Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future. For our first live show taping in May, Jemma DeCristo, LaVelle Ridley, and Mama Ganuush spoke brilliantly on Trans Black-Palestinian Solidarity amidst the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Naturally, given the topic, things got emotional. Thanks to everyone who made the night possible! Jemma Decristo currently holds the record for most appearances on Sad Francisco! Her repertoire includes the episodes "Is the Transgender District a Force for Liberation or Gentrification?" and "Hot Cop of the Castro" This was LaVelle Ridley's debut episode; she will return! Mama Ganuush (the episode with Mama Ganuush from earlier this year, "We're Queer, We're Trans, No Peace on Stolen Land!" is a must-listen)

Live from Meigs Field, it's the final Untitled Beatles Podcast! Of 2023, that is! Unless you know something we don't? What is you [sic], a cop? If so, are you as effortlessly bouncy as the cop in "Hot Cop", the Village People's #2 Billboard Disco Charts smash from '78? #HotCop Anyhoo, it's onto Side 2, as we continue to deep dish “Band On The Run”, Paul's most beloved album that doesn't feature the word “Oratorio”. And because Tony, T.J., Producer Casey, and Sir Paul are all obviously Americans, we'll consider the US version that includes the powerhouse single, “Helen Wheels”, not to mention much more memorable Macca music. Plus, we'll examine this album's rough beginning in Lagos and unmatched legacy within Paul's recorded catalog, the celebrated cover and packaging, and also:

Daniel Rengering came on the episode to talk about what it was like to unexpectedly go viral when his job at the Gainesville Police Department posted a photo of him in 2017 during Hurricane Erma that went viral. From there he started modeling for the covers of romance novels and appeared on Season 37 David vs. Goliath of Survivor on CBS. This week Farah and I discuss the summer trend. Cops murdering Black people. We often hear about the rise in violence in communities when it gets warmer. Grab a bowl of Cookie Crisp; you're gonna need it. The plan is to discuss every Saturday morning cartoon from way back in 1980, even if it takes three episodes (one for each network). We're starting with ABC, whose Saturday morning lineup included Super Friends (with evil robot space monkey Gleek), Fonz and the Happy Days Gang (with Cupcake and her flying saucer time machine), Richie Rich and Scooby Doo (and alas, Scrappy too), Thundarr the Barbarian (whose post-apocalyptic world seems all too familiar these days), Heathcliff and Dingbat (it's a vampire dog - deal with it), Plastic Man (and his ridiculous son, Baby Plas), and more. How many cartoon dogs can be voiced by one man on one network? Only Frank Welker knows the truth. Also: We wish a Happy Birthday to our favorite Hot Cop, Will Arnett; Kornflake attempts online trivia; Maryellen has a creepy doll; Brittany and Martha launch their new podcast But First, Let's Talk Nerdy; and Kevin goes to Classic Sci-Fi Court to defend Molly Ringwald in space. Don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast in your favorite podcasting platform — and while you’re there, please leave us a like or a review! In two weeks, we’re going to a classic of classics! The read was on both Jen & Sarah’s list—Loretta Chase’s Lord of Scoundrels, which is on the lions’ share of Best Romance Novels Ever lists. We’ll get into why. Read Lord of Scoundrels at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo or your local indie.Show Notes- We love Sierra Simone! Sarah talked about Sinner on the Best Friend's Sibling episode, and Sierra was a special guest on our MacRieve episode. She'll also be joining us on a very special future interstitial.- Will Kresley drop Munro like Beyonce? One can only hope.- If you want to join Sarah's FB Old School Romance Book Club group, click here and wait for moderator approval. We (try to remember but sometimes have to be reminded to) post a discussion post for each week's episode there.- Have you listened to what we consider to be our sister podcasts: The Wicked Wallflowers, Heaving Bosoms, and Black Chick Lit? We also love Learning the Tropes and RomBkPod. Check them out for all your listening needs.- Facebook is garbage and Zuckerberg is aiming for Bond Villain.- The modern day dirty priest fantasy is Fleabag, the old school one is The Thornbirds.- If you're not following Jen Porter on Twitter, what are you doing with your life?- Sierra's Markham Hall series is an erotic retelling of Jane Eyre.- Jen doesn't like first person present.- What does it even mean to be star-crossed?- More about reader response theory.- A defintion of "framing device" and how they work in fiction.- In the Catholic Church, penance is one of seven sacraments.- In case you want to know more about hairshirts as a thing, but please don't wear one.- In the Ice Planet Barbarians series, the khui is a mystical thing on the ice planet. That's really all you need to know.- More about the history of Rhode Island as a haven for escaped Catholics. No not that kind of escaped Catholic.- The 2015 movie Spotlight is about the investigative journalists who broke the story of priest sexual abuse in Boston. In one famous scene, a reporter knock on the door of a retired priest who answers her questions in a shocking way. (All the trigger warnings on that scene, by the way.)- Mark Ruffalo the hulk vs Mark Ruffalo in Spotlight.- Sarah recommends the audio of Priest.- This summer, the Catholic Diocese of Providence released the names of 50 priests who were credibly accused of abuse.- Celibacy is a core tenent of Catholic priesthood, but as less and less men enter the priesthood, that might be changing in some interesting ways. Please note that the Vatican is more likely to lift celibacy requirements before they'd allow the ordination of women.- Eddie Izzard.- If this is the defintiion of an inspirational romance, then Priest qualifies.- The Tessa Bailey book with "baby girl" is Fix Her Up. It's hot if you don't mind that sort of thing.- What we know about priests and sexual abuse.- Hot Cop is a book by Sierra Simone and Laurelin Page.- In season 2 of Fleabag, the therapist who asks if she wants to "fuck the priest or fuck God" was played by Fiona Shaw. Kristen Scott Thomas gives a barn burner of a speech after the "people are all we have" moment.- All about Saint Anselm.- In case you don't know, the home at the parish for the priest is called the rectory.- Sarah refers to the book of the Bible as Song of Songs, but it's also called the Song of Solomon.- Jenny Nordbak was a guest host on Heaving Bosoms talking about Priest, and it's a great episode if you just need more. Sierra Simone was also on a delicious episode of Wicked Wallflowers!- The sequel to Priest is called Midnight Mass.- Why is a nun's outfit called a habit?- Erin from Heaving Bosoms famously does not read prologues or epilogues. We love her even though we don't really understand.- Shop for buttons from Best Friend Kelly and t-shirts and totes from Sarah.- Christina called in today to talk about Colleen McCullough's The Thornbirds, and we hope she enjoyed Sarah's shout out to it this week!- Coming up: Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase on Nov 20, 2019; Indigo by Beverly Jenkins on Dec 4, 2019; Born in Ice by Nora Roberts on Dec 18, 2019; and A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught on Jan 8, 2020.

Episode 44: We're Hot Cops by Voyage Down The Amazon
Officer Ashley Smith (of Instagram fame) and Lauren The Hot Cop join Kevin & Sully for this wild ride. This is Lauren's second appearance on the podcast, as she has great flow with the boys. It's Ashley's first time, but you'd never know it with how animated she is. We hear a few stories from their travels across the country this year and last. They went together to the "Shot Show" in Las Vegas. The Shot Show is an annual trade show for the shooting, hunting, and firearms industry. Ashley went to the Arnold Fitness Expo in Columbus, OH and Lauren's stories from police week in Washington, DC. These two are hilarious together and the boys had some fun of course. Kevin asks Lauren about her Wiccan religion and being a "witch". Believe it or not, Wiccan is a very peaceful, harmonious and balanced way of life which promotes oneness with the divine and all which exists. Lauren insists she's a good witch and has stood in her yard naked, to charge her crystals before. She promotes positivity and believes that what you put out, you get back. Ashley talks about the Arnold and shares some stories from that, but one of the funniest stories comes out of their recent trip to the Shot Show. Ashley brings up Lauren's sleep sounds app, and how she needs the volume up all the way. Lauren insists that "rain on a tent" is the best way to fall asleep, however, it kept Ashley up. But during this time, Ashley learned all about Lauren's ways in following the Wiccan religion and was quite intrigued. As we said earlier, this episode takes a lot of twists and turns, and it's guaranteed to have you laughing throughout. Kevin and Sully bring you their longest episode yet, and you'll want to listen to the whole thing.
