Dr. Susan Pierce Thompson delivers a powerful exploration into the complex reality of ultra-processed food addiction and the revolutionary approaches that enable sustainable recovery and weight loss. With her unique background as both a recovered drug addict and a brain scientist, Thompson brings extraordinary credibility to this conversation about why some foods trigger addictive patterns more powerfully than even cocaine or methamphetamine. The podcast reveals exciting developments in how the scientific community is finally recognizing the legitimacy of ultra-processed food addiction. Thompson describes the recent consensus reached by 40 international experts working to have this condition recognized by the World Health Organization—a critical step toward better treatment protocols and policy changes. This recognition isn't just academic—it could transform how schools, healthcare systems, and governments approach our relationship with food.Thompson's Bright Line Eating program demonstrates what's possible when we apply addiction medicine principles to our relationship with food. Their groundbreaking six-year follow-up research shows participants maintaining an average 14% weight loss—outperforming even the most celebrated weight loss medications without their side effects or costs. The "bright lines" approach creates clear boundaries around sugar, flour, meals, and quantities, helping participants develop automatic habits that remove the exhausting decision fatigue around eating.Perhaps most compelling is Thompson's raw comparison between drug addiction and food addiction recovery. After 30 years of sobriety from substances, she shares why food addiction presented an even greater challenge: "There's nowhere safe to go in society when you're in recovery from food... your whole life is a cue to break your abstinence." Unlike recovering drug addicts who can avoid trigger environments, food addicts face constant exposure, making their recovery journey uniquely difficult but ultimately more rewarding.Whether you're struggling with your relationship with food or simply curious about the science behind sustainable weight loss, this conversation offers profound insights that might forever change how you view ultra-processed foods and the possibility of true freedom from food obsession.Enjoyed this episode? Tackling sugar addiction is more than a battle of willpower; it's a journey of understanding the neuroscience behind our cravings and learning how to heal our brain for lasting change. Dr. Susan Pierce-Thompson's podcast episode is a deep dive into this process. She shares her personal story of overcoming drug addiction and obesity, highlighting her transition from a life ensnared by addictive behaviors to one where she could exercise control over her eating habits through the Bright Line Eating program. The episode addresses the human brain's intricate landscape, which is highly responsive to rewards and susceptible to addiction. Our brains are wired to remember and seek out the cues that predict these rewards, a mechanism that can lead to an increased susceptibility to addiction in environments where food cues are omnipresent. This conversation between the host and Dr. Thompson offers an in-depth exploration of how we can transition from a dopamine-driven existence to one where serenity is achieved through balanced brain chemistry, a state influenced by a mix of neurotransmitters including serotonin, oxytocin, and endorphins.Embarking on a journey toward better health often means rewriting one's identity, and the Bright Line Eating program is designed to facilitate this transformation. The conversation emphasizes the difference between a temporary diet and a lifestyle change, where new eating habits become an integral part of one's identity. The four Bright Lines—no sugar, no flour, eating only at meals, and measuring quantities—provide clarity and a structured path for those seeking sustainable weight loss, challenging the promises of quick fixes offered by diet medications.Dr. Thompson also shares her insights on the concept of 'crystal vase recovery,' likening the fragility and strength of recovery to a rare and valuable object that must be cared for diligently. This analogy reinforces the ongoing vigilance required to maintain recovery from addiction. The episode further delves into the healing potential of internal family systems and parts work in psychology, illustrating how engaging with different aspects of our psyche can lead to healthier coping strategies and a more harmonious internal family system. As the episode concludes, there's an expression of gratitude for individuals like Dr. Thompson who have dedicated their lives to improving health and nutrition, inspiring listeners to strive for a balanced existence. The heartfelt appreciation for the work done in distinguishing between effective and ineffective dietary practices is palpable, as is the collective effort to address food-related issues and guide others toward happiness and balance. This episode not only shares the remarkable journey of Dr. Thompson but also serves as an educational resource on the science of addiction and recovery. It's a beacon of hope for those seeking freedom from the clutches of sugar addiction and offers practical, scientifically-backed advice for achieving a healthy relationship with food. For anyone struggling with food addiction or simply seeking to improve their relationship with eating, this podcast episode with Dr. Susan Pierce-Thompson is a must-listen. In the space of weight loss and dietary trends, the allure of quick fixes and rigid structures often overshadows the subconscious reason of individual relationships with food that need to be fixed. In this episode we embark on a journey through the intricacies of Bright Line Eating, a program looked up to by some as a light of hope for weight loss and food and body issues, yet presenting questionable ideology that needs careful consideration. Here, we examine the manifestations of a diet mentality, shedding light on the underlying issues that drive individuals towards restrictive eating patterns. Through the narratives and candid revelations, we uncover the profound impact of diet culture on self-perception and emotional well-being. As we dig deeper, we confront the stark contrast between addiction to substances like alcohol or drugs versus food addiction. As we dissect the mechanisms of Bright Line Eating, questions arise about its efficacy and sustainability in bringing about genuine healing and nourishment. At the core of all that's happening, we came to a revelation: the necessity of breaking free from the confines of Bright Line Eating. Through Leslie's personal anecdotes and own experiences as well as those of others she knows who experienced it, we are made to see the need to unshackle ourselves from fear-based approaches to food issues and embrace the liberating journey towards intuitive eating. Moreover, we confront the inherent limitations of Bright Line Eating, unearthing its fear-based beliefs. Thus, leading us to think about the transformative process of Hypnosis, which has at its foundation self-love and self-compassion. Making one's journey sustainably attainable. "When you have the bandaid off and you start to be an intuitive eater, you have to hear and see all of that shit. It has to be seen. But what you find when you see it is how much better it feels once you see it." - Leslie Thornton What you will learn from this episode: 00:57 - Manifestation of someone who has a diet mentality issues 08:06 - Digging into Bright Line Eating [Difference between alcohol or drug addiction versus food addiction] 15:04 - Why Leslie needed to come out of the Bright Line Eating program 21:45 - What the food was like under the Bright Line Eating program and how this made her feel and believed about herself 23:14 - Bright Line Healing --- a breakaway from Bright Line Eating 30:00 - Fear-based approach that is gleaned from Bright Line Eating 32:07 - Finding freedom in intuitive eating in your personal and professional life 37:20 - What Bright Line Eating never teaches you about [seeing the result of fear-based versus love-based approach ] 45:08 - Self-compassion and self-love as the way to have the best life [an invitation to the Hypnosis program including what it is about and how it can help you] 50:59 - Love yourself to freedom Valuable Resources: Register for our LIVE FREE Monthly “Themed” Healthy Hypnosis Hour! Dr. Susan Pierce Thompson is in the house!!Susan is my dear friend, and she brings her inspiring story AND some explanation around her philosophy around food with Bright Line Eating. [Admittedly, her program could not be more different than mine if she tried, and for good reason.]Bright Line Eating is just what it sounds like—a big, fat, glaring, BRIGHT LINE in the sand when it comes to setting boundaries and structuring your eating habits. But why?Susan's expertise comes from her own experience with addiction. What first was an alcohol and substance addiction she overcame at age 20, transformed into a food addiction as she made her way through college and her PhD. [Don't settle for this sparknotes version. Open the episode right now and listen to her incredible story. Yes. Right now.]Where my health goals thrive with moderation and the idea of filling half your plate with veggies, Susan's is hard nos around processed foods like sugar and weighing all your portions for every meal. She digs into why this structure is so important. For people with food addiction, structure and boundaries = freedom. It's the only way. Susan also has some great anecdotes for the excuses already spilling out of your mouth, like “I don't think I could ever have birthday cake again.” Get ready for this wisdom… The you NOW can't imagine that, but the future you doesn't even think about birthday cake. And there's more where that came from; Susan is bursting with some really empowering statements and insane knowledge… we even touch on the wonder drugs Ozempic and Wegovy. Before you sneak off… if this episode resonated with you, go check out Bright Line Eating online and take their susceptibility quiz to know where you stand with food addiction. I'm so excited to share my latest podcast episode with all of you! I had the honor of interviewing Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson, a neuroscientist and founder of the Bright Line Eating program. In this incredibly insightful conversation, Susan peeled back the layers on the science behind food addiction and offered a blueprint for finding freedom. She shared her own story of battling disordered eating for years before finally discovering the key to sustainable weight loss. I was blown away as Susan explained how modern processed foods can truly hijack the brain's reward system, flooding it with dopamine and triggering the same addictive pathways as drugs. This helps explain why so many of us feel trapped in cycles of overeating certain foods and yet unable to stop. The good news is Susan has developed a science-based program called Bright Line Eating that gives clear guidance on what to eat and, just as importantly, how to rewire your brain to overcome food obsession. She's helped hundreds of thousands of people break free from food addiction and transform their health. I learned so much from hearing Susan's story and expertise. This conversation is an absolute must-listen if you feel controlled by food rather than being in control of it. Tune in to understand yourself on a deeper level and start your own journey towards food freedom! Please share this episode with anyone you know who might benefit from learning about overcoming chronic dieting and disordered eating habits. When an overweight friend had a stroke, Tony W. realized that if he did not address his own weight and food issues, his health would continue to decline. Weighing 464 pounds, he had many obesity-related illnesses including neuropathy in his feet and five hernia surgeries. He grew up in a family and culture of fried foods and high-calorie foods. Tony got sober from drugs and alcohol using a 12-step recovery program, then began using food even more than he had. He entered the Bright Line Eating Program (https://www.brightlineeating.com/) and has released all of the extra pounds achieving a healthy body weight through eliminating sugar and flour, limiting the times he eats during the day, and weighing his food. The Bright Line Eating Program helped Tony focus on the inner emotional work required around the reasons he was using food. The work Susan Peirce Thompson, PhD (https://www.susanpeircethompson.com/), the founder of Bright Line Eating has done as a neuroscientist resonated with Tony given her focus on the chemical reaction in the brain when we ingest sugar and flour. He realized it was not his lack of willpower which caused his food addiction, but rather his body's response to addictive substances which set up cravings and obsessive behaviors around food. He talks about how automaticity began to play a part in his daily routine in which he has developed new habits that feel normal. Today Tony W. lives a happy, thin and free life through having recovered from food addiction as he continues to follow his program each day. What an inspiring and hopeful story of recovery from food addiction!
Decisions, decisions, decisions. I don't think people appreciate the sheer volume of decisions they make every day. This has led to decision fatigue, as well as with the added daily stressors of modern life a willpower gap crisis. Add engineered food at an industrial scale and we have a food addiction epidemic driving the rampant obesity and diabetes crisis This was a much needed episode with food psychologist and brain scientist Susan Peirce Thompson who went from drug addiction and teenage prostitution to dedicating her life to non-addictive eating, weight loss and why our brain is at the center of the metabolic disorder epidemic. She is president of the Institute for Sustainable Weight Loss and the founder of Bright Line Eating, a worldwide movement on a mission to help one million people have their Bright Transformations—the full physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional transformation that accompanies healthy, sustainable weight loss—by 2030. https://brightlineeating.com/ https://www.facebook.com/BrightLineEating https://www.instagram.com//brightlineeating/ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKNuQvVX_3SzNALJlvieH-Q More deets on the episode: We begin with Dr. Thompson's definition of codependency: when someone is doing for another what they could do for themselves. This may be for love, approval, to feel safe in themselves, or trying to prevent being hurt. She discusses the caregiver part related to IFS (Internal Family Systems) and how we often are wounded and trying to prevent further wounding. Dr. Thompson opens up about codependency in her own life and how her mother was codependent on her while she was an addict. We shift focus to Dr. Thompson's specialty of our relationship to our weight. According to Dr. Thompson, our weight and codependency connect through 1) the addiction pathway; or 2) the consolation pathway. With addiction, codependents may be vulnerable to this pathway since we may rely on substances to cope with life, however, we unconsciously select substances, like food, that help us maintain all of our responsibilities. With the consolation pathway, codependents may reward themselves or view food as a “prize” for all their hard work or when things don't go their way. Dr. Thompson details how codependency may directly impact our weight loss or weight gain. If we use food to help us “keep it together,” then we are likely to gain weight as a consequence. In contrast, if we are so over-focused on others and fulfilling their needs, we may neglect ourselves and lose weight due to self-neglect. She shares about her program, Bright Line Eating, and how she helps people get in touch with the underlying reasons that contribute to their problems with weight. She discusses the connection between weight and food addiction and how addicts and codependents are vulnerable to cross-addictions if they do not address the core issues contributing to their addiction. Dr. Thompson encourages us all to take her quiz at www.foodfreedomquiz.com to discover how susceptible we are to to food addiction. In order to create a healthier relationship with our weight and food, she suggests needing a more structured approach to eating, boundaries around meal time, establishing food rituals, incorporating meditation, inspirational readings, and journaling (ever heard of the 5-year journal?). Thank you for downloading the podcast! Today is round 2 with NYT Best selling author Susan Pierce-Thompson! This is a 2 part episode, so if you haven't heard the first part, it was all about her story. I got so much positive feedback that I know you're going to love this conversation. We get into how BLE came to be, we address some of the controversy surrounding some of the comments I got when I first announced that I was interviewing her, and we get into all the details about the program. Before we jump in, a word from our sponsor - Happy Soul Soap and Candle. This is actually one of my hobbies that has turned into a full blown obsession. I started making soap after my Mom passed away as a way to process my grief. It's kind of strange how the whole thing happened. I was doom scrolling on Tiktok and went down the rabbit hole of soaptok. I started learning all about different ingredients, techniques, fragrances and why its so much better than the detergent that's passed off as soap in the grocery story. As I was making soap I started sharing how to videos on Tiktok because I really saw the therapy benefits of being creative. Y'all, art therapy is a real thing. I started getting a lot of questions on how to make soap, so I've created a ton of content on there about how to make soap for beginners. If you are newly sober and find that you have a lot of free time on your hands, you need a new hobby! Visit my Tiktok account at @happysoulsoap to learn how to make soap yourself, or if you'd like to treat yourself to a luxurious bar of rich and creamy handmade soap, then visit happysoulsoapandcandle.com! That's it for the intro! Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson has the unique experience of being an addict along with having studied the science of food addiction. In her book Bright Line Eating, The Science of Living Happy, Thin and Free she discusses the concept of automaticity which is developing important new habits around the way we eat and behave. Her Susceptibility Scale quiz allows clients to determine on a scale of 1-10 how strongly their brains react to the reward of addictive foods."Her book, Rezoom addresses the ways in which we get off track from the program by lapsing. She offers ways to resume with acceptance and grace around addiction and recovery. Her approach toward various parts of our personalities that drive our food addiction such as the Saboteur, the Food Indulger and the Rebel helps her clients identify obstacles in their recovery and how to face them. She says the food industry is aware of our society's addiction to sugar and highly processed foods and deliberately is manufacturing it.Her new book is out, On This Bright Day, A Year of Reflections for Lasting Food Freedom has just been released and is a daily inspiration book to help food addicts recover. Dr. Susan Peirce Thompson is an inspiring person and a phenomenal advocate for recovery from food addiction! Today I'm speaking with Dr Susan Pierce-Thompson, who is not only a New York Times best selling author, she is also the creator of a program that has helped thousands and thousands of people to drop a significant amount of weight (I'm talking 20-100 lbs) and keep it off using 4 simple rules defined in her book “Bright Line Eating: The Science of Living Happy, Thin and Free”. This is actually a 2 part series because when we did our pre interview chat and discovered we had SO much in common, I knew we weren't going to be able to fit it all in one episode. Part one will be her story of how she became addicted to drugs and alcohol, how she overcame them and then her addiction transference to food and the origins of how she developed Bright Line Eating. Before we jump in, a word from our sponsor - Sober Life School! When I am not working on the podcast, I am working with women who are really ready to take control over their lives so that they can live a life of clarity, purpose and have meaningful experiences. What we all face is internal resistance. That resistance can show up in not only substance use disorders, but self-sabotage, procrastination and repeating behavior patters that leave us feeling stuck. Listen, I have been there and I know how to break through those barriers. I have done it in my own life and in the lives of the hundreds of women I have worked with over the last 29 years. With tools like hypnosis, coaching, and self-esteem building exercise, you can change. You can reach your goals, even if you've tried 1000 times and failed. Susan Peirce Thompson, PhD, is the founder of Bright Line Eating (BLE). In her teens, she started using drugs, just for fun and experimentation at first. But she got really hooked and her drug abuse got worse and worse.By the time she picked up speed (or crystal meth), she was 16 and was very concerned about her weight already. Except that when she used speed, she didn't feel she had to eat on it. And she lost a lot of weight. Susan finally got clean and sober when she was 20. Her drug addiction had lasted six years. But within nine months she'd gained 40 pounds. Susan started teaching in a community college, obtained her PhD, and got to develop courses in the psychology of eating and positive psychology. These laid the framework for what she ended up developing in Bright Line Eating.Eventually, Susan traded her 12-step meetings for food meetings. She finally found the right configuration of what to do with her food. She lost her excess weight... and kept it off.Susan has been slender now for 19 years. She learned the miracle of not eating sugar and flour. She also weighs and measures her food. Her life got so much better after that. For Susan, "none is easier than some". In this episode, Susan and I talk about food groups, whole foods, the NOVA food classification scale, individuality, what we need and what we want, her identity as a food addict, following rules, intuitive eating, and freedom.Find Susan and BLE here.To get rid of cravings, especially if you're an intermittent faster, download your 5 tips here. Also check out the Life After Sugar Facebook page, and subscribe to my Instagram account, TikTok, and to the Life After Sugar YouTube channel. To rate and review this podcast: scroll down in your podcast player on your phone and click on the stars. In the latest episode of the Simply Fit Podcast, I have the pleasure of speaking with Susan Peirce Thompson Susan is a neuroscientist, New York Times bestselling author, and founder and CEO of bright line eating. Susan's start to life wasn't easy by any means. Her exposure to drugs started at 14 years old and led her to a life of drug abuse and prostitution. After a moment of enlightenment, Susan turned her life around and has found herself sober ever since. Unfortunately one addiction turned itself into another and she then suffered with a food addiction for around 7 years, she courageously put an end to this addiction too (which she states was even harder than the drug addiction) and has committed herself to helping others do the same. In this episode you can expect to learn: How Susan overcame her drug addiction from one day to another. Why food addiction is one of, if not the hardest addiction to face. Along with what steps we can take to move towards a healthier relationship with food and breaking away from food addiction. Susan has overcome her own addictions and is now helping others do the same thing. Her passion for understanding addictions has helped her determine which foods and ingredients are more likely to be addictive. We talk about those foods and how to go about avoiding them. What the options are for people who are addicted but don't want to miss out on special events. As a neuroscientist, Susan shares a wealth of information in regards to how the brain processes the different spikes we get from food. She reveals how the brain and body need to work together in order to keep weight off long term instead of that all to familiar yo-yo diet scenario. We also discuss the science behind the body's craving for movement once you start feeding yourself properly.I highly recommend everyone take the FoodAddictionQuiz.com to find out how susceptible you are to food addiction. In today's episode, Susan Peirce Thompson shares how her company, Bright Line Eating, can help you achieve sustainable weight loss. She explains how food addiction is neurologically identical to any other addiction. Society's narrative is that our low self esteem comes from obesity but Thomspan argues that it is just the opposite, that processed foods are literally hijacking our brains resulting in unhealthy eating habits that inevitably degrade our self worth. With her structured meal plans, it becomes simple and easy to overcome destructive cravings by cutting off processed sugars and flours to restore your body, mind and self confidence. Takeaways: [4:00] What you eat today impacts what you will eat tomorrow [6:10] acknowledging that processed food can be as addicting as any other drug [8:50] Traits that contribute to food addiction: Impulsivity, Emotional Sensitivity and Obsessing [11:10] Intuitive eating approach does not work for individuals addicted to eating [13:00] If addiction is in play abstinence is actually very helpful [13:50] Refining and Processing: Sugar and Flour are linked to the most addictive foods [15:45] Leptin resistance is linked to insatiable hunger [19:20] Dopamine receptors: A brain addicted to heroine is identical to a brain addicted to sugar [22:15] Creating a bright line and quitting addictive foods [24:30] Low self esteem is the consequence of food addiction not the cause [26:00] Processed foods are hijacking our brains [27:30] Age is not a factor: You can use the brightline eating method successfully in menopause Mentioned in Episode: BrightLineEating.com Social Media Links: Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/BrightLineEating Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/brightlineeating/ Twitter Susan - https://twitter.com/DrSPThompson Please list any links you may mention in your interview so we can add them to our show notes. Here's a glimpse of our conversation: Friend, I know you're going to love this episode. I just know it. Brianna, welcome to the show. I am so excited for this conversation today. 4:46 I think every different season has something to teach us and something good to offer us and a way for us to grow. 8:28 For the last six and a half years, I've been teaching, I've been sharing, I've been using oils, and it's just been fun to see how now over time, our whole household like the first thing I go to when I'm when any of us need anything, whether it's, you know, some lotion to come at night or to or just like my daughter, like bit her lip, it's like something to help with, like, you know, the healing of the lip. It's like I go to essential oils. 10:35 I love the fact that every essential oil, whether it's a single oil or whether it's a blend has an emotional quality to it, you know, when we smell an oil, or we apply it topically, it works in our bodies to impact our mind and our mood, right. 11:40 Frankincense is kind of the known as the oil of divinity or oil of truth and where grace comes in is when we can really recognize the truth in a situation and really remain calm and grounded. And Frankincense is a beautiful one to support even physically, so your renewal and so it's a way to renew after needing a little bit more grace. 32:21 I really had struggled with my weight. And for a long time in my life and finding my worth in my weight, worth in how I looked, the size I was, it led to under eating, over eating, emotional eating, so many up and downs. When I could, when I finally found peace with food, in the sense, like food wasn't the enemy and it wasn't a friend, it was just something that I needed to fuel myself; something that could partner with me to nourish myself in the way I needed. That's when I started to like, realize, okay, I'm going to approach healthy eating not from a diet, I'm going to approach it from like, what's going to nourish me, and slowly change, change my habits. 35:44 Made Well actually came from the Bible, where Jesus, had gone to multiple people and said, you are made well or asking them “Do you want to be made well?” and I think that was it for me. Do I really want to be made well, or do I want to always struggle with this? And so, I was like, yeah, I do. And so that's when it started a different transformation. And I just felt like ultimately, my goal was to help women be made well. Ep#117 Today's episode shines the light on a whole new way to understand compulsive overeating and that's through the lens of food addiction. Research suggests something more complex might be going on with some foods that we eat that affect the brain's reward system similarly to the way addictive drugs do. When addiction is the underlying cause of obesity, traditional treatment with diets that rely on personal responsibility, lifestyle changes or “willpower”can have minimal effects. Today's guest is a visionary and leader in the field of food addiction. She is Susan Peirce Thompson, Ph.D.Adjunct Associate Professor of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Rochester, and an expert in the psychology of eating. She is a best selling author with 3 books, “Bright Line Eating: The Science of Living Happy, Thin, and Free”., "The Official Bright Line Eating Cookbook - Weight Loss Made Simple", and her newest book, "Rezoom: The Powerful Reframe to end the Crash-and-Burn Cycle of Food Addiction.”Susan is President of the Institute for Sustainable Weight Loss and CEO of Bright Line Eating Solutions (BLE), a company dedicated to helping people achieve long-term, sustainable weight loss by showing you how to rewire your brain and break the yo-yo diet cycle. BLE is geared towards those who are susceptible to addictive foods and have struggled to find peace and sanity around food. Grounded in psychology and neuroscience Susan's program uses cutting edge research to explain how modern processed foods impact the addiction centers of the brain. The complete opposite of the deprivation diet mindset, Bright Line Eating seeks to empower people for life, by creating a supportive community to heal the deeper emotional components that underlie addictive behaviors by integrating the tools of Positive Psychology and Internal Family Systems. But Bright Line Eating is more than just a way of eating—it's a movement. Their incredibly close-knit Online Support Community is the core of their program and provides the outreach and human connection essential to success. Thousands of people from more than 60 countries have participated in their information packed online courses, and their community is growing by tens of thousands each month. Have you heard of NSVs? That's an abbreviation for non-scale victories—a term that focuses on weight loss and fitness “wins” not measured by the scale. This is a term I learned from the Bright Line Eating community. ----------------------------------------------- Welcome to Ever Better Today: the daily podcast for creating your optimal business, career, or overall life in ten minutes or less. I'm Lisa Conners Vogt, Executive and Leadership Coach and founder of Ever Better Coaching and Consulting. Let's jump in! ----------------------------------------------- Here are examples of non-scale victories… Fitting into close in a smaller size. I recently was able to fit into size 6 jeans that didn't fit when I bought them! I haven't been weighing myself but noticed that my clothes fit more loosely and decided to try on those pants. And they fit! Achieving a cardio or endurance goal. I gave myself a goal on the rowing machine to do 1000 meters in five minutes or less. I'm now rowing 2,000 meters in 10 minutes or less and challenging myself to see how far I can row in 25 minutes. Recognizing that your joints are moving more freely. I follow the Bright Line Eating framework fairly closely. This involves no flour, no sugar, and three meals a day with no snacking in-between. My body detoxed for two weeks after cutting out flour and sugar. After that, I realized that my knees were no longer creaking when I got into and out of the car! ----------------------------------------------- We'd love to hear about your non-scale victories - NSVs! Share them here! ----------------------------------------------- To learn more about working with Ever Better, send me an email here or book a complimentary call with me here
