I think that is one of the biggest areas that you can focus on now. ----- Oh, customer success stories, 100% and I think this is where sometimes we forget. It seems so obvious, right? But when I engage personally, when. I engage with another salesperson, right? Or somebody selling something to me? Yes, you know, I'm interested in what they can do for me, what I'm really interested in what they've done for other people, because that's where it is. Because, let's face it, we all know that anybody who's brought a product or service to market, you always know that customers end up using it in ways that you could never imagine, right? And they do things differently, not how you see and therefore learning about what you have done with other people, that is great information for for somebody, for prospect you're engaging with, and that's what I love. I want to hear the things that they've done with other people, how they helped other companies, how they helped other individuals.  And those stories and and we all come from, I mean, culturally, we all kind of come from storytelling traditions, you know, certainly I did, you know, in Ireland, and that's what resonates with people, is stories. And now you take yourself out of the equation a little bit, and you put, you put your customer, and you say, You know what their issue, what their solution? And then, and here's the nice thing, is, like, you should be enthusiastic and say, and then they did this, or they asked us to do this, right? They said, hey, if your product could just do this one other thing, and, you know, something, we went back and we discovered, yeah, that's something that would benefit everybody. And then we immediately, you know, implemented it in a way. So this, there's so much richness in talking about your customer success story. ----- ----more----   Your Intended Message is the podcast about how you can boost your career and business success by honing your communication skills. We'll examine the aspects of how we communicate one-to-one, one to few and one to many – plus that important conversation, one to self. In these interviews we will explore presentation skills, public speaking, conversation, persuasion, negotiation, sales conversations, marketing, team meetings, social media, branding, self talk and more.   Your host is George Torok George is a specialist in communication skills. The Evolution of Digital Marketing: A Conversation with Reggie James We recently had the pleasure of speaking with Reggie James, a distinguished expert in marketing and digital strategy and the founder of Digital Clarity. Our conversation revolved around the evolution of digital marketing. The importance of branding and the need for businesses to redefine themselves in the post-pandemic era. The Commoditization n the Market Reggie started by describing how changes in consumer behavior have significantly shaped the evolution of digital marketing over time. He pointed out that many companies in the B2B space struggle to differentiate themselves in the commoditized digital marketing market. This is where Reggie's consultancy, Digital Clarity, comes into play, helping companies think differently and create effective marketing strategies. We discussed how digital marketing has become commoditized, with companies investing in various platforms without seeing significant results. Reggie emphasized the importance of cutting through the noise and capturing attention in today's crowded digital landscape. He mentioned the return to brand as a key factor in standing out from the competition. The Essential Components of "Brand " When I asked Reggie to explain the essential components of a brand, he explained that a brand encompasses various aspects. This including the company's name, product, customer perception, and how they want customers to feel. He emphasized the importance of value propositions and messaging in building a strong brand. How Digital Clarity Help - Experienced Advice Reggie's consultancy helps clients understand their brand components and distill them into a clear messaging and positioning strategy. He believes that a brand cannot exist without a strategy. Successful companies make it look easy because they only see the tip of the iceberg, not the hard work and effort underneath. The Challenge of Communication Our conversation also touched on the challenges of communication and the need for companies to align their messaging across different departments. We highlighted the importance of educating and engaging buyers rather than bombarding them with information. Reggie brought up the example of FedEx, where the delivery personnel became the face of the brand and influenced customers' perceptions and trust. Understand Your Customers Reggie emphasized the need for companies to understand their customers' pain points and how their product or service can solve a problem or create an opportunity. We also touched on the concept of authenticity, which has become increasingly important in marketing. Reggie believes that authenticity can only be achieved when companies truly understand who they are and are honest about their strengths and limitations. Reggie emphasized the need for change in the field of sales and marketing. He mentioned that while there are universities and courses for various subjects, there is still no dedicated sales university. Sales and marketing are multi-dimensional and cannot be confined to a single approach. Align Your Sales & Marketing Reggie believes that the post-pandemic era requires a fresh start, where businesses need to rebuild and redefine themselves. He urges companies to be authentic and not miss the opportunity to do so. I agreed and added that the best time to make a change is now, comparing it to planting a tree. The Need For a Clear Strategy Reggie concluded by introducing his company, Digital Clarity, a marketing strategy consultancy that helps businesses grow and provides direction based on their 30 years of experience. I encouraged the audience to check out Reggie and Digital Clarity, emphasizing the importance of having a well-defined marketing strategy to avoid wasting money on ineffective campaigns. Our conversation with Reggie James highlighted the need for change in sales and marketing, the importance of authenticity, and the role of branding in today's digital landscape. It was a pleasure having him on the show, and I look forward to more insightful discussions in the future. This is your source for channeled holistic stress management techniques, guidance, inspiration and motivation to stay on your path to rapid financial ascension and massive impact as a conscious entrepreneur. The title of this podcast episode is Making Your Sales and Marketing Pop. So I get to have my friend John Golden from sales pub. Welcome to the podcast.   John: Thank you. Thank you. I bought an introduction in the past. Well, I hope I live up to this to this billing.   Victoria: I'm sure of it. So what I love about your personality, John, is that you are so positive and you have a really great CRM that also backs up our entrepreneurs being able to serve more people. So with that in mind, could you tell us like this, this could be you know, the very first time that someone is getting you here you learn about what you do in the world. And so with that in mind, if you could tell us in your own words, what it is you do, and especially what are the three things that you're known for?   John: Yeah. So what I do today is I'm today I'm the Chief Marketing Strategy Officer with Pipeliner CRM and I'm also the the editor in chief or executive editor of sales pop online sales. I do the podcast that I was delighted to have sensei Victoria on and yeah and so to be honest, I'm known for, for business strategy for marketing for sales. I was fortunate earlier in my career. I ran. I was CEO of a couple of companies. One was international sales training, consultancy how Thwaites been selling the Neil Rackham book. So, that gave me a great background and grounding it also I was fortunate to work for a parent company that owned all of these businesses, but they allowed you this this this is an entrepreneur's dream in some ways, right? They allowed you to run the business as your own. But But you did but you had their backing, you know, so but but you have to deliver, right? And so that was a great grounding.  And after that, then I started my own management consulting business. And one of my larger customers was Nicholas Kim, who had started Pipeliner CRM. He moved over from Austria to this state. We started collaborating it was going great and he then he asked me, come on, come partner with me. And that's kind of where I ended up today. I've worked at I've worked at startup companies. I worked in Silicon Valley during the.com. I'm originally Irish and that's where I ended up. I came to Silicon Valley in the mid 90s. I moved over there. And you know, that was a bit of a wild introduction, I have to say to to the States because that was as we know, that was a bubble. And so over the years, I think, yeah, I like to look I like to look at myself as having a lot of experience in different areas. And that I think, is the essence of if you're going to start or run your own business, you need to have at least a good foundation in each of those in, in business strategy in general, in sales and in marketing, and you don't have to be you don't have to be a super expert at all of them. But you do need some kind of grounding in those   Victoria: 100% So like, what I found is that a lot of people who so we've been in the game for a while like I'm entering year 12 Right. - Let's talk about it! - Thanks for stopping by! While you're here, let me ask you a question: Do you ever feel like you're having a hard time sustaining the level of energy you need in order to keep up with the demands of your business? Or do you find yourself struggling to stay consistent with your self care - like meditation, movement, and nutrition - because you're so busy and distracted at work? Searching for safe spaces to celebrate your wins and work through your sh*t as an energy sensitive entrepreneur? If that resonates, know this: you are in the right place; in fact your intuition has lead you here to the gateway for your next breakthrough: GO HERE NOW.

Thus began the 10-year journey that ultimately resulted in Pipeliner CRM—a unique solution that actually empowers salespeople to sell instead of burdening them with cumbersome administrative duties as traditional CRM solutions have. Today we talk about the dot com crash, the future of technology, and his ten year journey with his latest company. Let’s get to it!

Listen up - many logical ideas in this episode. The key to Pipeliner CRM's success has been establishing long term relationship with customers, not just win, but maintain them - especially with a subscription product. They do this through a number of methods. The strongest are: Free trainings Understand what are the business drivers that brought them to us in the first place. Periodically re-evaluate their goals to see if they need to adjust how they use our product to best meet those goals. What fails and has become typical throughout the software industries is to get them to take a trial and then try to sell it to them. Why would you not start at the first encounter with a prospect? Treat prospects like they are already customers; ESPECIALLY in trial process.Engage them with the people they are going to work with, so it's not just about their experience with the product, but the customer experience. John Golden talks about what they need to have the answers to: How do we make the customer experience a consistently positive one from the moment they engage with the brand whether, even from the trial; and how can we guide you to trial the CRM to fit their needs, rather than just hoping they'll figure it out during the trial period. Some of the other points covered included: You can have a host of inconsistent experiences with a company. That's common, we always default to our worst experience.Think of an airline trip - Great onboarding, great flight, customer service but then at the end, your bags are delayed and no one communicates why, or how long they will be. Now when someone asks you about your flight, that's the top of mind experience you mention. The 10 positive touch points were wiped out with the one negative. There is a massive economic value to a positive consistent customer service experience. Results? They are likely to be open to giving you a review, testimonial, and ultimately, may become an advocate for your brand and customer service. People remember how you made them feel. Clear communication will continue to build that trust - even when you mess up. Clear communication is critically important. Don't make promises that you are apt to keep kicking the can down the road. John's AHA moment:In this world of disconnected connectedness, where everyhone is trying to leverage techonlogy, treating people as people. Check out Pipeliner CRM - it's visual because pictures speak clearer to most.Easy to use, easy for management. Pipelinersales.com - take a trial.  Take a trial the software AND trial the company as people.   More tips and guides on Susan's website https://susanfinch.com/rootedtips/
