If you're a single woman looking for love with her Mr Right, making a list of qualities you need in a man might seem like a smart and practical thing to do. The trouble is we're not as good at knowing what type of person would make us truly happy as we think we are. And by ‘we', I don't just mean women. Men are bad at it too. Women think they need someone taller and wealthier than they actually do. Men think they need someone younger and slimmer than they actually do. As a result, we inadvertently let a lot of potential life partners pass us by. Let's fix that. Here are the top 5 points I cover in this episode: ❤ Why the top four qualities you think you need are probably off the mark ❤ How to take those qualities and rework them into something less limiting ❤ The only three qualities every woman's ‘dream man' list should include ❤ Three easy steps to finding a man who possess these three qualities ❤ How I went from seeing my husband as a fling to seeing him as Mr Right If you'd prefer to read than listen, you can view this as an article on Medium and Substack. Over the past 20 years, Mindy has trained and coached 1000s in 18 countries and published 14 books that teach how to lead with both head and heart. Mindy explains what a thought leader is and how to become one. She also shares how to use the written word and language to get back in touch with who you are so that you can make progress and help more people. KEY TAKEAWAYS Put your best ideas out there then let people decide for themselves whether you are a thought leader or not. Don´t just publish anything. It has to be good, and you have to write it yourself. Consuming too much of other people´s content clouds your mind and dilutes your ideas. Mindfulness, journalling, and affirmations are powerful, but you have to do them in the right way. Mindy shares how. Spend time reflecting with intention. Every day, pause, ask yourself what went well, and what went wrong, and decide what to work on tomorrow. Writing is powerful. It helps you as well as others. Find good female mentors. You will need several mentors throughout your life. Become a giver. BEST MOMENTS “Dig deep for your expertise and showcase that, and then you'll be known as an expert with proper substance. “ “Part of my work is about helping people get back to themselves.“ “Reflect with intention.“ “Journal these things out but make true statements.” EPISODE RESOURCES https://giving1percent.com/ https://mindygk.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5W2AGg2nMo ABOUT MINDY Mindy Gibbins-Klein is an international speaker, coach, and author of 14 books, with her clients publishing over 1,000 titles. Ever wondered if you might be drinking a bit too much or eating without being hungry? Or escaping from certain feelings and trying to numb them with an external "habit"? In this episode, my guest will share his deep experience and guide you to create your freedom from not only alcohol but any type of addiction you might have. Meet my guest: Duncan Bhaskaran Brown is a Speaker, Author, and Morris Dancer. Duncan has done his fair share of overindulgence. Strictly speaking, he's drunk more than his fair share of wine and eaten more kebabs than he cares to remember. After 20 years of overdoing it, he cleaned up his act and trained with the world's most successful stop smoking service. But that wasn't enough. He studied at Cornell University, the Chartered Management Institute, and in a windowless room in Peterborough. All this led him to write a couple of books, most recently ‘Real Men Quit,' the armchair macho guide to beating booze and finding the life you want. He's interviewed scores of sober superstars and conducted research projects which involved watching TV. Let's face it...Our world today can be a SHIT show and all of this negativity can get a girl down. You know it was the end of last year and Shelby found that she was getting overwhelmed and burned out. I don't know about you...but, when this chic is tired, that permeates my day and bleeds into what and how I communicate. Much to her dismay, she suddenly caught herself spewing negativity in conversations with her team and her daughters. She began complaining about customers, traffic, life! And all of a sudden she was like who am I?! This is NOT me and she had to make a conscientious choice to shift my mindset and when she did, things shifted in her....in her relationships...in the way I felt about her day and her life. The famous Olympic gymnast Mary Lou Retton said "Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive good things and good people will be drawn to you." This is so true. And you know, more often than not, people tend to dwell on the negative, rather than the positive and yet, it takes equal amounts of energy to put out a positive vibe as it does a negative one! Our guest today, Atousa Raissyan, proves this point in her book called "Change Yourself, Change The World: Transform your life from fear-based living to choosing love and seeing magic". Atousa is recognized as a Shaman, Transformational Heart-Centered Healer and Spiritual Guide, Motivational Speaker. She is also a bestselling author, poet and digital artist. Her passion is to help people light up by guiding them to release their traumas and reprogram their fear-based living to a more heart-centered peaceful life. Atousa's extensive experience comes from years of transforming the life of her clients to tap in their truth, heart and experience their desired life, and in turn change the lives of those around them. Because of this transformational experience her clients refer to her as “Guiding Light,” “Life Changing,” “Best Teacher And Mentor,” “Game Changer,”. She has been featured in USA Today, Potomac Lifestyle Magazine, Entrepreneur Herald. She has been a guest speaker at over twenty-five podcasts and summits past two years. If you want to transform your relationships and the people around you, start with transforming yourself by learning to love and accept yourself. The trauma in our lives can be seen as a hindrance and can make us a victim or we can choose to see it as a gift. Healing our traumas and evaluating what we've learned from those experiences is part of the process of growth and transformation Self-love and self-care are different. Self-love starts with looking in the mirror and loving everything about the person staring back at you. Every night choose 5 thing on the outside of your body (your smile, your skin, your collarbones) and 5 things on the inside of your body (your heart, your brain) and tell these things you love them. Some trauma is passed down generationally in the form of the disease that we inherit from our family and ancestors. However, you can be the one to stop the cycle by healing yourself. It's not too late. Are you a 1% giver? How much of your income goes towards charitable giving and how much time do you spend on self-reflection? Having sold her publishing company, speaker, author and multi-award-winning entrepreneur Mindy Gibbins-Klein found herself blessed with more time to reflect on what really mattered to her. In 2020, Mindy recognised that whilst her income had gone up, her charitable giving had not kept up. KEY TAKEAWAY “Many people think they have to have everything all figured out and this stops them because they try to control everything. They have a closed mind. If you don't have a vision, it's hard to establish a goal. This is so simply because without imagination, your end result has no spark...no capacity to magnify the world or people. Your brand is YOU - who you are, how you speak, what you want, and how you'll get where you're going. It's the concept - the why - behind being alive. And it needs to get into the world and shake things up! If you're unclear about your vision, or you have a vision but don't understand how to get to your brand from there, then watch my latest podcast where I'm joined by Brand Strategist & Mindset Coach Lisa Guillot (Find Your Clear Vision podcast). Lisa's concept of a C.L.E.A.R. vision will spark your imagination and help you get to the next step in creating the greatest concept of your lifetime - YOU!

Many people feel they need more guidance than ever...but the people, places and systems they used to be guided by in the past (media, government, work, authority, etc) haven't been working quite as well. Even the weatherman (or is it weatherperson?) seems to be wrong more than ever. WTH do we do NOW? We do what we should have been doing in the first place - relying on our own intrinsic power, our Good Powerful System (GPS). This guidance system is in ALL of us, whether we answer to it or not. Deb Kelly has been teaching kids about their Good Powerful System for years. Deb believes it's important to teach children about thoughts and feelings, since they are the receivers to direct us in how to respond to life using our GPS. In other words, our natural intelligence is always consciously directing us through our thoughts and feelings. Deb believes (and so do I) that it is important to teach our children how to use their GPS to take conscious actions and live good lives. This isn't just for young people though. Many adults never learned about their GPS when they were young and now lack power, which is responsible for much suffering and disconnection from others. This is true simply because disconnection from others stems from disconnection from self. The remedy? Start building your GPS - a good powerful system - within you that grows power and can withstand ANYTHING the world can throw at you with strength and peace.

Many people talk about the simple, small habits that we need to create to improve our lives, but few people have taken these habits to heart the way Michal Stawicki has. Called "Mr. Consistency", Michal practices what he preaches.Michal is the author of many best-selling books and he is a firm believer that the world can be changed for the better through consistent daily habits that bring us all closer to success in life.Discipline requires focus to continue; keeping a vision board, meditating, reading inspirational quotes... these will all help improve your focus. And by making small and simple daily changes, we get the feeling of success and accomplishment every day. Keeping our mind focused on the small things helps us continue them.Michal points out that at the end of life, most people regret what they HAVEN'T done, not what they HAVE done. The gem in this observation is that we don't have to accept the status quo - we can try to do a bit more each day to ensure that we don't have so many regrets. He suggests that we write our eulogy to help us figure out what we want in life. By writing down what we hope people will say about us when we're gone, we gain valuable insight into what our deep purpose is.Michal's website, https://expandbeyondyourself.com, contains his blog and his books, all housed under the theme "Change Yourself, Change Your Life, Change the World."

At this point, if you have followed the podcast, you understand how life principles of fear, self-doubt, worry, envy, and anger hold you back. And because you have been doing my meditations, you are beginning to master them. You are beginning to enter situations that were once fearful for you in the past. You still may have hesitated, gotten angry, and experienced anxiety, but they don't have the same hold on you that they have in the past. You may still be encountering a certain amount of resistance and discomfort, but given that learned some new techniques and practices, you are becoming rather skillful at getting into a relaxed state to handle the discomfort and move past it. You know that when you have anxiety or experience frustration you can ride it through, and you have begun to do this rather than reacting to it. You are able to see how anxiety developed and it probably did not last as long as it had in the past. You have a better understanding of what caused issues and you understand the sequence of the chain reaction to slow things down and not react. You have also developed some amount of skill by using the techniques you have learned thus far to replace old unworkable beliefs and behaviors with new life principles aligned to what you want. You see that your life is beginning to change. You're beginning to tap into your capacity for creativity, spontaneity, and aliveness. You understand the power of a vision in that it pulls you forward and at the same time guides you to begin living in the now as if you have already achieved it so that you become the person you were meant to be. Why the experience of culture shock makes travel such a ripe environment for transformation. How Traveling with Intention Changes your Life Quotes “It is that person that is looking for more meaning, community & connection or just looking to give back.” “Even though I was engaged, which should mean I'm on top of the world, I just felt a complete lack of purpose, definitely a lack of community, a lack of adventure.” “The deeper you dive, the more you are going to get out of it. Jeremy Cowart - Getting Past “I Can't” to Change Yourself and the WorldWe all have amazing ideas. Some are hard earned while others just come to us while we are walking down the hall on one unexpected day. But to make those ideas a reality, we need to get past the “I can't moment” that invariably follows. On today's Inside Influence Podcast episode I talk to Jeremy Cowart, celebrity photographer, artist, and entrepreneur, about how fear lies on the other side of great ideas and how he has learned to get past those fears. Jeremy Cowart has been named the “Most Influential Photographer on the Internet” by Huffington Post, Forbes and Yahoo. He has presented at TEDx and the United Nations. His photos have appeared in well-known publications such as Time Magazine, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Sports Illustrated. He has taken portraits of stars such as Taylor Swift, Sting, Britney Spears, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Heidi Klum, and Gwyneth Paltrow. He is also well-known for his “Purpose Hotel” Kickstarter campaign. The aim of the project is to create a hotel chain where all the goods, services, and decor used generates a financial benefit for the marginalised around the world. A luxury hotel designed to connect people around the world to the stories of others - and enable them to support.Today's Guest Jeremy CowartJeremy grew up in Hendersonville Tennessee. He was a struggling student who seemed to fail at everything from piano to maths. “I can't do it” was his motto. But his supportive parents were insistent that he could do anything: “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me”.Then he discovered a love of drawing and started to believe in himself. After high school, his parents suggested that he study graphic design. But he did not feel smart enough to use computers. But he tried it and ended up becoming a designer and then a digital photographer right as digital photography was taking off.Fast forward over 20 years, and he is an influential photographer to the stars and renowned social entrepreneur. In addition to his photographic work, he helped start the global movement Help Portrait, founded an online learning platform See University, formed an idea development community called LIMINAL Society, invented a new digital photographic technique called Lightograph, and is founder and CIO of Purpose Hotel. He has also written four books and is a sought after presenter.Website: www.jeremycowart.comFacebook: www.facebook.com/jeremycowartTwitter: www.twitter.com/jeremycowartInstagram: www.instagram.com/jeremycowartLinkedIn:www.linkedin.com/in/jeremycowart“I think a lot of people want to help but a lot of times they just don't know how … but when you can align helping with people's natural passions and interests, magic can happen.” “I have pursued over 75 different ideas and probably more than half of them have been total utter failures, or I have abandoned them altogether. You have probably heard the phrases “building my best self” and “stepping into the new me” several times. We know we have said this to ourselves time and time again; however, have you ever thought about what this may actually mean? This episode we talk about how entering into your “new self” is more about aligning with your authenticity rather than creating a completely new identity. Let's dive in and challenge what it means to shed off the "old" and walking into the "new". [2:04] Being a “better version of you". We have all heard this about the need to "reinvent" ourselves. We point out the shortcomings of this phrase and how it is really about being more intuned with your authentic self. These shortcomings include: Making the you TODAY feel like you are not good enough Negative influence on needing to be the best Not realizing that you were doing the best that you could at that moment in time [3:21] Why do we struggle with the old versus new mentality? Some of the reasons why we constantly battle between these two can be: Recognizing and letting go of the shame associated with past decisions and behaviors. We share our own experiences in struggling with this from confidence issues to dating/relationships [5:22] Not listening to your gut in order to fulfill expectations of someone else [8:25] Building new habits and replacing old ways of thinking [10:24] Growth and maturity also build experience to bring us closer to our authentic selves [15:13] [19:55] A different take on the "new" me. Simply put, there is no OLD you or a NEW you, there is just YOU. Identities evolve as mentioned in Mark Manson's article of Stop Trying to Change Yourself. Some mic drop moments include: Maintaining an identity defined as little to not commence emotional turbulence associated with an “identity crisis” [21:45] Think of life as a long sequence of actions and decisions meaning that if we were to change ourselves we instead make better actions and decisions [22:05] We choose the actions we want move forward with...the difference is between the "I AM" and “I CHOOSE” [26:05] Your identity is this made up thing that we emotionally attach to and thus, the quickest way to change yourself is realizing that there is no "self" to change [30:41] Books/Resources Mentioned: Stop Trying to Change Yourself by Mark Manson: https://markmanson.net/stop-trying-to-change-yourself Resources: Find more silliness & love at beyounothem.co Slide into our DMs on Insta @beyounotthempodcast Connect with us on Facebook Baklava, Nat & Nina
Today I talked to Matthieu Ricard about two books. The first is A Plea for the Animals: The Moral, Philosophical, and Evolutionary Imperative to Treat All Beings with Compassion (Shambhala, 2016) It is a powerful and wide-ranging indictment of the treatment of animals by humans--and an eloquent plea for animal rights. Every cow just wants to be happy. Every chicken just wants to be free. Every bear, dog, or mouse experiences sorrow and feels pain as intensely as any of us humans do. In a compelling appeal to reason and human kindness, Matthieu Ricard here takes the arguments from his best-sellers Altruism and Happiness to their logical conclusion: that compassion toward all beings, including our fellow animals, is a moral obligation and the direction toward which any enlightened society must aspire. He chronicles the appalling sufferings of the animals we eat, wear, and use for adornment or “entertainment,” and submits every traditional justification for their exploitation to scientific evidence and moral scrutiny. What arises is an unambiguous and powerful ethical imperative for treating all of the animals with whom we share this planet with respect and compassion. The second, co-authored with Jason Gruhl, is Our Animal Neighbors: Compassion for Every Furry, Slimy, Prickly Creature on Earth (Bala Kids, 2020). It offers a story about the fundamental connection between animals and people and how we can treat all of Earth's creatures with compassion and empathy. Furry polar bears, playful sea otters, slow sloths, prickly porcupines, and slimy snakes are just a few of the many animals we share our world with. And even though we might not look the same or have the same needs as our animal neighbors, we have more in common with them than we might think. Our Animal Neighbors introduces children to the importance of treating all animals with the care and compassion they deserve. We all want to experience love, safety, and respect and this book is the first step to instilling those values at an early age. This planet is our home, and we should all be free to live a prosperous life regardless of whether we have hands, hooves, scales, or fur. Matthieu Ricard is a French writer, photographer, translator and Buddhist monk. Ricard received a PhD in molecular genetics from the Pasteur Institute in 1972 before departing his native France to study Buddhism in the Himalayas, eventually becoming a monk of the Shechen Tennyi Dargyeling Monastery in Nepal. Renowned also as a photographer and translator, he is the author of numerous previous books, including Altruism: The Power of Compassion to Change Yourself and Your World, Happiness: A Guide to Developing Life’s Most Important Skill, and, with his father, the late Jean-François Revel, The Monk and the Philosopher: A Father and Son Discuss the Meaning of Life. He dedicates all the income of his work to two hundred humanitarian projects run in the Himalaya by the organization he founded, Karuna-Shechen. She has been a keynote speaker at national conferences for the CSAE and the Alzheimer society. And while she loves all of that, her most important role and commitment is that of grandmother to 3 amazing young adults!! How did you get to be the expert you're in right now? I am on a mission to share my story. Because if we were to sum it up my message to individuals to professionals to women is it's never too late. And you're never too old. My story is long, because I'm old. I'm going to start with a 10-year period in the 90s. That really was the foundation for who I am now, how I think, what I do, how I create my life, and many of your listeners may be familiar with Lou Tice and the Pacific Institute. I worked with Lou, I mentored with Lou, I was part of the institute's faculty, I was part of the International Speaker's Bureau, and the Pacific Institute is an international educational institute. And the focus of all the programs is around mindset, critical thinking skills. So I had the good fortune over a 10 year period of going on out into the world delivering this information, public sector, private sector, nonprofit. I became who I am now, because as I learned from Lou and all of the research psychologists that we worked with. There's certain ways of thinking to create the life that you do want. My mother-in-law had Alzheimer's disease, my father-in-law had terminal cancer, my best friend was dying of breast cancer, my infant grandson was taken off life support and passed away. All of those life things that typically would happen over a period of time, for me, happened in a very condensed period of time. And had it not been for the incredible mentoring and training from Lou Tice, I don't know that I would have had the mental, emotional, even physical strength to get through some of those big life hits. While that was happening, I was traveling around working for the Pacific Institute, my marriage was dying too. I made a decision that after 25 years in that relationship to walk out the door, because my soul was dying. I know many people can relate to that right now, whether it's been a long term career in corporate, whether it's been a long time relationship, my soul was dying. I knew that there was so much more to life and so much more to me. And so I walked out of that marriage, and I moved across the country with virtually my life in a trash bag and landed there with no business, no contacts, no money. However, I had a dream. And I had the critical thinking skills to reinvent myself. I've given that trash bag away to a lot of people to who made a decision after hearing my story. I landed on the east coast. What I didn't know was how to market. And these were the days where social media was really just becoming a thing. So I knew I needed to learn that piece. So I hired a high-level marketing coach out of New York. And I knew she had passed the million-dollar mark. I hired her and said, look, I'm way older than you, I have less time, I want you to teach me everything I need to know. And I will do it. Because another one of my principles that I teach is she who implements wins. I did take my speaking and coaching business way up to the million dollar mark. I was traveling all around the place, loving what I was doing. However, what happened then that took me to the next phase of transformation is that you cannot be on the road three weeks of every month, different hotels, different countries, different stages, different cultures, different time zones, and maintain a certain level of health. It was in Chicago in January. This particular year, I'd been on the road for three weeks and I was tired. I had been to Argentina, Florida, California, Seattle, Vancouver and was heading back and landed in Chicago. There was only one Saturday connecting flight from Chicago to where I lived in London, Ontario and it got cancelled. Then I went into the washroom in the airport, and I looked in the mirror, and I didn't recognize who was looking back at me. I had big black bags under my eyes. I was inflamed. My skin tone was gray. I put on weight, I was exhausted. And I and I just started crying. I vowed right then and there that I was going to make some changes. When I got back home, I called my personal trainer and I said I need to make some changes. While I am a workout fanatic, I love working out and my personal trainer said, it's not your exercise, it's your nutrition. I argued it wasn't my nutrition. I worked for Weight Watchers for eight years. I know my nutrition. He said, no, you don't. He said, I want you to try this system for 30 days, it will change everything for you. I did follow his nutritional advice. The nutritional system, the exercise changed everything for me. When you've got your health and energy you really can take on the world. Then what happened simultaneously, my very best friend like my soul sister in Ontario was diagnosed with terminal ovarian cancer. I took a bit of a sabbatical from my business because she was divorced like me, entrepreneur like me, lived alone like me, were best friends. So I took her to every chemo visit every Friday. After every surgery, I moved in with her to make sure she was okay and all through hospice care. We had a lot of those deathbed conversations and she said you need to stop talking about making money, and you need to start talking to women about how you've transformed your health. So she passed away. And I made a commitment to myself at that time that I am going to make another change in my life. Because while I was there for her, I recognize where I lived, I had nobody there for me. So I moved back across the country I sold everything again. I came back here to be near my family. I made a decision to downsize my life. I downsized all my mastermind groups, all my coaching clients, I had a full speaking calendar. I loved speaking and it was prime places, prime fee for service, it was perfect for 2020 and 2021. And then COVID hit. My business died overnight. I lost probably close to $200,000 - $250,000 in revenue overnight. Now, what I used to coach in my mastermind groups and with my clients was you've always got to have additional streams of revenue, always. And I walked my talk. So I did have this third stream of revenue an online business in the wellness space. And with COVID and being isolated, online is the way to go. So I rolled up my sleeves and got to work helping women now online get healthy and wealthy. And in working with my speaking coach, we've changed my signature talk. My message now is that for different stages of life, you can have a different purpose. You can pivot, and it is never too late. So that's my story. You have focused now on helping women become healthier and wealthier? How do you do that? Here's two driving forces for me. I do not wake up every day to be mediocre. I have God given gifts and talents and shame on me if I don't use them. And I like I said to you earlier, I've been around enough of my friends who are dying. And they're either still dying, or they're dead. And they have died with their gifts in them, which gave me all the more stimulus if you will, to keep going and get very clear and focused on what I am doing. So I have no intention of being mediocre. And I do have every intention of standing out in the crowd, because what I know for sure, is that it's crowded at the bottom. When you start climbing, you get to the top, the view is clear, the air is fresh, there's elbow room, there's room to grow, and really be who you are. And the majority of people in life are followers. I recognize that and I recognize my leadership skills. I'm quite clear and direct and focused on stepping out and helping anybody who wants it and is ready for it. There are so many women at home right now. I read from the Business Insider that in the United States in September 860,000 women in September left the workforce. They're at home rethinking their life, they're at home rethinking their gifts, they're at home rethinking their time and their energy, and those are the women I'm working with. Whether it is health related or whether they're joining my team and creating residual in leveraged income, which is so important these days, because there's so much uncertainty outside you can bring that certainty inside and create this online business. That's my focus. You can't start climbing a mountain if you're not in good shape. That comes down to my five daily non negotiables. # 1 – hydration #2 – sleep #3 – exercise #4 – nutrition #5 gratitude and meditation Those are my five daily non-negotiables and I intend every day to focus on those because at my 70th birthday party, I intend to take seven of my fittest, happiest, healthiest colleagues and friends with me to Sedona, and we're going to climb Cathedral Mountain. And I've been there three times now and just about made it to the top. But at 70, I'm going to the top, and we're going to meditate, and we're going to drink, we're going to celebrate. I have a simple formula for people. #1 - You've got to have a vision. Now, I typically would teach people to do a vision board, and a vision for their business in their life for six months for a year. Now I'm telling them do it for a month, because the world is so uncertain. You've got to have a vision. Without a vision, you will perish, without a vision, you just go in circles without a vision, you don't want to get out of bed. And life is to be lived. So have a vision. #2 - Take that vision and move it into specific goals. I focus on three goals. Most people just create a huge list. It's overwhelming. It's intimidating, it's exhausting, and they are bored again. Focus on three goals and move those three goals into three action steps. Keep it simple. Live your life, create your life with intention, and then make a decision to create that vision, to put it into action. Goals are great, but they've got to be action-oriented and move that into your calendar and commit to it in ink. You do not give yourself out. #3 – Celebrate your achievements no matter how big or how small. It's important to celebrate. #4 - The other piece is accountability. I have three accountability buddies who hold my feet to the fire. And vice versa. I have an accountability buddy for health. I have an accountability buddy for wealth and I have an accountability buddy for happiness. Pat's Free Gift A complimentary 30-minute 'Pivot on Purpose' strategy call (value: $500). Ever since the election ended and the chaos seems to have subsided, in some parts, our conversations have started to take a whole different aspect. We still talk about the BS of society and how we can change ourselves and let that change ripple out into society, but things seem to be getting deeper into our inner universe. When you learn to trust your instinct, you start to get what you want. Today, I'm going to give you permission to say hell NO to the things that don't have your “hell yes” of approval. Do you always have a contingency plan for when things don’t work out? Are you planning for the worst all the time? Do you identify yourself as a pessimist? Pessimism can be good for anticipating the challenges you have in your company. But it’s not good when it’s the only thing that you do – every time. Today, I'm going to share with you my journey to seeing rays of sunshine on cloudy days, the impact of optimism on my team, and how to find power in your pause. Building a business on your own terms is easier said than done. The online space for a business owner is littered with voices, gurus, experts, and thought leaders who tout themselves as the consummate experts for achieving success. So you try all these ideas and methodologies in your organization. But trying to chase every new fad or every best practice to come on the scene is like riding a neverending roller coaster. What happens when their ideas don't pay off? Or when you realize that after years of taking other people's advice, you've built your business on the wisdom of others – rather than your own instinct or desires? Today, I'm tackling this idea of building your business on your own terms, not what the guru says you should want and how to trust your vision for the future. In this episode, you will hear: The pitfalls of listening to gurus, influencers, and thought leaders at the mercy of our own desires Neglecting to look inward in figuring out what you really want Steps to discovering what you really want The need to take action even in the absence of clarity Redefining success to do the work that fills you up Changing course no matter where you are in your journey Focusing on your ideas that breed confidence Subscribe and Review Have you subscribed to my podcast? Change Yourself To Change The World Best Motivational audio In Urdu If You Want To Change The World, Change Yourself. Change Yourself. Change Everything Else. People have always sought change for themselves, their life, or the world. If you want to change, there is a constant truth; you must change before anything else changes. Many smart folks agree - Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” Leo Tolstoy, “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” What about Albert Einstein? “The world, as we have created, is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” Do you want to change something about today, tomorrow, or the future? You must change before anything else changes. Have you learned lessons from past experiences? You have already changed, and your future is better for it. Rumi said, “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” If tomorrow you want to be better than today and yesterday, something has to change. That something is you. If you want to make more money, serve more. Do you want to be happier? If you want this life to be well-lived, something has to change today. That something is you. What if you want everything about your life to be perfect? Listen to Winston Churchill. “To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” It’s so simple. You Must Change Before Anything Else Changes.
Is it time for leaders to think more deeply and more effectively? Tired of people throwing the term ‘thought leadership’ around and using it to label unexceptional people and mediocre content, Mindy Gibbins-Klein sets out to define and introduce a new paradigm and a new standard of idea generation and sharing. What areas might be stopping you from being your best, most natural leader? Check-out the 10 Hidden Growth Opportunities for Top Leaders: visit www.QuizLeaders.com Key Takeaways: “The solution that we provide here at real thought leaders is thoughtful leadership. It’s thought leadership with more thought that goes into it. We’re purposely bringing a new term into the discussion, aiming to change the conversation, because thought leadership has become too commoditized, misused, abused, and misunderstood.”– Mindy Gibbins-Klein “You really can be yourself, but it being yourself means being true to yourself, being the person that you were, and remembering that you have a lot of aspects that were really great.” – Mindy Gibbins-Klein “Make sure that you’re carving out time to slow down. And to put that all-important thought into the things that you’re working on – the relationships you’re trying to build, and the goals that you’re going for.” – Mindy Gibbins-Klein Ways to Contact with Mindy Gibbins-Klein Sometimes You Need to Change Yourself to Be Yourself | Mindy Gibbins-Klein | TEDxHolyhead: https://youtu.be/B5W2AGg2nMo Website: https://www.mindygk.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mindygibbinsklein/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/mindygk Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/bookmidwife

Matthieu Ricard is helping us redefine happiness in a culture convinced that it’s a passive experience. The French-born Tibetan Buddhist monk reframes happiness not as pleasure but as practice that requires discipline — akin to marathon training or learning chess. He asks, “What are the inner conditions that foster a genuine sense of flourishing, of fulfillment?” Ricard is the author of “Happiness: A Guide to Developing Life’s Most Important Skill” and “Altruism: The Power of Compassion to Change Yourself and the World.” Find the transcript at onbeing.org.

Anik thought he had the golden touch; then the 2008 financial crisis sent shock waves through the global economy. As his business crumbled, so did his health. Anik found himself on the brink of bankruptcy and knocking on death’s door strapped to a hospital bed in Amsterdam. “I lost track of who I was and what I wanted to build. I was chasing money the whole time - chasing it so bad that I fell out of love with what I was doing. I started to hate my life. I started to hate my business,” Anik recalls. Forward Faith-1 (series) June 4, 2017 By faith Moses, when he was come to years (grew up), refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect for the recompense of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red sea as if by dry land: which the Egyptians attempting to do were drowned. —Heb. 11:24-29 This great story of how the Forward Faith of one man advanced an entire race of people, contains a series of steps that we all must take to advance ourselves and others into GOD’s promises. Use this message as a tool to gauge yourself. By faith Moses, when he was come to years… Entering the path of Forward Faith begins with a decision to grow up... There’s a time in life when you come to years... Whether you grow up at 18, 28, or 58, coming to years isn't a numerical destination. It's a moral destination. ...and growing up means deciding to Change. The 1st thing Moses had to learn was that being desperate for change isn’t Faith. Surrender to God is Faith! Because Changing what’s wrong starts with Joining what’s Right. James 4:7-8 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. When you come to years and grow up, you realize that the world isn't going to change itself. So the first steps of Forward Faith begin as a commitment to Change Yourself. Refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter The first step on the path of Forward Faith is a Negative Decision. Moses’ Forward Progress began when he REFUSED to continue in his present condition. This critical 1st step has to be complete. If not, your Forward Faith will become Frustrated Faith, because it's constantly being undermined by double-mindedness, and the claims of your old life. Heb. 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Heb. 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. Heb. 11:15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from where they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. Heb. 11:16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city. Pilgrims of Forward Faith REFUSE compromise, before they ever really see the fruits of their commitment. Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season The most important choices in life, especially when it comes to moving Forward In Faith, are often unappealing. But we know they have to be made in order to move forward. Wise people know how to CHOOSE what is best rather than simply drift toward what’s naturally appealing or EZ. Jesus chose the cross. And so must we. If we avoid the cross, we miss the resurrection also. The greatest blessings come from CHOOSING what we need over what we want. Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect for the recompense of the reward. To move ahead in Forward Faith you must learn GOD’s value system. You calculate the value of the things of GOD, and obedience to Him. And then weigh them against the offers of the world. Phil. 3:7-8 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, Moses changed the Reward he sought because he made the ESTIMATION that the worth of God’s favor made the wealth & power of Egypt worthless! FORESAKing Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king We begin the journey in Forward Faith by growing up and embracing the need to change. But real change cannot come without Forsaking the things that oppose what God is changing you into. Phil. 3:8 ...for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ, FORSAKE unforgiveness so that Forward Faith can bring you into Mercy & Blessing. FORSAKE corruption so that Forward Faith can bring you into Divine Favor. FORSAKE all plans that oppose your Forward Faith
