Thanks for dropping by the podcast, hope you enjoy it, hope you're noticing the stuff that leaves behind tracks of happiness and gratitude in your lives. On the hunch that we'll need those tracks some day, or in the next five minutes, to make our way back. This week's three things from me: 1. Well, well, well - what do you call those masses of snow and ice that barnacle to the underside of wheel wells? 2. Whale, whale, whale - one day in 1970, a dynamite expert walks onto a beach in Oregon… 3. World, world, world - some loose thoughts on Jesus Christ Superstar at the Jube. The original music in the podcast is the work of the talented composer and pianist Brendan McGrath. The end bells, as always, are courtesy Edmonton metal artist and humanitarian Slavo Cech. We are back for another great interview, today with Andrew Embry, a brand manager -- plus a wordsmith, poet. and creative alchemist. Andrew combines spoken word & poetry with his data research and marketing roles at https://www.lilly.com/ (Eli Lilly and Company. ) Listen to the entire podcast to hear Andrews poem “bringing love into work” starting at 15:47 Andrew has been writing and performing poetry since he was a child. He has managed to not only use poetry skills offstage but also bringing these skills to work too where he has performed in front of 1000 of his colleagues. He is an avid reader of books, blogs, and watcher of films to keep his creative juice flowing. One of those books is https://www.amazon.com/Radical-Candor-Kim-Scott/dp/B01KTIEFEE (Radical Candor) by Kim Scott. The book focuses on the importance of giving quality, direct feedback to individuals, which has enabled him to give and receive feedback better. Andrew says, if you can help people see how they're using their own style of creativity, then they can see how much that's valued and they can lean into who they are and bring even more value to you and your team. Andrew has been writing his blog Striking Matches since Jube 2013, and he gives us pointers on how he has been able to get creative ideas over the past 9 years to keep writing. The way he has done this is by having a creative mindset-believing that there is a story and hidden beauty inside everything. Looking at the world (experiences) as your oyster. A few ideas on how to bring creativity to work especially in remote settings or working from home can include: getting up and taking walks, working out in the morning, or even taking breaks during the day just to go play with your kids. As part of the brand management team, you can bring creativity in your solutions by being empathetic to your customers' needs, while at the same time using the data you collect to make heart-level decisions when telling stories. Andrews Blog: https://andrewembry.home.blog/ (Striking Matches) Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jT_OaYqOaP0 (Andrews performance at Eli Lily's 140th anniversary) Company Website:https://www.lilly.com/ (Eli Lily & Company) Kim Scott's book: https://www.amazon.com/Radical-Candor-Kim-Scott/dp/B01KTIEFEE (Radical Candor) Summary. The future of marketing will be more innovative in the digital space, as we focus on meeting customers at their point of need. We need to know how to use machine learning to help turn data into insights that we can use to be better. Listen to the entire podcast to hear Andrews poem “bringing love into work”

In this episode, I had a chat with a very good friend of mine, Karan Nijhawan. He is the Founder of Jube.Karan shares how a disappointing experience at a networking event gave birth to the idea of his business. He talks about the importance of the environment to the growth of each individual. We had a productive brainstorm about some marketing ideas on how to achieve his goals for his business. In this episode, we discussed: The founding principle of Jube (Just Be) is that you are the average of the five people you surround yourself with. How a bad experience at a networking event sparked the idea that eventually became Jube. The mistake of underestimating the effect of the environment on a person. Letting people handle things that you don't want to do but are in their zone of genius. The principle of who, not how. As Karan shares the pivot that he is currently applying to his business, shifting from high ticket clients to serving more people at a more affordable price, we discuss the following things to help him achieve that goal: Profit-sharing in exchange for more hands-on mentoring. Create an environment such that the community has the "network effect." Strengthen the community by giving roles to some of the members of the community. Set of procedures where the community runs itself, and everyone is getting a platform to speak. Set the vision and let it run, then check the gaps and find ways to improve. Ingaga kohtume tegelikult juba kaks nädalat varem.

MARJU KARIN ON EESTIS TUNTUD ILUSÜSTIDE KUNINGANNA, KELLE PEAMISEKS TEGEVUSVALDKONNAKS ONGI ILUSÜSTIDE PROTSEDUURIDE LÄBIVIIMINE. Me püüame pugeda liialt palju.” See rikub iseennast ära.” Olen hakanud kahtlema mingites asjades.” Ausad Mehed: www.chriskala.com www.ausadmehed.ee Facebook: www.facebook.com/podcastausadmehed/ www.facebook.com/chriskkala
Karan Nijhawan is the founder of JUBE, which stands for Just Be. He's built his business through investing in his relationships and creating vulnerable conversations, through an unconventional strategy of hosting dinners. Karan has hosted over 150+ dinners for companies like TedX, Forbes and Evio Beauty to help them build relationships with their community and now is on a journey to redefine what company culture truly is. In this episode, we talk about the dichotomy of uprooting and moving to a new city, how the pandemic has taught Karan how little he needs to be happy, and how holding onto comfort prevents growth. We also explore relationships, love, and the power of perspective. Enjoy! Highlights: The dichotomy of moving to a new location and leaving his current life behind. Karan’s relationship with his environment growing up in a small town. Relationships, love, and discovering what makes you happy. How the pandemic has helped Karan realise how little he needs to be happy. Why people will start to move away from the city and embrace suburbia. The power of fear setting. How holding onto comfort prevents growth. How perspective can be the difference in how you experience any situation. In this episode, I’m really excited to have as my guest, Karan Nijhawan of Jube. He runs "dinners" to bring teams and entrepreneurs closer together by diving into meaningful and vulnerable conversations. Karan believes that relationships are the best investment you can make and he has found a way to create psychological safety, an environment of vulnerability and to unlock conversations that lead to transformational moments for his participants. In our discussion, Karan talked to me about: Why traditional networking events are "broken" because they focus so much on transactions How he creates a safe environment and enables participants of his events to share meaningful conversations and deep connection The important but often neglected parts of pre-event preparation and post-event follow up. Kas me peaksime „referendumit” pigem eirama? Kas see, kui me lahendame probleemi, mida pole tegelikult olemas? Abielu on meil ju defineeritud perekonnaseaduses, mitte midagi ei muutu.” Aga haiget teeb see ikka. „Jube kehv tunne on,” kirjeldas Raud. Mida on uus poliitiline reaalsus igapäevaelus kaasa toonud? Kuidas toimib reaalelus kooseluseadus, millel puuduvad rakendusaktid? Kui palju on tuge olnud selles, et kohtud tegelikult jõustavad kohti, kus inimesed kaitseta jäävad? Mis on praegu õiguslikus mõttes kõige suuremad kitsaskohad? Pärimisõigus? Laste kasvatamine ja hooldusõigus? Äkki hoopis lahutused? Kuulake Krister Parise intervjuud Kristiina Rauga siit. * ”LGBT diktatuur läheneb” – väljend parempoolse nädalakirja Do Rzeczy aastataguselt esikaanelt

So Karan Nijhawan, welcome to the show, my friend.Karan Nijhawan 0:46 Thank you, my friend, so great to connect with you and super excited to be here.Christian Klepp 0:50 Okay, fantastic. Let's get this show on the road. So why don't you just tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do?Karan Nijhawan 0:58 Absolutely. So one of my least loved questions is what do you do? And I'll tell you why. It's gonna really put all of this into perspective. So I'm from a small town, small city, East Coast, Canada, St. John's, Newfoundland, where there's not a big population 110,000 people. And I used to go to networking events as a way to level up the people in my circle. And I once heard this quote that really landed with me and the quote said, “you are the average of the five people you surround yourself with.” And it's said by this guy, Jim Rohn. And when I looked at my five people, I was like, Oh, crap, like something is not aligned. The people that I'm hanging out with, are they're in my corner. But yeah, these are the five people that I want to be around? Likely no. So I started going to networking events as a way to hopefully find a new group of five people and if anyone listening to this has ever been to a networking event, you know that it's full of people putting on a facade. It's full of business cards, it's full of fake pleasantries and like mediocre hellos, and you never really build any true relationships. So every event I would go to, on the surface level, I'd walk away with a ton of business cards and what people would call contacts. But on a deep level, I walked away with almost nothing, no friendships, no relationships. It was all about what's in it for them, what's in it for the transaction. So I started hosting my own events. I said every event I go to sucks. So, instead of complaining about it, why don't I just start hosting my own events. So I started hosting my own dinners, where I would handpick people that I wanted to get to know better. Some were business owners, entrepreneurs, others were just people that I wanted to build deeper relationships with.

Näiteks kujutage ette punast planeeti koos siniste tiibinimestega aktiivse trance muusika taustal!

Our friend Kelsey Campbell steps in for Jack today, and since its Handbag Day, Matt decided to do a little digging in her bag. We also get into what you do to stop your family from taking your stuff. Chris's brother decided to change phone just so he doesn't have to share chargers with anyone else. And we also talk to Brett Kissel about his recent trip to Italy, the Eskimo Half Time show coming up this weekend and his show at the Jube on March 4th!
