To end CES 2023, the Tech Podcasts Network hosts sat down to discuss their experiences. From exciting products that we want to buy for ourselves to trends across the industry, we covered a lot of ground in a very small amount of time.Technology costs are decreasingTechnology costs are decreasing at a rapid rate, and this is especially true when it comes to technology used in the broadcasting industry. Just a few years ago, broadcasters needed to purchase expensive equipment and insure it for up to $75,000. Now, however, much of the equipment needed to broadcast can fit into a single Pelican case, and the cost of the entire studio is much less than a single component used to be.The team discussed how the organization used to need to ship 24 boxes of equipment to the show floor to broadcast, but now they only need to bring two roller bags, one suitcase, and a Pelican case. This is a drastic decrease in the amount of equipment needed to broadcast, and the cost of the equipment is much lower as well. The LED lights used to cost around $1,400 each, but now they are only around $50. This is a huge cost saving for broadcasters, and it has allowed them to do more with less. The Rodecaster is another example of how technology costs are decreasing. This device is used for the mics in the studio for the live broadcast, and it is much more cost-effective than other mixers. This is a great example of how technology has become more affordable and accessible for broadcasters. In conclusion, technology costs are decreasing, and this is especially true for the broadcasting industry. From LED lights to streaming platforms, broadcasters are able to do more with less. These cost savings have allowed broadcasters to do more with their budgets, and it has opened up new opportunities for them to create content. Technology costs are decreasing, and this is a great thing for broadcasters and viewers alike.Price points vary widelyUsually during the show, we are able to settle on a median price point. This is because, for some reason, every year companies across the globe seem to find a range in which to place their products. For some years it has been lower, in the $100 range. In other years it has been higher, in the $250 range. But, most of the time, there is a common price range. This year, however, things were different.Price points vary widely across the consumer market, from low-cost items to high-end luxury products. This was evident this year, when a wide variety of products were showcased, ranging from $50 items to $1,800 outdoor lights. While some products have a set price point, such as the $49, $249, and $199 items, others have no set price and can be sold for what the seller believes it is worth.Teamwork makes the dream workTeamwork makes the dream work is an oft-repeated phrase, but its truth is undeniable. Working together, with a shared goal and purpose, is the best way to achieve success. This was certainly the case at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). It took a team of 15 people to put the show together, from the floor staff to the hosts in the booth. Nancy, Todd, Allante, Daniele, Christopher, Terri, Steve, Kirk, Marlo, Scott, Matt, Alice, and Adam all worked together to make the show a success.Scott, Todd, and Marlo were the main hosts of the show. Allante and Daniele were responsible for floor interviews and Christopher was her backstop. Terri and Steve from AMRoC Fab Lab were also present for the last couple of days. Kirk was doing TD and out on the floor, taking pictures, and more. Marlo had his own mini-team, with Scott and Alice helping out with interviews. The team was able to cover a wide range of technologies, with 85 interviews out of the studio and 150 as a group. Everyone's contributions were essential for the success of the show. Without the collective effort, the show would not have been as successful.Conversation with Scott Ertz of F5 Live: Refreshing Technology, Todd Cochrane of Geek News Central, and Marlo Anderson of The Tech Ranch.Sponsored by: Get $5 to protect your credit card information online with Privacy. The modern world is built on international cooperation and globalization. Cadillac was there first in the early 80's when they came out with the Allante. Proudly built over two continents, this was supposed to keep Cadillac on top of the luxury market for another decade. Instead, it was another nail in the coffin of Cadillac's demise. And we're here to detail every precarious step.
Happy 2023! On this new episode listen to Allante's reflections on life in 2022 and life after grad school. In automotive history, there are a lot of models that started out as great ideas, with features and styleing that was often advanced beyond competitors - sometimes a little to advanced.A few of these models developed a following by collectors due to the low production numbers, however, a few were gathered up by owners that not only appreciated the vehicle for what it is, but for 'driving'. One of these is the Cadillac Allante' that has a national following that started in 1994 as well as many regional clubs. Joining us in this segment of the Car Club spotlight, it is John Maida, proud owner of a 1990 with both tops and 130,000 miles that has mostly been John traveling to the many Alante gatherings across the country. John has a great collection of Allante' historical items that he shares as we learn more about the car and the club that helps heep it alive. We finish out the segent with some of 'This Week In Automotive News Headlines'.Be sure to subscribe on your favorite podcast provider for the next episode of In Wheel Time Car Talk six days a week, and check out our live broadcast every Saturday, 8a-11aCT simulcasting on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch and InWheelTime.com.In Wheel Time Car Talk can be heard on you mobile device from providers such as:Apple Podcasts, Pandora Podcast, Amazon Music Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, iHeart Radio podcast, TuneIn + Alexa, Podcast Addict, Castro, Castbox and more on your mobile device.----- ------ ------Want more In Wheel Time in real time? In the second part of our "Building Equitable Transportation Networks" series, we sat down with Allante Whitmore to talk about the autonomous vehicle landscape and how future developments in this space can take equity considerations into account. We examined the synergies between public transportation innovation and autonomous vehicles. We explored the ways in which autonomous vehicle research and development has been both bolstered and hindered by COVID-19. We concluded the interview by talking about recommendations for how policymakers can ensure that autonomous vehicle developments are properly managed and effectively regulated. Allante Whitmore is a fourth-year PhD student pursuing a joint-PhD in Civil Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Her PhD research focuses on how to equitably deploy autonomous vehicles, how to integrate autonomous vehicles into public transportation systems, and how to develop shared autonomous vehicle networks to improve mobility for transit-dependent populations. Allante also serves as a Mobility21 Diversity Fellow where she explores the intersection between autonomous vehicle development and public policy.
Nowadays, it can sometimes feel like an undergraduate degree is not enough anymore and that you need a graduate degree if you want a decent job. Or you may feel like you need a break and may get burnout from so much school. These are two of many legitimate concerns that you need to explore for mapping out your educational journey for this round of applications. If you’re considering secondary education and don’t know if you want to pursue a Masters or Ph.D., this episode is for you. Allante’ sits down to discuss the differences, the pros and cons, and the approach to picking which degree is most beneficial for you. She touches on “The Illustrated guide to Ph.D.’s” by Dr. Matt Mike, which addresses the circle of human knowledge. When you’re considering secondary education you may ask yourself, “Do I really need a Masters in this field? What do I gain from getting a Ph.D.?” Allante’ answers those questions with more questions to help you dig deeper on your journey. “What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Do you want to be an expert on a topic, or do you want to gain knowledge on a topic and specialize and be a specialist where you know where to get answers and figure things out?” Don’t know the answer just yet? Try out the FREE e-mail course “Get to Grad School” blkingradschool.com/apply.This week-long course will help you figure it out.

Learning to trust, rely, care for and count on yourself will define your outcomes whether the experiences are positive or negative. “That win didn’t even feel like a win because the person I celebrate those wins with wasn’t here.” There are ups and there are downs in this thing called life. Join Allante this week as she talks through switching between intellectual energy and emotional energy, and recentering herself to push through to the end of the school year. Taking the time to go inward and slowing down to be gentle with herself Allante rediscovered her purpose and found a renewed sense of needing to persist. “I did it. It was really hard but I just knew I needed to continue to persist. That was the only option I’ve had. That is my Plan A.” You may want to grab your tissues because this is gonna get you in the feels. CLASS IS IN SESSION! Sign up for the Grad School Success Summit here: gradschoolsummit.com
She may be young but she’s readddaaayy! Join Allante this week as she goes through her 16 most important life lessons on her journey to 30. Allante takes a break from her regularly scheduled lessons and takes a page from her personal book. The best way to learn is from experience but experience itself is only the tip of the iceberg. People will actually surprise you. Value in people, their proximity to you and the evolution of relationships have helped Allante better articulate her feelings and also helped her give others a space to grow. Through understanding the duality of relationships with others and herself Allante talks about how she has changed for the better even when people are caught up in the “old Allante.” It is ok to pump the breaks and reset your boundaries: be gentle with yourself and stay consistent! Allante fully owns that “I am responsible for my full self” attitude. So gather ‘round, CLASS IS IN SESSION!
Get your pens and paper ready as Allante continues the conversation on organization of her time and space. “Don’t try to fight your own tendencies, rather work with them rather than against them.” Hustle don’t stop, grind don’t stop especially when it comes to your personal space. Tackling your space continues with intentionally paying attention to investing in spaces that make you comfortable, productive and optimize your process. Allante’s key to success starts with being honest with herself and identifying her personal tools. Compartmentalizing day to day, month to month and semester to semester of your classes and external projects immediately introduces a calming sense of order. Find the best way for you to get your ideas and thoughts together because there is no one way. Using the resources around you (grants from your grad program, upcycled items or discounted office products) are also great ways to win. Put a pin in this one because CLASS IS IN SESSION!
This episode features a conversation between cannabis delivery drivers Nathan and Allante. Listen to them talk about their experience working in the legal California Cannabis Industry.
]This is a marathon, not a race. We all know what we are getting ourselves into and this is a time commitment. Each step toward your dissertation and defense is a step toward your goal. Continue to count on yourself because you know what the outcome will be! School, social life, significant others and sanity. Whether you want to do it all or you just want to get a better handle on your current personal load you have to start with organization. Join us this week as Allante arrived to the need for organization, ways to implement changes and continued to success. “Figure out your style and be cool with it. Don’t fight it.” Allante’s style and how she gets work done is dynamic. Trying a style and failing with it doesn’t mean you stop-just means you have found a style that doesn’t exactly work for you. Consistency is the name of the game so pick up on your patterns and elaborate on them. Rome wasn’t built in a day and neither were you. CLASS IS IN SESSION!

Marc is an artist whose work is inspired in both form and style by western and eastern influences. He was born in Hong Kong, but has also lived in Sydney and London. He merges traditional Chinese inks with European watercolour and pen techniques in a contemporary style. He is self-taught, and utilizes many different techniques and subject matters to expand his work. Marc also runs the blog www.redinkstone.com – a website dedicated to helping aspiring artists achieve successful and sustainable careers in the art world. Full shownotes: http://yourcreativepush.com/marcallante In this episode, Marc discusses: -How his art career was jump started when his friend posted one of his pieces on Reddit and the thread went viral. -How he utilized that "break" to make another post on Reddit, showcasing pieces of art he did throughout his childhood and life, and how that post went even more viral. -How he worked in financial risk at that time, and art was a hobby for him until that point. -The tough times that he was going through at the moment, with his mother being diagnosed with terminal cancer. -How he calculated whether or not he could quit his job before he jumped into being a full-time artist. -What it has been like in his first year as a full-time artist. -His advice to people with full-time jobs who want to still do their creative passion: dedicate some time every day, and you will see improvement and results. -The importance of developing a style with which you can differentiate yourself from other artists. -There are always valuable lessons to be learned in trying something new. -How art school has many things that it can teach you, but in today's world you can find out how to draw or paint in any style for free on the internet (or do anything creative, really). -About why he started redinkstone.com and how it can help expose artists to information about effectively marketing your work via social media, understanding contracts, and so much more. Marc's Final Push will inspire you to dedicate whatever free time you can find to furthering your realization of your dream. Quotes: "It does require a lot of effort and a lot of work to ensure that you properly utilize that momentum." "What am I going to regret more in life? Am I going to regret a job that I'm kind of okay with or following through with a passion that is clearly working at this point?" "Even struggling for a few years would be a much more satisfying experience than cruising in a job that I didn't particularly enjoy." "Even if you are dedicating a half-hour or an hour every day it is going to improve that process and the skills that you are using." "The more that you practice and the more that you dedicate yourself to that subject or skill, you will see improvement and you will see results." "There's luck and there's also manufactured luck. There's definitely ways that you can help it along." "It's good to be prepared and have the right tools in place so that if and when it does happen, you are ready for it." "Whatever time I could spare was to realize this dream."
