I was born as Jemma. I love Jem, and my Peruvian family calls me Jemmita because I spend half of my year in the Andes in Peru. It's an affectionate name that means 'sweet Jemma'. I have been working with the wisdom of the Andean Shamanic Path, the Cosmology of the Inca, and the pre-Inca traditions of Peru for some years now. I have extensive experience working with, facilitating, and practicing rituals and ceremonies in Australia and across the world. I spend many months of the year traveling between Peru, my homeland Australia, Bali, the UK, and Europe.I believe that ceremony is a celebration of life. Our connection to the Earth, each other, and ourselves is often missing in our modern lives. Through cultivating a respectful and grateful connection to the Universal Beings and Pacha Mama, we become more in alignment with our true nature, which is infinite love, joy, and freedom. The give-and-receive concept called 'Ayni' in the Andes guides us and helps us remember that we are powerful beings of light and masterful co-creators. When we free ourselves from anything that holds us back, we realize that we are limitless. Many of us have forgotten this, so gathering in community, ceremony, and celebration, as our ancestors and many First Nations people still do, helps us wake up and remember the truth of who we are. Then, we are unstoppable! Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/unimpressedpodcast. https://plus.acast.com/s/unimpressedpodcast. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
On the Secret Witch Show today our guest is Salena Walker. Salena is a dedicated Welsh herbalist deeply rooted in her ancestral heritage and native herbal practices, has nurtured a thriving herbal clinic since 2015, expertly growing a diverse range of herbs to benefit her patients and students. With over two decades of teaching experience, her true passion lies in empowering individuals through knowledge, enabling them to cultivate and craft their own herbal remedies. In this episode we explore the deep-rooted connection between humans and nature through the lens of herbalism, and how we can harness plants, more magically, to heal ourselves. We delved into the topics of rewilding, the spiritual and energetic archetypal power of plants in self-healing, and the gifts to be found in embracing the traditional, non-linear, Feminine herbal wisdom approach with plants - versus a more masculine, clinical way of working with herbs - exploring a more intuitive way we can begin to heal ourselves (and others) as the wise women of the village. What You'll Learn from this Episode: Herbal medicine is deeply rooted in tradition - it's not actually ‘alternative', it was original medicine - and we can ‘reactivate' our innate and ancestral wisdom for self-healing There has been a masculinised over-scientification of herbal medicine which can deter women from trusting their feminine, intuitive relationship with plants, and leave them feeling under-confident in their gifts Each individual has an innate capacity to connect with plants for healing - and we don't need to outsource our healing to others, but others do make good guides into our deeper wisdom As aspiring wise women, we hone our gifts by learning to work with self-healing - embodying our skills before helping others, like medicine women would have Herbs are potent not just physically, but also emotionally, spiritually and energetically - they are spirit guides, and are living beings with unique individual souls and properties - we can begin to learn from them, as teachers, if we treat them like friends Reconnecting with nature and its cycles offers a way to healing and reconnection with our deeper wisdom for healing on all levels - we can begin that by going into the wild, and beginning to cultivate a relationship with plants Resources and things that we spoke about: Social: Tiktok - @archetypalapothecary Instagram - @iamnicolebarton Instagram - @archetypalapothecary You Tube - https://www.youtube.com/@secretwitchsociety Join our Secret Witch Society: www.facebook.com/groups/secretwitch Website: www.nicolebarton.co.uk Salena Walker: https://www.salenawalker.earth https://www.youtube.com/salenawalker https://instagram.com/salena_walker https://www.facebook.com/salenawalker.earth https://twitter.com/NaturalSalena Thank you for listening, we'd love to know what comes alive for you in this week's episode, so please let us know. Happy New Year & Happy New Dawn of Creation! THIS conversation IS THE transmission we need as we step into 2024! Wow wow wow!! Mary Costello and I recognized one another on social media just this month and I asked Mary to come share her divine code about the Golden Mother Magnetic and how it welcomes the New Golden Dawn. In this episode we weave our own notices, rememberings, and truly, what is in this podcast IS code for the New Earth we have been waiting for, and what we as women, have been living to remember and awaken within us and the Earth. Listen to this as an activation into Sacred Remembrance of code we didn't even know we needed, but we've been waiting for. We recorded this on the last day of 2023. And here, we step through the portal door into a new creation potential. Mary Costello is a golden light, sacred heart healer who is working with golden mother magnetic light to birth the golden age. In this episode: Why your manifestation efforts aren't working - they were built in the false-magnetic. Your connection to the Magnetic Center of the Mother. Why and how karma can end now. How we become the tone of Creation in our lives. The sacred geometry of the Krystal Rose / Krystal Heart. The healing power of the Celestial Waters of Creation. Ending false-mother chaos and distortion in our lives. The Holy Daughter / Solar Feminine - the only archetype we need now. The necessity of total, radical responsibility now. The embodiment of the Holy Grail. Nature Codes & becoming a "portal on the ground." Sacred Need. Wow wow wow!! Have I said that yet? Happy New Year, beloveds! Please enjoy! Ever wondered what it feels like to be a Medicine Person, embodying the energy and power that comes with the role? Join us as we explore this fascinating concept after a personal challenge I presented to Kat on her birthday. We imagine what a Medicine Person party would look like and reflect on the significance of dressing up for occasions. Along this journey, we delve into the healing properties of ketamine, and the physical and mental transformations that come with advancing age.Imagine your body as a stalwart protector, tirelessly working to shield you from trauma, and the magic that lies in learning to listen to its whispers. We share personal stories of panic attacks and terrifying encounters, and how our bodies react in these situations. What if our bodies had different enneagram numbers? We pose this thought-provoking question and discuss what it could signify. A little levity is sprinkled in as we reminisce about a hilarious incident from my twenties involving a unique way of spelling my name and a hip thrust!Reflecting on four years of consistently delivering the 'Cat and Moose' podcast, we can't help but draw parallels with Sisyphus pushing his boulder. Just like him, we've faced our own challenges with unflinching determination. We express our gratitude towards our producer Sarah Wee and discuss how important it is to be aware of our Caesarean ways. Also, we delve into our thoughts on body judgments and the importance of having open conversations about them. Welcome to episode 25 of the Nurtured by Nature podcast. Today I'm delighted to be joined in conversation by the incredible Eleja SunStar of the Sanctuary of Sophia and a beautiful little Aminita mushroom who also had some words of wisdom to share with us all. In this inspiring episode Eleja shares her amazing journey from a workaholic in the busy world of corporate marketing and event planning, who reached a place of burnout before finally taking the leap to leave her hectic life to follow the nudges of her deep knowing that there was more to life. Since then her life has magically unfolded, through sacred pilgrimages to connect with her own ancestral roots and her shamanistic calling to connect her more deeply with her sacred relationship with nature and Mother Earth. We discuss the simple but profound experience available to all of us by finding the courage to claim what's calling your heart and how a beautiful army of beings, equipped with their ancient nurturing wisdom in the form of plants, trees and wild creatures are patiently waiting for the opportunity to be heard so that they can guide and assist us once more. We explore the indigenous wisdom of our lands and the need for reverence in our relationships with nature and a remembering of sacred reciprocity towards Gaia. But mostly we are urged by the Fae to remember the magic that connects us all and in attuning with the earth we are being asked to bring our love and the healing sound of joy and laughter to the world at this time.Learn more about ElejaEleja is a Sophianic Medicine Woman, Divine Feminine Transformation Guide and Plant Medicine Oracle devoted to empowering rising Oracles, Priestesses, Medicine Women and Divine Feminine Leaders of the New Earth. She is the Founder and Cosmic Earth Mother of Sanctuary of Sophia, A New Earth Sisterhood. Seeing things differently can be difficult at times in a world where fitting in is often required, even demanded of us. Michelle felt different in her childhood, perhaps seeing a ghost at 7 years old and having the ghost confirmed by a neighbour, may have contributed to a sense of herself being some one who saw things differently?! Childhood summer holidays at the beach were formative and sustaining to a sensitive being and someone with a passionate love for all things to do with water. Riding the wave of ego, success and accomplishment in corporate life took its toll leading to an auto-immune condition and the realisation in her Soul she was doing work she wasn't aligned with. Pair that with a deep sense of justice and belief in people before process, led Michelle to refine her position in corporate law to embrace creative licence - conscious mediations highly interwoven with her intuition and "seeing" skills, with the freedom she granted her self to work on the premise of leaving things in a situation better than they were before. In the process, giving birth to her namesake - Creating Conscious Leaders, and helping others work, live and create at their highest potential. Listening to Michelle speak in this space of conscious leadership opens up the world of corporate life as it fully has potential to be - conscious, aware of meaningful outcomes, doing amazing & sustainable things in society, turning the wheel in the sense of a truly circular economy - no short cuts or devious wipeouts where no one is a winner. In sharing Michelle's awakening episode today, we are excited for the vision of Women navigating the corporate world openly as the intuitive, Soul led entrepreneurs & Medicine Women - the leaders they innately are. And that is game changing for our world, a better world for all! Danielle McCartney is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Lambert Initiative for Cannabinoid Therapeutics at the University of Sydney. Her main role is to coordinate clinical research into the effects of cannabidiol on simulated car driving performance. Danielle and her colleagues recently published a systematic review of 20 studies that examine the next-day effects of THC. As the study states, “The length of time an individual should wait following cannabis use before performing safety-sensitive tasks, is a critical issue.” Some government agencies and experts recommend individuals avoid performing safety-sensitive tasks for at least 24 hours. It should not surprise you to learn that the data suggests a much shorter impairment window. During our conversation, we discuss: The different types of studies the authors reviewed and the criteria they used to evaluate them The different tests administered to measure impairment How next-day effects of THC compare to acute effects How next-day effects are different in medicinal cannabis patients vs. recreational users What methods are available to determine THC impairment in drivers What is a reasonable impairment window for THC Thank You to This Episode's Sponsor: Medicine Women Health Medicine Women's team of specialists includes Medical Doctors, Naturopaths, Medical Cannabis Experts, Nutritionists and Alternative Health Practitioners. I circle around the concept of the Dao a lot on social media, but I've never pinned down exactly what my relationship to Dao is and how significantly this connection has impacted my life and the lives of my clients. So I'm going to do my best here. I'm going to try to explain the unexplainable. On this episode, we delve into the intricacies of the spiritual practice of aligning with Dao, a subtractive journey that peels back layers of conditioning to reveal our true selves. We take a strong stance against the manipulation of spirituality often seen in modern times, as we navigate towards authenticity and self-awareness.This episode features the voice of BAM Community Member, Camden Torres. Camden's Dao is 'sensual', a word that encapsulates a plethora of emotions and experiences - the wild, the exploration, the creation, the mystery, and the awakening. Together, we explore the power of the Dao as a guide to make everyday decisions that align us closer to our authentic selves. We demonstrate the transformative power of being in touch with our senses, embracing discomfort, and unraveling the mysteries of life.Being a spiritual business mentor is not just about guiding others; it's about embodying the words that resonate with our souls. Today, we explore the transformative potential of embodying the Dao and how this practice radiates out into our lives, relationships, businesses, and communities. As we reach the end of our discussion, I invite you to explore Business Alchemist Mentorship, a 9-month journey towards cultivating a business that is driven by your Dao . In this episode of Oh My Heath ... There's HOPE! Jana talks with Muneeza Ahmed. Muneeza calls herself an Intuitive Medicine Woman®. A medicine woman in ancient times was the person in the village everyone went to when they didn't feel well. She would concoct remedies to help them feel better. I have had a calling to be a medicine woman and healer since I was a little girl. I would walk around with my medicine bag full of imaginary healing tools and herbs and offer them to whoever was in need. As an adult, I still have a medicine bag. My bag has a blend of herbs, minerals, homeopathy, and essential oils. Whenever anyone around me is not feeling well, they ask me if I have a remedy. The simple act of helping someone feel better is one of my greatest joys. I have been doing this since I was a little girl, I have been helping people to wellness my whole life. “In the heart of discipline lays your freedom” This 30-minute episode is on: 1) Growing up sick with pharmaceuticals trying to heal 2) Using food to start healing your body 3) How do you tap into your intuition and listen to your body better 4) It isn't in your head or your genetics, no! It is poison you are taking in on a regular basis 5) Your medicine is just laying around in the supermarket in the produce department This episode is about: In this episode, Jana and Muneeza chat about healing stories of hope. Learning to use foods as medicine to heal and support the body's needs. Tap into your intuition and listen to signs your body might be sending you. Your current health isn't all in your head or your genetics it is in the poisons you are exposed to on a daily basis. Today I sat down with one of my best friends Nina Passero, FDN-P, to have a raw conversation about everything from the importance of eating breakfast for hormones, to the risks of birth control and the importance of self-advocacy, to the ugly truths of some of the toughest moments we experienced while struggling with our health and searching for answers. Nina went through one of the most difficult chronic health journeys I've witnessed: from PCOS to gastritis, extreme hair loss, endless food intolerances, gut infections, fatigue and brain fog – and yet never stopped digging for the root causes and remedies that would actually make a lasting difference. After trying every health fad and extreme in the book, from raw veganism to an “orange fast” to autoimmune elimination diets, today she's the healthiest she's ever been after blocking out the noise and focusing on what she calls the “foundational basics”: food-as-medicine staples that helped to heal her gut, fueling her body frequently enough (and with the right nutrient without restriction), and doing some deep emotional work that helped to build her stress-management + mindset toolbox. Nina has been able to transform her hardships into invaluable wisdom, becoming a talented functional practitioner who helps women around the world achieve food freedom, balance, hormone and gut health. We are back with three more conversations that were recorded live on-site at CannMed 2022 in the CannMed Coffee Talk Lounge. First up is Cultivation Keynote Presenter Seth Crawford from Oregon CBD. Seth discussed: THCV: How it is synthesized in the plant and why it is an important cannabinoid for hemp farmersWhy industrial hemp has not taken off the way some have predicted Oregon CBD's move into the THC market, offering triploid and tetraploid varieties to cannabis growers. Next, Ini Afia, Chief Scientific Officer from Cannasafe talked about how he and other California labs are preparing for the Department of Cannabis Control's efforts to standardize lab testing in the state and crack down on lab shopping. He explains tge problem of lab shopping and how it harms everyone in the industry from consumers to lawmakers. Ini also took part in a panel discussion about cannabis nutrients, so we also briefly talked about how different cannabis cultivars can uptake nutrients differently. Finally, Dedi Meiri of the Technion Institute in Israel shared his vision of the future in which medicinal plants and polypharmacology will gain more acceptance from healthcare providers. He also explains why he believes cannabis opened the door for this new possibility. CannMed 2022 is officially in the books. Thank you to all our attendees, presenters, sponsors, exhibitors, media partners, and team members behind the scenes who make it all possible. It was great to see everyone in person again and learn about the latest advancements in the field. We discussed novel cannabinoids, new treatment protocols, exciting new advances in breeding and cultivation, stronger safety testing methods and of course, the latest advances in our understanding and use of medicinal mushrooms. We also had the chance to record interviews with some of our presenters in the CannMed Coffee Talk Lounge that we had set up at the venue. Today's episode will feature three of those conversations. The first is with Science Keynote presenter Ethan Russo, MD. The second is with presenter and medical practicum instructor Eloise Theisen, NP. And last but certainly not least is Medicine Keynote, Medical Practicum Instructor, and CannMed staple Bonni Goldstein, MD. Each conversation is 10-15 minutes long and we talk about the value of in-person meetings, such as CannMed, as well as details about each of their presentations. Episode # 35 - We will talk about the Inner critic & the negative thought patterns. Is your internal monologue friendly, calm and encouraging – or critical and bullying? The inner critic is developed primarily from our authority figures and during our childhood. In this episode we explore how to recognize if you have negative self talk and how to help yourself change it. How are our thoughts connected to our feelings and also how to begin to reframe thoughts. Note that negative self-talk is not evidence of something “wrong” with us that needs to be fixed; it is a feature of being humanLearning to change that voice and talk to ourselves as we would our own friends.Connect on social mediaInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/annbalkanskiTwitter - https://twitter.com/annbalkanskiVisit our website - https://www.rapidrealization.comAccess a free chapter from ‘Medicine Women' by clicking Free Chapter- https://www.rapidrealization.com/opt-inSupport the show
Episode # 32 - What is the Higher Self? how does it come through? what does it even mean?In this episode we discuss about the Higher Self within and of you. There are many schools of thought in how to explain the higher self and this aspect may come through very differently for one another. I like to bring in the understanding of higher self when we are looking to understand our purpose here and what we are meant to do. For me the higher self is our soul or true essence of who we are, on a more larger and collective scale outside of this physical body. It is the part of us that helps to bring intuition or guidance through in our day to day activities. If you would like to know how to connect more with higher self or simply what it is this episode is for you.We will talk about how I understand higher self and my experience with hypnosis to connect with it. Call Of My Ancestors: True Stories, Wisdom, and Real Conversations about Life
This is an episode that is a must listen to regarding many facets of Black people and the inability to take care our physical health while under the harsh conditions of not having access to resources during and after slavery. Access to Healthcare resources are a continued problem in the United States. Black medicine men and women helped keep Black men and women healthy for decades and present time. They were demonized and were under harsh scrutiny. Often times, black people were put in compromising positions in which they were forced to witness things or keep secrets from their oppressors. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/hair-and-skin-alchemy/message
Everyone and their cat is talking about witches. But what is a Witch? Or a Medicine Woman, or Priestess? How does one become one? And what is the common thread between women who identify as such magical creatures? Welcome to the WitchHunt podcast, where we hold space for healing conversations that collectively explore these questions with the intention of celebrating, illuminating and elevating the rise of feminine energy, magic and self-sourced power in a world that's gone mental. This is a podcast for ALL women — those who don't identify as Witches, Medicine Women or Priestesses but are curious about it all. Women who sort of do identify, but are also wondering what constitutes legitimacy in this sacred circle. And those who've been out-of-the-broom-closet for as long as they can remember. Every New and Full moon, hostess Alexandra Raquel Hughes — who identifies as all 3 of these sacred “types” in her own weird way — invites you to brew some tea, light a candle and join her in her conversations with Witches, Medicine Women, Priestesses and other magical women from around the world. So come! Gather to share in the knowledge, experience, magic and sacred stories of those women who once hunted to be burned at the stake, are now hunted to be held in the light, so they (we) can illuminate the way.
