body and the energy field in an integrated way and even integrating chakras within the craniosacral paradigm. We cover the importance of being present with the body, the earth and the energetic midline. We also investigate a core concept called primary respiration: how the body not only breathes physically but also energetically. Scott talks about developing palpation and perceptual skills, trauma healing, how to integrate classical psychic perception in touch therapy and the importance of maintaining healthy boundaries as a practitioner. He shares how working energetically gets us beyond the narrative and how the body resets and self-heals after energetic resolution. Scott entered his teaching path in 1990 with Polarity Therapy. As a student and teacher trainee in the first BCST training with Franklyn Sills, he is among the longest tenured Biodynamics teachers in North America. Scott was also fortunate to work extensively in the Pre and Perinatal field with Karlton Terry, who mentored directly with William Emerson, Ph.D. These two streams of healing work are alive as the core focus of Scott's healing and teaching practice. He served as a founding board member of the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy Association of North America, and is a past Vice President of the American Polarity Therapy Association. He is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico.www.scottzamurut.comLiked what you heard? Help us reach more people! We are covering one of the most popular topics of the human condition - relationships - with trauma-informed polarity coach, David Lea and Leah Guy. David and Leah dive into the definitions of masculine and feminine, the characteristics of each in our daily lives and how we show up to ourselves and one another in relationships. Being trauma-informed means recognizing that we each carry trauma memory and are in the process of healing, yet with awareness and application we can shift the way our energy is received by others and the impact that has on relationships. This is not a gender issue, it is an energy issue and everyone has a dominant energy or one they identify more strongly with and when we come to relationships out of that alignment, we can create stress and disharmony for all.David is a coach, speaker and teacher and, alongside his life partner, Paige, has created a foundational program called Daring Deeply. Find more about his work here.Leah is an intuitive healer, author, speaker and teacher who owns Modern Sage healing company and leads events and retreats around the world. I am grateful for all the medical workers who show up at all hours for all the hardest things, and for the amazing technological advances in medicine! In this episode: This is the fourth episode in a series of six where I am sharing stories, anecdotes, exercises and valuable tips on how to align your energy via the five elements which relate to the chakra system within Polarity Therapy. As this episode is focused on the fire element, I invited Sharon brown- sacred Fire Keeper, Granicera and Curindera, to share some of her deep wisdom on how to align your energy through the Fire element. Sharon has also been taking my Polarity classes, so this conversation became a lively and riveting comparison between these two lineages- philosophies and energetic principals of Polarity Therapy and those of the Nahua spiritual healing traditions of Mexico. In this episode Sharon and I discuss:How I reached out last minute to interview Sharon because of a dream (not that this is unusual- but still...)Sharons fascinating insights around the similarities and differences between Polarity therapy and the Nahua perspectives on energy, astrology, healing, the elements and more. Today's episode offers a window into truly integrative healing modalities, through the lens of Integrative Somatic Psychology™, with Dr Raja Selvam, PhD. During this episode, Victoria chats to Raja about: how embodying emotions has become foundational to transformational development work and healing from the imprint of trauma the work of embodying emotions and how Raja uses this personally to support his movement through life the real needs for healing integrating modalities and how to bridge the worlds of psychotherapy and the physiological diagnoses "psychosomatic" illness - what it really is and where it really comes from the acceleration possible when emotional embodiment and energy work is brought into the therapeutic container And so, so much more. This episode is peppered with great insights from one of the pioneers of integrative, somatic healing modalities - and a rich source of support for anyone either training in this field, or who would like support for their own personal process. Dr. Raja Selvam, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist from the US, is the developer of Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) (a complementary therapeutic approach based on affective neuroscience and the emerging paradigm of embodied cognition, emotion, and behavior in cognitive neuroscience and psychology) to improve cognitive, emotional, behavioral, physical, energetic, relational, and spiritual outcomes in all therapy modalities. Dr. Selvam is also a senior trainer in Dr. Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing (SE) Professional Trauma Training Program. He has taught for twenty-five years in nearly as many countries in North and South Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and the Far East. His work is informed by older body psychotherapy systems of Reichian Therapy and Bioenergetic Analysis, newer body psychotherapy systems of Bodynamic Analysis and Somatic Experiencing, and bodywork systems of Postural Integration and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. His work is also inspired by Jungian and archetypal psychologies, Kleinian and intersubjective schools of psychoanalysis, affective neuroscience, quantum physics, yoga, Polarity Therapy, and Advaita Vedanta (a spiritual psychology from India). His book The Practice of Embodying Emotions: A Method for Improving Cognitive, Emotional, and Behavioral Outcomes was published on March 22, 2022. Dr. Selvam's work also draws upon his clinical psychology PhD dissertation on Advaita Vedanta and Jungian psychology, based on which he has published an article titled “Jung and Consciousness,” in the international analytical psychology journal Spring in 2013. He did trauma outreach work in India in 2005–2006 with survivors of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, based on which he has published an outcome study titled “Somatic Therapy Treatment Effects with Tsunami Survivors,” in the journal Traumatology in 2008. Dr. Selvam's work is also inspired by the work he did in Sri Lanka in 2011–2013 with survivors of war, violence, loss, and displacement, and with mental health professionals engaged in treating them, after Sri Lanka's thirty-year civil war ended in 2009. Today we are joined by Susan Ulfelder, Director of the Hellinger Institute of DC and both graduate and former Dean at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. We discuss Susan's current work in Family Constellations, a powerful approach to individual and family healing developed by German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger, her experience as a hands-on healer through modalities such as Polarity Therapy and Brennan Healing Science and her personal development of high sense perception (ESP). We consider the powerful process of "representation" in family constellations, and what it is to expand our focus from the perception of the individual field through to the systemic or family field. We discuss some of the more fascinating energetic dynamics of the family field such as how energetic cords or entanglements between people function, and how issues and themes travel across generations. We also cover the power of healing words and phrases in Constellation work, and Susan shares her experience with founder Bert Hellinger, who emphasised the honouring of our parents for giving us life, which restores the flow of love through generations past. www.hellingerdc.comLiked what you heard? Psychologist Raja Selvam, discusses his new book, The Practice of Embodying Emotions: A Guide for Improving Cognitive, Emotional, and Behavioral Outcomes. Raja is the creator of Integral Somatic Psychology™ (ISP™), an effective somatic therapy that encourages optimal mental health by fully embodying emotions. Raja and I explore how clinicians can facilitate patient resolution of difficult emotions by allowing increased recognition of emotion and then expanding that emotion to more of the body. Rather than cognitively down-regulating emotions, this somatic approach of expanding emotion increases affect tolerance and resolves systemic distress. ISP is a complementary modality for all talk therapy methods. It was an honor to dialogue with Raja about ISP and also our mutual interest in non-dual philosophy.Clinical psychologist Raja Selvam, PhD, is the developer of Integral Somatic Psychology™ (ISP™), an effective somatic therapy that helps clients achieve optimal mental health by fully embodying their emotions. Today we commune with guest Bruce Burger, author of the exceptional Esoteric Anatomy: The Body as Consciousness, published by North Atlantic Books in 1998, teacher and practitioner of Polarity Therapy, and founder of the Heartwood Institute in 1978. At Heartwood, Bruce has said he participated in “a revolution in the understanding and practice of holistic healing, and the emergence of Energy Medicine”. Bruce discusses his great passion for the ancient wisdom traditions and how they have informed his understanding of the nature of consciousness. We hear of his travels to India as a young seeker after finding disenchantment with the western, materialistic worldview, and tales of renowned teachers and adepts such as Osho, S.N. Goenka, Papaji, Satya Sai Baba and Vanamali Mataji. Bruce shares the philosophy of Samkhya, where the cause of suffering is ignorance of our own inherent divinity, and how knowledge or realization of the self is the balm for this suffering. He emphasizes the essential role of therapeutic presence in healing work, and how trauma can be resolved when sacred space is held for us to be safe and present in our body. He explains how everything that exists is a self-organising and self-correcting field of polarities, and reminds us of the ecstasy of embodiment, the inherent joy that comes with this human experience if we can only tap into it.Liked what you heard? In this episode In this fun yet potent interview, Polarity and Craniosacral teacher Kim Pinckley shares some powerful medicine dreams and discusses: How she had two dream visitations in one day from deceased friends visiting her from the other side How Yoda and the Karate Kid inspired her to step on the healers' path which she has been on for over 25 years as a craniosacral and polarity practitioner, teacher and retreat leader How she frequently dreams of receiving guidance for her soul's mission from what she refers to as the Galactic Federation (which BTW Kim really would love to know if you have been there too!) She has since studied this therapy with 3 different schools in 3 different states and has been practicing it for almost 20 years. In 2010 Kim attended the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts where she met her passion, Polarity Therapy, which she terms, "the most comprehensive and effective modality available for healing, change and balance for your body and your life equally". With all the info out there, it is hard to know what the best vegan, cruelty-free and clean skincare products are. But our guest today is an industry expert and is sharing all the info we need to choose the best products! Taking care of our skin is so important. It's the largest organ we have! And nothing feels better than high quality products that are good for your body and actually work. Which is why I always turn to OSEA Malibu for all my skin care needs! Use my link above and code veggies10 for 10% off your first order! OSEA began in Jenefer's kitchen sink after a decade working as Spa Director at the historic Murrieta Hot Springs. Paired with her training in various healing modalities including Polarity Therapy, Acupressure, Shiatsu and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Jenefer was a thought leader in the burgeoning wellness space. Her desire to create active, vegan and clean skincare was revolutionary and what began as a personal passion soon evolved into a fully-fledged beauty brand, manifesting the seed of her idea into reality. What Does Clean Mean in Skincare? The term clean skincare doesn't have one set definition because it is not regulated by the government, so it is up to each brand to define what clean skincare means to them. In general, clean skincare uses products that are from the earth, sustainable and do not contain synthetic chemicals. They are often also vegan and cruelty-free. OSEA products focus on marine based elements. Most of their products are seaweed based. What Is the Difference Between Vegan and Cruelty-Free? When you look at a clean skincare brand, you often also see the labels vegan and cruelty-free. While these most often, and should, go hand in hand, they don't mean the same thing. Vegan means that they do not contain any animal products in the product itself. While cruelty-free means that the products are not tested on animals. Products can be cruelty-free but not vegan. But vegan products are also cruelty-free because vegan means that no animals were used at any point in making the product. Are Vegan, Cruelty-Free and Clean Skincare Products Best? Everyone has their own opinion on what products they believe are best. But over here, we focus on vegan, cruelty-free and clean skincare brands. They are more sustainable than those that use synthetic chemicals because they use ingredients from the earth. Typically, clean skincare tends to give people less of a reaction when using them. This is mostly because they don't contain synthetic chemicals and focus on earth based ingredients, however someone can react to ingredients from the earth as well. Reducing synthetically derived chemicals also makes it so that products can work with so many different skin types. Often times a person who thinks they have sensitive skin finds out it was just the chemicals they were reacting to and their skin is not that sensitive. Also, clean skincare tends to have sustainable packaging which is also another way to help the earth. OSEA for example packages their products in glass packaging. A vegan plant-based life is overall the most sustainable way for us to live, there is so much to choose from when it comes from earth! Ingredients in Clean Skincare Products Most clean skincare brands use ingredients from the earth. OSEA stands for Ocean, Sun, Earth and Atmosphere. But they mostly focus on marine based ingredients. Most of their products use seaweed as a base, and some use essential oils. Seaweed is rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that are all amazing for your skin. Essential oils are another main ingredient used for clean skincare. They come from plants and capture the plants scent. How Do I Get a Clean Skincare Routine? First you need to find a product you love. OSEA is my go to! You also need to be consistent. You can't make progress on anything until you establish a good consistency.

Kristin Sipley is a somatic wellness consultant, facilitator, educator, and mentor who assists individuals, couples, families, groups, and other professionals across the globe to connect with the wisdom and health within themselves and the field around us. Her integrative, holistic approach recognizes the inherent intelligence and health that supports each of us and combines aspects from her training in pre- and perinatal (PPN) somatic health, parent-infant mental health, lifespan development, trauma integration, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Polarity Therapy, Reiki, and adult education. Kristin is an approved Castellino Womb Surround Process Workshop Facilitator and Supervisor, as well as contributes to various PPN and bodywork trainings throughout the US and Canada.Eileen's work is based in the recognition that our body is more than muscles, connective tissue, bones and organs. We exist in many layers of physical anatomy, mind, emotions, subtle energy; even further, in connection to living family, our deceased ancestors, local community and nation; and, finally, in relationship with nature, the planet, as a drop in the ocean of totality of existence, in whichever way each of us connects with essence, spirit or intelligence of life. She recognizes that each individual has an inner guidance system to their own optimal health; so in a very practical, commonsense way she supports each client by listening receptively to what is needed in each individual session. Through a wide variety of training and practical experience working with clients she continues to gain deeper understanding of the balance needed between stability/strength, fluidity/flexibility and clarity/understanding to support a direction toward health. She has worked for 26 years as a practitioner and teacher in the holistic health field with bodywork, yoga, Breema® Bodywork and Self-Breema; She is now focusing on Pre-and Peri-Natal Education and Health, Craniosacral Therapy and am a Certified Womb Surround Process Workshop Leader. For 30 years She has been a leader in many communities -- facilitating communication and transformation toward health within the organizations. The direction of my work is connecting, in health, families with each other and the larger community. In my practice she works with adults, individually and in groups and families with babies, children and teens. To support connected families she offers classes for parents and professionals (teachers and in the health field) in person and on-line. The intention of the work is to restore connection to individual health as well as the thriving of the family system. Her work is very attuned to the wants and needs of each particular individual and family. She endeavors to create a safe non-judgmental space where adults and children can feel the “welcome” we all want and deserve from the start. Together we help transform challenges to more resilience, connection and mutual support and cooperation.https://www.eileensendrey.com/
