Katie Faris knew that motherhood wasn't always going to be smooth sailing, but she was more than ready to deal with temper tantrums and dirty diapers. What she wasn't prepared for was receiving the news that three of her children had been diagnosed with a serious medical condition.  Katie's story is deeply touching to me. She's a pastor's wife and a writer who has shared her journey with others through books like God is Still Good: Gospel Hope and Comfort for the Unexpected Sorrows of Motherhood and He Will Be Enough: How God Takes You by the Hand Through Your Hardest Days.  Woven through both books is her own family's story as well as stories of others who found God to be trustworthy in the midst of their perplexities. In this episode, you'll hear how Katie has walked hand in hand with God through all the ups and downs of her journey, her advice for relying on your community, the power of prayer when hope is hard to find, and so much more. Es ist viel passiert und wir sind froh, Heino zum zweiten Mal im Besenwagen mit dabei zu haben. Wer es noch nicht getan hat: unbedingt auch die erste Folge „Cotti Love“ mit Heino anhören!

It's great to be back for another season of Life in the Peloton and for my first episode of the new year I caught up with someone I've been wanting to get on the pod for a long time. It's the German Aussie Heinrich Haussler. Even though I've known him a long time, there were so many things I wanted to talk to Heino about. For a start, is he German or is he Australian? He won the Aussie champs and has ridden for Australia but he moved to Germany in his early teens and much of his development in cycling was thanks to the German system. We also talked about some of his biggest wins, particularly his stage win in the 2009 Tour de France and towards the end of the pod I asked him why, in his mid-30s, he's started racing cyclo-cross. This is the first podcast of 2021 and the plan is very much the same as last year. Life in the Peloton will be released fortnightly here on The Cycling Podcast feed and in between there'll be an episode of Talking Luft over on the original Life in the Peloton feed. If you missed any of last year's episodes and need to catch up, there's a link to the 2020 playlist below. In the meantime, sit back and listen to Heino and I hope you enjoy it. Meet the talk of the podcasting world...Christy Haussler. After spending 25 years managing customer relations for Fortune 500 companies, Christy decided to do the unthinkable.....walk away from the great paying corporate job with incredible benefits, and move to an island! After relocating from South Carolina to Key West, Christy spent the next year honing her podcasting skills with her own podcast about local business. She accidentally stumbled into full-time entrepreneurship, when she couldn't find the company she wanted to hire for her own podcast. She decided to create the solution for herself, and then her company, Team Podcast was born. Within a year, the company hit six figures in revenue and Christy now has 8 team members working with her to produce over 200 podcast episodes each month. She is crazy good. Please welcome to the show Christy Haussler of Team Podcast. Here's what we talked about: 1. Why you shouldn’t jump on the bandwagon and start your own Facebook group 2. How great customer service can revolutionize your business 3. How to self-promote without being self-promotional
If you haven’t already done so, check out this podcast episode with Christy Haussler, as she gives you compassionate advice and actionable tips on how to make your business grow!

After years of working in the technology sector Jerry decided to follow his passion for vintage cars and turned his hobby collection badges and other automotive memorabilia in to a business. If you own an older vehicle chances are Jerry has an authentic club or event badge that will be period correct to your vehicle. Christy Haussler left a 6-figure corporate job to follow her dream: moving to Key West, Florida. In 10 months she replaced her income, earning more than she ever did working for someone else. Outside her comfort zone, she’s where she wants to be, doing her heart’s desire. On her daily 85-mile commutes, she listened to all the audiobooks in her local library, then discovered podcasting. Becoming a “super consumer” of podcasts, she created Brick and Mortar Reporter podcast, spotlighting local businesses suffering from online competition and the economic downturn. Podcasting offered a way out.
