Criss Cross is a film noir often discussed and appreciated, and for good reason. Directed by the great Robert Siodmak, and starring Burt Lancaster, Yvonne De Carlo, and Dan Duryea, few other movies epitomize the feeling of film noir as well as this one all the way through to the final frame. Praise the Lord! TGMEM is covering yet another adaptation of the book of Exodus, but this one has absolutely zero musical sing-alongs and definitely has an extrabiblical romance that takes up too much of the run time! But then again, it also has Yul Brynner's huge biceps and a hell of a Charlton Heston fake beard, so hopefully those make this movie's four hour journey worth it. What's the 11th commandment? It's “thou shalt listen to The Greatest Movie Ever Made!”The Ten Commandments (1956) is directed by Cecil B. DeMille and stars Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner, Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, and Yvonne De Carlo.Music: “Fractals” by Kyle Casey and White Bat Audio

These roles would have him appear opposite headliners including Judy Garland, Burt Lancaster, and Sidney Poitier. When recounting how he began his acting career, Patrick explained "I owe my career to my sister. She was the one who got me started and gave me all the encouragement. She always wanted to be an actress and was on the casting call sheet one day. She was asked if there were any other children at home. She told them about me, and I got some small roles, then some bigger ones..." In 1964 while living in Geneseo, Illinois, just east of the Quad Cities, Patrick landed the role of child werewolf Eddie Munster, starring alongside Fred Gwynne as Herman Munster, Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Munster and Al Lewis as Grandpa, on the CBS television series The Munsters, a fantasy situation comedy loosely based on Universal's movie monsters. The role of Eddie was originally portrayed by child actor Happy Derman in the pilot episode before Patrick was ultimately selected out of hundreds of boys for the role. Butch Patrick Live on Game Changers with Vicki Abelson What a fun chat with Butch Patrick, aka Eddie Munster, who's warm, easy and so comfortable in his skin that it's impossible to not feel like an old friend coming home. Butch makes everyone in his path feel seen, heard, and important. What a gift. We talked about current events… living in Arkansas, his Munster Mobiles, getting out and meeting his fans, his girlfriend, how they met, and how they keep it going. And we went back… how a 7 yr old got his start in film, had a career in TV, and at the age of 10, a starring role on one of the most iconic and endearing television shows of all time. Thank goodness Bill Mumy took a pass. There are no accidents. This was Butch's path. We talked Fred Gwynne, Al Lewis, Yvonne De Carlo, The Cowsills, and The Monkees, and his amazing episode and time shooting with them at the height of all of their fame. There were crazy days and trouble. Pot, booze, and drugs, and then, 13 years ago, getting sober. Butch's ease and commitment to his sobriety, and helping others. It's a beautiful thing. The upside of the pandemic is that it led the way to interview celebrity gems who live far away. I hope one day to meet Butch in the reals and feel his great energy sans a screen between us, but I'm grateful as hell for these opportunities to spend time getting to know this once boy who gave this girl so much childhood joy, and as a man, moves through the world with so much kindness and grace. Burt Lancaster stars in this film noir about an armored car driver who decides to be part of a mob heist in order to hide an affair with the head mobster's wife. Co-starring Yvonne De Carlo and Dan Duryea.
Robert Siodmak's gem from 1949 goes under the microscope in this episode. Motivations for this classic plot involve an armoured car heist, an old flame and axes to grind. Good natured sap, Burt Lancaster, is the inside man on the job whilst making time with his ex, turned gangster's moll, Yvonne De Carlo. Unfortunately for him, head-heavy Dan Duryea is as violent as he is jealous. Josh takes you through the beats of Criss Cross as LTP Noir continues its investigation into the world of Film Noir.

Mirrors are objects of fascination and have become powerful symbols through the course of human history. Our two movies this time have mirrors as the heart of the stories and, in both cases, these are mirrors you might want to avoid looking into! We start off with 1980's "The Boogey Man" from director Ulli Lommel. Opening in a flashback, set in a rural area, we see two young siblings involved with a reprehinsible mother. The brother and sister decide, on a fateful evening, that "enough is enough". When we cut to the present day we see that the events of that past event still haunt them as adults, and a malevolent force seems to be inhabiting a mirror that "saw the whole thing" back in the day. It's a little clunky but still an interesting story with some fun moments throughout. We follow that up with 1990's "Mirror Mirror" from director Marina Sargenti. This one has a great cast of show favorites like Karen Black, William Sanderson and Stephen Tobolowsky. Even Lily Munster herself, Yvonne De Carlo pops up in a fun role! The mirror in this one is haunted by a powerful evil entity that possesses a young girl in high school. She goes on a murderous rampage and must be stopped! This is an overwrought but entertaining movie with some great moments, but it's the level of campiness that really kicks it up to the next level. We then proceed to list the various things we've been watching for fun. Please let us know what you thought of the show, and send us some suggestions for future episodes.

Movie Meltdown - Episode 554 For this special bonus Horror Club episode, we return to WonderFest to talk with Sam Irvin. Sam is a director, producer, screenwriter, author and the film historian who recently provided the audio commentary for Frankenstein: The True Story. This 1973 film was directed by Jack Smight and written by Christopher Isherwood and Don Bachardy and contains a very interesting subplot that was slyly snuck past the censors at the time. Featuring a stellar cast including James Mason, Leonard Whiting, David McCallum, Jane Seymour, Michael Sarrazin, Sir John Gielgud, Agnes Moorehead, Sir Ralph Richardson and Tom Baker - listen as we delve into this impressive and often overlooked horror classic. And as we deal with our own monstrous issues of abandonment and rejection, we also cover… Growing Fangs, Boris Karloff, Universal Studios, Dr. Polidori, magnum opus, Ben-Hur, the Grandfather of every horror host, Peter Lorre, the great wisdom of the executives, Elsa Lanchester, Anne Rice, talking about decapitation at school the next day, 25 boxes of papers, Launchpad McQuack, Richard O'Brien, My Fair Lady, crucified on the mast, Mark Maddox, Hammer horror, Yvonne De Carlo, Frank Langella's Dracula, Rick Baker, solar-powered, Young Frankenstein, Hunt Stromberg Jr., Interview with a Vampire, designing your hospital, the most expensive horror film, Gore Vidal, the White Cliffs of Dover, Lon Chaney Jr., The Vampyre, Maila Nurmi and a giant leap of dramatic license. “We are doing a magnum opus of the James Whale movies, but… we don't want to just do a remake. We want to make it different… how can we do this differently?!” For more on WonderFest, go to: https://wonderfest.com/

An executive in Universal studio turned down Yvonne De Carlo's request for the part of the waitress in A Double Life. He explained the way the system worked--Yvonne was rock candy, not dipped chocolates. They wanted to keep her in the stuff that sold and sold. Robert Siodmak felt otherwise and fought to keep her in the role for Criss Cross that producer Mark Hellinger had promised her before his tragic death. Siodmak doesn't ask Yvonne to play rock candy or a paint by numbers noir dame. In this picture, she proves she was a great actress--and wasted in those sand and sandals pictures.
Whether it's good times or bum times it's still fun to sit around and talk about this song that can often steal the show. I'm Still Here is a song that's been covered by dozens of artists, but how does it work in the show Follies? Alex Stuive joins Kyle to explain the references and how the music in addition to the lyrics makes this one of Sondheim's best.
Ep. 67: American Gothic: “The Tale of Where's Paul?” Ket tells Kim about the demented family horror, American Gothic starring Sarah Torgov, Rod Steiger and Yvonne De Carlo. We meet an ACTUAL middle-aged child mom and Kim's actual head explodes because “what are ages?” The girls also need to know the answer to two important questions: where the literal eff is Paul and what happens when you go “deep Barbler?” Most importantly, we'll learn if Kim will live or die in American Gothic. The future Lily Munster became a star when producer Walter Wanger cast her in Salome, Where She Danced (1945). A curvaceous brunette in her early 20s, De Carlo fit the mold of Howard Hughes’ mid-century girlfriends to a T. But that relationship would be brief, and De Carlo would go on to distinguish herself in movies, television, and as a star of the original production of Stephen Sondheim’s Follies. Gavin Matts was the big winner in the 2017 SiriusXM Top Comic competition. In this episode, we teach the youngster about Raymond Burr and Yvonne De Carlo, he explains how he got the nickname 'Subway,' he confesses his love of One Tree Hill and his dream of dying on Riverdale, he explains the therapeutic benefits of jigsaw puzzles, and puzzles over the ephemeral nature of standup. On top of all this, we play two tracks from his new album 'Premature' on 604 Records.
Yvonne De Carlo stars as an aging witch who inflicts vengeance on her stunningly bland family with the help of demonic doggie in this laughably bad stinker. I'm joined by the devastatingly handsome MANUEL CANERI and his special pancakes, so you're welcome.
