Before I interviewed John, or his co-author Jason Norman, I emailed them to let them know that the purpose of my interview was not to re-try the incident of March 30, 1981, nor was this a podcast with a political agenda. (If you read the book, politics didn't play a part in the assassination attempt on President Reagan, anyway) All I asked for was a conversation about the book,and nothing more. Both of them were kind enough to grant me that. Obviously, those of you who have listened long enough know that I'm no lawyer, psychologist, or political pundit. But this is what I do. I've always said the stories I bring to this podcast will likely appeal to different emotions. This is one of those episodes that will likely provoke different reactions from different people. I'm proud to say that I've always made the decisions about what goes into my podcast, and one thing I keep out is hate. I didn't hear any hate in John's voice, nor in his words, and if there was, this episode wouldn't exist. I guarantee you that.
