#016: Monique Farook is an entrepreneur, women's health advocate, wife, and mom to one IVF conceived child. Monique began the Infertility And Me Podcast (I.A.M) & community in the winter of 2019; two years after giving birth to her son and after 4 1/2 years of struggling to become a mom. At the time, there weren't many women who looked like her speaking publicly about the impacts of infertility. I.A.M was created to give voice to the silent-sufferers everywhere, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or marital status. Today I talk to Monique about her journey to motherhood, her roots in the infertility community, and how spirituality and self-care saved her life. Monique Farook, the host of the award-winning Infertility and Me podcast, joins Julia to discuss her journey through infertility. Monique faced a multi-year battle with infertility in which she grappled with feelings of shame and anger, experienced racial discrimination by her doctors, navigated a tubal blockage, hypothyroidism, surgery, and natural cycle IVF. We discuss her decision to return to the medical system following a loss of trust in the medical community following experiencing racial bias in her fertility treatment. We laugh about the challenges of raising toddler boys and celebrate that her podcast reaches the unseen and underserved communities facing infertility. In addition, she candidly reveals her story about her marriage, her medical diagnosis, and the premature birth of their son. Don't miss this honest and sometimes emotional episode of Stork'd. IN THIS EPISODE: [00:00] Julia shares Monique's accomplishments [05:09] Monique discusses why she started her podcast and the difficulty of finding podcasts created by women of color [12:02] The journey of navigating infertility and the discrimination Monique felt, and how this situation affected her marriage [23:25] Monique finally accepted that God wasn't punishing her; it was a medical problem [28:32] Making the analytical decision of why you want to be a mother [30:17] Raising children to become decent human beings that will have an impact on the world [34:41] The process Monique and her husband went through to become pregnant [39:12] A son is born and is in the NICU for 129 days [45:12] Monique speaks about listeners of her podcast. Women need to discuss their grief [46:31] Monique shares her definition of family KEY TAKEAWAYS: Anger, denial, and even jealousy of another woman who can become pregnant are all natural emotions when going through infertility. Blaming the inability to become pregnant is not a punishment from God. It takes time to see the issue as a medical problem, not a punishment. It is critical to decide why you want a baby. Just wanting a cuddly baby isn't reason enough. Being a mom becomes a job for a lifetime. Join Dr. Tara Brandner and Monique Farook from Infertility and Me Podcast as she shares her three hopeful hints and how infertility impacts your relationship as a couple. You don't want to miss this dynamite episode! Monique is an entrepreneur, wife, and mom. She was diagnosed with infertility in 2012, at the age of 29 years old, and married for two years. The HSG test at the time showed a blocked tube. Monique and her husband attempted one IUI cycle, which was unsuccessful. They decided they were not ready to have further testing or proceed with IVF treatment. Four years went by before Monique sought the help of a reproductive endocrinologist again. In the spring of 2016, she found a new REI and further testing discovered there was no blocked tube anymore. Ultrasounds showed uterine polyps and blood tests revealed low thyroid levels. Monique became pregnant after her second egg retrieval late summer of 2016. As the evening wore on, some of Martine's' friends began to feel tired and at about 2 am decided to go back to their flats. Martine wasn't ready to go home just yet, and wanted to stay out and have more fun. CCTV shows Martine and Farook leaving the club together at between 2 and 3 am, and getting into a taxi apparently to go to another night club. At the time they were no more than a mile from the basement where a horrific discovery would be made just 2 days later. Show notes: Please note this episode was written by our guest writer. Monique walked into a fertility clinic, a time when we are often our most vulnerable selves, and she was treated differently than another couple in the clinic... because she was black. In today's episode, we are continuing the hard (and necessary) conversation about racism and infertility and how racism extends far beyond treatment in a fertility clinic lobby. While Monique Farouk, host of the Infertility and Me Podcast, is making a profound impact on social media and via her podcast, she's also sitting down with us in today's episode to talk about her personal journey with infertility, navigating racism, and ultimately providing space and hope for others (and she does all of this with a big slice of humor too)! In this episode we're talking Education Tech Apps with Ibrahim Farook, CEO, Cosmico Ibrahim Farook founded BIE in 2018. He left his job as a broker to pursue his dream of creating a platform designed with the intention of disrupting the Educational Technology (EdTech) industry, using innovative learning concepts in combination with cutting-edge technology. The entrepreneurial spirit in Ibrahim roots from his own personal struggles with education. Growing up with a diagnosis of dyslexia, in an environment that was not inclusive towards students with learning differences, his own learning gaps developed. This became the driving force that keeps Ibrahim and his team motivated towards achieving meaningful and transformative work, which has led to the development of their gamified, learning app.

Rathinavani 90.8 CR | World Breastfeeding Week 2020 | ICDS Madam Rupa Talks | CoViD Breast Feeding Importance | Community Radio Listener Mr. Farook Bhadsha Wishes | Eid al-Adha | WHO World Breastfeeding Week 2020 Message The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2020 is “Support breastfeeding for a healthier planet”. In line with this theme, WHO and UNICEF are calling on governments to protect and promote women’s access to skilled breastfeeding counselling, a critical component of breastfeeding support. Breastfeeding provides every child with the best possible start in life. It delivers health, nutritional and emotional benefits to both children and mothers. And it forms part of a sustainable food system. But while breastfeeding is a natural process, it is not always easy. Mothers need support – both to get started and to sustain breastfeeding When is Eid al-Adha? Known as Eid al-Adha, Eid ul Adha, Id-ul-Azha, Id-ul-Zuha, Hari Raya Haji or Bakr-id; the 'Feast of Sacrifice' is the most important feast of the Muslim calendar. The festival may also be known as Al Eid Al Kabeer, which means the 'Grand Eid'. It has this more important status as in religious terms as this Eid lasts for four days whereas Eid Al Fitr is one day, even though most countries observe about the same number of public holidays for both Eids. This festival is celebrated throughout the Muslim world as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice everything for God.

One of the keys to explosive success in the Amazon space is creating compelling graphics to complement your on-point copy. But what if you’re not a graphic designer? Should you spend hundreds… thousands of dollars on graphic design tools and graphic designers? No! Here to discuss his innovative new graphic tool is Omar Farook, the founder of Glorify. I am in no way trying to ply you with tools and gimmicks designed to make your Amazon selling business “go big.” I intend to provide you with the strategies and techniques that will make a difference in the long-game of your business. But no matter how you look at it, amazing design in your listings is a key component to increased sales. After using Glorify for only a few a month, my team and I are complete converts. What Punishment Should We Give To Abstention? Our Rathinavani 90.8 Community Radio Listener Farook Baadsha Speaks up his Suggestions & Ideas for Election Commission of India ! Pre Recorded Show - Before 18th April 2019 What is Abstention? Abstention is a term in election procedure for when a participant in a vote either does not go to vote (on election day) or, inparliamentary procedure, is present during the vote, but does not cast a ballot.[1] Abstention must be contrasted with "blank vote", in which a voter casts a ballot willfully made invalid by marking it wrongly or by not marking anything at all. A "blank (or white) voter" has voted, although their vote may be considered a spoilt vote, depending on each legislation, while an abstaining voter hasn't voted. Both forms (abstention and blank vote) may or may not, depending on the circumstances, be considered to be a protest vote (also known as a "blank vote" or "white vote").

On December 2, 2015, a man named Syed Rizwan Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, opened fire on employees of the Department of Public Health in San Bernardino, California, killing 14 people and injuring 22 during what was supposed to be a staff meeting and holiday celebration. The shooters were tracked down and killed later in the day, and FBI agents wasted no time trying to understand the motivations of Farook and to get the fullest possible sense of his contacts and his network.

The FBI wants Apple to write some code to unlock the phone of the San Bernardino shooter, and Apple has filed an appeal to make sure they're not compelled to do so. Is it a ravenous attack on privacy? Is it not a big deal? Xander and Erik have done a ton of research and take on both sides of the argument: should Apple be forced to write the code? What are the long-term implications? We break down the technical details, the precedents and legal cases being brought to bear, and the potential long-term consequences and precedents. This week's episode is a great example of political disagreement in the Considerate style! UPDATE: Edward Snowden weighs in on the FBI's claim that it needs Apple's help to get into Farook's phone, calling it "bullshit." UPDATE 2: Apple claims that if the FBI... How Did Syed Farook Get Radicalised?
Freedom of speech is our Constitutional right, and it is my duty to offend you.
Did Jesus tell Followers of the Way to be pacifists? Does Scripture demand us to kneel our way into our own demise? OR, does God expect us to survive and thrive and RESIST? It is important to understand that there is an agenda being pushed by the news media and by all media that our culture promotes - and folks, it isn't God's agenda. Just as applicable in regard to deception and bad sources of information; think about the “clergy” out there dispensing their brand of re-creating God in their own image… I talked about this in last Monday's broadcast… If we cannot trust the press, and we cannot trust many of our pastors, who CAN you Trust? Find out HERE. Today!! Right Here!! Also, at no additional cost or obligation to you, learn some basic things YOU CAN DO not IF, but WHEN ISIS comes to YOUR home town. The time for rhetoric, for meaningless words is no more. Action, decisive effective action is what is needed now.... But, what to do... what to do?

LIGHTSPEED MAGAZINE - Science Fiction and Fantasy Story Podcast (Sci-Fi | Audiobook | Short Stories)
No one said anything, but Sull could tell they were all a little jealous when he lost his arms and legs. The arms went first, the left one during a bath and the right one a few days later, while he was being fed. Then both legs went at once, which was rare, and Sull was proud of it. He was sitting in a marketing meeting with Glenda and Farook when suddenly his legs quivered and then turned into a slightly viscous liquid that ran out of his trousers like toothpaste from a tube. The liquid ran down the drain under the table with a soft slurping sound. Narrated by Paul Boehmer.
