Send me a messageHow do you show a customer the inside of a wind turbine nacelle, or onboard engineers to hazardous industrial equipment, without ever leaving their desks? In this episode of the Sustainable Supply Chain podcast, I'm joined by Matt Trubow, Commercial Director at Hidden Creative, to explore how immersive technology is changing the way engineering organisations sell, train, and transfer knowledge.Matt and I discuss Simmerse, a browser-based spatial computing platform that's already being used by the likes of ABB, GE, and Johnson Controls to reduce travel emissions, eliminate onboarding bottlenecks, and accelerate complex B2B sales. Instead of flying people around the world or relying on death-by-PowerPoint, Simmerse allows distributed teams and customers to step inside a 3D environment, whether it's a ship engine, water treatment plant, or offshore turbine, and engage with it in real time.We dive into the cognitive science behind why this works so well for engineers, the tangible ROI it's delivering, and how tools like AI and digital twins are reshaping industrial communications. If you work in a supply chain function where product complexity, technical sales, or sustainability impact are key, this episode will give you a fresh lens on immersive tech as a practical tool, not a gimmick.Elevate your brand with the ‘Sustainable Supply Chain' podcast, the voice of supply chain sustainability.Last year, this podcast's episodes were downloaded over 113,000 times by senior supply chain executives around the world.Become a sponsor. ”For the first time in history - less than a decade ago - chronic diseases started killing us more than famine, pestilence, bacteria, viruses, all those things combined.” Yet, despite the suffering of millions, innovation is being strangled by a broken pharmaceutical system where red tape, corporate greed, and bureaucratic middlemen leave patients behind. But what if there's another way? My guest, biotech entrepreneur and humanitarian Lou Reese, believes there is. And he's not just dreaming. Lou is building it. In this conversation, Lou reveals a radical new model for drug development and delivery, one that bypasses Big Pharma, puts patients first, and could bring breakthrough treatments to market faster and at a fraction of the cost.Together, we unpack how Parkinson's patients, just like those with Alzheimer's, are being failed by a system that prioritizes profit over access. And we explore how a bold America First Pharma plan might change that forever. This is a call to action! Because if we don't fight for innovation now, we'll be trapped in the same failing system tomorrow. This is Some Future Day. And that future starts now.Episode Links: Lou on X: https://x.com/NotLouReeseOrder Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok
Welcome to Some Future Day. I'm Marc Beckman and today we're diving deep into the future of artificial intelligence with a visionary entrepreneur who's taking on one of AI's most pressing challenges: bias and racism. John Pasmore, founder and CEO of Latimer, recognized early on that unchecked biases embedded in AI could profoundly affect future generations. Inspired by the realization that his son and millions of others would interact with AI filled with implicit racial biases, John took decisive action to tackle these deep-rooted issues by providing training data that genuinely represents diverse perspectives. In today's conversation, we dive into why Latimer's unique approach - leveraging historical archives, textbooks, and dissertations from black and other overlooked cultures - is essential for an equitable digital future. Stay with us as we discuss the implications of biased AI, the ongoing fight for accurate representation in technology, and how each of us can help shape a fairer, more inclusive future, right here on Some Future Day.Episode Links:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jpasmoreInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jpasmore/Latimer: https://www.latimer.ai/Order Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok

Antisemitism isn't just rising in America, it's exploding. And while our institutions hesitate, the attacks are getting louder, deadlier, and more brazen. Just this spring, during Passover, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro's home was targeted in an arson attack while he and his family were asleep inside. Soon thereafter, a young Jewish couple was murdered in cold blood in Washington, D.C. Their only crime? Being Jewish. And in Boulder, Colorado, an Egyptian national terrorist launched a brutal assault using Molotov cocktails and a flamethrower on a group of Jewish people who were peacefully assembled to support the Israeli hostages. The attack injured an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor, plus 11 other individuals. The question is no longer whether antisemitism exists. The question is: Why is America tolerating it? On today's episode of Some Future Day, I sit down with Robert Spencer, scholar, historian, and author of the new book “Antisemitism: History and Myth.” Together we trace the ancient roots of Jew hatred, explore how Islamic extremism and Western academia are feeding the flames, and confront the role social media and influencers are playing in amplifying the world's oldest hatred. This conversation is raw, necessary, and deeply unsettling. But it's one we can't avoid. If we stay silent now, the future of Jews in America could mirror the darkest chapters of our past.Episode Links:Website: https://jihadwatch.org/X: https://x.com/jihadwatchRSInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jihadwatch.robertspencer/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@JihadWatchVideo"Antisemitism: History and Myth" by Robert Spencer: https://a.co/d/12lfxyEOrder Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok

XR pioneer Avi Bar-Zeev has been at the forefront of Spatial Computing for over 30 years: from launching Disney's groundbreaking Aladdin VR ride in the early 90s and crafting Second Life's 3D worlds to co-founding Keyhole (Google Earth) mirror-earth spatial browser, co-inventing the Hololens AR headset in 2010 and leading the Experience Prototyping team for Apple's Vision Pro and more from 2016-19. Bar-Zeev's so ubiquitous he's been affectionately called the Forrest Gump of XR. On today's show, Bar-Zeev returns to the podcast and illuminates his journey through immersive tech from those early days to his latest role as Founder and President of the XR Guild, a 501c3 nonprofit, his response to the urgent need to bring more thoughtful and ethical practices into emerging platforms and AI. Today we expose the brutal truth about Vladimir Putin, Russia, and Ukraine. My guest is Ambassador Georgette Mosbacher, former US ambassador to Poland and one of the few people alive who has seen how deep Russia's propaganda war really goes. She reveals how Putin didn't just invade Ukraine with soldiers, he invaded with disinformation, AI and psychological warfare, and we let him. We talk about American weakness, European cowardice, and why the Biden administration gave Ukraine just enough to survive, but never enough to win.Ambassador Mosbacher doesn't hold back. She says if she had been negotiating with Putin, she would've bombed Moscow, and then called to say, “Don't take it personally, Vladimir!”She says America has been asleep while our enemies build influence campaigns, turn social media into weapons, and use artificial intelligence to destabilize democracies. We dig into the lies, the missed opportunities, and the question no one in power can answer: What does winning even look like? This episode is not comfortable, it's not polite, and it is urgent. Ambassador Mosbacher, you're a good friend. I appreciate you coming on Some Future Day. This week on Some Future Day, I had the honor of sitting down with two absolute legends: Lil Eazy-E, the son of iconic Eazy-E, and the one and only DJ Yella of N.W.A. We talked about the origins of hip hop: the real, raw, revolutionary movement that changed American culture and the world. How N.W.A. became a voice for the streets when no one else would listen. How music at one point carried the soul of the people and how much of that soul has gone missing. Today, Yella told me flat out, music's gotten fake. Artificial. AI is writing lyrics, mixing beats, and erasing the human experience. But Lil Eazy-E had a different take. What if he could use AI to bring back his father's voice? Not to fake the legacy, but to honor it. We explored that thin line between innovation and exploitation and asked, can AI ever replace authenticity or is something irreplaceable lost when machines take the mic? We didn't stop there. We talked about politics, race, legacy, and the need for respect between generations. We talked about the launch of their new Hip Hop Hot Sauce, international tours, and what it means to be from Compton and to make it out. This episode isn't just about music. It's about the future of culture, technology, storytelling, and soul. What if I told you that the next school shooting is already being planned right now? That the killer is broadcasting his intentions on social media and no one is stopping it? This week I sat down with Zeev Fragachan, a former IDF officer, school security expert, and fierce advocate for protecting America's children, to ask the questions that nobody wants to answer. But we must. Why has the United States experienced over 2,000 school shootings since Columbine, while countries like Israel report zero? Are social media platforms fueling school shooters, or could they be our best chance to stop them?Zeev breaks down the psychological profile of a school shooter. It's not always mental illness. It's something more dangerous. We dive into what happened in Uvalde, Parkland, and the chilling failures of law enforcement, but we don't stop there. We go global to the rise of terrorism, 3D-printed guns, digital radicalization inside Roblox and Minecraft, and even Kanye's anti-Semitic lyrics infecting America's youth. This is a call to arms for parents, lawmakers, and every adult in America, because the next future day could be one we never recover from. What if I told you the next generation isn't watching, they're playing? On this episode of Some Future Day, I sit down with Matt Edelman, the newly named CEO of Super League, a company connecting brands with over a billion gamers across Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft. We're not talking about ads; we're talking about worlds. Branded quests. Digital sneakers. In-game burrito giveaways that break mobile app records. This is marketing like you've never seen before! Matt shares how Gen Z is spending more time gaming than on YouTube and TikTok combined, and how brands are finally waking up to it. We get into the big stats - $50 billion in gaming and revenue; 3.3 billion players globally. And how a teenage girl created a hit game that rivals fashion runways in Roblox. I know: my daughter and her friends are totally addicted! Why should brands risk leaving the safety of TikTok or YouTube? We even talk about AI, mobile gaming, and the missed opportunity fashion brands are facing right now by not jumping into this space. Cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence will represent the largest U.S. growth sectors percentagewise over the next five years. Anchorage Digital Bank is the first and only U.S.-based, federally chartered bank, specializing in cryptocurrency and digital asset custody and financial services. Imagine a world where terrorists leverage social media, not merely as a tool for propaganda, but as a sophisticated weapon of influence, crafting messages that penetrate deeply into society, captivating minds and shaping global opinion. This isn't fiction. It's the chilling reality unfolding around us.Today, on Some Future Day, we dive deep into the hidden corridors of terror's digital transformation with our guest, Erez Zborowski, an expert who has walked directly in the shadowy interactions of journalism, security, and intelligence.Erez began his career with a profound lesson on the cost of truth, inspired by the tragic story of journalist James Foley. His path led him from classrooms of journalism to the volatile streets of Israel, Africa, and the Middle East, operating as a fixer, a crucial role that placed him face to face with terrorist groups and gave him unique insights into their evolving strategies. That's right. A fixer. With firsthand experience, Erez witnessed how groups like ISIS revolutionized the concept of soft power, turning heinous acts into viral content designed to recruit sympathizers worldwide. In this eye-opening conversation, we'll uncover the alarming ways terrorist organizations use social media, gaming platforms, and encrypted apps to spread their message, recruit globally, and hide in plain sight. We'll discuss the chilling role AI might play both as a threat and, potentially, a defense against this rising digital menace. Prepare yourself because this discussion with Erez will forever alter how you perceive the digital spaces we navigate every day. The future is already here, and it's more complex and more perilous than most of us realize.Erez, thank you for joining me on this episode of Some Future Day.Order Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/Episode Links:Erez on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/erez-zborowski-470977288/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok
Spatial computing will extend computing beyond screens. In the process it could change how we communicate and interact with technology as a whole -- transforming how we work, how we learn, how we preserve memories, and even what can be owned (with issues like virtual air rights highlighting new business opportunities and regulatory challenges). Future Dynamics founder and spatial computing expert Cathy Hackl will share what to expect and what's needed to scale this field further (or what could hold it back). She'll also explain how companies and leaders should be preparing and reveal the advice she gives CEOs to help them get ready for this tech shift and the workforce that will come with it, Gen Alpha. In a nation scarred by years of civil war, the rapid collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024 marked a pivotal turning point. The Islamist terrorist group, HTS - once linked to Al-Qaeda - led a swift eleven-day offensive that toppled the government seizing key cities, including Damascus. However, this power shift unleashed a wave of sectarian violence with reports indicating that over 1,000 people have been killed in recent clashes, predominantly from the Alawite minority. Christian communities, too, face heightened threats under the new liberated Syria, with incidents of violence and kidnapping causing widespread fear.As HTS consolidates its control, the nation teeters on the brink with international observers expressing deep concern over the escalating humanitarian crisis and the uncertain future of Syria. Independent journalist Collin Mayfield was in Lebanon with Hezbollah when he learned of the Assad regime's collapse. Collin grabbed his gear and crossed into Syria just as HTS seized control.Mr. Mayfield witnessed and recorded Syria during these initial chaotic days. He visited the Damascus Public Hospital and saw corpses with evidence of severe torture, presumably recovered from Sednaya Prison. He encountered survivors from Sednaya Prison at the Ibn Sina Psychiatric Hospital who were severely traumatized. And of course, he visited Sednaya Prison, notoriously known as the “human slaughterhouse,” where he encountered evidence of extensive torture, extreme abuse, and female birth control pills. Collin even documented the Far' Falastin Prison, notorious for sexual violence against women.Collin, thank you for taking the time to share your far-ranging Syrian experience, from Captagon drug factories to encounters with ISIS and HTS Militia at Assad's Presidential Palace. This interview is truly historic. Brave Colin has reported from Iraq, Ukraine. Myanmar, Nigeria, Haiti, and several other hotbeds across the globe, most recently with Hezbollah in Lebanon and then into Syria as HTS took control. On this episode of Some Future Day, Collin documents his firsthand account in Lebanon as Hezbollah and Israel engaged in war. Today we confront one of the most harrowing and consequential moments in modern history. The world has watched in horror as the brutality of October 7th has given way to even greater darkness. And now the unimaginable: Israeli children Kfir and Ariel Bibas, once held hostage by Hamas, are dead. Their fate, unconfirmed for months, was paraded in a grotesque display of inhumanity by those who revel in suffering. But what does this moment mean for Israel? For the future of the Middle East? For the very fabric of Western civilization? To answer these urgent questions, I sit down with a man who not only shaped history but understands it better than most. Ambassador David Friedman was at the heart of the Abraham Accords, forging peace where none was thought possible. Now, as the Jews fight for their survival against terror, against global antisemitism, against those who would wipe them from the map, we ask: What comes next? Will there be peace? Will Israel be forced into another cycle of war? Or will this be the moment the world finally understands that there is no compromise with evil? This is a conversation you cannot afford to miss. The Grateful Dead's last performance at Nassau Coliseum was on March 28th, 1994. And I remember that day as if it were yesterday. My law school study group and I traversed to the Coliseum, scalped front row tickets, and somehow, I made it backstage. The most magical thing occurred: I accidentally bumped into Jerry Garcia, the Dead's iconic frontman, and I convinced Jerry that I worked for my law school's newspaper. He agreed to a brief interview. I never shared the audio version of my conversation with Jerry Garcia publicly until now.The Grateful Dead is one of the most influential bands in history. Between 1965 and 1995, the Dead played over 2,300 concerts across the globe. Jerry Garcia was the leader of the Grateful Dead, a ‘60s counterculture icon who embodied peace, love, and artistic freedom.I hope you enjoy the ride.Order Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/Episode Links:Dustin Blank on X: https://x.com/DustinBlankDustin's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dustin-blankElevenLabs: https://elevenlabs.io/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok

We have entered a post-nuclear warfare period because of AI. When it comes to offensive capability, AI creates new weapons of war, with the biggest being drones. Most of us are aware of how drones are currently used on the battlefield: a lone human operator drives a drone into enemy territory for the purpose of gathering intelligence or to drop a very limited ordnance, like a single grenade, onto the enemy. Indeed, we have seen this repeatedly in the war between Russia and Ukraine. However, military futurists are already homing in on the capability of drones to be bolstered to a staggering degree when AI is introduced into the mix. The most talked about is the ability of large groups of drones to create drone swarms. “For the survivor who chooses to testify, it is clear: his duty is to bear witness for the dead and for the living. He has no right to deprive future generations of a past that belongs to our collective memory. To forget would be not only dangerous, but offensive.” These are the immortal words of Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel. You are about to hear the enduring words of Aviva Siegel. Aviva was a hostage in Gaza. Aviva's husband, Keith Siegel, is still a hostage in Gaza. At six in the morning on October 7th, fifteen terrorists shot their way into Aviva and Keith's home. Aviva's primal scream reached the heavens. The terrorists shot Keith, and they broke his rib.Soon thereafter Aviva and Keith, still in their pajamas, were forced at gunpoint to enter their own car. The kidnappers drove to Gaza where more terrorists, people with sticks, mothers, children, and even elders and babies lined the streets, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Jews from the nearby kibbutz, who were immediately forced underground, into dark tunnels, into captivity. And since then, for more than 440 days, Keith has been trapped, numbed, beaten, starved, tortured, asphyxiated, drained, psychologically battered, and the inexhaustible list of atrocities continues. In this episode, Aviva Siegel shares her harrowing experience of being held hostage in Gaza by Hamas. She recounts the traumatic events that began on October 7th, when terrorists invaded her home, shot her husband Keith, and took them both captives.Aviva details the ordeal of being moved between multiple locations, subjected to brutal treatment, and the continuous fear and uncertainty they faced. She speaks about the deep love for her husband and her relentless hope for his return, as well as her belief in the power of love and humanity despite the atrocities she witnessed. The episode also delves into her life before the kidnapping and her dedication to teaching young children. Calling for unity and compassion, Aviva voices a heartfelt plea for peace and the return of all hostages.Preorder Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/Episode Links:Bring them home now: https://stories.bringthemhomenow.net/To join the conversation, follow Marc Beckman here: YoutubeLinkedInTwitterInstagramTikTok
I had the honor of meeting Ambassador John Rakolta, Jr. this past summer in New York City. His name may not sound familiar, but John is a serious visionary who currently serves as chairman of Walbridge, a $6.5 billion construction firm based in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1916, Walbridge boasts being one of America's largest contractors with deep roots tied to building automotive and manufacturing facilities. Impressively, John predicted the importance of technology in American commerce and steered Walbridge into the future.Today, Walbridge is a leader in building electric vehicle facilities and hyperscale data centers. But here's where it gets interesting: Mr. Rakolta served as the United States Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and played a lead role in architecting the Abraham Accords between the UAE and Israel. Since then, the Middle East has been literally on fire.On this episode, Ambassador Rakolta provides an in-depth analysis of the Middle East and shares for the first time how the Abraham Accords were established, how they have been effective, and what's next in the region. Ambassador Rakolta also shares his insights on effective leadership, his personal work ethic, and reflections on the current state and future prospects of peace in the region. The episode concludes with thoughts on national security and the importance of bringing manufacturing back to the United States.Preorder Marc's new book, "Some Future Day: How AI Is Going to Change Everything"Sign up for the Some Future Day Newsletter here: https://marcbeckman.substack.com/Episode Links:Amb.
