POPULARITY

Are you an insurance agent who has had moderate success selling insurance, but you just know you're not reaching your full capacity? Do you not have a strategic plan, or a step-by-step process to win new business, and you're merely quoting but not winning? That was the experience of Daniel Brookman, before joining 12X Commission Mastermind and implementing the training. Now, he's winning signed BOR's and building his Book of Business. In this throwback episode of the Millionaire Insurance Producer podcast, host Charles Specht interviews Daniel to find out what is working for him now, what is he saying, and why did that large manufacturing account sign his BOR during their first meeting! Learn more about the 12X Commission Mastermind at this link: 12x.club Episode Highlights: Charles explains that in order to be a successful insurance agent, it is crucial to ask for what you want and to be a hunter, rather than a gatherer. (2:02) Daniel shares that he is an experienced insurance agent from Ohio, specializing in life insurance, but also writes commercial property and casualty policies. (5:32) Daniel mentions that joining the 12X Commission Mastermind has been hugely beneficial, particularly the two weekly calls with the group's leaders, which helped him maintain a productive mindset and keep prospecting as his top priority. (8:33) Daniel believes that the discovery interview is the most important part of the sales process. (11:51) Daniel discusses being explicit about what you are going to provide is a good way to contrast what you're capable of doing and willing to do with what the incumbent agent is doing. (16:30) Daniel explains that he used to cold call and quote policies, but after listening to sales and insurance-based podcasts, he realized the importance of having a specialized and differentiated approach to prospecting and messaging to stand out from competitors. (21:15) Daniel believes that transparency and explaining the process can help buyers understand how to get the best deal without hurting themselves in the long run. (25:00) Daniel explains that 12X Commission Mastermind offers a solution to those who are tired of the same old process of getting quotes and following policies, feeling stuck, and not standing out from others. (26:58) Charles discusses the benefits of being a member of the 12x Commision Mastermind program. (27:55) Key Quotes: “I still think the discovery interview is the most important part of the sales process, because you get invited in for a reason. And the number one thing you got to find out in that discovery process is, why are you there? Why did you get invited in?” - Daniel Brookman “The biggest benefit has actually been mindset. Having those two weekly calls with yourself and the other producers on there, and just keeping those ideas fresh, keeping prospecting, top of mind, it keeps me from kind of straying away, and, you know, kind of losing focus on what's most important as a producer, which is prospecting.” - Daniel Brookman “Now my prospecting is specialized. The messaging is not just industry specialized, but also specialized kind of talking and tailored to this process, and how I'm going to be different than just quoting your insurance.” - Daniel Brookman Resources Mentioned: Daniel Brookman LinkedIn Reach out to Charles Specht 12X Commission Mastermind Permission Network Insurance Agency, Inc.

Our Lock and Code host, David Ruiz, has a bit of an apology to make:“Sorry for all the depressing episodes.”When the Lock and Code podcast explored online harassment and abuse this year, our guest provided several guidelines and tips for individuals to lock down their accounts and remove their sensitive information from the internet, but larger problems remained. Content moderation is failing nearly everywhere, and data protection laws are unequal across the world. When we told the true tale of a virtual kidnapping scam in Utah, though the teenaged victim at the center of the scam was eventually found, his family still lost nearly $80,000.And when we asked Mozilla's Privacy Not Included team about what types of information modern cars can collect about their owners, we were entirely blindsided by the policies from Nissan and Kia, which claimed the companies can collect data about their customers' “sexual activity” and “sex life.”(Let's also not forget about that Roomba that took a photo of someone on a toilet and how that photo ended up on Facebook.)In looking at these stories collectively, it can feel like the everyday consumer is hopelessly outmatched against modern companies. What good does it do to utilize personal cybersecurity best practices, when the companies we rely on can still leak our most sensitive information and suffer few consequences? What's the point of using a privacy-forward browser to better obscure my online behavior from advertisers when the machinery that powers the internet finds new ways to surveil our every move? These are entirely relatable, if fatalistic, feelings. But we are here to tell you that nihilism is not the answer.Today, on the Lock and Code podcast, we speak with Justin Brookman, director of technology policy at Consumer Reports, about some of the most recent, major consumer wins in the tech world, what it took to achieve those wins, and what levers consumers can pull on today to have their voices heard.Brookman also speaks candidly about the shifting priorities in today's legislative landscape. “One thing we did make the decision about is to focus less on Congress because, man, I'll meet with those folks so we can work on bills, [and] there'll be a big hearing, but they've just failed to do so much.”Tune in today. You can also find us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts, plus whatever preferred podcast platform you use.For all our cybersecurity coverage, visit Malwarebytes Labs at malwarebytes.com/blog.Show notes and...
My guest on the show today is Joe Lucosky, Managing Partner at Lucosky Brookman. You might take one look at this title and might not think this is for you; as an investor you might wonder why should you care whether a company decides to uplist, cross-list or even delist? What do these terms even mean? Why is the company wasting their time even considering any of these corporate actions? If you've ever asked yourself this question, whether you're an investor or even an issuer, this is without a doubt the episode for you. Even if you've never thought about these topics, I think you'll find our conversation fascinating. In the world of Micro and Nano-caps, this conversation is happening in every boardroom: should we uplist to the NASDAQ from OTC Markets? What's this new U.S. Listings program at CBOE? Should we delist to the OTCQX, QB or the Pinks? Is it too soon for us to Uplist? Should we cross-list onto OTC or NASDAQ? Should we do a simultaneous raise with uplist or cross-list? How will our investors react to this? I've known Joe for years and has given multiple keynotes on this topic at our recent investor conferences, including a Keynote Q&A with Erik Sloane from the CBOE at the Planet MicroCap Showcase: VEGAS on April 30, 2024. You don't want to miss that. This is Joe's topic, his bread and butter, and he truly enjoys helping companies understand what makes the most sense for them. I think we do a good job covering every angle on the topic, but look, I invite you to give it a listen, and would love your feedback on this one. Of Course You Realize THIS Means Podcast - A Looney Tunes Discussion
Hello Folks! Welcome to your best source of news surrounding the beloved Looney Tunes! For this episode, I'm joined by Long Time Looney Tunes' Fan, Comedian and Rotten Tomatoes Correspondent, Mark Ellis to discuss the latest happenings over at Warner Bros/Discovery and break down the storytelling convention of Breaking the 4th Wall in film, Tv and Podcasting?! We start off with the news that broke via TvLine.com! The following projects are NOW in need of being purchased to stream and my bet is on Hulu. Batman: Caped Crusader is an animated reimagining of the Batman mythology by way of Batman: The Animated Series‘ own Bruce Timm, with J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Ed Brubaker also serving as EPs. Reeves of course directed The Batman, the big screen's most recent live-action take on the Dark Knight (now played by Robert Pattinson), while Abrams — in addition to of course numerous Star Trek and Star Wars projects, plus TV's Lost and Alias — is an EP on HBO Max's still-in-development Justice League Dark series. THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL: THE MOVIE Series creator Ben Bocquelet is directing and executive-producing this movie, which features a script written by Shane Mack and is designed to serve as a bridge between the original cult animated fantasy series (which ran six seasons on Cartoon Network, from 2011-2019) and the new one, which is titled The Amazing World of Gumball: The Series (and is also still happening). The yet-to-be titled movie begins when Gumball's biggest fan finds the series' “missing episode” and accidentally opens a portal connecting his world to Gumball's cartoon world. Sam Register, Vanessa Brookman and Sarah Fell will also serve as executive producers on the first original production to be ordered from Register and Brookman's Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. Her resume as a political staffer and founder of feminist organisations speaks to her passion for women's and human rights. Victoria studied English and creative writing and is currently completing a doctorate and working on her second (and third) novel. With Federal privacy regulation leaving much to be desired, it has fallen to individual states to make up the gap and establish their own privacy rules. This approach is problematic for many reasons, which is why Justin Brookman is on the show today. Correction: The name of the individual Joe referenced in the intro is Alex Stamos, from the Stanford Internet Observatory, not John Stamos as was stated in the episode Consumer Privacy Has a Home a Consumer Reports Justin Brookman is with Consumer Reports where he's the head of tech policy. He wrote an excellent paper several months ago on state privacy regulation (you can read it here). Justin is the Director, Consumer Privacy and Technology Policy, for Consumers Union, the policy and advocacy arm of Consumer Reports. In this new privacy role at CR, he will help the organization continue its groundbreaking work to shape the digital marketplace in a way that empowers consumers and puts their data privacy and security needs first. This work includes using CR research to identify critical gaps in consumer privacy, data security, and technology law and policy, as well as building strategies to expand the use and influence of the new Digital Standard being developed by CR and partner organizations to evaluate the privacy and security of products and services. The Politics of Privacy If you keep up with the news of the day, you know that right now, everybody has had it with big tech companies, like Facebook. Consumers, politicians, the media and other businesses have been sounding off about the pitfalls of having big tech intrude into our lives. It's brought about a lot of policy proposals, but no comprehensive legislation that is likely to pass at the Federal level. This gaping hole has been filled in by the privacy legislation that is popping up at the state level. Legislation State By State As is often the case, California is one of the first states to come forward with privacy legislation of its own. The California Consumer Privacy Act has already been amended to make the legislation stronger than the original bill. Virginia also came forward with a bill, and Colorado quickly followed suit. We're also currently seeing legislative battles in New York and Washington State over privacy, and the proposals are really all over the place. The Federal Role of Privacy The Federal government has basically taken a hands off approach to the privacy legislation popping up around the country. Because all of the privacy laws ultimately center around the first amendment, the Federal government is reluctant to play a heavy handed role in the laws that are cropping up throughout the country. There have been some challenges to legislation around the first amendment and some have been rejected, as the judiciary is reluctant to regulate companies. Consumers vs. Businesses vs. Government Consumers don't want Facebook or their ISPs to track their every move and collect data on them. At the same time, the government doesn't want private data collected to be in the hands of these companies and outside of the reach of government agencies. Many states are willing to take a more aggressive approach to privacy in light of the massive data breaches that consumers have experienced in recent years. Where are we now While it's clear that aggressive action needs to be taken to prevent data breaches, it's going to take regulatory agencies some time to catch up because Federal legislation moves so slowly. Much of the existing legislation is unwieldy for the consumer. Whether it relies on a physical opt out by consumers or it goes state by state, it's just not that easy for consumers to actually protect themselves with the current regulations. State legislatures do not have the staff or the expertise to create the kind of legislation that is needed for consumers to truly be protected. We need to find a balance between what can effectively protect consumers, but also allow businesses to function in a way that doesn't put consumers at risk. For Episode 5 I host a panel discussion at the G7 fringe curated by Real Ideas and Crowdfunder; this was a live conversation that took place on 13th June whilst the G7 summit was held at Carbis Bay in Cornwall, which has been edited for this Breakfast & Beyond podcast special. I was lucky enough to welcome four fantastic panellists who work in the field of sustainability – Catherine Chong, climate economist and sustainability advisor at Link ESG and co-founder of Farms to Feed Us, social and environmental change-maker and Director of Permanently Brilliant Manda Brookman, Henry Morgan who is Sustainability Investment Manager at Foresight Group and Matt Hocking, founder of sustainable design agency Leap and a B Corp UK Ambassador. As some of the most powerful people in the world, representing some of the richest countries met at the G7 (in combination, G7 countries equate to almost half of global wealth – despite representing only 10% of the global population) it seemed timely to host a discussion on the role of individual actions alongside those of governments represented by the G7, in creating a more sustainable future. Our panel discussion took the theme: Does my breakfast make a difference? In other words, what impact can actions such as what we eat for breakfast have in creating rapid, positive change for people, and for the planet? The panellists work in a range of sectors – from agroecology to design, community-activism and the third sector right through to global infrastructure investment, and it was brilliant to hear the range of views reflected in the discussion, which included a critique of the concept of ‘net zero' emissions, how we should frame messaging around climate action, whether climate and social justice can be achieved within the current system, the need to move from a notion of living ‘sustainably' to living ‘regeneratively' .. and much, much more. True to this podcast's theme, breakfast was firmly on our agenda, and we were lucky enough to share a delicious, seasonal-inspired and locally sourced breakfast cooked up by chef Eden McClure, a young Australian chef who's currently living and working in Cornwall. Huge thanks to the supporters of Episode 5 – Real Ideas (who hosted the live discussion at their beautiful CSpace Studios in Newquay) and Pentire Drinks.
