When Byron The Aquarius talks about live frequencies, his enthusiasm is infectious. A keys player by trade, Byron's love for melody and harmony has consistently drawn the attention of electronic music's leading labels and producers. In 2015, Byron released a ten track solo album on BBE entitled “Planets of Love.” When he wasn't working on his own music, he was playing keys in the studio with Kai Alce. These creations got into the hands of Theo Parrish, who loved the sound of his sublime jazz-infected house and picked two tracks to release on his legendary Sound Signature label in 2016. The resulting “Highlife EP” has been hailed as “stunning”, “intoxicating” and “essential.” Fast forward to 2022 and he's launching his own label, as explained... “I made this mix to celebrate the launch of my new label Talknoi$e. I'm kicking off the first release with ‘Shroomz, Guns and Roses', inspired by the time I spent in lockdown reconnecting with myself through nature. It's out now. Check it out in the mix..”

Daz-I-Kue a Londoner now Atlantan/Nashville resident and former member of the world respected production crew and broken beat pioneers Bugz In The Attic, who have remixed the likes of Amy Winehouse, Macy Gray, Soul II Soul and 4 Hero, seen widely as one of the pioneers of the broken beat genre. A vinyl junky from the age of 5, he's a dj, producer, sound engineer and promoter, was widely seen as the hardest working man, well known in his field. His production work on Ends Productions “Are You Really From The Ends?” widely seen as one of the tracks that pioneered the grime scene. Partnering with Khari Cabral Simmons (Jiva/India Arie) has worked with some ATL's and US's finest talent including Kenya, Donnie, Trina Broussard, Anthony David, Avery Sunshine, Rhonda Thomas, Heston, Kai Alce, DJ Kemit to name a few. Daz has completed numerous projects including BB Boogie album, which was released on R2 Records, who has Osunlade, Bobbito and Karizma on their roster. Co-produced Julie Dexter's “DeJa Vu” album, has releases on Reel People's Papa Records imprint Foliage Records and legendary house label Nervous Records. At the moment has numerous exciting projects including working with well known jazz organization Jazz Re:Freshed, as well as numerous releases on his I-Kue Recordings label and Back To The Present advocacy imprint, in which revenue raised is donated directly to non-profit organizations that are doing community or civil rights work in the US and UK.About his label, I-Kue Recordings was put together by the infamous West London collective Bugz In The Attic member Daz-I- Kue. This label is an opportunity to show the depth of his musical taste from new Skool boogie to hip-hop to funky techno to raw jazz and moreAlso, its outlet to show off the potential of new artists and producers, that Daz has come across, who will be given that undoubted I-Kue polish & shine.

Jan Kincl is a Zagreb-born house and techno dj, producer, live act performer, radio host and a party promoter. Through almost two decades in all this, it’s hard to scratch the surface of electronic music in Croatia without coming across something he’s been involved with. Raised by the music of Motor City, Jan’s sound is a combination of house and techno, unmistakably rooted in the more organic and soulful side of it. In recent years, Jan’s forays into jazz became deeper, and in 2016 resulted in a collaboration with a French keyboard player Regis Kattie. The pair quickly became one of the most prominent regional acts and their debut album, a deeply jazz-informed house record ’In Plain Sight’ got described as “one of the most significant pieces of regional contemporary dance music”; with Laurent Garnier, Jazzanova, Volcov, Tony Humphries, Lefto, Claude Young and Kai Alce amongst its supporters. He's got a special ear for Jazz, House, Funk, and more; with a career spanning back to the late 80s controlling dancefloors. It was during these years and the early 90s that he DJ'd regularly in Lausanne, Switzerland; eventually establishing himself as one Switzerland's most respected DJs with his own exclusive weekly night, The Jackals. From there much success continued in Alex's legacy with several singles, remixes, collaborations, label appearances with a dynamic range of genres and artists. He's worked with artists from Sun Ra and Ennio Morricone to Laurent Garnier, Roni Size, and Madlib, and that's just a small few; so It was only natural that he have an exclusive label, and in 1999, he and his brother Stephane Attias established the record label Visions Inc., jointly in London, UK and Switzerland. Aptly named, Visions Inc provides a platform where Deep House, Jazz, Breakbeat, Soul- the Organic and the Electronic exist as one Deep Family. The label made a deep vision promptly with its first release, the excellent Future Jazz EP, produced by Alex under his Mustang alias. Visions Inc continued to establish its name and vision in the 2000s as a successful label - From 1999 to 2007, Visions Inc released music from Alex(Freedom Soundz) and his brother Stephane Attias, Plutonia (with Dego), Nanami Togarishi, Domu, and Neroli Records founder Volcov among others. Expansion also naturally occurred during this time leading to the creation of sub labels and party nights Freedom Soundz and LillyGood Party! respectively. For a few years dedication was placed to both these labels and party nights as Visions Inc didn't release directly during this period. 2017 saw the transition of Lillygood Party! from not only a party night, but sublabel of Visions Inc., dedicated to reissuing fully licensed edits Stephane & Alex made in rare Jazz, Disco, House and any other groovy stuff, several of which they played at the famous and ongoing Lillygood party events. In addition, Visions Inc returned strong with releases from some of the best in Deep House including: Alex Attias himself, Anthony Nicholson, Trinidadian Deep, Lars Bartkhun, Javonntte, Patrice Scott, Hanna, and Kai Alce just to give an idea of the vast quality this label has curated recently, as Visions Inc, continues keep the standard high for over 20 years strong. Alex Attias's taste and demand is still as high as ever, as when it comes to moving the crowd with both vintage and new, he is always clever. Juraj aka Urban Haven @urbanhaven is a DJ and producer from Eastern Europe, influenced by the funky and soulful house sounds of Glenn Underground and Ron Trent. Publishing his mixes online somehow got him international recognition as a DJ and after relocating himself to London, he also got involved in the local house music scene. Through his involvement with various radio stations that syndicated the Urban Haven radioshow, he's decided to explore more and developed a taste for the sophisticated fusion of electronic music and live instruments. After years of collecting and playing music for others, Urban Haven decided to contribute to the scene as a producer and we are pleased to share with you his debut release "Human Experience EP" on Just 4 The Beat Records @just4thebeat-records. Just 4 The Beat Records is an independent label founded in 2015 and run by Alix John, based in east london, suppling both vinyl & digital releases. Alix and Juraj met at that time in a party and their mutual appreciation for the music was the catalyst for a connection which then developed into a solid friendship . With strong support from the likes of Mike Huckaby & Kai Alce, this project is finaly brought to life in the form of a physical release. This mix was recorded about 3 years ago, but I still really like the music I put together in this particular mix... and now I want to release the mix here on Avenue Red, where I think it finally belongs. I had no particular idea for this mix. I spontaneously selected 3-4 current tracks from 2014 and the rest are tracks from different decades. But I always say: it does not matter from which decade track comes, only the quality counts. Here you will find tracks from 1990 to 2014 which all fit together very well. I use many tracks from true Chicago and Detroit legends: Derrick Carter, Dez Andres, Scott Grooves, Kai Alce, Mike Grant, Glenn Underground and many more. It’s fair to say that Kai Alce is an underrated artist. Not only does he turn out a consistent stream of tunes on top labels, but he also oversees NDATL Muzik, one of the most fawned over deep house labels out there. He has actually been active since 2002, and his heartfelt brand of house has always embodied elements of New York, Detroit and Chicago, as well as his Atalanta homeland. It sounds unmistakably alive and irresistibly soulful and has come on labels like FXHE, Mahogani Music and Finale Sessions. As a lynchpin of the Atlanta scene, he and his peers are only just starting to get some of the wider recognition they deserve. The mix he offers us here showcases his impeccable taste and takes in jazzy house styles, loose party jams and vocal groovers that are deliciously deep. Romantic and richly coloured, it’s a set for lovers of laidback grooves and proper musicality. Given the time of year, the whole thing seems to glow like Christmas lights on a festive winter night, so stick it on, warm up some mulled wine and get on down.
