A #1 hit on the Billboard charts. Recognition by peers and industry leaders. A bevy of new opportunities. Does that equal success? Not exactly, if you ask Grammy nominated, Stellar and Dove Award winning producer, songwriter and musician Dontaniel J. Kimbrough. Having reached great heights as the co-writer of the gospel hit "Your Great Name", this humble and talented creative has dedicated his life to focusing on the right things even as his career and influence grew from small beginnings, major setbacks and God-ordained connections. As CEO of Keyemup Music, a comprehensive music production company and recording studio, he has collaborated with many other successful artists such as Byron Cage, Bri Babineaux, Benita Jones, Travis Greene, Nicole C. Sometimes you come to a place in life where you know something needs to change..For Joseph Puckett, that moment came when his wife was about to have their first child. They had no money, their credit cards were maxed out, and he got the call from his wife at the grocery store… they had bounced a check.Joseph began his career in leadership development at Amsouth Bank at 21 years old. A few short years into his career, a financial crisis happened and it was no longer a good time to be in banking. Joseph made the decision to open an Allstate Agency from scratch. Within a year of starting his agency, he met a guy named Craig Wiggins and realized he could go further with him. He sold his agency and basically forced himself into Craig's business.Joseph and Craig had a small consulting company at the time called Transform Your Agency. He asked Craig if he could work for him in his agency. At first, Craig said ‘no', but Joseph and his wife moved to Huntsville from Birmingham, and he set up an office in the attic of Craig's business. Over time, he slowly inserted himself into Craig's agency. Within 4-5 months, Craig gave him one of his agencies to run and within a year, he was running Craig's entire operation.10 years later, they are now working with over 1600 agencies. Joseph personally works with 70 agencies on a monthly basis. Over the years, they've trained over 20,000 people. Beau now works with the Craig Wiggins Coaching platform as an agency owner mentor and consultant. Today I have Daniel Watson back as a Guest Co-Host. He offers his beautiful reflections from a recent watershed moment that he had with his younger self. Oftentimes, we unconsciously carry the pain of our younger years. These things can manifest in a variety of ways - possibly disguised as resistance, discontent, malaise, unexplainable emotions, and many others. Daniel's gorgeous share was complex in its simplicity, while also simple in its complexities. All the while, his insights are incredibly beautiful and relatable. My hope is that you may also find yourself (or your younger self) in this conversation. I know that I did. Trust builds connection, and over time, connection builds bonds. So, how you show up–every day, over time, matters. It's a practice. It doesn't happen because you just want it to, it happens because you are consistent and trustworthy. My friend Shelley, who is a wonderful therapist, boils it down to this. She says, “You can either nurture a relationship or chip a relationship. There's no in-between.” So, you are either moving toward or away, strengthening or weakening. In this episode, we're going to talk about how we've bonded with our guanacos. How, out of desperation, we had to learn a gentler way of handling them which led to deeper connections. As it turns out the key to being a successful farmer is having a crap management plan. (Yes, this episode is about poop.) Learning about “waste management” taught us about the importance of managing all the crap in our lives. The more pressure we put on ourselves to get better and be better, the more striving we do, the longer our to-do lists become, and all the things we have to manage start to accumulate. And, because there's no downtime, or ritual that we have for dealing with the crap, it just collects. And when it collects, it stinks. In this episode, we talk about how we learned to sustain ourselves and our farms by creating and following a plan to manage all the crap before it becomes too late. (You can't duck the poo.) This film is one in which Dylan’s crew films Jim, the founder of The Masterson Method, a light touch equine massage technique, and Mark Rashid co-teach the yearly clinic they offer yearly which combines their teaching and methodologies. Along with bringing awareness to the film and sharing why they believe it is so important for the equestrian world, we also share how this work helps enhance the awareness of horse owners to build better partnerships with their horses. The film just scratches the surface of the work, but tells a brilliant story of how horses and humans come together and the impact they have on one another.FOLLOW ME ONLINE @:https://nikkiporter.ca/https://www.instagram.com/nikkiportercoaching/https://www.facebook.com/nikkiporterauthor/www.informedequestrian.comLINKS MENTIONED:https://mastersonmethod.com/product/a-mind-like-still-water-dvd/https://www.instagram.com/mastersonmethod/https://www.facebook.com/MastersonMethodhttps://www.instagram.com/dylansilver19/https://www.facebook.com/dylansilverofficialhttps://markrashid.comhttps://www.facebook.com/consideringthehorsehttps://www.thecircleupexperience.comPURCHASE THE CONSCIOUS COMMUNICATOR ONLINE @:https://www.balboapress.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/772389-the-conscious-communicatorhttps://www.amazon.ca/Conscious-Communicator-Connection-Inspired-Horsemanship/dp/1982217375/ref=sr_1_1?crid=SL8DE7C6AJ2B&keywords=nikki+porter&qid=1574711772&sprefix=Nikki+Po%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-1https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/books/the-conscious-communicator-the-pursuit/9781982217372-item.html?ikwid=Nikki+Porter&ikwsec=Home&ikwidx=0Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/user?u=87421)

When we are feeling overwhelmed, burdened, or near burnout why is it that our reflex is always to add? Add a new system to take on more, add some type of organizational tool to help us stay afloat, add help so that we can continue to carry our already full plates. What would happen if we attempted to subtract, rather than add?Well, today that's something we are going to explore.Leidy Klotz is the Copenhaver Associate Professor at the University of Virginia. Today we are discussing his new book Subtract, and believe us when we say after this interview is over, his book is going to be just about the only thing you're going to want to add to your life.
