Life is a battle. Not just the obvious battles we see around us, but the deeper battles that shape who we become. On this episode of Like It Matters Radio, Mr. Black explores the six battles every person will face: Man vs. Nature – the unexpected storms of life Man vs. Man – conflict with others Man vs. Society – the pressure to conform Man vs. Himself – the internal war between fear and faith The Spiritual Battle – the unseen struggle between light and darkness The Battle for Identity – the greatest battle of all, because who you believe you are determines how you fight every other battle. Joining Mr. Black is Lt. Col. Phil Cochran, a retired Air Force F-16 fighter pilot, pastor, and author of Lessons Learned at the Speed of Sound. Drawing from years in the cockpit and years behind the pulpit, Lt. Col. Cochran shares how the disciplines required to fly a fighter jet reveal powerful spiritual truths about faith, courage, pressure, failure, and perseverance. LIM Radio s11e29 In the Fight of your life Outline.docx Together they discuss: Why even a one-degree drift can lead to disaster over time The importance of spiritual disciplines in staying on course Preparing for life’s battles before they arrive Why Scripture is our Critical Action Procedure when spiritual emergencies strike How proper preparation prevents poor performance Mr. Black also challenges listeners to become Powerful, Peaceful, and Present warriors—leaders who remain calm under pressure, disciplined in their actions, and fully aware of the people and opportunities God places before them. This isn’t just a conversation about aviation. It’s about leadership. It’s about faith. It’s about identity. Because the greatest battle you’ll ever fight isn’t against your circumstances. It’s the battle for who you believe you are. This is an Hour of Power for anyone ready to stop drifting, stand firm, and fight the good fight of faith. Inspiration. Education. Application. When you live your life like it matters… it does.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The headlines change every day, but the spiritual battle behind them remains the same. When a culture begins redefining truth, calling good evil and evil good, the consequences don't stay confined to politics. They show up in families, communities, schools, churches, and every part of society. Scripture has never separated the condition of a nation from the condition of its people, and history repeatedly shows what happens when God's wisdom is exchanged for human philosophy. If you've been wondering how current events fit into a biblical worldview, or why so many cultural changes seem connected, this conversation offers Scripture, historical perspective, and encouragement to stand firm in faith while navigating the days ahead.Subscribe for more conversations that connect current events, Bible prophecy, and a biblical worldview.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What does it look like, not only to know the truth and walk in it, but to stand firm in it? As we'll see in the final few verses of Paul's letter to the Ephesians, God gives us all we need!

We're so glad you are here! Thanks for checking out Sunday's message!-- SUNDAY'S NOTES --Some battles are easy to run from! (Skunks are one of them)Not every battle is that easy. There are battles that show up in in the deepest parts of you, Battles that threaten your family/your faith and your future! These are Spiritual Battles! What if not every battle is meant to be escaped?Because not every battle comes from the same place! We all face these, And we find ourselves wrestling with the aftermath! (And God Fights with and for us as a compassionate Friend as we lean on His strength) There are battles that come, not because you've disobeyed God, but because you've obeyed Him.Battles that find you while you're walking in surrender.Battles that come because you're exactly where God wants you to be. Takeaway: Gods Promises are not without Perils!Every step of the way toward the place that God had promised Joshua, There is an enemy rising up! Joshua was human, he must have laid eyes on that vast army and wondered the same thing! Why all these battles God?Joshua 11:20a(nkjv) For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they(The Enemy) should come against Israel in battle, Because you can't walk in darkness and light at the same time!God knew something Joshua didn't know…and He knows something that you dont know:Takeaway: If you dont completely destroy your enemy, your enemy has the lingering potential to destroy you! Joshua's enemies were flesh and blood-ours are…AnxietyFearAddictionLustHopelessness/DepressionBitterness/OffenseGrief that we let control usPrideDivisionUnforgivenessDisappointmentEach of these are designed and assigned to take us out! These enemies that come against us are not for us to coexist with, but to conquer! Not to cohabitate with, but to completely/utterly destroy.Gods Policy…Leave no trace… of lust/fear/pride/envy…Fight not just until you get the upper hand, but until they are destroyed! No Trace!A little leaven, a little bit left can grow! Little compromises become Addictions. Little pride becomes a Poison. Little fears become Prisons. Little Lusts become Flames of Dark Desire!Takeaway: The enemies you don't defeat will lurk in the shadows of your life, gaining strength and will be a constant threat to your future and your family!Even with God on their side it was a process!Dont get discouraged in the process! Don't you get weary in the fight!Don't you give up-Dont you Quit! You are destined to fight and you are destined to win but you cannot win without a war! God wants us to walk in complete freedom! How do you walk in freedom from every enemy that rises up against you?How do you protect your family from the enemy?Be Strong and Very CourageousWhen the enemy comes…You stand up and fight…In the strength of the Lord! You keep Worshiping/Keep Surrendering/Praising/Praying/Reading/Crying out to God/Staying accountable/Fall down get back up/Running Back-Staying close to Jesus/Determine to grow(even if its slow) and dont you dare quit!Joshua is old-he is about to move to his eternal home he has realized not everyone obeyed the words of the Lord completely to destroy their enemies. Some remnants of enemies were allowed to remain in the land.So he gave them this warning:Joshua 23:12,13That's exactly what happened! (Judges)The enemies that were allowed to stay, who were not defeated, eventually led Gods People into deep idolatry and all kinds of evil sins that destroyed many! How do you know you are in danger? When you are friends with enemies God told you to destroy! What about you? Is their something you know is an enemy you are allowing to live in your heart? Something You have quit fighting and started coexisting with that is displeasing to God?This is not a game-You cannot toy/play with things God said to stay away from, the things that God said to drive out/destroy.If we are honest all of us have some enemies we are letting linger in our lives, we all have some business to take care of with Jesus this morning. The good news, today we can lean into Jesus, we can repent of any and all areas of darkness we have allowed to remain in our lives that do not line up with Gods word and we can walk out of here with a fresh start/ clean and re-engaged in a victorious battle over every enemy that threatens us and our families! -------------------------------------------------Download the 828 Church app!To view our latest e-newsletter, the Midweek Momentum, and subscribe to our weekly updates, go here! https://linktr.ee/828church

Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Your day is getting formed before you even realize it and your phone is usually the one doing the forming. We walk through a simple on-ramp to the Claymore Battle Plan that cuts through the confusion and gives you a clear starting line you can actually stick with.We break down the two key resources the Claymore Battle Plan is built around: the Handbook and the Battle Plan Outline (only a few pages). From there, we give you two daily actions. First is the Claymore 10-minute morning ritual, anchored by one rule that changes everything: “knees before the phone.” Second is reading one short Act each day, letting it sink in with a real pause so it moves from your head to your heart. We also highlight Act 11 as a practical guide for praying with temptations when the pressure is real.If you're doing Claymore with a friend, a fraternity, or a parish men's group, we explain why one Act at a time creates better conversations and long-term momentum. Begin today! Then share it with one guy who needs it. Subscribe, leave a review, and send this to a friend!Visit Claymore Watch on our YouTube ChannelSupport the show
We are engaged in a spiritual conflict, so we must purposefully arm ourselves with spiritual strength.
Hour of Power with Bobby Schuller at Shepherd's Grove Presbyterian Church
Pastor Bobby teaches that enduring faith is built on hearing God's voice consistently, not just in crisis moments. Embrace the call to believe God's promises and give Him time to work miracles in our lives, with today's message: "How to Win Every Spiritual Battle."
If we learn to see with spiritual eyes, we begin to recognize a battle unfolding all around us. It is not a conflict over land or power, but a struggle for something far more precious than either: you. --- Help Spread the Good News --- Father Brian's homilies are shared freely thanks to generous listeners like you. If his words have blessed you, consider supporting this volunteer effort. Every gift helps us continue recording and sharing the hope of Jesus—one homily at a time. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Gen Z men are walking back into church, and it isn't because they found a new self-help Podcast. They're waking up to the cost of the culture's false promises and they're hungry for something real: truth, mission, meaning and purpose and a Faith that restores the heart. From there, the spiritual backdrop that sets the present stage we find ourselves in, when Pope Leo XIII overhead the chilling dialogue between Satan and Our Lord coming forth from the tabernacle. To get an understanding of why the last century felt like a pressure cooker of war, corruption, and the breakdown of marriage and family...and why I believe grace is loosening the enemy's grip in our moment. Then we get practical with the Claymore Battle Plan: a three-step blueprint that begins in the human heart, restores human dignity, clarifies the meaning of sexuality through the beauty of marriage and family, and sends us out to rebuild culture and nation. John Paul II's voice runs through it all, especially his “be not afraid,” his Theology of the Body, and his insistence that the future of humanity passes through the family. We anchor the fight in Ephesians 6, because this is not against flesh and blood and we need the full armor of God.You'll also hear exactly how to use the Claymore handbook, the free six-page outline, and this podcast as a three-legged formation rhythm, plus the daily habit that makes it real: the 10 minute morning ritual, knees before the phone. Today, on Karl and Crew, we wrapped up our weekly theme, "Temptation," by discussing various temptations with experts in their fields and how they overcome them. Dr. Winfred Neely joined us to discuss the temptation to manage worry in our own strength. He explained the difference between worry and concern and how believers can experience God’s peace by drawing near to Him in faith. Dr. Neely is Professor Emeritus of Old Testament, Biblical Interpretation, and Preaching at Moody Bible Institute and author of "How to Overcome Worry – Experiencing the Peace of God in Every Situation." Dr. Michael Rydelnik also joined us to talk about spiritual conflict in the Middle East, the danger of remaining silent in the face of evil, and how believers can stand firm by reading, meditating on, and speaking the Word of God. Dr. Rydelnik is Professor Emeritus of Jewish Studies and Bible and an Adjunct Professor in the undergraduate program at Moody Bible Institute. He is the author of "How Should Christians Think About Israel?" Omer Eshel joined us from Israel to discuss the reported protests in Gaza against Hamas. He explained how many Palestinian civilians are seeking freedom from Hamas’ control, urging believers to pray for peace, protection, and the people caught in the middle. Omer is the CEO and Co-founder of The Bible Comes to Life Travel and Educational Center. We then opened the phone lines to hear from our listeners and posed the question, “What temptation has God given you victory over?” You can catch the highlights of today’s program on the Karl and Crew Showcast If you're looking to hear a particular segment from the show, look at the following time stamps:Dr. Winfred Neely [ 44:34 ]Dr. Michael Rydelnik [ 13:38 ]Omer Eshel [ 7:04 ]Caller Segment [ 32:27 ]Donate to Moody Radio: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/morningshowSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”America is nearing its 250th birthday, but the argument I can't shake is this: you don't lose a country all at once, and you lose it from the inside out. I walk through why the real conflict isn't simply left versus right, but a spiritual struggle over truth, the human heart, and the meaning of the human person. When a culture embraces moral relativism and treats God as optional, “freedom” declines into tyranny...and it is the most vulnerable, especially children, who suffer the most. From Solzhenitsyn's warning that “men have forgotten God” to Poland's quiet resistance through faith, language, and family life, we look at what actually preserves a nation's soul when institutions wobble. The biggest battles in life are the spiritual battles we face against fear, temptation, distraction, discouragement, and the lies that try to pull us away from God. While these struggles especially connect to what men are facing today, the truth and practical help from God's Word will speak to women and families, too.

The biggest battles in life are the spiritual battles we face against fear, temptation, distraction, discouragement, and the lies that try to pull us away from God. While these struggles especially connect to what men are facing today, the truth and practical help from God's Word will speak to women and families, too.
Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Watching everyone else walk up for Communion while you stay in the pew does something to you. Our guest, Jack Ray, describes that exact moment as the spark that turned curiosity into a serious search for truth and eventually a conversion to the Catholic Church. He grew up in the Wheaton, Illinois area with a mostly positive view of Christianity, but with faith that felt distant and Catholicism that came with plenty of misinformation. Then friendships, sports, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes reopened the door to Jesus and to the biggest question: which form of Christianity actually makes sense of the world? The conversation turns to brotherhood and accountability. We unpack the difference between friends who are “good to you” and friends who are “good for you,” especially when men are battling pornography, drinking habits, and the slow drift that can crush marriages and families. If you're hungry for real freedom, real truth, and a community of men who will sharpen you, listen through to the end for an invitation to Claymore Milites Christi. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”A revolution can start with noble words and still end in terror. So why did the American Revolution produce a durable constitutional republic instead of the familiar slide into chaos and tyranny? We sit down with Tom Hampson to unpack the claim that America's founding is a “minority miracle” and why the Declaration of Independence makes what may be the most consequential political statement in history: our rights are God-given, not government-granted. From there, we follow the hard logic that comes with it. If rights don't come from the state, the state's job is limited. If rights do come from the state, then power can redefine them, revoke them, and punish dissent whenever it gains a majority.Along the way, we compare America's path with revolutions in France, Russia, China, Cuba, and Iran, and we talk about how revolutions often consolidate power, weaponize “justice,” and devour their own. Read the Article Here on Tom's SubstackWe also wrestle with present-day fault lines: corruption and dependency, censorship and selective enforcement, voting rules and public trust, and the deeper question of whether a society can remain free without civic virtue. We tie it to the personal level through Solzhenitsyn's insight that the battle between good and evil runs through every human heart, and we ask what courage looks like after recent cultural tests like COVID-era fear and professional retaliation for speaking up.If you care about natural rights, limited government, civic virtue, and the future of American freedom, this conversation is a gut-check and a call to think clearly. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”A former Anglican Priest says, “I lost the argument,” and somehow that turns into a battle for truth, conscience, and coming home. Kevin Middlesworth joins us to share the winding road from a devoted evangelical childhood, through Calvinist and Reformed theology, into Anglican priesthood, and finally into full communion with the Catholic Church. We talk about the moment when so many Christians hit a wall: the authority question. Who gets to say what Scripture means, what the Eucharist really is, and what the moral life demands? Kevin describes the hidden exhaustion of being your own final judge, the “crushing weight” of trying to carry every doctrine alone. From there, we follow the breadcrumbs that led him to the Church Fathers, the Catechism, and St. John Henry Newman's insight on conscience as God's persistent voice. This is not just an intellectual conversion story. Kevin opens up about marriage, friendship, and the real cost of changing course, plus why he refused to pressure his wife while she wrestled with the same Catholic claims. Eucharistic adoration, Confession, the Rosary, the Liturgy of the Hours, and the surprising discovery that what once looked like “extra's” is actually God's abundance. If you're curious about Catholicism, returning to the faith, or trying to find solid ground in a noisy culture, come listen. After former satanist Jordan Nettleton quit psychedelics and entered rehab, he expected peace. Instead, while completely sober, the darkness intensified: paranormal activity, sleep paralysis, demonic attacks, and a terrifying out-of-body experience. In his most desperate moment, Jordan cried out: "Jesus, please save me." His life completely changed after that... Content note: This conversation is shared as a testimony and a warning. Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing the tragic state of the modern world. From the protests in Ireland to growing frustration across Western nations, many people feel as though their voices are no longer being heard by the institutions that claim to represent them. I'll share why I support the right of people to protest and why I believe the demonstrations in Ireland have resonated with so many people around the world. We'll also discuss what I see as a deeper spiritual crisis affecting modern society. Many of the political, cultural, and social problems we face today are symptoms of a broader moral and spiritual decline, one that cannot be solved through politics alone. In this episode:My thoughts on the protests in IrelandWhy so many citizens now feel disconnected from their governmentsThe growing divide between ordinary people and powerful institutionsThe role of faith, morality, and personal responsibility in rebuilding societyWhy I believe many of today's crises point to a deeper spiritual battleWhether you agree or disagree, this episode is an invitation to think critically about the direction of our culture, our governments, and our future.--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app

Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Confusion spreads fastest where people most need clarity, and right now a lot of young adults are walking back into the Catholic Church because they are done with half answers. Jack sits down with Father Brian Gannon, pastor of St Teresa Church in Connecticut and executive director of Courage International, to talk about truth, mercy, and the spiritual battle surrounding sexuality and discipleship. We explain what Courage International actually is: a Church-sanctioned apostolate serving men and women who experience same-sex attraction and who freely choose to live according to Catholic teaching. Father Gannon directly answers an accusation that surfaced around the Synod on Synodality's “study group #9,” namely that Courage promotes reparative or conversion therapy. He calls that claim false and lays out Courage's real mission: chastity, friendship, prayer, formation, and sacramental life, plus EnCourage support for parents and loved ones who want to stay faithful while loving well.If you want a serious, compassionate, and plain-spoken Catholic conversation about same-sex attraction, chastity, and the truth that sets us free, press play. Today's Promise: Psalm 37:39-40 Do you ever feel like you're under attack? Like the pressures, temptations, and challenges of life have placed a target on your back? In today's episode, we explore and discover the security that belongs to every believer who takes refuge in the Lord. God is not only the One who saves us for eternity, but He is also our present help in times of trouble. When spiritual battles rage and the enemy seems determined to discourage or defeat you, God invites you to run to Him as your stronghold and place of safety. Just as ancient fortified cities protected their citizens from attack, the Lord surrounds His children with His care, protection, and deliverance. Join me as we unpack this encouraging promise and learn to walk in faith instead of fear, confident that our Heavenly Father is our refuge, defender, and deliverer in every battle we face.
Life is full of storms, uncertainty, and chaos, but biblical peace isn't found in the absence of trouble. It's found in the presence of Jesus. In Week 3 of our Armor Up series, we explore the Sandals of Peace from Ephesians 6 and discover how the gospel gives us firm footing when life feels unstable. Through Peter walking on water, the disciples in the storm, and the promise of God's peace, we're reminded that standing firm starts with fixing our eyes on Jesus.
What does it take to keep grinding when the stadium lights fade, your organization is no longer behind you, and you are left facing a grueling two-year recovery entirely on your own? In this powerful episode of Very Bold Radio and Podcast, host Steve Teel sits down for a dynamic third interview with professional baseball pitcher and certified flamethrower, Jacob Coats. After touching an unofficial 101 MPH on the radar gun and pitching within the Houston Astros organization, Jacob faced a career-altering hurdle: a torn UCL ligament requiring major Tommy John surgery. Jacob opens up about the silent, lonely two-year battle of rehabilitation without a team holding him accountable, the profound mental and spiritual warfare he faced in empty training facilities, and the unique motivating factors—including family, his fiancee Emily, and the future dream of playing catch with his own children—that kept him from walking away. Fast forward to last season: signed by the Gary SouthShore RailCats, Jacob transitioned into a dominant new role as a true, high-adrenaline closer. He shares what it felt like to lock down 13 saves, post a 2.89 ERA, hold opposing hitters to a staggering .195 average, and ultimately earn a spot at the 2025 American Association All-Star Game. Beyond the stats, this conversation pulls back the curtain on the raw reality of independent baseball—from 11-hour overnight bus rides and bed bugs to the incredible power of stadium chaplains and team prayers. More than anything, Jacob shares how he uses his baseball platform not for personal glory, but as a bold testament to God’s healing power and presence. Key Takeaways & Highlights The Mental & Spiritual Battle of Rehab: Jacob details the deep isolation of a two-year recovery outside of affiliated ball, explaining how he leaned on the power of prayer and explicitly rebuked negative thoughts to protect his mind during the hardest days. Thriving Under Pressure in the 9th: Discover the strict, granular 12-to-14-hour daily routine of an independent ball player and why Jacob thrives on the "do-or-die" adrenaline of slamming the door shut as a closer. The Reality of the "Indy Ball" Grind: A candid look at the unglamorous side of chasing a dream, featuring late-night drives, hostile hotel environments, and the deep player camaraderie built through shared struggle. America's Pastime as a Platform: Why baseball serves as a unique bridge for patriotism, family connection, and spreading the Gospel. A Full-Circle All-Star Moment: Jacob recalls his favorite highlights from the past season, including closing out a spectacular Friday night game with his parents on the field to watch the fireworks with him for the first time since his surgery. Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”The strangest part of modern life is how easy it is to forget where we are. We sip coffee, scroll a phone, and act like reality is neutral, while the deeper story keeps moving under our feet. We step back and look at awe and wonder, not as a mood, but as a doorway into meaning, order, and purpose in creation and in the human body.We make a hard claim with practical consequences: the decisive battle of our age centers on the human heart, life, and marriage and family. Through a Catholic lens shaped by Scripture, the Trinity, and Catholic social teaching, we discover that marriage and family are not just one issue among many. They are foundational, a living sign of self-giving love, and that's exactly why they're attacked in culture, law, and even through confusing “pastoral” language that drifts from clear moral teaching. We also talk about synodality, the limits of accompaniment, and why “lived experience” can't replace the deposit of faith without leaving people more lost. Are you seeking the "Truth of Things" or do you have a desire to help young people? An in-depth study of 2 Chronicles 18:28-20:21.
Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”A single question can dismantle years of certainty: who decides what counts as Scripture in the first place? That's where Cooper White's journey gets gripping, because it wasn't powered by rebellion or a bad church experience. He and his wife were raised in loving evangelical families, deeply involved in ministry, and genuinely devoted to Jesus. But while serving in youth ministry and later studying theology at Wheaton, Cooper kept running into a problem that would not go away: authority. If Christians disagree on core doctrines, if interpretations multiply endlessly, and if even the biblical canon requires a decision, what holds the Church together in Truth?Suffering brought the questions down to the heart. When Cooper's wife faced Lyme disease, Catholic teaching on redemptive suffering, alongside voices like Relevant Radio and real Catholic families living the faith, made the Church feel not like a system of restrictions but a home with sacraments, confession, and a liturgical rhythm strong enough to carry a family when life breaks. If you're wrestling with unity, truth, the Eucharist, or the fear that one hard question could unravel everything, this conversation gives you a clearer path forward. In this message from The Beatitudes, Angie Richey teaches from Matthew 5:5 that meekness is power under control. Meekness is not weakness, but strength submitted to God, emotional regulation, holy restraint, and trust that God can defend, heal, and lead us without our need to dominate, retaliate, or control every outcome.Click here to view the episode transcript. You don't have to be afraid.” That encounter set him on a path of boldness—leading him into war zones, Bible smuggling, and fearless ministry. (04:30) – The Global Church Is Exploding Ryan explains how the church is growing faster today than at any point in history, especially in places considered unsafe, unreached, and under-resourced. (10:30) – Learning from the Global Church Ryan challenges Western believers to sit at the feet of persecuted Christians: (12:30) – The Power of Prayer in Leadership Ryan shares research revealing that many Western leaders pray less as they gain experience—contrary to Jesus' example of withdrawing more often to be with the Father. The book Lead with Prayer was born out of hundreds of interviews with global leaders whose prayer lives looked remarkably similar. (15:00) – Mama Rose's Story One of the most moving testimonies: a woman whose home was bombed seven times, who stared down a cobra while bombs fell, and who now cares for thousands of orphans. Her prayer habit? “I tithe my time—two and a half hours with Jesus every day.” (17:30) – Prayer as Friendship with Jesus From war zones to Wall Street, Ryan highlights how true prayer is rooted in relationship: (19:16) – Walking with God Daily Reagan reflects on her own prayer walks and how they mirror the global church's simple yet profound practice of abiding in Christ. 20:59Walking with God: A Return to Eden Ryan reflects on Genesis and Acts 3, describing how sin interrupted our walk with God—and how Christ restores it. “Repent and believe… so the cool of the day may return.” 23:14Crisis & Nightmares: The Catalyst for Change During COVID, Ryan's business collapsed—and his daughter was tormented by terrifying nightmares connected to their ministry. 24:08“You've Never Cried Alone” Ryan recounts an emotional encounter with Jesus. He sees Christ weeping with him—a moment that reveals the deep empathy of God. 28:25Jesus Weeps With Us The host reflects on a past ministry experience where someone saw Jesus weeping with a rape survivor—prompting a powerful conversation on the mystery of suffering and Christ's compassion. “Jesus is weeping with you. He continually intercedes for us.” 30:28Adoption, War, and Jesus' Presence Ryan shares the harrowing story of adopting a girl whose father was tortured in Myanmar. After surviving unimaginable trauma, she experienced a healing vision of Jesus telling her: “You're safe now.” 31:55From Night Terrors to Peace Since that moment with Jesus, she has not had a single night terror. Though still healing, the transformation began in one moment of divine presence. 32:18God's Special Grace for the Vulnerable Ryan and the host reflect on how children—especially those with special needs or trauma—often experience heaven in unique, personal ways. “Why would we think otherwise? Our God is so good.” 33:22Karma vs. the Gospel: Identity and Worth in Nepal Ryan explains how Hindu and Buddhist worldviews contribute to generational oppression and trafficking—especially among the Badi people in Nepal, known nationally as “the trafficked caste.” “Until the gospel comes in and transforms their identity… they believe they deserve to be abused.” 34:48The Gospel is Exploding Despite deep-rooted oppression, the gospel is transforming hearts around the world. One academic missions expert summed it up: “Jesus is crushing it.” 36:47When Prayer Doesn't Make Sense (But You Obey Anyway) Even when the Spirit's answer seems illogical, obedience is the path of wisdom and safety. 38:13When Partners Are Imprisoned or Martyred Heart-wrenching updates from global partners, some of whom are jailed or martyred for sharing the gospel. “We created a separate fund for the widows of martyred and imprisoned partners.” 38:46Their Prayer: Let the Gospel Go Fast Despite persecution, these leaders pray not for safety but for speed—that the good news would spread rapidly. 40:02Stop Selling, Start Loving The global church models evangelism not as performance or pressure, but as presence, prayer, and love. “In America, we don't pray as much and feel like we need to be salesmen.” 40:36 — Neuroscience and Prayer Habits Research shows: 20 minutes of prayer a day for 8 weeks can literally rewire your brain—reducing fear, anxiety, and increasing joy and openness. “Our bodies are wired to fight prayer. We have to train them.” 41:49 — Free Prayer Tools Ryan mentions free downloadable prayer habit cards at LeadWithPrayer.com, designed to help individuals, families, and ministries build consistent, life-giving prayer rhythms. 43:06 — Fighting for His Daughter in Prayer Ryan shares a personal, vulnerable story of laying face-down outside his daughter's room for months, praying for breakthrough. “I don't know why it took so long—but there is a war.” 43:45 — Spiritual Battles Are Real A chilling moment of spiritual connection: a man in South East Asia has identical nightmares to Ryan's daughter—confirming they were fighting the same battle from across the world. “We were fighting together.” 46:22 — With Him, Either Way Whether through cancer, trauma, or unanswered prayer, being with Jesus is always the goal. The joy of the global church often comes from this eternal mindset. “If the goal of life is to be like Jesus, then cancer was finishing school.” 47:57 — Your Kids Aren't Your Own Surrendering your children to God's leadership is painful—but essential. Whether it's through a miracle or a challenge, they are gifts to steward. “The gifts are both miracles and challenges.” 52:04 — Intimacy Through Surrender The most profound joy comes not from ease, but from intimacy with God in suffering. Every story in Lead With Prayer ends the same way: it was worth it, because He was there. “Desire His presence… even when you don't know what's next.”
