It is the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), and the 32nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Written and directed by James Gunn, it features an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Will Poulter, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Linda Cardellini, Nathan Fillion, and Sylvester Stallone. In the film, the Guardians embark on a mission to protect Rocket (Cooper) from the High Evolutionary (Iwuji). Gunn stated in November 2014 that he had initial ideas for a third and final film in the series, and announced his return to write and direct in April 2017. Disney fired him from the film in July 2018 following the resurfacing of controversial posts on Twitter, but the studio reversed course by that October and reinstated him. Gunn's return was publicly revealed in March 2019, with production resuming after he completed work for DC on The Suicide Squad (2021) and the first season of its spin-off series Peacemaker (2022). Filming began in November 2021 at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, and lasted until May 2022. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 premiered at Disneyland Paris on April 22, 2023, and was released in the United States on May 5, as part of Phase Five of the MCU. Like its predecessors, it was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $845 million worldwide, and becoming the third-highest-grossing film of 2023.

Following 2 Passions, The Navy and NASCAR: Interview with Jessie Iwuji: S3E12In all things Jesse Iwuji does, there are two constant elements: his devotion to service and his inspirational nature to many. Jesse went from competing at the top level of Division-1A college football to rising the ranks of the military as a Lieutenant Commander and is now the only current driver in all of NASCAR at the national levels that actively serves his country as a US Military member. It has been key for Iwuji, who is currently serving in our country's reserve fighting force, to honor his country while pursuing excellence in the business world as a business owner and on the track as a driver. It should come as no surprise that he has championed companies and charities that give back to our men and women in uniform.Jesse is also a big supporter of NASCAR diversity, equity, and inclusion. Today he is one of two African Americans competing at NASCARs national level of racing. He was honored by NASCAR for two years in a row – the Diverse Driver of the Year Award. He is well versed both on and off the track! It is fair to say in many ways Jesse is a first in NASCAR. While clawing toward the top tiers of NASCAR, Jesse Iwuji continues to take us all along for a memorable ride showing those who dare to dream that life truly rewards those who stay strong enough, long enough.Websites:Jesse Iwuji RacingJesse Iwuji MotorsportsLinkedIn:(6) Jesse Iwuji | LinkedInInstagram:Jesse Iwuji (@jesse_iwuji) • Instagram photos and videosTwitter:(5) Jesse Iwuji (@Jesse_Iwuji) / Twitter(5) Jesse Iwuji Motorsports (@JIMS__official) / TwitterEric Reyes: Host of Hey Coach! First in Previously On (2:07), Jason and Rosie discuss casting news, including the Sonyverse's Chameleon and MCU's Blade, how immersed Paul Dano got in his Riddler role, and the release of more Thor: Love and Thunder Legos and what that might tell us about phase 4 and 5 of the MCU. In the Airlock (29:57) Jason and Rosie dive deep (deeeep) into HBO Max's Peacemaker, discussing James Gunn's trademark style, Peacemaker season 2, and the historical precedents for DC / Marvel creative crossovers. In the Hive Mind (1:22:24), Jason is joined by Peacemaker star Chukwudi Iwuji for a charming conversation about working with James Gunn, acting from the page, his father's burgeoning cinephilia, and trying to keep up comedically with John Cena (plus how that opening dance sequence came together). In Nerd Out (1:41:22) a listener pitches us on Amazon Prime's The Legend of Vox Machina and the webseries Critical Role that inspired it. Chukwudi Iwuji has been celebrated for his stage work (particularly Shakespeare) on both sides of the pond. He got raves for his Henvy VI at RSC, and his Othello and Hamlet at The Public, to names just a few. The raves continued for his performances in “The Low Road” (Obie win) and Ivo van Hove's “Hedda Gabler.” He has only recently been transitioning, in a concerted way, to film work. James Gunn rewrote Clemson Murn in “Peacemaker” after seeing Iwuji's audition, then put him in “Guardians of the Galaxy 3,” and called him one of the greatest actors who has graced his camera. In this episode, Iwuji talks about what Gunn and Hove have given him, what he needs from a director in general, his realization of the essence of the difference between film and stage performance, why he gets off book immediately, the importance of feeding your work with substance other than work, and much more. In all things Jesse Iwuji does, there are two constant elements: his devotion to service and his inspirational nature to many. Jesse went from competing at the top level of Division-1A college football to rising the ranks of the military as a Lieutenant Commander, and is now the only current driver in all of NASCAR at the national levels that actively serves his country as a US Military member. It has been key for Iwuji, who is currently serving in our country's reserve fighting force, to honor his country while pursuing excellence in the business world as a business owner and on the track as a driver. It should come as no surprise that he has championed companies and charities that give back to our men and women in uniform. Jesse is also a big supporter of NASCAR diversity, equity, and inclusion. Today he is one of two African Americans competing at NASCARs national level of racing. He was honored by NASCAR for two years in a row – the Diverse Driver of the Year Award. He is well versed both on and off the track! learn more at www.ericbrooker.com & www.jesseiwuji.com

After his football career ended, Jesse found racing. However, he was at a disadvantage compared to his peers who started racing at a very early age: Iwuji started in his mid 20’s. He lacked sponsorship and he wasn’t born into a racing family. Despite this, his determination has led him to a variety of open doors. He funded the first part of his NASCAR K&N racing career through a variety of ways to include starting his own business. Currently he is racing in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series.
