Ogród powoli przechodzi w stan śnienia. Wygasza dźwięki, niweluje szum dnia, kwiaty zwijają płatki i chowają delikatne główki. Pachnie mocniej i wydaje mi się nawet, że tego lata jest bardziej duszno w porze zmierzchu. Siedzimy na ławce i wsłuchujemy się w bzyczące komary, które atakują jak szalone. Pora kolacji. Pora owadziego głodu. A ponieważ moja Mama jest fachowcem od naszej przyrody do pytam jakie owady są w ogóle…. ciekawe? Mama opowiada w dźwięku. Martwe drzewa to baza nowego życia, ale nasza żywa pamięć nagle trafia na zaskakujący, owadzi trop: oto przypominamy sobie pewną bajką chętnie czytaną w czasach zamierzchłego PRL-u pełnego cudownie ilustrowanych rosyjskich książek… Owadzie żarłoki… można sobie powyobrażać. tymczasem, wspomniana historia powstała na bazie bajki Ezopa, tak swoją drogą, taki evergreen na wsze czasy, z morałem, wiadomo. Wersja klasyczna: Mrówka pracowała w pocie czoła całe upalne lato. Zbudowała solidny dom i zebrała zapasy na srogą zimę. „Głupia mrówka” - myślał konik polny, który okres kanikuły spędził na tańcach i hulankach. Kiedy nadeszły chłody i deszcze, mrówka schowała się w domu i skosztowała zapasów. Konik polny umarł z głodu i zimna. brrr. Okrutne i niekoniecznie prawdziwe. I nie ma co już dzielić świata na ludzi - mrówki i na ludzi - koniki polne. Wiele zależy od zimy. Poza tym, gdyby mrówka miała wrażliwość muzyczną i była bardziej towarzyska, to by zatrudniła konika polnego i bawiła się cudownie, tańczyła całą zimę. I wszyscy byliby zadowoleni. Naprawdę. Wyjść z tego impasu jest wiele. Chciałam też przy okazji zarekomendować bardzo krótki a niezwykły rosyjski filmik z 1912 roku!!! naprawdę bez problemu znajdziemy w sieci Konik polny i mrówka (ros. Стрекоза и муравей[1], Striekoza i murawiej) – rosyjski film animowany z 1912 roku w reżyserii Władysława Starewicza. Adaptacja bajki Iwana Kryłowa. W tym filmie wykorzystano po raz pierwszy duże lalki, co umożliwiało pełniejsze oddanie mimiki postaci[2]. —---- fabuła wiadomo - okrutna. mrówka zjada co zebrała, a konika nie karmi sztuka. Mam niezgodę na taki podział żywieniowy :) A Ty? Czy już widzisz jakieś wyjście z takiej sytuacji? PS. This week we're back in the UK talking to countryside ranger and wildlife presenter, Ajay Tegala. Ajay has a degree in Environmental Conservation and nine years' experience working in nature conservation. He was a ranger on Britain's first coastal reserve, Blakeney Point for many years and currently works at Wicken Fen, Britain's oldest and very first nature reserve (1899); alongside 100 Konik ponies and 50 Highland cattle! Growing up in East Anglia, Ajay became interested in wetland birds. Through his career in nature conservation, he went on to work with seabirds, in particular terns; monitoring their breeding behaviour and contributing to national monitoring programmes. He has managed and studied England's largest Grey Seal rookery, off the Norfolk coast. Ajay champions and monitors the success of habitat creation for nature, which partners well with his great love for the fenland landscape, and is passionate about its restoration. Ajay has promoted beach cleans in East Anglia, gardening for wildlife and clothing for Cotswold Outdoor, appearing in shop windows across the UK. Ajay has chalked-up over 15 appearances across the five main channels, including the popular BBC nature documentaries ‘Countryfile', ‘Coast' and ‘Winterwatch' plus a live appearance on ‘Springwatch: Unsprung' and many, many more! He is currently undertaking a talent development placement with the BBC Natural History Unit working on Springwatch 2021. Dave is pleasantly surprised by a letter from Old Buck Wayne, a former colleague with whom he shared many similar work experiences in Russia and Bolivia. This reminds Dave of his trip to a tungsten mine on the side of 21,000 ft. Mt. Illimani in Bolivia. Upon further reflection , they share some father and son episodes from the distant past. Dave tells his story of visiting Russia in 1992 on tungsten business. After an endless string of visits with bureaucrats during the day and vodka dinners with them every night in Moscow, he flies to the tungsten plant in Nalchik, a far different world in the Caucasus mountain. He is shadowed by a man who may or may not be a KGB agent. Why does he like this guy?Del expounds on the miracle of DAP-the goo, not the handshake. Dave somehow manages to stay awake. Del then tops himself by worrying about how they get the perfect black grill stripes on burgers on TV ads. Finally, and thankfully, he challenges listeners to tell us what keeps them up at night. In a Letter from Afar, Bernd from Germany feels the Konik ponies in central Florida cannot be "normal," i.e. real. The Bucks reflect on 2020 TOB highlights and review the segments nominated in the various award categories. The first category is Most Controversial Topic and the segment that dominated all others in the nominations was Loser Lotto. After a massive dropoff in listenership, Del mercifully euthanized it, sparing us further confusion in 2021. The two nominees for Most Surprising Subculture are the Konik ponies [see polishponyfl.com] of central Florida and the Tidycat jug repurposement. The Bucks continue to be astounded by the enthusiasm and resourcefulness of the "Juggers." In the category, Most Obvious Gender Bias, the overwhelming favorite was the failure by the Bucks during the Bright Side of Covid segment to note that women would save time and money on makeup as all you needed to do was paint your eyes. We received countless letters from female listeners on this one, with the most heartfelt letters coming from Judith and Pat. The Grossest Story category nominees are both Del's, understandably. Del Eating Ants was gross, for sure, but the Lanternfly story triggered a multitude of post-apocolyptic nightmares. One listener from Lunenburg is reportedly still hiding under the bed.The Dumbest Young Buck Stunt has two strong nominees, this time involving Dave's on-the-road adventures. It will be a close vote between Hitchhiking with Criminals and Blowing Up the Plymouth. Dave tried to steer today's young bucks away from both of these exploits.Del garnered another uncontested nomination for The Strangest Book Review. You had to pay attention or you missed his artful story within a story.In the Most Empathetic Listener category, the runaway favorite seems to be Claire from Chicago. Abstract: Hallucinations in Parkinson's disease (PD) are one of the most disturbing non-motor symptoms, affect half of the patients, and constitute a major risk factor for adverse clinical outcomes such as psychosis and dementia. Here we report a robotics-based approach, enabling the induction of a specific clinically-relevant hallucination (presence hallucination, PH) under controlled experimental conditions and the characterization of a PD subgroup with enhanced sensorimotor sensitivity for such robot-induced PH. Using MR-compatible robotics in healthy participants and lesion network mapping analysis in neurological non-PD patients, we identify a fronto-temporal network that was associated with PH. This common PH-network was selectively disrupted in a new and independent sample of PD patients and predicted the presence of symptomatic PH. These robotics-neuroimaging findings determine the behavioral and neural mechanisms of PH and reveal pathological cortical sensorimotor processes of PH in PD, identifying a more severe form of PD associated with psychosis and cognitive decline. Dan Konik was born and raised in Vermilion, Ohio. Lake Erie was his front yard. Dan went to Lorain County Community College, then transferred to Ohio University, graduating with a BS in Communications in 1991. Worked as a newspaper reporter for the Lorain Morning Journal while still in college. He got his first real TV job at WCJB in Gainesville, FL, which was invaluable training—moved from that market (165) to WPTV in West Palm Beach (45) after fifteen months, which was exhilarating and a bit terrifying. He stayed there for seven months, then got his job at WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, until 2016, when he moved to WVIZ, Cleveland’s PBS station. He works in the Statehouse News Bureau for that station. He also has his startup business DKVideo, LLC, in 2004, known now as Konik Media. Dan has covered the Pope’s visit to the US, the Olympic Park Bombing in 1996, two GOP conventions, and countless other stories. It is undeniable that human influence is now felt in almost every ecosystem, region and ocean of the world. As a result wilderness or wild nature is becoming less abundant. In response to this less wild world, landscape and ecosystem restorations are undertaken all over the globe. One of these places is the wetland area of Wicken Fen in Cambridgeshire, England, where the National Trust is attempting a landscape scale restoration. This programme is not just about restoring but also rewilding the landscape. A big part of the Wicken Fen restoration involves the introduction of large grazers: Konik ponies and Highland cattle. In April a workshop was held at Wicken Fen entitled: Desire for the Wild, Wild Desires? Re-wilding in a world of social, environmental and climate change. This workshop considered what wild and rewilding of nature means and what history can contribute to efforts to rewild and restore landscapes and ecosystems. The guest on this podcast is is Dolly Jorgensen, a historian of Science and the Environment based at Umea University in Sweden. Dolly presented a paper at the workshop on how rewilding has been an argument meaning different things to different academic sub-groups, all with a different historical notion of when was wild. Dolly deconstructs the different meanings of rewilding, and also follows the trail to find wildness all around us.
