Robbie and Tana have been in connection for a couple of years now. Tana and her family live up in Alaska, have a super unique household, fostered and adopted kids and just an incredible heart for hunting, living, and connecting with the land. Tana knew as she got more and more involved in the Alaskan wilderness and what that time spent there was doing for her - mentally, physically, spiritually, that she wanted to share that with other women. Tana shares with Robbie about her woman-only hunts in Alaska - and the broader landscape of woman hunt programs writ-large from organizations including Wild Sheep Foundation, SCI, Wahine Wapiti in New Zealand, She Hunt and others around the world. Woman hunters and woman hunt programs are becoming more and more common and dominant as woman are the fastest growing demographic of hunters in the world! In this episode of the Coffee and a Hangar Podcast, we're excited to welcome Adam Grenda, a seasoned pilot, big game hunter, and trapper hailing from King Salmon, Alaska. Adam dives deep into his unique journey of learning to fly in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness, all under the mentorship of legendary bush pilot Ron Hayes. Adam reflects on the impact Ron had on his career, offering valuable lessons from the heart of Alaska. We explore everything from Adam's terrifying near-crash incident to his lifelong passion for hunting, which began at a young age. His stories perfectly capture the blend of adventure, danger, and the rugged beauty that defines life as a bush pilot in Alaska. Adam shares his experiences flying the iconic Super Cub, the lessons he learned through trial and error in the air, and how those early hunting experiences paved the way for his guiding career in Alaska's tough terrain. Adam also shares in detail his harrowing Super Cub crash at age 20, recounting how, as a young pilot with just 3 hours of tailwheel experience, he made some split-second decisions that resulted in a total wreck. He candidly talks about the mistakes he made during that flight, including ignoring basic safety measures and overconfidence in his abilities. Yet, from that near-fatal accident, Adam emerged with hard-earned wisdom that shaped the rest of his career, teaching him the importance of critical decision-making, especially in the erratic conditions of bush flying. Through the ups and downs of his flying career, Adam reflects on the importance of humility, proficiency, and the constant drive to improve. His story is not just about surviving, but thriving in one of the most challenging environments on Earth. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy these epic tales of bush flying, and true backcountry adventure, straight from the Alaskan frontier. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/coffeeinahangar/support

Welcome to The Peds NP Acute Care Faculty series! This series was created and peer-edited by national leaders in acute care PNP education collaborating with one another to meet the needs of our future colleagues. In the push for competency-based education where faculty verify the skills of what a student can do, rather than their knowledge, our series focuses on the application of didactic content with a practical approach so that you can learn nuances of clinical skills before you reach the bedside. *This is the second episode in a 2 part series on enteral feeding. Listen to Episode 75: Malnutrition and Feeding Tube Selection first. This episode walks through the decision-making for which enteral formula to select based on the patient's age, protein needs, and GI function. A list of commercially available examples is listed for each age group and protein type. Fluid and caloric goals are discussed to determine if concentrated formulas are appropriate. Lastly, the process of starting continuous feeds and advancing to bolus feeds while assessing for tolerance is reviewed. Build functional skills by following along with a case study that is continued from the prior episode. It's proof that there's more than just formula that goes into tube feedings. Welcome back to The Peds NP Acute Care Faculty series! This series was created and peer-reviewed by national leaders in acute care PNP education collaborating with one another to meet the needs of our current and future colleagues. In the push for competency-based education where faculty verify the skills of what a student can do, rather than their knowledge, our series focuses on the application of didactic content with a practical approach so that you can learn nuances of clinical skills before you reach the bedside. This episode begins with a brief review of malnutrition and pediatric nutritional assessment in acute care settings. Next we begin a choose-your-own-nutrition adventure by asking a series of questions that aid in medical decision-making for which nutrition route is appropriate, and, if enteral feeding is best, then determines the type of tube indicated. A case-based discussion with examples helps you to apply the concepts to a complex scenario. Our next episode will focus on formula selection, the initiation of feeds, and assessment of tolerance. EP 612: Adam Grenda | Quitting the Dream Job, Hunting with Kids, and Selling Dick Bones
On this episode, Brennan and Sheldon sat down with the amazing coach, mentor, and badass moose hunter Tana Grenda! They talk about fitness in the outdoors, how she got started in Alaska, about her and her husband Adam being pilots, and of course some epic moose hunting stories. If you want to know more about Tana's coaching and retreats check out the links below: www.bristolbayfitness.com www.bristolbayretreats.com Stuck N The Rut on Youtube
Tana Grenda, lives in Alaska with her husband and 5 adopted kids. Tana is probably the most bad@$& woman I have ever had on the podcast. Tana fearlessly goes on solo Alaskan adventures on a regular basis and has killed some of the most impressive moose and caribou I have ever laid eyes on. On top of that, she's an entrepreneur, mother, and coach to a name a few. Tana has survived being charged by wounded grizz and packs of wolves and she tells me about all of it. Not motivated by money, Tana and her husband have built their dream life centered around health, hunting and adventure. Enjoy!
If you dream about big bull moose drifting through the alders, this episode is for you. Guest Adam Grenda, Alaska bush pilot and co-host of Stuck N The Rut on YouTube, hunter extraordinaire of giant moose, tells his story. How the passion to hunt was instilled in him at the ripe old age of three, how he found a bride with a drive to hunt and fish that equals his own, and how they moved to Alaska and found a home there. Adam and Tana's daughter Julia (age 15) just shot her first moose—a whopping 254-inch monster bull with antlers that weighed 103 pounds and stretch the tape 73 inches wide. This podcast tells her hunt story, and Adam digs deep into the gear that has proven crucial for moose-hunting success. Boots, packs, rifles, cartridges, and more. Folks, this was one of my all-time favorite conversations recorded for the podcast. ENJOY! FRIENDS, PLEASE SUPPORT THE PODCAST! For avid hunters Tana Grenda and her brother Trevor Schneider, day eight into a planned two-week bear hunt in the remote mountains of Alaska nearly turned deadly. When Trevor's rifle jammed after taking several shots at a large brown bear from 450 yards, the wounded animal sensed their location and quickly made its approach. Unable to fix the rifle jam, both Tana and Trevor literally feared for their lives as the ferocious bear came charging at them full bore.Luckily, Trevor had his trusty Taurus Raging Hunter™ revolver with him as backup and took the bear down with several well-placed shots before it could land its vicious attack.Jessie and KC sit down with Tana and Trevor as they recount their incredible, awe-inspiring story of survival in the Alaskan wilderness.

On this episode of the Salty Hunter Podcast, we have Tana Grenda, badass woman of the North. Tana lives in King Salmon way West of Anchorage. She is the mother of 6 kids, owns her own business, hosts a podcast, and is one of the more successful hunters I have had the pleasure of meeting. We touch on her bear hunt that got pretty damn western last year, her nearly world record caribou and archery moose hunt. She has been on a hot streak, and frankly, I'm jealous. We also touch on mountain fitness, ultra-running (of course), nutrition, living in the bush, her ruck challenge, hiking with the right muscles and getting your mind right for training. I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation. A million thanks to Tana for coming on. Good luck this season. Thank you all for listening. I love every damn one of you. Here's to the hunt. Amazing… that is all that can be said about this episode. We are joined by Tana Grenda to talk about life in Alaska, and maybe a couple of wild stories that go with it. Tana is an incredibly successful health coach, Mother, Wife, and Provider. She may have knocked down some of the biggest game in the world, but at the end of the day, she was out looking for meat to provide for her family. From bear scares, to getting planes stuck in the mud, her typical day is enough to make the average outdoorsman or woman pack it in and call it a day. This one is one for the ages! ----------------------------- Be sure to check out her content on: Bristol Bay Fitness – bristolbayfitness.com @tanasue_fit on Instagram Tana Grenda – Online Trainer on Facebook Stuck N the Rut podcast ----------------------------- The Outdoor Drive Podcast Official Website: Theoutdoordrive.com Be Sure to Check Out Our Partners- Gator Outdoors: gatoroutdoors.com Promo Code: Outdoordrive25 for 25% off your entire order Zues Broadheads: neweraarchery.com Latitude Outdoors: latitudeoutdoors.com Timbered Tumblers: timberedtumblers.com Nor'easter Game Calls: nor-eastergamecalls.com
Tana Grenda of Bristol Bay Fitness joins Sam on The Wild Initiative to talk about her experience huntin' Alaska. In this episode, Tana tells Sam about her bull moose bowhunt and what could only be described as hunting and being chased by a zombie bear. Later they discuss how long you should look for an animal after wounding it and what it means to be a hunter that doesn't give up and betters themselves in the outdoors by constantly getting out of comfort zones. They survived. After taking 7 bullets from two different firearms, the world class, mortally wounded alaskan brown bear finally fell just feet away from hunter Trevor Schneider and his sister, Tana. But their adventure was far from over. Now these two had to make it out. Several miles into the Alaskan wilderness with a Boone & Crockett bear on the ground, the journey for these two getting back to camp was far from over. Listen in as these two talk about the aftermath of their near-death hunting experience, and the many challenges they both overcame to make it home in one piece. This is part two of this incredible story, so if you haven't yet listened to part 1 (Episode 63), go back and do that first!
What started as an already challenging hunt for Trevor Schneider and his sister Tana, quickly turned into a horrifying life or death situation with only seconds to spare! Trevor and Tana have hunted together in Alaska many times. This was Trevor's first hunt in pursuit of a brown bear, and the two of them ended up putting a challenging stalk on a world class boar. After 4 shots with his rifle at 470 yards, Trevor's rifle jammed and things went down hill fast! Listen in as Trevor and Tana share their incredible story, leading up to only a few feet of separation between them and a charging Boone & Crockett bear with only a single revolver in hand.
Today's podcast is with the fabulous Tana Grenda from King Salmon, AK. A woman of adventure, raised to love the outdoors, mother of 6, and married her soul mate, just living the dream in Alaska. She has an amazing story to tell of her recent coastal brown bear hunt (literally just one week before we recorded this) where she feels she almost lost her life. Tana Grena and her brother Trevor Schneider recount the “this is how it ends” moments following 3 well placed shots then a jammed rifle on a 1,000+ pound Alaska Brown Bear. Running for their lives and retrieving a pistol that fell in the snow, they lived to tell the story with luck on their side and a few well placed rocks that gave them cover. We’ve all heard intense bear stories when the hunter turns into the hunted. Few will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up like this one and leave you in awe of the strength and will of the largest bears on earth.

This week we tried looking at a more recent show, the 2010 Disney XD cartoon Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil. Thank you so much to Melanie for commissioning this episode! So this episode is really touching a nerve for me this week, because I have just about had it with rich people being fucking horrible. As much as I want to just be cool and happy for Pacifica at the end, I'm still not convinced. Also, I love Grenda. Thanks for listening! See you soon with a live-watch!

This week, Devyn and Stacy both had to take an unexpected leave of absence. So, today's episode is a repeat of a fan favorite--the one that started it all, Ash Dump Archeology with special guest, Donn Grenda. The original air date was September 9, 2018. In this episode, Stacy explains how she and Andy ended up buying Blake Hill House. Also, archaeologist Donn Grenda discovers 60 year's worth of artifacts from the clogged fireplaces in his craftsman style home. Donn's discovery sparked his interest in researching the history and folklore of the times. That led to some bizarre findings and a couple of nearly famous people.
The crew has chased off the ruffians from outside Grenda's house in the dock ward, but will she have the information they seek? Find out in Episode 107: I See You. . This week Tony is FIRED UP! He gets out his soapbox and rants! He reveals what his favorite show is. Taylor Grenda stops by to join in on the conversation and inadvertently admits something. It's a fun-filled show full of laughs.
This week we're joined by Meteorologist and noted snow hater Taylor Grenda! We talk tumbleweeds, hurricanes and UFO's.
Adam Grenda is living his dream! He's a pilot for the US Government in Alaska, and lives in King Salmon. He moved there from Idaho a few years back with his wife. Since then he's made a life for himself, including purchasing his own plane and going on some epic Alaskan adventures. His wife and friends have hunted for wolves, caribou, moose, sheep and bears. On today’s very special 100th episode of Songmess, we are joined by Beverly Bryan, the original podcasting gangsta returning to occupy her rightful place on the messy throne. As Songmess co-founder and co-host, Beverly has been an integral part of the show over our nearly 3-year history, and despite taking a sabbatical at the beginning of the year, Richard’s brief visit to NYC allowed us to go in the studio together and knock out some great new episodes. Beverly has curated a playlist of some of her favorite releases from 2018 while also filling us in on her goings on and exciting new trends we should be keeping an eye on. Bem-vindos a Gravity Falls, a norte do normal e a oeste do esquisito. Everyone knows the classic story of how America was founded by pilgrims and puritans fleeing oppressive lands in search of religious freedom. The problem is that this classic story doesn't adequately relate the much messier and more interesting history of religious tolerance in the United States or elsewhere. From Roger Williams's Bloudy Tenent to today's Internet debates, the idea of [...] The post #31—Religious tolerance in American history, with Chris Beneke and Christopher Grenda [MIPodcast] appeared first on Neal A.
