"I think there are a lot of athletes out there that are just so scared to show who they truly are and what they like because of their teammates and their coaches. And they're trying to get to the next level, and they're like, 'Oh well, if I like this then I'm not gonna get to the next level.' It's actually the opposite. You're probably gonna play better if you show who you truly are, because you're more free." Everyone loves Jackson Olson. The Savannah Bananas infielder is on a mission to make baseball more fun — and he's doing just that. Jackson has made a name for himself playing Banana Ball, which is like the baseball version of the Harlem Globetrotters. The exhibition-style games include full-on performances with choreography, lip syncing, and walk-ups designed to delight the sold-out stadium crowds. In this conversation, Jackson talks about his road to the Bananas, and his road to becoming a runner. This fall, Jackson ran his first race — the Disney Wine & Dine 5K — and now he's training for a 10K in January while figuring out how running fits into his busy baseball season. "What if I told you none of it was accidental?" On this special NYE edition, we're revisiting our Parallel Songs episode, which means you're getting six show-and-tell songs instead of three! In this episode, we explore the concept of parallel songs in Taylor Swift's discography, focusing on thematic and lyrical connections between pairs of songs. We discuss the similarities between the carefree hangout vibes of “22” and the more mature perspective of letting loose in “Bejeweled”; the contrasting views of fate in “Invisible String” and agency in “Mastermind”. And, we take a technical lens to the songs “Labyrinth” and “You're Losing Me”, highlighting how they embody experiences of love and loss.

A line-by-line analysis of "Opalite" from Life of a Showgirl. This episode examines themes of repetition, emotional hunger, endurance, and transformation, using the song's imagery to explore what it means to survive the storm and see the sky differently afterward — without biography or speculation.
This is a compilation that I've been wanting to put together for a while now. Dirty Disco remixing Taylor Swift is a dance floor match made in heaven. I have been so fortunate that Mark has given me advance copies of some of his remixes, not just for Taylor but for artists across the board. He is a very generous man and I think he knows how much I appreciate it and love him for it. This set has been several years in the making and features songs from Taylor's discography ranging from "Love Story and "Fearless" right through to "The Fate Of Ophelia" from her current hit album "The Life Of A Showgirl". Mark's mixes always add so much drive and energy to her songs. He can take a ballad and turn it into a dance floor anthem and he always leaves me thinking 'how the hell did he do that'? A couple of my all time favourite TS songs are featured here "Blank Space", "Message In A Bottle" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". I'm going to nudge Mark into remixing "Out Of The Woods" and I'll be even happier. This is my final podcast for 2025 and I'm happy to be using the awesome combination of Taylor Swift and Dirty Disco to farewell 2025. Happy New Year. Be safe. DEEP DIVE for Past Week - Next Week 12-28-2025 hosted by Chris, Paul, and Boogie. The hosts critique the Kansas City Chiefs' relocation to Kansas, condemning the public subsidy and the perceived betrayal of the local community by billionaire owners. Personal anecdotes follow, including holiday traditions, family illnesses, and modern dining experiences like Korean hot pot. The trio also reflects on pop culture highlights of the year, discussing Taylor Swift's engagement and the film adaptation of Wicked. Finally, they share New Year's resolutions focused on physical fitness, mindfulness, and decluttering their personal lives for 2026.

To wrap up 2025, Hongbin Jeong and Alexandra Parada revisit the viral moments that truly defined the year online on What’s Trending. Pop culture went into overdrive when Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce got engaged, a crossover romance so big it united Swifties, sports fans and the internet at large; a seemingly harmless Coldplay kiss-cam moment spiralled into a global scandal when two uncomfortable concertgoers were identified as a married tech CEO and his company’s HR head, sparking resignations and debates over privacy, power and public shaming; the world’s most famous museum was rocked by a bold daylight heist at the Louvre, with crown jewels worth over US$100 million still missing even as new security measures were rushed in; and back home, Singapore’s GE2025 proved that politics and memes now go hand in hand, as campaign moments were remixed into viral songs, TikToks and WhatsApp forwards that sometimes travelled faster than the actual policy debates.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On this post-holiday Pregame episode of the Calm Down podcast, Erin and Charissa talk about the one thing about Christmas that they don't like; that it ends. That, along with the process of finding places to store all the Christmas plates! Another question leads to a discussion about being comfortable with your own journey and the challenge of trying to see the positives of that journey in the moment. They talk about what they would do if they could do another job for a week - Charissa would like to be a kindergarten teacher and Erin would like to come back as a dancer on Taylor Swift’s next tour. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour shattered records, becoming the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, redefining what's possible and confirming a new era in the business of touring. As streaming transformed how we listen to music, selling records is no longer the financial centrepiece it once was for artists. Instead, exclusivity has been transferred to the live experience. But staging shows on this scale requires enormous investment and complex production. At the same time, ticket scarcity fuels extraordinary demand and rising prices, which mean big ticket prices.Tanya Beckett explores how technology, fandom and economics turn modern concert tours into multi-billion-dollar ventures. This week on The Inquiry, we're asking: How did music megatours become such a money spinner?Contributors Kevin Kim, Head of Asia at music distribution company Route Note, Seoul, South KoreaSerona Elton, professor at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, United StatesAdam Behr, Reader and Head of Music at Newcastle University, United KingdomPoppy Reid, music journalist and founder of Curious Media, Sydney, AustraliaPresenter: Tanya Beckett Producers: Maeve Schaffer and Matt Toulson Researcher: Evie Yabsley Production Management Assistant: Liam Morrey Technical Producer: Craig Boardman Editor: Tom Bigwood(Photo: Taylor Swift during The Eras Tour. 2025 is coming to a close, and when you think about it, it's been a wacky year. Katy Perry shot herself into space and somehow landed in Justin Trudeau's arms. After a season of intense growth, big goals, and even bigger emotions, OTTB on Tap is back for Season 3.In this return episode, Niamh and Emily come up for air and reflect honestly on burnout, boundaries, and what it really looks like to fully commit to something and then choose a new way forward.Inspired by a quote from Matthew McConaughey about the clarity that comes from fully committing instead of living in the limbo of a half-assed effort, and a reminder from Taylor Swift that energy is expensive, this episode sets the tone for a more grounded chapter for the podcast and for life with off-track Thoroughbreds. We reflect on the emotional and mental load of 2025, including the aftermath of the Retired Racehorse Project Makeover, and talk openly about equestrian burnout, OTTB identity beyond competition, and what sustainable progress really looks like for horses and humans alike. This conversation centers on non-linear OTTB journeys, rest without guilt, and redefining success in the OTTB retraining world.Spotify Wrapped 2025 and Standout EpisodesWe also dive into our Spotify Wrapped 2025 data, celebrating just how much OTTB on Tap grew this past year and what that growth has meant to us and the community. We each share our most memorable episodes:Niamh's picksS2 E27, Ramon MoyaS2 E16, Recycled Racehorse FalconryS2 E24, Ali Kuhn & Little HailEmily's picksS2 E7 & 8, Tom & Clare MansmannS2 E20 & 21, Aubrey GrahamS2 E31 & 32, Shannon RileyHonorable mentions, because we truly love every episode, include Trotty by Nature, Turning For Home, Pastured Place, and our RRP Chronicles trainers Amanda Chance, Harley Whittaker, Stephanie Parkot, and Chelsey O'Brien.Looking Ahead to 2026, The Year of the HorseWe frame 2026 as the Year of the Horse, a season focused on intentional movement, partnership, and forward motion that feels right rather than constant output. We also share how OTTB on Tap is evolving in Season 3, with more conversational episodes, listener involvement, and space for honest conversations about balance, mental health, and life after big goals. This episode is for anyone navigating life after the RRP, questioning hustle culture in horse sport, or learning how to stay connected to their OTTB and themselves without burning out.Listener Giveaway! Alex Lacamoire is back for round two and I hope you're ready because not only does he put that keyboard to very good use, but Alex was also kind enough to bring isolated stems from the Hamilton cast album. Yep, I know, it's insane. Not only does he play some of his favorite parts (the Stevie Wonder moment in One Last Time and the Eleanor Rigby part of the opening number, for example) but Alex gives us a tour around the orchestra, one instrument at a time: strings from Burn, percussion from Guns and Ships, guitar in Helpless, stride piano in The Room Where It Happens, the list goes on and on and onnnnn. Plus! We talk Billy Joel, Chopin, Steven Sondheim, Taylor Swift's The Life of a Showgirl, the connection between The Beatles and Sisqó, and Alex shares fantastic stories from his experience working on Sweeney Todd. This is such a deep dive and I promise that you'll love every second of it! Seriously, this barely scratches the surface of Lac's generosity. What'd I tell you? The vibes. are. PRISTINE. Service Managers, Fixed Ops Leaders, and Dealership Executives — Why do some people and teams consistently outperform everyone else… while others stay stuck? In this episode of Service Drive Revolution #339, Chris Collins and the team break down what elite leadership actually looks like — and why intentionality, preparation, and standards matter more than talent, location, or luck. Using a surprising leadership case study (yes, even outside the automotive industry), this episode explores why the best performers: - Practice harder than everyone else - Prepare long before results are visible - Set expectations higher — and refuse to lower them - Build systems instead of relying on motivation - Create an experience focused on the customer, not themselves This conversation applies directly to service managers, advisors, directors, and Fixed Ops leaders who want: ✔ Better team buy-in ✔ More consistent performance ✔ Stronger culture and accountability ✔ Higher productivity without burnout If you're tired of average results and excuses like "market conditions" or "staffing issues," this episode will challenge how you think about leadership — and what's actually possible in your service department.

Some of the biggest inventions in history started with someone being told they were wrong, and then not taking “no” for an answer. For Terry O'Reilly, those are the most captivating stories. In his new book, Against the Grain: Defiant Giants Who Change the World, the host of CBC's ‘Under the Influence', explores what we can learn from mavericks, including Taylor Swift — and why in a world where we always need new ideas to grow, our first instinct is to reject them.
In this episode of Song To Be, Fitzy breaks down the origins of two hugely different but equally iconic tracks. From Taylor Swift’s Lover, a deeply personal song that marked a new era in her songwriting, to Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, the disco inspired hit that brought funk back to the charts!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
“The Taylor Swift of Volleyball,” Lexi Rodriguez joins Khat and Madi. Lexi opens up about the self-doubt she experienced early in her time at Nebraska and again at the beginning of her LOVB career. As a pro, she’s found a better balance – including co-authoring a book and launching an app – and has enjoyed the opportunity to learn and adapt to the faster, more physical game.
