Alekx and Ethan from Proles of the Round Table podcast join Breht on this All Hallows Eve to deconstruct the myth and logic of the oft-stated claim that Communism is responsible for the deaths of 100 million human beings. On this Halloween, we urge our listeners to reject the anti-communist propaganda of our enemies, while also realizing that the real blood-drenched monsters, ghouls, goblins, and vampires of this world are not to be found within the pages of fairy tales, but rather at the highest echelons of capitalist class society: the very people who want nothing more than for you to fall, hook, line, and sinker, for their anti-communist lies in order to maintain their murderous grip on the ill-gotten seats atop our world's bloody and unjust hierarchies of wealth and power. In this article from Regeneration Magazine, the official outlet for the Marxist Center, Alyson Escalante responds to an article defending the solidarity economy over Marxist revolutionary strategy. In it she clarifies the Marxist conception of revolution, defends Leninism against those who wish to reject it, and shows the inherent weaknesses of utopian schemes dreamed up in armchairs compared to Marxist theory which has been tested in the process of building and defending socialism in the real world. Here is Alyson's piece (which I am reading in this episode): https://regenerationmag.org/the-real-movement-against-the-solidarity-economy/ Here is the piece she is responding to:https://regenerationmag.org/marxism-and-the-solidarity-economy/ You can find and support Regeneration Magazine here: https://regenerationmag.org You can follow Regeneration Magazine on twitter @RegenerationMag ---- Support Rev Left Radio via monthly subscription (and get access to bonus content) at Patreon here: Or make a one time donation to the Rev Left team here: paypal.me/revleft

In this article in Regeneration magazine, the official outlet for the Marxist Center, Tim Horras analyzes and critiques, in a comradely and principled fashion, the reformism and some core premises of the Democratic Socialists of America. He argues for left wing gun clubs to be organized under the direction of civilian leadership in a revolutionary party structure. And he makes it very clear just what the overthrow of capitalism, and the implementation of socialism, will require, and what obstacles we will have to overcome in order to do it. This week we discuss ourselves a little bit before diving into the topic of base building. What is base building? Is it a new strategy? Is it just aping Maoist and Narodnik tactics in a decidedly un-Bolshevik fashion? It isn't, but if it was why would that be bad?In this episode, we talk about why building is becoming popular among the membership of the DSA and whether it is a viable strategy for working class powerhttps://www.patreon.com/theregrettablecenturySupport the show (http://patreon.com/theregrettablecentury)
