The beginning of a new year is the perfect time to review your systems for marketing and fundraising. But as you evaluate your processes, it's equally important — if not more — to also evaluate how you measure success and improvement in your programs. Of course, it takes more than just logging into Google Analytics. In this episode of Fundraising Today and the Go Beyond Fundraising podcast, we're counting the Five Fundraising Measurement Mistakes to Avoid in 2024. Allegiance Group + Pursuant agency leaders Liz Murphy, EVP of Client Relationships, and Kim Richardson, AVP of Client Strategy, share what they've learned in their years of experience and with clients so you can better measure your digital channels. These are the most common pitfalls fundraisers and markets can fall into: 1. Not having a measurement mark 2. No system set up for channel attribution 3. No way to integrate data across platforms 4. Not having web analytics set up properly 5. Not being prepared for the ever-changing digital landscape

When it comes to year-end campaigns, sometimes it's hard to know how to integrate digital fundraising alongside direct mail. How often should you post about a year-end campaign on each of your social media platforms? Is it okay to send donors, potential donors, and lapsed donors an email and a direct mail ask in November and December? How does your organization's website play a part in digital conversations? In this week's installment of “Year-End in July,” we'll answer these questions and explore how you can leverage digital fundraising with guests Ashleigh Lambert, Kacey Crawford, and Kim Richardson. After all, integration can seamlessly happen between all the different elements, and our team at Pursuant and Allegiance Groups are happy to guide you through the process.
Kim Richardson shares with us what it looks like to love others the way Jesus loves us. How to be the friend that sticks closer than a brother. How to step out of our comfort zones and go the extra mile to love like Jesus loves.

As we approach the final months of 2022, we know many of you will be focusing on your year-end campaigns. And as the threat of a global recession looms large, you may be looking for ways to tighten spending. Stewardship is often one of the programs to be scaled back. In this episode, we're talking with David Sacchetti, Director of Client Strategy, and Kim Richardson, an Associate Vice President of Client Strategy, about why continuing stewardship is more important than ever. They're also sharing creative ways you can steward your donors without breaking your budget. For instance, skip your customary holiday mailing in favor of a simple but thoughtful email or text. A video message from your executive director or CEO can feel personalized, even if it's being sent to your full list. The COVID-19 pandemic led more and more people to embrace technology and adopt social media channels, so don't shy away from communicating this way. Social media donor spotlights and video thank you messages are just a few ways you can easily reach large groups of people. The best part? These methods come with little-to-no cost. The end of the year is also an ideal time to survey your donors, which will help them feel connected to your organization. In fact, Kim shares an example of one client who raised $40,000 with a straightforward, no-ask survey. Another way to get donor feedback and build a community is to start a Facebook group. We'll also share some recent donor outreach we've personally received to inspire you. But no matter how you choose to thank your supporters, the chief thing to remember is the best stewardship touch is one that makes the donor feel important. And that doesn't have to cost a thing.
