Basel, Frühjahr 1998. Peter Goller, erfahrener Ermittler und ausgewiesener Sektenkenner, soll für den baden-württembergischen Verfassungsschutz mehr über Scientology herausfinden. Die amerikanische Organisation ist in den 1990er-Jahren auch in Deutschland auf Expansionskurs, umgeben von Angst, Misstrauen und politischen Debatten. Goller will Informationen und sucht dafür auch Kontakt zu Scientology-Kritikerinnen in der Schweiz. Was als harmloses Treffen beginnt, entwickelt sich zu einem diplomatischen Skandal zwischen Deutschland und der Schweiz. Der Fall wirft bis heute Fragen auf – auch zur Rolle von Scientology und einer besonderen Abteilung der Organisation, dem „Office of Special Affairs” – dem womöglich ältesten privaten Geheimdienst der Welt. In jener Zeit staunten alle Leute über das, was Jesus tat; er aber sagte zu seinen Jüngern: Merkt euch genau, was ich jetzt sage: Der Menschensohn wird den Menschen ausgeliefert werden. Doch die Jünger verstanden den Sinn seiner Worte nicht; er blieb ihnen verborgen, so dass sie ihn nicht begriffen. Aber sie scheuten sich, Jesus zu fragen, was er damit sagen wollte. 

Some partnerships in financial services begin with a handshake and end with a contract dispute. Others start with a Sunday morning LinkedIn message and evolve into something that transcends the typical vendor-client relationship. The collaboration between Cross River Bank and Best Egg falls firmly into the latter category. What began as basic loan origination has evolved into sophisticated closed-loop capital market solutions, including the development of Best Egg's "BEAST" securitization platform, which uses Cross River's CRB Securities to package assets for sale to institutional investors. The progression reflects Cross River's willingness and ability to help fintechs climb the rungs of product expansion as they grow: "We have so many use cases where a partner came to us for lending, and that ultimately expanded to a deposit product, a payment service, and a card product," Goller notes. Although partners that offer point solutions can help fintechs get started, they don't set them up for the future. It's week two for the new Canadian government under Prime Minister Mark Carney and while he's definitely made the case to the electorate that he's not Trump, he still seems kind of concerned as Bill C-2 enters the picture. The second major piece of legislation from Carney seems to accept some of Trump's bonafides that Canada is an epicentre for fentanyl and our border security needs reform, and civil liberty groups have notes. Has Carney already gone too far just over a month since Election Day? Going Kier. It's been almost a year since Kier Starmer and the Labour Party were elected to lead the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, and now there's some considerable regret in the electorate. Not exactly a surprise, but nipping at Starmer's heals are Nigel Farage and his alt-right Reform Party who are waiting to seize on any doubt in the electorate that the government just doesn't work. Should we be concerned about a populist revolt in the U.K., and is there a lesson for Carney and Canada's Liberals? The Goller. There is a lot going on in downtown Guelph. Some serious construction projects are getting going and it's just a taste of what's to come, poverty support groups are getting traffic tickets from bylaw, and there was more than a little controversy about where exactly a daytime shelter should go. This is final part of our series of podcasts recorded at the International Music Summit in Ibiza, better known as IMS. Cocoon was a the first party to bring Techno to Ibiza. Sven Väth was a huge name in 1998 but bringing the real sound to what, up til that point, been a musical landscape that was probably best described as light-hearted was a big risk. But they made it work at twenty seasons later a legend had been born. Johannes Goller was there from the very start, and despite youth and inexperience was soon the main man for Cocoon in Ibiza. He has the stories to prove it.This was a wide ranging discussion covering Ibiza today, and Johannes' new party Trip, but going all the way back to the very first season of Cocoon and the challenges of bringing a fresh sound to the island. We also discuss after-parties, local politics, the changing nature of Techno in the 2000s and beyond, and much else besides. This was a great way to wrap up our IMS series. This story is about a person who was able to successfully launch their own business by taking advantage of the resources available to them through Digital Marketer. They joined the Elite Coaching program and had Scott as their coach, which helped them learn a ton of knowledge. They made use of all the digital marketing resources and applied what they learned, which resulted in their business taking off. They started with conversion funnels, understanding how the concept of marketing fits in, understanding the T shaped marketer, and understanding where all the components fit in. They then decided to focus on what they enjoyed most - writing and communication - and applied what they learned from Scott's four pillars and content. Emilie från Göteborg började redan för över tjugo år sedan att jobba som frivillig för Röda Korset och sedan dess har det blivit Röda Korset för hela slanten.  Efter att ha arbetat för organisationen i Wien, Bryssel, Sverige, Nord-Korea är Emilie nu stationerad i Genève och Rom som högra handen, Special Advisor till Francesco Rocca, IFRCs president.  “Jag tror mycket på vårt mandat och det vi gör, att jobba med människor och att hjälpa, där man kan hjälpa.” säger Emilie. Vi kommer också in på hur vi alla kan hjälpa Röda Korset just nu i Ukraina-krisen.
