Unveiling the First Chapter of James Gunn's DCU: "Creature Commandos"  As the DC Universe (DCU) embarks on a new era under the visionary leadership of James Gunn, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of "Creature Commandos," the first project in this exciting new chapter. Set to stream on HBO Max in December 2024, this animated series promises to deliver a unique blend of action, adventure, and supernatural elements that will captivate audiences.  "Creature Commandos" follows a black ops team of monsters assembled by Amanda Waller, featuring a diverse cast of characters including a werewolf, a vampire, Frankenstein's monster, and a gorgon  . This eclectic group of military superhumans is tasked with taking on dangerous missions that no ordinary team could handle. The series is based on the comic book series first introduced in "Weird War Tales" #93 in November 1980 .  One of the standout aspects of "Creature Commandos" is the involvement of Sean Gunn, the talented brother of James Gunn. Sean lends his voice to multiple characters in the show, including G.I. Robot, a military android with a mission to eliminate Nazis . His performance adds depth and personality to the animated series, bringing these unique characters to life in a way that only he can.  We were fortunate enough to have Sean Gunn join us on our podcast, where he shared some fascinating behind-the-scenes details about the making of "Creature Commandos." During the interview, Sean discussed the creative process, the challenges of voicing multiple characters, and the excitement of being part of his brother's groundbreaking project. His insights provided a deeper understanding of the show's development and the passion that drives the Gunn brothers' work.  James Gunn, who serves as the showrunner and writer for "Creature Commandos," has crafted a narrative that is both thrilling and thought-provoking . The series is part of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, setting the stage for future projects that will expand this new universe. With a star-studded cast that includes Steve Agee, Maria Bakalova, Anya Chalotra, Zoë Chao, Frank Grillo, David Harbour, Alan Tudyk, Indira Varma, and Viola Davis, "Creature Commandos" is poised to be a must-watch series for fans of the DCU .  As we count down to the premiere of "Creature Commandos" on HBO Max, the anticipation continues to build. This series not only marks the beginning of a new era for the DCU but also showcases the creative genius of James Gunn and the incredible talent of his brother, Sean Gunn. Stay tuned for more updates and exclusive content as we get closer to the release date.  Don't miss out on this thrilling adventure that promises to redefine the superhero genre and take us on a journey like no other.  https://mostlysuperheroes.com/season-5-blogcast/dc-creature-commandos-max  Source: Conversation with Copilot, 7/31/2024  Creature Commandos (TV Series 2024– ) - IMDb  Creature Commandos (TV series) - Wikipedia  Sean Gunn & Chukwudi Iwuji Interview: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3  GOTG Vol. 3's James & Sean Gunn Answer the Web's Most ... - YouTube  Sean Gunn interview about his character Kraglin in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Interview: Sean Gunn - That Shelf  Sean Gunn Comic Con 2024 Announcing Comic Book with Dynamite ...  Sean Gunn Interview: Avengers: Endgame - Screen Rant  This Max Show Will Be James Gunn's "First Expression" of New ... - Collider  Creature Commandos Update Given by James Gunn for First DCU Show  https://www.twitter.com  http://wrd.cm/15fP7B7  https://link.chtbl.com/wired-ytc-desc  https://subscribe.wired.com/subscribe  https://wrd.cm/DailyYT  ©2024 Carrogan Ventures, LLC

The Madames play a little catch-up as they cover Episodes 2 & 3 of What If.    In the alternate universe of Episode 2, Ego sends the Ravagers to kidnap his human son, Peter Quill. However, they accidentally kidnap T'Challa, Prince of Wakanda by accident. T'Challa becomes a Robin Hood version of Star-Lord. Along with his cohorts Korath, Thanos, Nebula, Yondu, Kraglin, and Taserface, T'Challa plots to capture the Embers of Genesis from the Collector. The team is successful & T'Challa is ultimately reunited with his Wakandan family.    Episode 2 stars Chadwick Boseman, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Michael Rooker, Josh Brolin, Kurt Russell, John Kani, Benicio Del Toro, Sean Gunn, Chris Sullivan, Seth Green, Danai Gurira, Carrie Coon, Jeffrey Wright, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Ophelia Lovibond, and Fred Tatasciore.   Episode 3 calls back to several Marvel movies, including The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In this universe, the Avengers are never formed because they are systematically murdered before they can team up. Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Clint Barton, Thor, and Natasha Romanoff are all killed in mysterious ways. It's up to Nick Fury & Agent Phil Coulson to find the killer. Thanks to some information found by Black Widow and an uneasy alliance with Loki, Fury finds & neutralizes the killer, Hank Pym. Pym was on a mission to avenge his daughter Hope Van Dyne, who, in this universe, was a S.H.I.E.L.D. killed in the line of duty. Fury's alliance with Loki ultimately backfires, as the God of Mischief successfully takes over the world. But Fury is determined to defeat Loki's army, and Captain Marvel arrives to help.    Episode 3 stars Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Lake Bell, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Frank Grillo, Stephanie Panisello, Jaimie Alexander, and Jeffrey Wright.   Online Warriors Podcast:   Twitter   IG   Website   For more details on the film/TV references that spill out of Kris's (and occasionally Amy's) brain, as well as links to other podcasts, visit the episode page on our website: Episode page link Email us at themarvelousmadames@gmail.com Follow us on Twitter  Instagram  Tumblr

On this episode of the FHP, Hanako, Anthony, and Mike discuss the second episode of the Disney+ series, Marvel's What If...? This episode is a bittersweet one, as it features a voiceover appearance from the late Chadwick Boseman in one of his final appearances as the Wakandan Prince, T'Challa. Young T'Challa has the heart of an adventurer and when he leaves the safety of the dome protecting Wakanda to retrieve his spear, his world is turned upside down when he is picked up by Kraglin and Taser Face, who mistake him for a young Peter Quill. T'Challa is taken to Yondu, and after expressing interest in exploring the stars, he becomes Yondu's ward, and with the Ravagers, they set about to save the universe. This episode features several surprising appearances, and is hilarious enough from start-to-finish to keep you from being saddened at the thought of the "what ifs" of the MCU had Boseman survived his years-long fight with cancer. The beautiful tribute at the end, however, will hit you in the feels. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/fandomhybridpodcast/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fandomhybridpodcast/support

As Deadline indicated today, we heard that Disney kept Free Guy theatrical due to a previous pay-one agreement with HBO; that's the reason it couldn't send the Ryan Reynolds movie to Disney+ Premier, which is the upper tier of the streaming service where subscribers can purchase current theatrical titles for $29.99 each.   As far as the theatrical window for the upcoming Labor Day weekend release of Marvel's Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Chapek called the 45-day frame for the pic before it hits Disney+ “an interesting experiment,” and “another data point” for the studio as it juggles theatrical releases with its streaming service.   Shang-Chi Early Reactions Promise The MCU's Best Action Movie https://screenrant.com/shang-chi-movie-early-reactions-reviews/   Marvel Studios held the world premiere of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in Los Angeles on Monday, August 16. In What If? Episode 2 we see how another small choice affects the entire universe. This time we discover what would happen if the Prince of Wakanda T'Challa went to space instead of music loving Peter Quill. This is a spoiler filled podcast all about the episode. Marvel's What If? Episode 2 Synopsis Executive Produced by: Bryan Andrews, A.C. Bradley, Brad Winderbaum with Kevin Feige Head Writer: A.C. Bradley Episode Written by: Matthew Chauncey Episode Directed By: Bryan Andrews A small choice can change the universe! It's 1988, and in Wakanda the young and curious Prince T'Challa chooses to leave the nation's protective shield. Unfortunately an alien team of Space Pirates known as Ravagers have chosen to land at the same coordinates. Mistaking the young prince for the human son of a being known as Ego, they abduct the boy and take him into the galaxy. Now an adult T'Challa Starlord is notorious throughout the galaxy for his adventures, stealing from the rich to give to the poor alongside his adoptive father Yondu and his crew of Ravagers. He's been told Wakanda was destroyed and his family killed back on earth. Following a successful job on Morag, Starlord returns not only with an infinity stone but with a new crew member, Korath “the Pursuer”. As they celebrate their success back at the Iron Lotus bar on Contraxia, with Thanos the sometimes Mad Titan, Kraglin and Taserface, Nebula comes to T'Challa with a proposition for a heist on the planet Knowhere - to steal the Embers of Genesis from the fearsome galactic crime boss the Collector. Slipping past the Black Order and infiltrating the Collectors collection, while searching for the Embers, T'Challa comes across a Wakandan ship and discovers that Yondu has lied to him about his family's death. At the same time Nebula seemingly betrays T'Challa and the Ravagers to pay off an old debt she has to the Collector. Locked up on Knowhere, things are awkward between T'Challa and Yondu, but T'Challa is taken away to be prepared for collection by the Collector just as Nebula's double, double cross plays out. As the Ravagers escape, Yondu and T'Challa fight the Collector employing the “sticky fingers” tactic to defeat him and face justice from his assistant Carina and all of his other collected pieces from across the galaxy. After escaping, Yondu and Starlord sort out their differences and T'Challa takes his adopted space family to meet his family in Wakanda. Elsewhere, in a Dairy Queen in Missouri a young employee is mopping the floor, as the door opens a man shaped living planet called Ego comes for his son Peter Quill. Marvel's What If? Parallel Fiction Episode 6 covers Unlikely Parents.  Outlined as characters who have to begrudgingly take on a young companion, unlikely parents are usually gruff and tough characters who warm up over time.  Heather covers Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, and Jeff covers their first video game when he presents The Last of Us. After Jeff's Rock, Paper, Scissors streak continues, Heather's review comes first, followed by Jeff. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, as told by Heather, is an outer space story about fathers.  Pulling from star Chris Pratt's own personal loss, his character portrayal of Peter Quill is layered in a very real fatherly longing for space pirate Yondu, played by Michael Rooker.  Heather gives fun facts about the raccoon actor Oreo, who is the basis of Rocket, as well as a near-tear filled explanation of how real the last interaction of Quill and Yondu moved her. Did you know?  Brother of director James Gunn, actor Sean Gunn plays double duty in this movie as Yondu's right-hand-man Kraglin and also as the motion capture actor for Rocket. The first video game feature of Parallel Fiction is presented by Jeff, when he profiles Joel Miller from the 2013 blockbuster game The Last of Us.  Actor is Troy Baker brings Joel to life, both with voice acting and actual motion capture, to tell the story of a hardened man in a post apocalyptic world.  After losing his own daughter 20 years prior to this story, Joel is tasked with looking after a young girl named Ellie who closely resembles his lost life.  Jeff explains how Joel's obsession with filling his emotional void as well as never coping with his loss leads him to extreme measures later in this story. Prolific Actor Alert: Troy Baker is the only man in history to play both Batman AND The Joker.  Both were voice acting work, but that's still pretty impressive. Tune in to hear Jeff and Heather's candid thoughts on the masterpiece scenes of each story, how The Last of Us and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 compare, and how Jeff and Heather relate to aspects of each. Share this episode with anyone who you think would enjoy it and let us know your thoughts on who else makes a good unlikely parent in fiction! Heather's Rating of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: Very Nice – This sequel explains a lot more of Peter Quill's backstory and has a few tear-jerking momentsJeff's Rating of The Last Of Us:  Super Nice – A can't miss for anybody who enjoys video games.  The definition of masterpiece  Watch Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Disney+: www.disneyplus.comBuy The Last Of Us, exclusive to Playstation 3 & 4 here: https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/playstation-4/games/products/the-last-of-us-remastered/10114511.html?condition=Pre-Owned  About Parallel Fiction:Parallel Fiction is the perfect supplemental companion to all of the stories you consume. 0:20 BryanWanting to make sure I understand the Spider-Man rights correctly. Obviously, Disney could try and purchase the Spider-Man rights directly from Sony for however many billions that is. But sony could one day be bought by someone like Apple. So then the rights revert back to marvel studios for free, correct? That would explain why A) Sony hasn't been purchased yet because Sony's value is probably half or more of what it is without Spider-Man's or B) why marvel studios hasn't actively (that we know of) tried to acquire the rights to spider-man. Do I have this all correct?19:52 DangerNoodleHey Sean hope all is well. When Tony snapped in endgame and dusting Thanos and his army do you think Gamora was dusted as well? Thanks. I love the podcast.24:30 StevenMy question is about a sequence of events at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2: We see Quill give Kraglin the repaired arrow that Yondu used, and we also see Yondu “cremated” along with his fin. In a post-credit scene, we see Kraglin practicing with a fin and an arrow. If this is Yondu's fin, does he do this before the ceremony? Or, does he find a new fin?Follow up: do you think Kraglin had to undergo a surgery to have the fin implanted?26:18 ChavezM77Hey Sean! Hope all is well with you. I have been doing a MCU rewatch since I now have a sweet surround sound set up and most of the films on 4K discs. Do you think Tony would be worthy now of picking up Mjolner since he sacrificed himself? After reading tweets from endgame watch party with the Russos/M&McF, it had me thinking that if Cap wasn't necessarily worthy of lifting Mjolner until after him and Tony reconciled, then would Tony now be worthy after exorcising all of his demons leading up to his sacrifice? I'm talking specifically MCU. Would love to hear your thoughts and I'm sorry if this was already asked. Thanks!32:10 BryanI struggle with the “Superman complex” of Captain Marvel being basically invincible with no perceived weakness. Can you help me get over it? On the Geektown Radio podcast this week we have a special edition show featuring three interviews from last weekend's MCM Comic Con Birmingham! The first interview is with 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' & 'Gilmore Girls' star Sean Gunn. In the chat he talks about playing Kraglin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with playing the "on-set" stand in for Rocket Racoon! He also discusses what it's like to work with your older brother as director, and the awesome mix soundtracks from the film. Plus he talks a little bit about returning to the character of Kirk in the 'Gilmore Girls' revival.Next we chat to Sean's 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' co-star, Michael Rooker. The actor, of course, played the blue coloured, fin-headed Yondu in the first two GotG movies, so discusses what it's like to get into that make up, and the infamous "Mary Poppins" line. He also chats a little about his early work in 'Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer' and his other massive role as Merle Dixon in ‘The Walking Dead’. The last interview is with one of my favourite actors, Mark Sheppard. Mark is probably best known as Crowley in ‘Supernatural’ but has appeared such a ridiculous amount of shows over the years. He played Badger in our beloved 'Firefly', Romo Lampkin in ‘Battlestar Galactica’, and Canton in ‘Doctor Who’. He's also starred in ‘Warehouse 13’, ‘NCIS’, ‘CSI’, ’24’, ‘Leverage’, ‘White Collar’, ‘Chuck’, ‘Burn Notice’, ‘Bionic Woman’, ‘Charmed’, ‘Star Trek: Voyager’, plus many many more! It's was a really fasinating chat with a guy who has worked across the industry. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Movie Meltdown - Episode 407 This week we are coming to you "live" from Fandomfest as we sit down with our special guest... Sean Gunn! These days he's playing Kraglin, as well as the on-set Rocket Raccoon, in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, but we also discuss growing up in his family full of (what turned out to be) writers and performers. We delve into his early film roles working in the Troma Entertainment world and address possibly his most recognizable role as Kirk from Gilmore Girls. And we pin down the specifics involved in his role as Rocket. And as we decide whether or not we want to go up in the St. Louis arch, we also bring up... Tromeo and Juliet, Guns 'n' Roses, dangerous ambition, the wax museum, the arborators of what was cool, California Split, Baby Driver, PG Porn, under an overpass, Taxi driver, I don't know why the wet bandits weren't at the crucifixion, The Clash, being afraid has no value to you, The Godfather, doing it on a different scale, sex, drugs and punctuality, a mad scientist of sorts, fifty some odd pennies, Jaws, the youngest of six, the greatest scene in the history of American cinema, Stars Hollow, Elvis Costello, Vertigo, motion reference vs. motion capture, entry to the otter house, The Long Goodbye, Preston Sturges, to share something of myself with the world, the chamber of commerce, Lloyd Kaufman‎, cooler then I gave 'em credit for, knock-off concert T-shirts, Rear Window, and to be a better person in general, the yellow raincoat phase, I always wanted to be an actor, I would see my older brothers do it... and I wanted it so badly, I went underneath the Earth to get there, identifying yourself emphatically, Edgar Wright, the world being sort of finite, translates very nicely to other kinds of fandom, I had to take off my belt, I was like the little mascot, Robert Altman, whatever it is that you want to do in your life... try to do it, we're the biggest seater the actual sound of my nose breaking. "My desire to be on a stage... and performing in front of people, predates my knowledge of what it meant to, like have a job or a profession. So I wanted to act, before I knew I even wanted that to be my job." Follow Sean on Twitter at: https://twitter.com/seangunn For more on Fandomfest, go to: http://fandomfest.com/

Best know for his roles as "Kirk" on the hit television and upcoming Netflix show "Gilmore Girls" and "Kraglin" from the hit film "Guardians of the Galaxy", Mr. Gunn is no stranger to doing epic stuff! We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed recording it!

We return to the cinema with The Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3, the thirty second movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The final movie in the trilogy and James Gunn's final movie for Marvel before he moves to the Distinguished Competition. We chat all about the movie in our latest podcast.Synopsis for our Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3 Movie Review with the help of WikipediaWritten and Directed by: James GunnAt their new headquarters on Knowhere, the Guardians of the Galaxy are attacked by Adam Warlock, a Sovereign warrior created by their high priestess Ayesha. After Adam overpowers them and seriously wounds Rocket, he is stabbed by Nebula and forced to flee. The Guardians are unable to tend to Rocket's wounds due to a kill switch, made by the company Orgocorp, embedded in him. To save their friend the Guardians travel to Orgocorp's headquarters to find the override code.As Rocket lies unconscious, he recalls his past. As a baby raccoon, he was experimented on by the High Evolutionary, a scientist who sought to enhance animal lifeforms into anthropomorphic species to create a "Perfect" Counter-Earth. Rocket befriended the other test subjects: an otter called Lylla, the walrus Teefs, and the rabbit named Floor. Of all the test subjects the High Evolutionary was impressed by Rocket's intelligence but furious when it exceeded his own. Perfecting the anthropomorphization process with Rocket's advice he orders Rocket's brain to be extracted and his friends incinerated. Rocket, realising he and his friends were not part of the High Evolutionary's perfect world, frees himself and his friends, but Lylla, Reefs and Floor but are killed in the escape by the High Evolutionary.Rocket, enraged, mauls the High Evolutionary and shoots his guards, as he makes his solitary escape in a spaceship. In the present, the alternate version of Gamora, who has joined the Ravagers, helps the Guardians infiltrate Orgocorp, which is owned by the High Evolutionary. They retrieve Rocket's file, but discover that the code has been removed. The group speculates that Theel, one of the High Evolutionary's recorders, has it, so they depart for Counter-Earth. They are followed by Ayesha and Adam, who are ordered by their creator, the High Evolutionary, to retrieve Rocket for his brain.Upon arriving on Counter Earth, the team is helped by residents in tracing Theel to the High Evolutionary's ship. Drax and Mantis remain with Gamora and Rocket as Peter Quill, Groot, and Nebula travel to the ship. Nebula is forced to wait outside by guards as Quill and Groot board. Drax and Mantis chase after Quill's group. The High Evolutionary initiates his destruction and planned recreation of Counter-Earth, which kills all life on the planet, including Ayesha. As his ship enters orbit, Quill and Groot leap off with Theel, retrieving the code from him. Gamora arrives with their ship to rescue them, while Nebula, Mantis, and Drax board the High Evolutionary's ship to rescue the now-absent Quill and Groot. As Quill's group attempts to access the code, Rocket flatlines and has a near death experience, where he sees Lylla, Teefs, and Floor. Lylla tells him that his time has not yet come as Quill uses the code to disable the kill switch and save Rocket's life.Nebula, Mantis, and Drax come across hundreds of imprisoned humanoid children on the High Evolutionary's ship before being captured. Quill's group sets out to rescue the three, who are placed in a chamber with monstrous Abilisks. Mantis befriends the Abilisks, allowing the group to escape and reunite with Quill's group, together overpowering the High Evolutionary's army. Kraglin and Cosmo arrive on Knowhere, and Cosmo creates a telekinetic tunnel connecting Knowhere to the High Evolutionary's ship to free the captured children. Rocket discovers imprisoned animals on the ship before being attacked by the High Evolutionary, but the rest of the Guardians help subdue him, leaving him to perish on his ship. The Guardians rescue the animals and lead them aboard Knowhere. Quill nearly dies trying to cross over but is saved by Adam, who had a change of heart after being saved by Groot. In the aftermath, Quill leaves the Guardians, bestowing the captaincy to Rocket before leaving for Earth to reunite with his grandfather Jason. Mantis embarks on a journey of self-discovery with the Abilisks, Gamora reunites with the Ravagers, and Nebula and Drax remain on Knowhere to raise the rescued children. In a mid-credits scene, the new Guardians, consisting of Rocket, a fully-grown Groot, Cosmo, Kraglin, Adam, Phyla-Vell (one of the rescued children), and Adam's pet Blurp, take on a new mission. In a post-credits scene, Quill eats breakfast with his grandfather Jason.Cast of Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 3Dave Bautista - Drax The Destroyer Pom Klementieff - Mantis Sean Gunn - Kraglin Bradley Cooper - Rocket Raccoon Karen Gillan - Nebula Chris Pratt - Peter Quill/Star-Lord Maria Bakalova (Voice) - Cosmo Chukwudi Iwuji - The High Evolutionary Will Poulter - Adam Warlock Vin Diesel - Groot Karen Gillan - Nebula Nathan Fillion - Master Karja Nico Santos - Recorder Theel Michael Rooker - Yondu Subscribe to TV Podcast IndustriesIf you want to keep up with us and all of our podcasts please subscribe to the podcast over at https://tvpodcastindustries.com where we will continue to podcast about multiple TV shows we hope you'll love.Next Time on TV Podcast IndustriesOn our main feed we're finishing our Star Trek Picard season 3 podcast as we announce the winner of our Ten Forward Pub Quiz on our latest podcast.
