Cependant, la suppression du contenu de Windows Prefetch n'endommagera pas Windows et peut même économiser de l'espace sur votre disque dur, du moins au début. Car les applications dont les données ont été supprimées démarreront plus lentement la prochaine fois que vous les ouvrirez, et retrouveront progressivement la même quantité d'espace qu'auparavant.Bon, si l'on reste honnête, l'option nettoyage profond tient sa promesse. QR codes are not inherently dangerous. They're effectively links we can click in the real world using the camera app on our phone. Like hyperlinks on a web page, QR code "links" can take you to good websites or bad websites. They can also disguise their ultimate destination by using URL shortening services like bitly or owly. But now "free" QR code generator websites - that is, sites that will let you create one of these QR codes by entering the HTTP link you want it to take people to - are using these redirects to basically hold your QR code for ransom. The QR codes they give you use the redirect links to insert themselves into the middle - and after some time, they will stop working until you subscribe and pay them money. If you've already printed these codes on hundreds of business cards or dozens of plaques for your restaurant, they they've really got you over a barrel. I'll help you avoid these scams. Bonjour à tous et bienvenue dans le ZDTech, le podcast quotidien de la rédaction de ZDNet. Je m'appelle Louis Adam et aujourd'hui je vais vous expliquer ce que sont les attaques sur la « supply chain » et pourquoi celles-ci sont tant redoutées. Si vous êtes une entreprise, vous avez tout intérêt à prendre la cybersécurité au sérieux. Mais vous aurez beau configurer au mieux tous vos firewalls, appliquer tous les correctifs de sécurité et réinitialiser les mots de passe de vos employés toutes les trois semaines, il y aura toujours une variable sur laquelle vous n'avez aucun contrôle. Cette variable, c'est la sécurité de vos fournisseurs logiciels. Et ça, les attaquants l'ont bien compris. C'est sur ce ressort que reposent les attaques sur la chaîne d'approvisionnement, ou supply chain attacks en anglais. Je vous parle ici de la chaîne d'approvisionnement logicielle.  L'enjeu, c'est de savoir à quel point vous pouvez faire confiance, non pas en votre propre sécurité, mais dans la sécurité des éditeurs de logiciels que votre entreprise utilise. Les exemples de ce genre d'attaques sont légion. Parmi les plus connues, on peut citer l'attaque Solarwinds, ou celle ayant visé Kaseya. Les spécificités des attaques sont différentes à chaque fois. Mais la logique est toujours la même. Plutôt que de s'attaquer directement à sa cible, le cybercriminel va chercher à compromettre un partenaire ou un fournisseur de celle-ci.  L'objectif : exploiter le lien de confiance entre les deux entités pour atteindre sa victime finale. Un bon exemple de ce type d'attaque, c'est l'attaque ayant visé CCleaner. CCleaner est un utilitaire de désinfection des PC très populaire. En 2017, des attaquants sont parvenus à pirater le système de mise à jour de CCleaner. Leur objectif était de diffuser une mise à jour du logiciel contenant du code malveillant. Et cette mise à jour corrompue a été téléchargée par un peu plus d'un million d'utilisateurs. Normal, vu qu'elle apparaissait comme une mise à jour tout à fait authentique.  Mais le malware ne s'activait au final que sur certains appareils sélectionnés avec soin par les pirates. Donc les ordinateurs réellement visés par cette attaque n'appartenaient qu'à des entreprises comme Sony, Vmware, Samsung ou encore Intel. Les véritables cibles de l'attaque sur CCleaner, c'était eux. Et CCleaner n'était qu'un moyen de les atteindre. C'est tout le vice des attaques sur la chaîne d'approvisionnement. Pour vous protéger des attaques informatiques, l'une des recommandations principales c'est d'appliquer les mises à jour de sécurité des éditeurs de logiciel. Mais lorsque le danger provient précisément de ces mises à jour, comment faire ? Et bien pour l'instant, il n'y a pas vraiment de solution.  On peut envisager de renforcer la sécurité des fournisseurs, mais il y aura toujours un chaînon moins sécurisé au sein de la chaîne d'approvisionnement logicielle. Wie in der Wohnung kann man auch am Computer und Smartphone einen Frühlingsputz machen. Dazu braucht es keinen Staubwedel, sondern nur etwas Geduld – und am besten auch Druckluft. Es gibt viele Drittprogramme für Windows-PCs und Mac, die beim Frühlingsputz helfen können – zu viele, um sie hier alle aufzuzählen. Niemand ist zwingend auf solche Helfer angewiesen, mit etwas Geduld lassen sich die meisten Funktionen dieser Programme auch selbst ausführen. Wer es trotzdem ausprobieren will kann CCleaner verwenden, um seinen Computer zu beschleunigen und optimieren. Die Software gibt es auf ihre Grundfunktionen reduziert gratis für Windows-PC und Mac. Die Betriebssysteme der Smartphones sind so eingerichtet, dass sich die Geräte von selbst recht ordentlich halten. Der Frühlingsputz beschränkt sich hier darauf, Apps zu löschen, die man nicht wirklich braucht, und die restlichen Apps mit Updates auf den neusten Stand zu bringen. Alles unnötige muss weg! Dasselbe sollte man auch am PC tun: Die Liste installierten Programme durchgehen und alle deinstallieren, die man nicht wirklich braucht. Bei Windows 10 findet man diese Liste in den Einstellungen unter «Apps» und dann bei «Apps & Features». Klickt man auf einen der Einträge, erscheint die Option zum Deinstallieren. Mac-User können einfach das Icon des entsprechenden Programms in den Papierkorb ziehen. Der Frühlingsputz am Computer gilt auch der Autostart-Liste. Darin eingetragene Programme werden beim Starten des Computers automatisch geladen, was den Startvorgang unter Umständen in die Länge ziehen kann. Alle Einträge, von denen man sicher weiss, dass sie beim Start nicht wirklich wichtig sind, können gelöscht werden. Bei Windows 10 findet man diese Liste in den Einstellungen wieder unter «Apps» und dann bei «Autostart». Mac-User finden sie in den Einstellungen unter «Benutzer & Gruppen». Danach wird auf der linken Seite der richtige Benutzer gewählt und dann auf «Anmeldeobjekte» geklickt. Browser und Desktop nicht vergessen Beim Frühlingsputz sollte auch der Internet-Browser nicht vergessen gehen: Dort kann man alle Erweiterungen deinstallieren, die man nicht wirklich braucht. Ausserdem kann das Cache des Browsers leeren und damit Platz auf der Festplatte machen. Im Chrome Browser findet man die Erweiterungen in den Einstellungen unter «Erweiterungen». Die Möglichkeit, den Cache zu leeren, findet man in den Einstellungen unter «Datenschutz und Sicherheit». Wer auf dem Desktop seines Computers viele, viele Files und Ordner hat, sollte beim Frühlingsputz alle löschen, die nicht mehr gebraucht werden und alle anderen in andere Ordner verschieben. Denn alle Daten auf dem Desktop werden beim Start des Computers gescannt, was den Startvorgang verlangsamen kann. Sind alle unnötigen Programme gelöscht, sollte der verbliebene Rest der Software auf den neusten Stand gebracht und so optimal gegen Schadsoftware geschützt werden. Das gilt vor allem für den Internet-Browser aber auch für das Betriebssystem des Computers selbst. Die Möglichkeit zum Update des Betriebssystems findet man bei Windows 10 in den Einstellungen unter «Update und Sicherheit» und dort bei «Windows Update». Mac-User wählen im Apple-Menü (Apfel-Symbol) die Option «Systemeinstellungen» und klicken dann auf «Softwareupdate», um nach Updates zu suchen. Staub beeinträchtigt die Kühlung Natürlich muss der Frühlingsputz nicht vor der Hardware halt machen. Doch Vorsicht bei der Reinigung des Bildschirms: Um Schäden zu vermeiden sollte das nur mit einem Mikrofasertuch geschehen und einer speziellen Reinigungsflüssigkeit bzw. mit destilliertem Wasser. Um das Keyboard von Krümeln zu befreien kann man es umdrehen und sanft schütteln. Verbliebener Dreck lässt sich mit Druckluft zwischen den Tasten herausblasen. Auch die verschiedenen Anschlüsse am Computer (z.B. für USB-Stecker) können mit Druckluft gereinigt werden. Anders als die meisten Laptops lassen sich viele Desktop-PCs recht einfach aufschrauben. Und sie können durchaus von einer sanften Reinigung im Innern profitieren, denn angesammelter Staub kann die Kühlung und Leistung des PCs beeinträchtigen. Der Staub kann wieder mit Druckluft aus dem Gehäuse geblasen werden. Besonders hartnäckige Stellen kann man auch mit einem Wattestäbchen sanft reinigen.

Podcast 59:Teachers have been under attack. In the past month alone there have been 3 incidents with students getting into physical fights with teachers. I think these are examples of important lesson not being taught at home. I also talk about the teacher strike in Chicago and how even though Chicago has immense tax revenue it mismanages their money and can't pay teachers. Education is lacking in the city of Chicago. Violence is high. I think because the city doesn't put enough into education, teachers don't get the tools they need. They aren't afforded an environment that is conducive to learning, and the kids pay the price. Mayor Lightfoot just started her term but she has a lot of work to do. Thank you for listening. In September, security researchers at Cisco Talos and Morphisec made a worst nightmare-type disclosure: the ubiquitous computer cleanup tool CCleaner had been compromised by hackers for more than a month. The software updates users were downloading from CCleaner owner Avast—a security company itself—had been tainted with a malware backdoor.

The week kicked off with news that CCleaner, a popular security software tool, had itself been compromised, distributing a backdoor to hundreds of thousands of users and highlighting software's serious supply-chain security issue. Just a few days later, it turned out that the CCleaner was designed instead to target nearly two dozen specific tech firms. That's... not good.
