In 1978, Nand Kishore Chaudhary (NKC) got a job offer from a Government bank and the chance to move from Churu to Jaipur -- something most people could only dream of back in the day. But, he declined that offer. He saw an opportunity in the carpets business which was a 100% export market and was growing steadily. He also saw this as an opportunity to impact lives and connect with people. So, he took a leap of faith. He took a loan of INR 5000 from his father. Bought a bicycle. Two looms. And started working with 9 artisans in Churu. And that's how Jaipur Rugs was born.Fast forward to today, he has created a sprawling empire with their carpets being exported to 60 different countries. They have trained >40,000 artisans and run various social initiatives via Jaipur Rugs Foundation.NKC & Jaipur Rugs are a shining example of how a business can create lasting impact in the lives of people.I learnt a lot while speaking to NKC and we spoke about a range of topics like:(02:03): How NKC started his entrepreneurial journey with INR 5,000(08:14): Inception of JaipurRugs — navigating early challenges of doing biz in the 1980s(14:49): What goes into making an exquisite handcrafted rug? Wool > Yarn > Carpet(20:31): How long does it take to make one carpet?(22:02): Challenges in the rug making biz - machine made carpets + reduction of artisans(25:28): BIG OPPORTUNITY — Evolution of luxury rugs market in India(28:17): Jaipur Rugs Foundation — changing lives of artisans(32:12): BUILDING LEGACY — Integrating children into the family biz(36:33): New initiatives @ JaipurRugs - converting artisans to artists(39:41): RAPID FIRE QsYou can check out their website @ JaipurRugs

The Chiefs looked focused and playoff ready Saturday beating the Texans 27-19 and it looks like everyone on the team has a role.  KC has now won 19 of 20 since that Christmas Day loss a year ago and this time they can wrap up the #1 seed in the AFC with a win.    Mizzou and Illinois played a thriller in the Braggin' Rights game in St. Louis.  KU dismantles Brown and K-State is circling the drain after a loss to Wichita State.    In the father/son golf tourney this weekend, Tiger Woods played with his son Charlie.  On live national tv... the younger Woods got his first hole in one.  What a moment.    Trump takes the stage at AmFest in Phoenix and throws down on the woke.  A story about Joe Biden taking a nap on Air Force One as grieving widows waited for him is understandably upsetting.  And a man in NKC wins millions by scratching on Missouri Lottery ticket.

Today you are getting the much-anticipated, long promised (& finally here)- friends roundtable episode! And it was so. worth. the. wait! After loss it feels like (publicly) there is so much that is centered around the immediate family and friends often seem 'forgotten' or definitely might feel unseen in their grief. It's really important to me to give them a voice because their loss was NOT small or inconsequential, at all! It was so very relevant and important in their lives!Today I talk with three amazing humans who all lost a dear friend to suicide. A fourth friend who couldn't join, is represented by submitting answers to the talking points and I read these answers to Intermingle his answers in between the other's answers. We here from Christian Murillo & Branislav Tadic from North Kansas City, Missouri here in the States and also from Oakley Mengel from Elkford, British Columbia, Canada.  Brock Lorenzen (also from NKC) submitted his answers (and I read them for him in his absence).Christian, Brock and Branislav lost their friend (my son) Alex and Oakley lost her dear, best friend Donavon. This conversation is a joy and heartbreaking all at once, but it is so very, very powerful and I am SO THANKFUL that we had this time! Some of the things we speak to are: How the loss of their friends affected their life - at the time of loss & nowDo you ever receive signs from spirit? Were you treated 'differently' as "just" a friend? And they offer GREAT encouragement for surviving and thriving after this loss while you still carry them forward with you in lifeAnd so much more ...Such an IMPACTFUL & AMAZING conversation - like me, I think that you will take a WHOLE lot from this!    I waited 6 years for www.turnpiketroubadours.com to release a new album this morning and was so excited to hear it.  Then I read www.tonyskansascity.com and it took the prize for best package under the tree.  Yes, real journalism is back!  Tony reports that the Clay County poll against the Royals relocating to NKC is completely and utterly fake and he found out who paid for it. This is great, great work and shines light on disgusting, behind the scenes dirty dealing.    Trump's mugshot may become the most famous photo of this century in American history but how he decided to deal with it was classic Trump.  In doing it his way, nobody is talking about the charges he faces, he's got everyone talking about silly stuff, which proves the whole thing is silly.    T-Mobile is cutting 5000 jobs and that's bad for KC.  Remember how great Sprint and Cerner were for KC before Bidenomics?    The Chiefs believe they have 8 NFL wide receivers in camp but will only keep 6 or 7.  I make a case for keeping 7.    Shannon Sharpe has a new tv gig starting next week, Joe Biden wants to take away you ceiling fan and keep you to two alcoholic drinks per week and what do you know... paper straws are worse for the environment than plastic.

Disclaimer: This is a very heart to heart podcast ! Its also mostly in Hindi, and as Nand Kishore Chaudhary says, when hearts connect, language is not a barrier. 'The rugs to riches story', Nand Kishore chaudhary, often referred to as the ‘Gandhi of the Carpet Industry', is a person with an enigmatic heart, full of empathy, love and spreading joy. He also happens to be the founder of Jaipur Rugs, as he very beautifully says: We are in the business of creating experiences, bonding families, beautifying homes and our carpets are free. NKC sir started his business with a vision to find his inner self, which absolutely resonates with my vision too! Covering a journey of four decades, countless stories, and an indomitable spirit; full of love, compassion, and perseverance, NKC sir strongly believes that the future and the success of all businesses is emotional intelligence, how we connect with people, how we create a world of love, kindness, empathy, integrity, simplicity, humility and shared wisdom. It is hard to compress this beautiful conversation as every sentence has a deeper, lifelong meaning to it, here are few glimpses of the same: If you love yourself, if you love what you do, and your people, it will start overflowing that it will touch others , that's emotional intelligence Till the time you don't dirty your hands and get deep in whatever you are doing, real success won't come Self love brings in self worth Real business happens when we are able to impact society With just two looms and nine artisans in 1978, Jaipur Rugs today is truly a global social enterprise, exporting to over 60 countries while providing sustainable livelihood to 40,000 artisans, in 600 remote villages across five states in India, out of which 80% of them are women. This beautiful podcast is much deeper than it sounds. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/iiact/message

It is a challenge to get along with others; in fact, it can even be painful for some, so much so that they avoid any type of lasting relationships!  In a recent conversation with a Childcare father, I told him that my favorite part of every day at church was meeting parents and their kids, and talking to them and getting to know them.  He said, off-handed, “yes, and you don’t have to talk to them very long, ‘cause they’re all in a hurry to get to work.”  We laughed, of course, as men do when someone says something we’ve all felt at some point.  What he told me in that comment, though, was that he either didn’t really want to talk to people, or, more than likely, was a little uncomfortable talking to people he didn’t know well.  This isn’t really a judgment against my friend; rather, it is an acknowledgment that relationships are hard!  You don’t know what you can or can’t say, you’re not sure where people stand or what might offend them, or maybe it just takes too much work and energy to be interested and open to someone.            Even though relationships are hard, though, we often have to remind ourselves – relationships are one of the greatest sources of blessings from God! Indeed, relationships can be such a tremendous source of blessing that: God calls us to value our relationships above all else in our lives. There are things we all know to be true; i.e., “relationships are important;” but sometimes we get a reminder from life.  A little over 9 years ago my father had a massive heart attack in the hallway at NKC hospital; they were able to resuscitate him, and he was on a ventilator for a full week.  Finally the next weekend we made the decision to take him off the machine, after which he died in just a few minutes, surrounded by his wife and kids.  Something I noticed upon reflection on this horrific week – I don’t remember anything that happened, other than the relationships I shared with my family that week.  I don’t remember meals, visitors, or hardly any ‘hospital’ talk – just relationships.  It’s almost as if nothing else mattered – and maybe that was one of the greatest lessons of that experience! I think Paul was trying to help the Roman Christians realize just how important one’s relationships are!  Romans 13:8-10 Paul uses the understanding that one needs to pay their debts – and says the only thing really worth debt is to love others!  He then reminds them of the 10 Commandments, because even though people usually just see them as rules to follow, they are really ways of maintaining relationships between God, and others.  He finishes this section with a statement of faith:  “Love therefore is the fulfillment of the law.” (13:10)  Our relationships with others are not only given to us by God as a source of joy; these relationships are also the primary means by which we experience and express our faith in Jesus! Understanding the value of relationships, it should come as no surprise that: God calls us to nurture the relationships in our lives. If you truly value a relationship, then you have to act in a way that nurtures and strengthens that relationship – it just makes sense!  People don’t always understand this:  Years ago I counseled a young couple having problems because the husband had entered into a relationship with another woman.  After meeting with them, and hearing both of them say they wanted to save the marriage and stay together (there was a young child); we set about establishing some basic ‘rules’ of the relationship.  The first ‘rule’ was that the husband agree to break off his relationship with the other woman, and not see her anymore.  He hesitated – and then finally refused, because he cared about her, and said “I don’t want to hurt her feelings.”           He said he valued the relationship with his wife, but he wouldn’t act in a way that would allow it to heal and grow; the wife correctly understood that he didn’t really value her at all!  When you value a relationship, you will act to strengthen it! Paul taught this very thing to those in the church at Ephesus: Ephesians 4:31-32 When Christians valued their relationship with others, there were ways they would live and act to nurture those relationships.  Here are a few ideas he gave them: God’s Path for Relationships Put away the poison (v.31) “Bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, slander, malicious behavior.”  These practices are poison to any relationship, and do not have to happen.  Here Paul is teaching that we who follow Christ are to make it a conscious effort to change our behavior, and resist the heat of emotion when we speak.  We are to represent Christ in all situations, even in our anger and frustrations!Choose nice (v.32)  “Instead, be kind to each other. . . .”  Our behaviors are a choice!  No-one makes you act a certain way, people can only “push your button” when you let them.  This is not to say we must avoid all conflict, or allow people to manipulate or abuse us.  Rather, it is a way to demonstrate, even in challenging encounters, that we follow Jesus and represent God’s grace.Remember the reason (v.32)  “. . . Just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”  Here is the reason we are to be different, and the way in which our changed behavior is possible – God in Christ has forgiven us!  Because we have experienced God’s forgiveness through Jesus, we are to offer grace and forgiveness to others. Our response to God’s grace, rather than the actions of others, is to guide our behaviors,.  “Now is the time to get rid of anger, rage, malicious behavior, slander, and dirty language. . . . Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. . .  Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.  And the most important piece of clothing you must wear is love.”   Colossians 3:8-14 The best way you can support our Ministry is by sharing these podcasts with your friends and family. We also need your financial contributions to make our Ministries a possibility.

Konkrētu seansu plānu publiskos sestdien, 2.maijā, bet Kristīne Matīsa jau nedaudz atklāj gan filmas, gan to, cikos tās varēs noskatīties. Kopumā būs desmit seansi no plkst. 11 rītā ar bērnu seansu līdz par plkst. 1 naktī, kad varēs noskatīties Signes Baumanes erotiskās īsfilmas. Maratonā pirmizrādi piedzīvos Daces Rīdūzes animācijas filmiņa "Ziņa bērni", kā arī  Aijas Bley filma “Mēs gribējām izmainīt pasauli". Šīs filmas pirmizrāde būs plkst. 19.

The Power of a Healing Organization with Raj Sisodia

This week’s distinguished guest is Raj Sisodia, Conscious Capitalism thought leader, international speaker, and bestselling author. Raj is the F.W. Olin Distinguished Professor of Global Business and Whole Foods Market Research Scholar in Conscious Capitalism at Babson College. He has co-authored a new book with organizational innovation expert Michael J Gelb, entitled The Healing Organization: Awakening The Conscience Of Business To Help Save The World. Raj chats with Marcel Schwantes about how for-profit businesses can become agents of healing for their employees, customers and communities. The word healing comes from two root words: wholeness and holy. Healing, therefore, is about reducing suffering, elevating joy and promoting healthy growth. [4:27] Work, as it’s traditionally viewed, has a high human cost. Raj is on a mission to show that we don’t have to kill people to make money. In fact, when our employees are happy and thriving, our businesses will prosper. [ 6:15] An example of a healing organization in Raj’s book is Greyston Bakery. Its founder Bernie Glassman started the bakery to “give people a first chance.” Their model is that they don’t hire people to bake brownies, they bake brownies to hire people. This open hiring policy has transformed the lives of countless people. [10:29] Raj says that we were put on this planet to care for one another. It’s what gives us the deepest satisfaction and happiness; it helps us heal. Business gives us the opportunity to care for each other at scale. [15:02] “Unexpressed love is the greatest untapped resource on this planet,” says Raj. [17:50] We should allow people to express love and be vulnerable about their challenges, Raj advises. Leaders modeling this make their employees comfortable to do the same. Suffering would then be replaced with joy and healing. [18:38] Strength, courage, focus, resilience, and discipline are desirable masculine qualities but they should be counterbalanced by feminine traits. “Out of balance masculine traits have caused a lot of devastation in the world,” Raj comments. We should be both tough-minded and tender-hearted, as Martin Luther King Jr said. [24:53] Raj says that the ultimate message of his book is to invite leaders to heal themselves. [26:00] It’s deeply ingrained in our culture to consider anything feminine as being weak. However, there is a strong correlation between so-called ‘feminine qualities’ and the traits of great leaders. When we elevate the feminine we will see many of our challenges go away. [28:05] Marcel asks if any for-profit company can become a healing organization. Raj says that they can by selling to their customers in a way that serves their wellbeing. Internally, a healing organization’s purpose should be to improve the lives of their own people, their families, and the community. [31:21] Raj talks about how his mentor Bob Chapman transformed over 100 businesses through his mission to touch the lives of as many people as possible. He says that when Bob Chapman shows up to invest in your business, you know there’s hope and a future for your company. Raj describes Bob’s work as a healing ministry. [32:33] Raj explains why he believes leaders still lead through fear. [40:09] Marcel and Raj discuss NKC, who says that: “Leaders driven by love will bring sustainability and healing to the business as well as for themselves.” [44:20] Healing organizations lead with love, innocence, simplicity, and truth. [46:12] A healing organization helps its customers engage in meaningful consumption. [48:04] Raj wants you to think about your own need for healing. “You are your most important stakeholder,” he says. Heal yourself and then bring that into the world. [50:15]

This long running serial comedy (1930-1945) starred husband and wife Goodman and Jane Ace (photo). The program used practically no sound effects and only some introductory music because it was dialog based, similar to "Vic and Sade." It was a low-key legend of old-time radio that was known for it literate, bland conversational style and the malaprops of the female lead, Jane Ace, the real-life spouse of Goodman Ace. There was no live audience, in fact when they tried the show with a live audience, it lasted one season! The dialog is what this cleverly written show is all about. On this track are three back-to-back approximately 12 minute episodes. This was a serial comedy so the shows were connected. These three involve Jane opening up her first checking account, then figuring out how to use it, and lastly dealing with problems related to the account, like over drafts! Listen to Jane... the malaprops like "Time wounds all heels" or "You've got to take the bitter with the better," abound. Lots of fun. I inserted a couple of old time radio commercials between the episodes... can you identify the star featured in the first commercial "Wildroot Cream Oil?" Initials are "NKC"...

WNDP had a blast hanging with Royce and Dan of "Life Absolute". Electronic and soulful music makers have joined forces to create these sweet songs. You have to hear it, which you can on this episode! We were also joined by Jason Arnold and Roul Berkewitz! Of course K.B.Jamz, Chevy Luv, P.Dev and Cletus were there to talk about time travel and Arnold.  We are sponsored by "Old Shawnee Pizza at Repeal 18th" in NKC and "The Majestic Restaurant" and of course "Jaykco Guitar Straps". Keep your eyes open for info on the live "This or That" game show coming to "Phosphor Studio" on September 26th. You can be there live and even become a contestant to win prizes. All this is helped by our "Patreon" page. Which you can become a "Day Gizzard" and help us out! All the info is below. Thanks for the support and keep practicing! https://www.patreon.com/wndp https://www.repeal18th.com/ http://majestickc.com/ http://www.jaykco.com/
