“Probably 20, hopefully 24 miles, I'm working with people. But then somewhere between the last 10K and the last two miles, it's going to be a race with whoever is around me. You never know how these races play out, but hopefully I'm going to see people in front of me, I'm going to catch them…and place as high as I can. That's how I see this race playing out: I'm in a pack for 18 to 20 or 24 miles and after that I'm hawking down people.”My recurring guest is back – Conner Mantz is back before he takes on one of the longest-standing marks in American distance running: Khalid Khannouchi's 2:05:38 American record in the marathon. It's been 23 years since anyone has touched that time and if there's an American ready to rewrite the standard, it's Mantz. He's already run faster — 2:05:08 this spring in Boston — but because that course isn't record-eligible. Chicago will be his chance to make it official. As we've unpacked on this show all throughout the year, it's been a breakthrough year for him. In January, he took down Ryan Hall's American half marathon record with a 59:17 in Houston. He ran a little faster in another non-record eligible course at the NYC Half in March. In April, he went stride for stride with 2:02 and 2:03 guys in Boston and finished fourth – just shy of the podium. This weekend, he'll line up in Chicago as America's top marathoner and someone who continues to take the next steps to becoming one of the best in the world. He's got quiet confidence and we've grown accustomed to seeing him test his limits in workouts and these races. In this episode, we talk about what it takes to chase a record, how this build compares to others, what's his race plan and how he's sizing up his competitors.____________Host: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez on InstagramGuest: Conner Mantz | @connermantz on Instagram Produced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr on Instagram____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSHOKA: We're takin' over Happy Camper Chicago (Old Town) with HOKA during the Chicago Marathon festivities. Featured Presentations: Patrick Wood: “Building Empire on the Backs of Digital Slaves” – A historical and contemporary dissection of technocracy's drive for global domination via AI and blockchain. David A. Hughes, PhD: “Digital Technologies as Weapons” – An examination of GovTech, agentic states, and cognitive warfare as tools for algorithmic dictatorship. Jacob Nordangård, PhD: “Externalizing the Agentic AI State: A Spiritual Path Towards Digital Enslavement” – Tracing the fusion of New Age philosophies and transhumanism in the creation of a digital “world brain.” Google's “The Selfish Ledger” Interlude: A leaked internal video illustrating Big Tech's vision of data as an evolutionary tool for behavioral engineering. Daniel Broudy, PhD: “Born Again: The Convergence of Man and Machine in the Spirit of AI-god” – An eschatological analysis of transhumanism as idolatry, blending prophecy and psycholinguistics. Followed by a panel discussion on intersections of technocracy, spirituality, and resistance strategies, plus a dynamic Q&A addressing audience queries on solutions, globalist agendas, and nanotechnology. It's Fun Day Monday on the Majority Report. On today's show: ICE, CBP and other federal agencies continue their assault on Chicago as they recklessly unleash CS gas in front of an elementary school in a busy neighborhood resulting in the hospitalization of at least two children. ICE is gassing everyone in Chicago including the local police officers. Dr. Michale Mann, Climatologist, Geophysicist, Director of Center for Science, Sustainability & the Media at University of Pennsylvania, joins the program to discuss his new book - Science Under Siege: How to Fight the Five Most Powerful Forces That Threaten our World co-authored with Dr. Peter Hotez. In the Fun Half: More coverage of ICE atrocities as they arrest people with no warrant or reason, detain the lawyers that are speaking on behalf of terrorized immigrants and mace young girls at point blank in the face. The only thing that seems to get ICE officers to back off is a person in an inflatable frog suit casting spell. Van Jones, Thomas Friedman and Bill Maher share a good laugh at Van's "dead Gaza baby" joke. Greta Thuneberg addresses the media in Greece after being released by the IDF. Here are 3 big things you need to know— One — President Trump is appealing a judge's order that blocked his deployment of troops to Oregon. A federal judge on Saturday granted a temporary restraining order against the administration that would stop National Guard troops from being deployed outside of an ICE facility in Portland. The judge ruled a trial court would likely find that Trump overstepped his authority. Two --- House Speaker Mike Johnson says Democratic lawmakers clearly are to blame for the government shutdown. Appearing on NBC's "Meet the Press," Johnson said the reason the government is closed is because Chuck Schumer and 43 other Democrats have voted multiple times to keep it closed. Top Republicans on Capitol Hill are vowing not to cave in to Democrats' demands. And number three --- Two teenage girls are dead in what the NYPD believes was due to subway surfing in New York City. Local news reports say it happened around 3 a.m. Saturday in Brooklyn. Police say first responders found the two teenagers unconscious at the station and performed CPR but were unable to resuscitate them. Police are still investigating the exact cause of death.
Thousands of Australians are joining vigils across the nation to mark the second anniversary of the deadly Hamas attack on Israel. Around 1200 people were killed and 250 taken hostage during the designated terror group's attack on October 7, 2023, which triggered a brutal military response from Israel.

Donald Trump's dismantling of the Department of Education, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS, Project 2025's education agenda, and Prager University's expansion into classrooms are all part of a long-planned, orchestrated plan to thorouoghly control what kids learn and how they think. This video breaks down how PragerU operates, why it's so dangerous for all students (especially Black and marginalized communities), and how Hip Hop culture — from KRS-One's “You Must Learn” to modern Hip Hop-based pedagogy — offers uniquely powerful, proven lessons and tactics on how to counter these efforts. If you're an educator, this matters for how you teach and protect your students. If you're a parent, you need to know that this will dictate what your children are actually learning in school. If you're a policymaker or activist, this will provide some guidance as to how communities can push back against authoritarian strategies disguised as “education."--

Today's Headlines: President Trump has formally declared the U.S. to be in an “armed conflict” with drug cartels, invoking war powers and ordering military strikes on Caribbean boats the administration labels as “terrorist organizations.” Lawmakers in both parties are skeptical of the legal basis but—shocker—seem unlikely to act. Meanwhile, the government shutdown has left 750,000 workers unpaid or furloughed, and the White House is now threatening permanent firings with help from Project 2025 architect Russell Vought. Shutdown propaganda even seeped into federal employees' auto-replies, which were forcibly edited to blame Democrats. The Energy Department axed $7.6 billion in clean energy grants, conveniently targeting states that voted for Kamala Harris. The administration also sent nine universities—including Vanderbilt, MIT, and Brown—a “compact” demanding they overhaul admissions, freeze tuition, and abolish certain departments in exchange for federal funds. Elsewhere, the FDA approved a generic version of the abortion pill mifepristone, sparking predictable outrage despite it being a routine process. Yom Kippur was marred by a deadly terror attack at a synagogue in Manchester, where two worshippers were killed and the attacker was shot dead. And finally, Commerce Secretary Howard “Laughin'” Lutnick, a former neighbor of Jeffrey Epstein, suggested Epstein blackmailed powerful men with videos, casually detonating months of damage control efforts with a single podcast appearance. President Trump is demanding that Israel end the war in Gaza. It comes after Hamas announced it had agreed to Trump’s proposal to release all Israeli hostages held in Gaza. But the militant group, which launched the deadly Oct. 7 attacks just short of two years ago, did not agree to all of the president’s framework. Nick Schifrin reports.
