This podcast interview focuses on the entrepreneurial journey to empower business users, especially in SMEs, to easily find insights in their data without technical complexities. My guest is Thomas Wulff Wilhelmsen, Co-founder and CEO of Less. Thomas and his co-founder Daniel previously worked as consultants in the data space before founding Less. Their experiences and frustrations in this role inspired them to create an analytics product for people like themselves. And that led to the birth of Less in September 2022. The name "Less" embodies their goal of stripping away complexities to build a product that focuses on the end goal and takes care of the technical aspects behind the scenes. Their mission: Set doers free to do what they do best: Roll up their sleeves and solve problems. And this inspired me, and hence I invited Thomas to my podcast. We explore what's, after decades of development, still broken in the Business Analytics solutions market. Thomas shares his lessons learned from steering Less' journey as a customer-funded startup. He shares how he got early traction with paying customers and how he's creating a culture of analogical thinking to solve problems in creative ways.. Last but not least, he'll inspire you with his fresh perspective on crafting a compelling narrative that sells. Here's one of his quotes "We've been focusing more on the persona than on the sector or industry. We call them doers. People that are curious by nature, that are frustrated with being dependent on other people and want to build cool things that they can show to other people in their teams and drive that change internally." During this interview, you will learn four things: Where he finds inspiration from taking Storytelling for his business to the next level. What he's done differently from the start to get traction and stay in control as the business grows. How he ensures everyone understands what's important, and does the right things right to create fans from the start. Why he embraces being "customer funded" rather than just bootstrapped. Tapping emerging opportunities in the maritime industry – that is what we're going to talk about today. Founded in Norway in 1861, our guest is the corporate investment arm of Wilhelmsen. Wilhelmsen, for context, has one of the world's largest maritime networks on call 24/7 to provide essential products and services to the merchant fleet. With thousands of employees spread across close to 60 countries, the company is said to supply crew and technical management to the largest and most complex vessels ever to sail. But perhaps what is more exciting about this century old global maritime industry group is how it is leveraging the startup ecosystem to sieve out new opportunities and pockets of growth. For one thing, Wilhelmsen came up with a joint venture with German engineering firm thyssenkrupp called Pelagus 3D to use 3D printing technologies to make custom, standard and obsolete spare parts on-demand. The question is – how far will corporate venture initiatives help position the firm for future, and ride the wave of the transforming maritime industry? Meanwhile, Singapore had in 2021 set out its ambitions to make the country the Silicon Valley of maritime technology, raising its 2025 target for the number of maritime startups up from 100 to 150. So what opportunities does the geographical market present for old-timers and legacy firms like Wilhelmsen? On Under the Radar, The Evening Runway's finance presenter Chua Tian Tian posed these questions to Nakul Malhotra, Vice President, Emerging Opportunities Portfolio, Maritime Services, Wilhelmsen.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Men Wilhelmsen vil si nei. In this interview, Barbara O'Brien talks with Kara Wilhelmsen from Creature Comforts Pet Services about her approach to animal training. Kera stresses the importance of kindness and understanding when working with animals, rather than using fear or intimidation. She shares her experiences working with dogs, including her own challenges with a reactive border collie named Tayla. Kera emphasizes using positive reinforcement and empathy in training, focusing on relaxation techniques and behavior modification. She also discusses the need for owners to learn about science-based training methods and the importance of reading dogs' body language. Kara warns against quick fixes and misinformation in training, and encourages empathy and compassion in both human and animal interactions.https://www.empathetic-trainer.com/

Kyla Wilhelmsen was a participant in the City of Prince George's Titans' Den competition back in November 2021. Kyla pitched a business idea, which was the only one that received full support from every single Titan, including John Brink. Kyla's business idea turned into the storefront launch of Homespun Refillery, which celebrated its grand opening in April 2022 on 4th and Dominion in downtown Prince George. Founded in 2020 as a small home-based business, Homespun Refillery is a one-stop local option for sustainable and clean-living essentials for northerners who want a convenient, low waste alternative to big box shopping, so they can live cleaner and healthier, while reducing plastic waste. Kyla started Homespun Refillery out of a desire to help the environment by reducing the use of common plastic packing waste and single use containers. Recycling is an option in Prince George and other communities in central and northern BC, but she wanted to do more, so she started selling eco-friendly products packaged in mason jars online. Kyla purposefully chose her storefront because she wants to be part of bringing people to the downtown as she believes it's important to keep the downtown thriving because it's the core of the city. So she found the perfect location next to other small, locally owned and operated businesses and got to work transitioning her business from home-based to a brick-and-mortar location. Homespun Refillery has received overwhelming support from the community since beginning operations online and following the opening of its doors at its new permanent location. Kyla had no idea she would meet so many like-minded people in Prince George who want to make changes to their consumption habits, reduce their waste and use more eco-friendly products at home. Now that she has a brick-and-mortar location in the downtown, Kyla is able to foster more partnerships and support local makers. She sells a variety of locally made products in her store that complement her offerings. Homespun Refillery recently won a PG Chamber Business Excellence Award for the category of ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP AWARD. Kyla has past experience in banking, spending 11 years with Integris Credit Union, and also specializes in meditation and mindfulness facilitation. Her blir det mange gode historier! God stemning!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Typically, Service Desk agents are heavily demotivated due to receiving an influx of negative feedback, typically due to the SLA metrics that they are contractually bound to. However, when taking Experience Management into use, we have discovered that 82% of feedback the Service Desk receives is Positive. There are many challenges that Experience Management overcome, such as: Only sharing negative feedback Not using Experience data Limited access for stakeholders to see Service Desk results Not connected, restricting information in able to improve problem areas In this episode of Happy in 15, Pasi and Sami discuss why Experience Management is for the whole company, including your Service Desk and how taking this way of working into practice will motivate your Service Desk. We also hear from Marte Thorbjønsen, the Director of IT Core Operations for Wilhelmsen group, on how they moved from inhouse Service Desk to an Outsourced Service Desk, and how they introduced both penalties and rewards into their agreements in order to get the most out of their new Service Partners. ------------------------------------------------- About HappySignals HappySignals is an Employee Experience Management platform for IT that makes experience data visible, understandable, and connected to operational data in IT, enabling enterprises to change their culture to be more open, outcome-focused, and data-driven. Experience Level Agreements (XLAs) are the topic everyone's talking about. But does this mean you should be removing your ‘set in stone' SLAs and replacing them? SLAs have been labelled differently by ITSM thought leaders over recent years, bringing the question of whether or not they are serving a purpose to your IT organisation, or whether they are actually producing more harm than good. Sami, an avid supporter for removing SLAs, discusses with Pasi the importance of using the right metric for measurement - SLAs measure the process, XLAs measure the outcome and value. Furthermore, in this episode, we hear from Marte Thorbjønsen, the Director of IT Core Operations for Wilhelmsen group, and the decisions to remove SLA measurements from their Chat measurement. And if you thought that's all we could get into a 15-minute episode, we also hear from XLA Collab CEO, Alan Nance, discussing HappySignals Global IT Experience Benchmark report data on the impact of including rewards in your agreements with your Service Desk, instead of SLAs and sanctions. ------------------------------------------------- About HappySignals HappySignals is an Employee Experience Management platform for IT that makes experience data visible, understandable, and connected to operational data in IT, enabling enterprises to change their culture to be more open, outcome-focused, and data-driven. Vera Wilhelmsen was once ill with "incurable" chronic illness as a result from narcissistic abuse from her parents and grandparents. She fought her way out on her own, realized the root causes, cut contact with her entire family and all toxic people in her life and went deep into her own trauma to heal. She states on her web site “I was severely ill. Around Christmas 2018 I was preparing to die. I had been bedbound for 3,5 years. No sound - I cried when I heard cutlery. No light. No appetite. Dizzying headaches. Severe,. IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) for 6 years. I was sometimes crawling from the bed to the bathroom. I had trouble getting food and water in me. My hygiene and shower-routine was nonexistent. But I refused to give up”. She is now living her best life and helping to do the same. Her dream is to continue healing herself and help other people heal. She emphasizes “I learnt that you CAN save yourself and you CAN heal yourself. I am not a qualified health professional, but I can share my story and the resources I used, and be a friend” https://www.verawilhelmsen.com/https://youtube.com/c/VeraWilhelmsenhttps://www.instagram.com/verawilhelmsen

I had a great interview with Vera Wilhelmsen about her healing journey from chronic fatigue syndrome. Vera Wilhelmsen is a Norwegian girlwoman (her words) with an incredible story. In her 20's she became bed bound for 3 years with chronic fatigue syndrome and was too sick to even sit in a wheelchair or leave the house. After giving up on the healthcare system she fought her way out of it completely on her own and is today fully recovered, works, exercises and shakes her butt at every opportunity. After her physical recovery she quickly realized that the cause of her illness and suffering was narcissistic abuse. Her healing journey from childhood abuse and medical neglect is still ongoing but she is now sharing her story and her joy on YouTube. In one year she has gone from (her words) a grey, people-pleasing, moldable blob to a color explosion! https://www.verawilhelmsen.com/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0cyHUj7rY2ER96B-O0FijQ https://www.instagram.com/verawilhelmsen/
