It is one thing for the Christian to say I believe, my family believes, my church believes what the Bible says. That is a right and essential to the Christian life. But it is another thing to say, “I believe the Bible teaches…” And it is that second statement we want to focus on in this week's episode. For those unaware, Media Gratiae is rooted in Reformed Baptist theology. To that end, we believe that the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession is a very helpful, systematic summarization of what we understand the Bible to teach. And so we want to introduce you to two men and their efforts to help us digest the truths in this baptist confession. The first man we want to introduce you to is Tom Ascol. He is the founder and president of Founders Ministries, president of the Institute on Public Theology, and pastors in Cape Coral Florida. The second man is Rob Ventura. A long-time friend of John, Rob is a pastor in Rhode Island and has written several books. His latest venture is being the editor of a commentary on the 1689 Baptist confession. Contributors to this work include Jeremy Walker, Sam Waldron, and others. John Snyder has even endorsed the book and we believe it will be a benefit to you. In this week's North American Ag Spotlight Chrissy Wozniak opens with a personal account of the days after Hurricane Ian devastated her community, and how Midwest Foodbank showed up when the community needed hope more than ever! Her local church  @Cape Vineyard was stocked with food from Midwest Foodbank and other organizations, and was ready to serve the people fast! Joining her today to talk about the hurricane impact and how they embraced the opportunity to serve are two guests, Karl Steidinger, Executive Director of the Midwest Food Bank & Scot Buss, Marketing and Development Manager of the Midwest Foodbank, Florida. As a faith-based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world and providing disaster relief; all without discrimination. Their vision is to provide industry-leading food relief to those in need while feeding them spiritually.Their story started in 2003 when the Kieser family actioned their faith to share their blessings. They turned a shed on their family farm into a distribution site for local food pantries. Soon they realized the need was more significant, and there was room for growth. Thanks to the generosity of their donors, the valuable work of volunteers, and most importantly, the blessings of God, Midwest Food Bank now shares the blessings worldwide. Midwest Food Bank currently distributes nearly $36 million worth of food to over 2,100 non-profit organizations each month. This is done from our twelve locations in Illinois, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Texas, Pennsylvania, New England, East Africa, and Haiti.Born in Central IL Karl grew up in a family of 5. Karl and Carrie moved their family to Cape Coral FL in 2016 and began working at a local ministry for single mothers. In 2017 Karl joined MFB as Operations Manager and later that same year assumed the role of Executive Director. Karl enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and shooting. “I feel blessed to be able to live out my faith in my occupation The MFB mission of, sharing the love of Christ while alleviating hunger and malnutrition and providing disaster relief, aligns well with my faith and I am grateful to be a small part of this fantastic organization.”Scot Buss found his calling when he started working in non-profit 5 years ago. He brings a business mind to the non-profit sector with over 25 years of sales experience. When he is not promoting #MFBFlorida, Scot coaches an Under-12 football team the South Naples Trojans. He also sits on a non-profit board and regularly volunteers his time serving underprivileged youth. Scot is so excited to be the Marketing and Development Manager at MFB Florida. What Makes Custom Pools by Design a Good Neighbor...Custom Pools by Design is here to offer the highest quality new pool builds to the SWFL area. There are many companies that build pools, and then there's us, which we pride ourselves on not just selling a product for a profit, rather we focus solely on the product we build and the quality within. We have grown from a small a family run business to the large company we are today, leading the area in new custom builds annually against our direct competitors, and that's not from the lowest prices and plethora of ads. We mainly focus on very little to no advertisement, and our prices are fair for the product delivered. We all know the best advertisement is word of mouth, and that's multiplied like crazy, leaving us with having to expand to serve as many clients as we're able to. We love what we do, and we treat clients exactly how we'd want to be treated, so if you're in the market for a new pool, and you want a company that truly focuses on quality coming first, you've found your company! To learn more about Custom Pools by Design, go to: https://custompoolsbydesign.com/Custom Pools by Design1007 SE 12th Ct.Cape Coral FL 33990239-573-4439Support the show (https://goodneighborpodcast.com)

It's Friday!!! It's 4th of July weekend! Do you have plans? Be careful with those fireworks. *Is Lazlo patriotic? Slimfast thinks not. It's time for Lazlo to take a patriotism test. How will he do? *Doomscrolling!! The rescue efforts continue in Florida but now they have a hurricane to worry about. Did you get the J&J vaccine? Looks like it will protect you from this delta variant. Are people in your neighborhood shooting off fireworks already? Well, they were in Cape Coral Florida and neighbor decided to protest the noise by screaming fireworks noises and even saying, "FIREWORKS! FIREWORKS! BOOM!" Looks like Richard Branson might beat Bezos to space but Bezos just invited and 82 year-old woman to join him on the journey. We now have round hots shaped like patties. Jeriney says it's just bologna and she's not the only one. A man is upset that his insurance company is shorting him after he burned his house down while trying to cook a steak in his toaster. There's a new reality coming to network TV. People get diarrhea and slide down slip-n-slides together. An Ohio cop was fired for making a KKK sign and putting it on another officer's desk. He's alleged to have literally said, "What are you gonna de? Fire me?' seconds before he was fired. McDonalds is giving out really good surprises in their Happy Meals. *Jobs that people think are glamorous but really aren't. Did your job make the list because mine did. *Things that guys do that piss off other guys. Julia wants to know if these things are true. *Slimfast is a Country Psychic and Jeriney found a fitting song for the holiday weekend. *Nick is on the show and he's got beef with everyone but Julia. *That's it! This is the magic of long term recovery. Sure after a year, you can see the benefits, and after a few more you have gone through all sorts of ups and downs and continue to hold on tight to sobriety. But this, long term recovery, is about really growing beyond that old, tired Recovering From story and stepping into who you truly are. Kelly is in the midst of this major transformation and recognizing it. . . I cannot express how grateful I am to have so many wonderful people trust me to interview them like Ruby Warrington, Laura McKowen, Pop Buchanan and so many others, it is my hope, that I also am able to contribute to their lives and show you how you might better see your growth. Love the podcast, but I feel like this impeachment concept is still not being communicated accurately. It's pretty simple though...The House of Reps impeaches (the Senate does not). You can think of this part of the process sort of like a criminal indictment that yields formal charges. If the House passes impeachment articles (charges), the process is moved into the Senate where they try the case (which is presided over by the chief justice of the SCOTUS). There are several options the Senate can take, but the ultimate outcome is conviction and removal from office. This is how a president can be impeached but not convicted or removed. Basically all that means is that the House was really pissed off at the president, voted on some charges, but the Senate didn't do anything concrete about it. - “submitted by Evan Tishuk Shout out to Dan Lundberg and Chuck Grovenor for educating us further on the process of impeachment in the Know Nonsense Trivia Facebook group. While "sussing" during the lil pacs episode Seth made the statement that the only disease to have ever been fully eradicated was polio and as a virologist I had to say something. The only disease to have ever been fully eradicated was smallpox, which was officially declared eradicated in 1980. Efforts to eradicate polio did not actually start until 1988. Since 1988, polio cases have dropped 99%, however, the disease is still present today and unfortunately is still not eradicated. In fact, in September of this year the Phillipines declared a polio outbreak. Love the podcast, and especially get excited when you guys ask virus related questions!!” - submitted by Brittany * “Alright guys, I'm officially confused. I think every time you do the Everybody Loves Raymond voice impression, you mention 4 kids. They only had 3 kids. Where is this 4th kid coming from? This actually screwed me up at my local trivia night a few weeks ago, when they actually asked how many kids they had on the show. I answered 4 because I thought I remembered it from the podcast. Missed Correction “A group of geese is called a gaggle on the ground, or in flight a skein or a wedge (not a gander).” - David “Homeboy on your latest podcast episode pulled a dirty trick with that whole "natural disaster" thing. Here is the Oxford definition: "a natural event such as a flood, earthquake, or hurricane that causes great damage or loss of life." It is universally known that the phrase refers specifically to extreme weather events events and ocean/seismic activity. He HAD to use that phrase to keep his trivia question difficult enough to not give away that the answer was a disease, but in my opinion it just indicates that the question should be framed a different way. Using the term "natural disaster" is deceiving, and completely incorrect according to popular use! I call bullshit.” - Tim, MN Round Two CULINARY ARTS - In French, what cooking term means “to slice into thin strips,” usually leafy greens? In this Quick Bite, Aimee is hosting a Facebook Live Beer chat live from No. 3 Craft Brews in Cape Coral Florida!  It was a great way to kick off the St. Patrick's Day weekend and spend some time with you, virtually sharing some delicious food from The Currywurst Food Truck and the Cottonmouth Belgian Wit from Swamphead Brewing. During the chat, we talk about what we have been up to over the past few weeks, like Podfest Media Expo and the Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Weekend.  We also reminisce about the amazing food from Asian Kitchen and the drink we had from Sociale Italian Tapas and Pizza Bar in Tampa, FL. We then discuss some great stuff that's coming up, namely our next big race, the Run The Bluegrass Half Marathon in Lexington, KY! Finally, are making some format changes to the show and want to tell you about them.  These changes should make it even easier for you to take us with you when you are on-the-go.
