A friend's recommendation, and each book having over 20k+ in 5 star reviews...I knew I was missing out on some great books. I was of course hesitant because they are considered dark romances, and I haven't had the best luck in that category. Honestly I was SO pleasantly surprised!! I lovedddd them! I am halfway through the 3rd book and I am still obsessed with these mafia characters and the story lines!

Dom welcomes in Northampton County GOP Chairman Glenn Geissinger onto the Dom Giordano Program to discuss some voting machine trouble that has risen in his County. First, Geissinger takes us back to 2019, when questions first arose after a voting machine malfunction that saw voters voting for the opposite candidate when clicking a touch screen. Geissinger was told that all will be okay and fixed, but then earlier this month, the same problem triggered again, leading to some questions about the voting results in Northampton County. Dom explains the implications of such a trend, telling why he's frustrated with Al Schmidt and others who have the power to make change, as they continue to brush off repeated instances of glitches as non-issues and conspiracy theories. Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom leads off the Dom Giordano Program by taking listeners out to Evanston, Illinois, where a local school district launch an affinity program that would group individuals based on race, and relaunching segregation in the name of virtue signaling. Then, Dom tells about the new trend of binary and Trans children, calling back to a segment on Bill Maher's weekend show in which he asked why, in his LA circles, everybody seems to have a trans kid, whereas throughout the rest of the Country this does not apply. Or will she be forced to live in the home that haunts her forever? Tune into this week's episode of Smut Up and Listen to hear Charlotte and Shelby tell Riley all about this paranormal dark romance! After a bad breakup Shay goes out for a night on the town with her besties. It's the whole see a hot man in a booth alone, looking all sexy kind of vibe, except for she isn't really interested because she's not in the mood. Her besties blackmail her into spending 10 mins with said man, so she gathers herself and walks over, and is sure to tell him she doesnt want to be there and shes not interested in what he has to offer. Cole is the sexy man in the booth, he is dark and stormy and very unapproachable. He sees Shay from across the way and she intrigues him, even before she comes over with an explanation for her situation. He has this way of getting information out of people and he uses this to his advantage. The tension is too much, and they end up getting a room at the hotel and spend an amazing, fun filled night together. Months later, Shay ends up getting a job at Cole's company as his personal assistant. Neither are happy about it, mainly because Cole is rude and arrogant, and she's not having any of it. So starts the back and forth of I want you but i don't, but I do, but we can't. The sexual tension and sex is unreal in this book and we are very much looking forward to continuing with this series. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-smut-hive/support

Emery, owner of local L.A bookstore, Lit Happens, life's falling apart. By falling apart we mean, she's newly single, her family business is on the verge of closure, her landlord is doubling her rent, and a lawsuit has recently been filed against her. She's a mess to put it plainly. A new bookstore has opened across the street (think barnes and noble) and she is going to have to let her employees go, she's having the worst day. Enter Callum McCord, uber hot, ultra rich, and arrogant. He walks into Emery's bookstore and basically tells her, we are going to get married and I will give you 10 million dollars. She's having none of it, he is refusing to take no for an answer, so here starts the back and forth. There is lots of sexual tension, quick dirty talk, and the occasional cuss out. Eventually Emery gives in and they get married, to her it's for the money, for him its so much more. As readers we don't know what that means and neither does Emery, but she's going to find out quick that not everything is as it seems. Lies start being unraveled and their relationship is put to the test is the biggest way possible. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/the-smut-hive/support

We had to come back and review the final book (book 4) of the Queens and Monsters Series. The first 3 were top notch, but did the 4th book live up to our very high JT expectations? YES! We meet Spider a couple books ago, he's the enforcer, the bodyguard, the number 2 to Declan, but we never really got a solid connection with him because we were focused on other characters. This book does an amazing job of building him up and explaining what he is all about. In this book, Declan has asked Spider to marry the a woman of another mob family so that the families can become more powerful. Spider agrees, what he finds is his 18 year old soon to be bride, what we wants is the bride's aunt Reyna. Kage and Natalie, Declan and Sloane, and Malek and Riley. Mafia men and normal woman. All the women are our kind of sassy, the men are our kind of aggressively sexy. These men don't know what hit them when they each meet their woman. They hate that they feel things but are willing to put everything at risk for them. The women, all with some baggage, fall in love with men they shouldn't. The sex is some of the hottest we have read, but the relationship between them all is what makes this book series one of the best. What happens when an Irish mobster unknowingly kidnaps a stick of dynamite in a bubbly, yoga-loving, pink-wearing WOMAN? Sparks, fireworks, explosions! Seriously, I hate that I'm hyping this book so much because I know how it feels to have high expectations and be let down, but this book
In Part 1, Dan talked to Paul about how he got into music, producing and performing as Starkey, and his days in the burgeoning Philly electronic music scene. In Part 2, Paul talks about his work as a music educator, his role as the head of the music production and business departments at Community College of Philadelphia, the school's own Spring Garden Records label, and the expertise and experiences he brings to the classroom.
In this book we meet a sweet southern belle waitress named Tru, who has her life together and it looking for nothing more than what she has. Enter the big bad wolf aka Liam Black. He has sat in her section for a year and has never spoken to her, and she's over it. She finds he is everything she is not. Do opposites actually attract or will the mafia boss eat her alive?
Dan sat down with Paul Geissinger at the studios in Community College of Philadelphia to talk Paul's music, his work as electronic artist and producer Starkey, his days producing shows as part of the Philadelphia electronic music scene with folk like Dev79, his introduction to grime and garage as it was forming in the early 00s in London, and how he helped bring it over to the states. Stay tuned for Part 2 next week, focusing on Paul's work as an educator and all the great work he's doing at CCP, and their in-house label, Spring Garden Records.

Aisha Geissinger's monograph, Gender and the Construction of Exegetical Authority: A Rereading of the Classical Genre of Qur'an Commentary (Brill, 2015), contributes to the growing field of intersections between gender studies and Qur'anic studies. Unlike some recent studies that have explored the role of gender in the Qur'an itself or in applications of the Qur'an, Professor Geissinger takes a step back to explore how exegetes (broadly conceived) have historically understood the relevance and importance of gendered sources, in terms their authority to make sense of the Qur'an. What does it mean, for example, when a particular Qur'an commentary mentions a hadith with women in the isnad, while other commentaries do not? Are these rhetorical moves intentional? Were they significant in their time? In order to address these questions and others, Geissinger looks at traditional works of exegesis, sections on exegesis in hadith compilations, and literature on the virtues of the Qur'an among other topics all the while engaging with a rich breadth of modern and premodern scholarship, ranging from Bukhari to Judith Butler. The footnotes are extensive, the prose is clear, and the book well-organized. The monograph will likely appeal to a number of disciplines, especially Islamic history, Qur'anic studies, and gender studies. Elliott Bazzano is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Le Moyne College. His research and teaching interests include theory and methodology in the study of religion, Islamic studies, Qur'anic studies, mysticism, religion and media, and religion and drugs. Unlike some recent studies that have explored the role of gender in the Qur’an itself or in applications of the Qur’an, Professor Geissinger takes a step back to explore how exegetes (broadly conceived) have historically understood the relevance and importance of gendered sources, in terms their authority to make sense of the Qur’an. What does it mean, for example, when a particular Qur’an commentary mentions a hadith with women in the isnad, while other commentaries do not? Are these rhetorical moves intentional? Were they significant in their time? In order to address these questions and others, Geissinger looks at traditional works of exegesis, sections on exegesis in hadith compilations, and literature on the virtues of the Qur’an among other topics all the while engaging with a rich breadth of modern and premodern scholarship, ranging from Bukhari to Judith Butler. The footnotes are extensive, the prose is clear, and the book well-organized. The monograph will likely appeal to a number of disciplines, especially Islamic history, Qur’anic studies, and gender studies. Elliott Bazzano is Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Le Moyne College. His research and teaching interests include theory and methodology in the study of religion, Islamic studies, Qur’anic studies, mysticism, religion and media, and religion and drugs.
