TAMMY AND MARC GOLDBERG are underground math education innovators who have figured out how to get math right! Their work can be experienced at Mathnasium Learning Centers worldwide. It is their mission to empower children to excel in math and grow into confident young adults who are able to think logically and solve complex problems. Tammy's origins in the math classroom and the private tutoring space merged with Marc's accounting and business background in 2008 when they opened their first of several Mathnasium Learning Centers in NYC. But, perhaps, the more interesting part of the story was the emerging creative collaboration with Mathnasium co-founder, Larry Martinek, that gave them the perfect think tank and platform to write a revolutionary math curriculum that has empowered millions of students to develop true understanding and self confidence in their math abilities. In addition to writing the majority of Mathnasium's curriculum, Tammy and Marc are the operators of 5 Mathnasium Learning Center locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, and one in their current hometown of Doylestown, PA. As parents of school-aged children themselves, Tammy and Marc have seen the negative academic effects of the Covid pandemic firsthand. Having the experience of working with thousands of students in their centers and developing a curriculum that has parents raving around the country, they feel a personal responsibility to share their collective wisdom and bring awareness to parents as to what kids actually need to be successful in math compared to what most people think they need. Outside of their work in math education… Marc is a dynamic rock singer and multi-instrumentalist, a professional problem-solver, and a youth baseball coach. Tammy is an astrologer, a wellness enthusiast, and an aspiring singer/songwriter. They have two kind-hearted, creative, math-loving kids, a Miniature Schnauzer, and a Russian Blue cat at their home in Pennsylvania. During the long homebound months of 2020 in America and around the world, many of us have spent more time with our dogs and pet adoptions have risen. At New Skete, the upstate New York Eastern Orthodox Christian monastery, the monks believe “love for creation deepens through the relationships we form with our pets.” Soon after the monastery was founded in 1966, the monks were given a German Shepherd, Kir. A unique ministry ensued. “In an entirely natural way [these German Shepherds] have taught us many important lessons about life and about ourselves,” the monks say. In addition to breeding these dogs, the monks of New Skete are renowned for their methods of training and socialization to enhance and deepen our relationship with these family members. On the eve of Election Day, don’t miss participating in Jim Falk’s conversation with Brother Christopher Savage and Marc Goldberg, co-authors of “The Art of Training Your Dog.” At the World Affairs Council we have a diverse staff, but the one thing that brings us together on any election day is that we all love dogs. . . Do you believe in the importance of international education and connections? The nonprofit World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth is supported by gifts from people like you, who share our passion for engaging in dialogue on global affairs and building bridges of understanding. While the Council is not currently charging admission for virtual events, we ask you to please consider making a one-time or recurring gift to help us keep the conversation going through informative public programs and targeted events for students and teachers. Fine Music Radio — A groundbreaking new ballet featuring Cape Town Ballet and using digital 3-D projections opens at Artscape Opera this week. MOZART AND SALIERI is based on the alleged rivalry between Mozart and the Italian composer Salieri, a story first published by Pushkin and then made famous in Peter Schaffer’s adaptation for film, Amadeus. Now, the dancer and choreographer MARC GOLDBERG has set this story as a ballet which he himself has designed and choreographed. Apparently it has taken him some 7 years to bring the project to fruition and in People of Note this week, Rodney Trudgeon will be talking to MARC GOLDBERG about this innovative and exciting new production.

On this podcast Marc Goldberg was kind enough be our guest and answer several fraud related questions on the industry. He is the CEO of a company called Trust Metrics, which builds whitelists for advertiser and help them buy safer programmatic inventory. Marc raised a very interesting theory, that there is not nearly as much programmatic inventory online as everyone assumes. He is main point is that when you remove the walled gardens, such as Facebook, Youtube, Instagram, then take away porn, then take away fraudulent sites and copyright infringers, what you have left isn't the inventory levels that everyone assumes. This certainly holds true for video and extends across many classes of advertising, such as Mobile Web and In-App display. It was really interesting to hear Marc's throughs on these formats and how he thinks each inventory class functions differently. Marc talks us through some of the methods his company uses to analyze a publisher site and determine if he things that traffic there is real. One of the great tips that he included was making sure that the domains you've set a campaign to run on actually matches the list of domains that your ads served on. Domain spoofing is becoming a larger problem and methods such as this allow you to better understand the inventory that you're buying.
