Mexico City offers very different answers depending on your priorities. Was it damaged in the 2017 earthquake? Has it been structurally inspected? Is there a current dictamen estructural? Were repairs or reinforcements performed after 2017? Pablo Campos Calvo-Sotelo, catedrático de Composición Arquitectónica en la Universidad CEU San Pablo, doctor en Arquitectura y Educación y académico de número de la Real Academia de Doctores de España ahonda en la necesidad de una arquitectura sanitaria mucho más humana, en la que la salud, tanto de los pacientes como de los trabajadores, debe ser una prioridad en los centros de salud o los hospitales, que, asimismo, deben integrarse lo más armónicamente posible en el entorno. Y para ello, gracias a nuestro destacado especialista, conoceremos, además de su labor como socio de honor del Observatorio Arquitectura de la Salud y su carrera profesional, en qué consiste un proyecto formativo tan interesante y revelador como es “Campus Inclusivos y Arquitectura”, en la Universidad CEU San Pablo.

Y con él recordamos, a través del proyecto de formación innovadora Arqui-TE-CURA en la Universidad CEU-San Pablo, cómo influye el entorno en que vivimos sobre nuestra salud, también en los hospitales y en los centros de salud, cuya arquitectura más reciente nada tiene que ver con la de hace no demasiados años, pues se tiende, entre otros ejemplos, a edificios horizontales en los que se prioriza la luz natural. Nuestro prestigioso especialista nos cuenta cómo va a ser la arquitectura sanitaria durante este siglo en el que, pese a los avances tecnológicos, lo humano debe tener necesariamente su espacio.

El Cocodrilo salió de cabina para transmitir desde el Museo del Juguete Antiguo México, en las calles de Dr. Olvera y Dr. Barragán, en la colonia Doctores de la Ciudad de México. A lo largo de sus cuatro pisos, Sergio Almazán recorrió una exhibición de más de 20 mil juguetes que cuentan la historia de varias generaciones: muñecas y carritos de madera, metal y plástico; locomotoras, barcos, futbolitos, trompos, yoyos, baleros, carritos de pedales, patines del diablo, bicicletas, tiros al blanco y alcancías de luchadores de yeso, entre muchos otros. Un viaje sonoro por la memoria lúdica, donde cada juguete activó recuerdos y emociones de una niñez que sigue viva en la imaginación.

Este verano ha sido uno de los peores de la historia reciente en cuanto a incendios forestales con casi 400.000 hectáreas calcinadas. El número de grandes incendios se ha disparado, han afectado de manera crítica a zonas de alto valor ecológico y han obligado a la evacuación de decenas de miles de personas. En muchos casos han sido incendios de sexta generación, de intensidad extrema que, por la gran cantidad de energía que liberan, generan su propio clima e imprevisibilidad, pudiendo crear "tormentas de fuego" que propagan las llamas de forma violenta e incontrolable. Hemos hablado con Javier Madrigal, coordinador de riesgos forestales del CSIC. Elena Garrido nos ha informado de un estudio liderado estudio liderado por el Instituto de Neurociencias (UMH/CSIC) que demuestra que una mutación ligada al autismo reduce la vasopresina, un neuropéptido que regula la sociabilidad y la agresividad social (con testimonios de Félix Leroy). Estamos acostumbrados a ver “piedras” por todas partes, pero sabemos que geológicamente es más correcto hablar de rocas, Con Jesús Martínez Frías hemos conocido la utilidad de las rocas para los geólogos. Bernardo Herradón nos ha hablado de un nuevo grupo de elementos químicos, los halógenos, entre los que se encuentran algunos tan conocidos como el cloro, el flúor o el iodo. Con Jesús Zamora hemos analizado la privatización del conocimiento, la diferencia entre ciencia básica y aplicada y el lucrativo negocio que tienen algunas publicaciones científicas. El arquitecto y catedrático emérito de Proyectos en la Escuela de Arquitectura de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Luis Fernández-Galiano, es entrevistado por el periodista Ramón González Férriz en una nueva sesión de Memorias de la Fundación, cuyos protagonistas son destacadas personalidades provenientes de diferentes ámbitos de la cultura que fueron destinatarios de becas o ayudas de la Fundación Juan March. En 1976 fue merecedor de una beca de la Fundación Juan March para realizar un estudio sobre alternativas de viviendas en España. Es director de la revista AV/Arquitectura Viva desde 1985. Fue presidente del jurado en la 9ª Bienal de Arquitectura de Venecia y jurado del premio Mies van der Rohe.
