Episode 82 Oklahoma joins the list of states to enact meat labeling laws.  Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt last week signed into law a measure requiring manufactured protein products to be labeled differently from meat. House Bill 1126 requires food manufacturers, distributors and retailers to clearly disclose that cell-cultivated or cultured products or those that come from a lab, plants or insect proteins are not meat. Those convicted of false advertising could face a misdemeanor. The law places the burden of proof on the manufacturer and not the retailer. Oklahoma's Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry would be responsible for investigating complaints that food products are falsely advertised or misbranded as meat products. The act takes effect Nov. 1. Several U.S. states have enacted or proposed laws regulating the labeling of meat and alternative protein products, particularly focusing on plant-based and cell-cultured (lab-grown) meats. These laws aim to ensure transparency for consumers and protect traditional meat industries.AP News+7The Guardian+7National Agricultural Law Center+7 States with Enacted Meat Labeling Laws Missouri: In 2018, Missouri became the first state to pass a law prohibiting misrepresentation of products as meat if they are not derived from harvested livestock or poultry. Wikipedia Arkansas: Enacted Act 501, which restricts the use of traditional meat terms on plant-based and cell-cultured products. Wikipedia+1NYU Environmental Law Journal+1 Louisiana: Passed legislation banning the use of meat terminology on products not derived from animals. Penn State Agricultural Law Center+3National Agricultural Law Center+3Houston Chronicle+3 Alabama: Followed Florida by enacting similar legislation banning the production and sale of lab-grown meat. National Agricultural Law Center+7WIRED+7Big Rapids Pioneer+7 States with Proposed or Pending Legislation Michigan: Introduced bills aiming to prohibit labeling lab-grown meat substitutes as "meat" and to ban the manufacture and sale of cultivated meat derived from animal cell cultures. Big Rapids Pioneer Nebraska: Governor Jim Pillen proposed a ban on lab-grown meat, facing pushback from ranchers and farm groups who prefer clear labeling over outright bans. AP News Arizona and Tennessee: Considered legislation to ban cell-cultured meat; however, the bills did not pass in the 2024 legislative sessions. Penn State Agricultural Law Center+2National Agricultural Law Center+2Houston Chronicle+2 Federal Regulations At the federal level, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversees meat labeling through the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). In March 2024, the USDA finalized a rule allowing the voluntary use of "Product of USA" or "Made in the USA" labels on meat, poultry, and egg products only when they are derived from animals born, raised, slaughtered, and processed in the United States. USDA Summary The landscape of meat labeling laws in the U.S. is evolving, with several states enacting or proposing legislation to regulate the labeling of alternative meat products. These laws vary in scope, with some focusing on prohibiting specific terminology and others imposing outright bans on certain products. The federal government also plays a role in standardizing labeling practices to ensure consumer transparency. Two weeks ago, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments on April 30, 2025, about whether Oklahoma can operate the nation's first faith-based charter school. If the Supreme Court decides their way, St. Isidore of Seville would be a virtual, K-12 school run by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and the Diocese of Tulsa. We should note that a lot of conservatives are with St. Isidore. Alliance Defending Freedom's Jim Campbell was one of the attorneys arguing on behalf of the Oklahoma charter board and the school. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, a Republican supporter of St. Isidore, said the case “stands to be one of the most significant religious and education freedom decisions in our lifetime.” The conservative legal group Liberty Counsel filed an amicus brief in the case, also in favor of St. Isidore. But not everyone – even on the conservative and Christian side of the aisle — is so enthusiastic. David Dockery is the president of the International Alliance for Christian Education. He told MinistryWatch, “IACE does not have an official position on the St Isidore case since we do not have full agreement on this matter among those who serve on the Board.” Dan Burrell is a longtime Christian education leader. Today he serves as a pastor in Charlotte, N.C., and the chairman of the board of MinistryWatch. His experience includes a tenure as president of the Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools. He was also a faculty member at Liberty University's graduate school of education. Burrell said he was “pretty strongly opposed” to government-funded religious schools.

Tornadoes killed four people in Oklahoma and left thousands without power Sunday after a destructive outbreak of severe weather flattened buildings in the heart of one rural town and injured at least 100 people across the state. More than 20,000 people were still without electricity hours after tornadoes began late Saturday night. The destruction was extensive in Sulphur, a town of about 5,000 people, where a tornado crumpled many downtown buildings, tossed cars and buses and sheared the roofs off houses across a 15-block radius. “You just can't believe the destruction,” Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said during a visit to the hard-hit town. “It seems like every business downtown has been destroyed.” The condition of Oklahoma is very much the condition of our entire nation, a true end times state of emergency. On this episode of the NTEB Prophecy News Podcast, the Midwest took a severe hit this weekend with tornadoes, hail storms and thunderstorms. Many NTEB'ers were in the direct path of the storms, and it was a terrifying time. 2024 is an election year, and another storm is brewing right now which threatens to inflict great damage on our nation just as it did last time it happened in 2020. America is a nation on the brink, and it will only take just another, little end times push to send it over the edge. In other news, Joe Biden is convinced he has Donald Trump on the ropes and packing for prison, will his plan succeed? All this and more on today's episode!

This is Garrison Hardie from your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief for Wednesday, May 10th, 2023. Concordis Education Partners: Classical Christian education has reminded us to aim education at truth, but the trivium has been used as a formula rather than a way of training students in discernment. To teach well, you must coach. Concordis Foundation is offering their third annual BOOT CAMP – a faculty summit – July 11-13th in Moscow, Idaho. This is a three-day intensive teaching training where you learn to coach students, using the trivium, so that you can meet students at all learning levels. For more information, visit them at concordispartners.com https://www.breitbart.com/border/2023/05/08/texas-military-deploys-additional-troops-to-border-ahead-of-title-42-end/ Texas Military Deploys Additional Troops to Border Ahead of Title 42 End Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the deployment of an additional 545 National Guardsmen to assist in the newest surge of migrants crossing the border from Mexico. The deployment under the state’s Operation Lone Star comes days ahead of the expected May 11 end of the Title 42 migrant expulsion program. “These additional forces will bolster the thousands of Texas National Guard service members already assisting local and state law enforcement agencies to secure the border; stop the smuggling of drugs, weapons, and people into Texas; and prevent, detect, and interdict transnational criminal behavior between the ports of entry,” Texas Military Department officials said in a written statement. “We have expanded our capabilities to include boat teams that patrol hundreds of river miles, drones and helicopters that detect illicit activity from the air, and brush teams, security points, and roving patrols that block and interdict illegal smuggling (drugs, weapons, and people) into Texas.” On Sunday, Border Patrol agents in the five Texas-based sectors apprehend more than 5,100 migrants who crossed the border from Mexico, according to a law enforcement source. This represents nearly 60 percent of the nearly 8,700 who crossed along the entire southwest border with Mexico. The number of migrants crossing the border from Mexico surged last week ahead of this week’s expected end to the CDC’s Title 42 migrant expulsion protocol. On Friday and Saturday, the number of apprehensions exceeded 9,000 per day, Breitbart Texas reported U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz reported the apprehension of 54,951 migrants during the preceding seven-day period. In addition, another 18,698 migrants were classified as “got-aways.” So far this fiscal year, agents apprehended nearly 1.4 million migrants along the southwest border, according to a law enforcement official. Migrant got-aways jumped to nearly 453,000 bringing the total number of known border crossers this fiscal year to more than 1.8 million migrants in less than seven months. https://thepostmillennial.com/white-house-to-limit-press-credentials-to-those-who-act-professional?utm_campaign=64487 White House to limit press credentials to those who act 'professional' On Friday, the White House released a new set of rules for press badges, also known as hard passes, that stated the recipient must act in a "professional manner" in order to keep their badge and told all who currently possess a pass must reply by July 31. The New York Post reports that the announcement said, "The White House expects that all hard pass holders will act in a professional manner while on White House grounds by respecting their colleagues, White House employees, and guests; observing stated restrictions on access to areas of the White House or credentialed events; and not impeding events or briefings on campus." "Absent security concerns involving the United States Secret Service or other exigent circumstances, the White House will provide a written warning to you if your conduct violates these expectations. Subsequent violations may lead to the suspension or revocation of your hard pass, following notice and an opportunity to respond," the notice continued. The move comes after Today News Africa reporter Simon Ateba grilled Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in January and told her, "You don't seem a good fit for this job." Reporters who have had badges auto-renew since 2017 need to have their employer submit a letter to the White House confirming "full-time employment with an organization whose principal business is news dissemination." The notice said that freelancers, "will need letters from two news organizations describing your affiliation, or, if you freelance primarily for one organization, a letter from that organization describing the extent and duration of your relationship with the organization." The journalists need to provide proof of a personal or professional address in the DC area, submit to a background check, have an "accreditation by a press gallery in either the Supreme Court, US Senate or US. House of Representatives," and "have accessed the White House campus at least once during the prior six months for work, or have proof of employment within the last three months to cover the White House." A White House press official told the Post, "This has been thoughtfully considered for more than a year. We worked hard to be responsive to needs and feedback of journalists covering the White House. As we return to these prior criteria, which help ensure hard passes are in the hands of reporters who need regular access to campus as part of their duties, we are providing a nearly 3-month window for reporters to turn in their applications and reach out with any questions. Kevin Stitt (R) has defended his decision to veto a bill seeking to fund the state’s PBS station through 2026, arguing that the state-funded broadcaster is indoctrinating and sexualizing children. Last week Stitt vetoed HB 2820, which would have funded the statewide PBS station Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) until 2026. In a recent interview with Fox News, Stitt explained his reason for doing so, highlighting objectionable content such as a segment of “Let’s Learn” featuring the children’s book “The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish,” being read by a drag queen called Lil Miss Hot Mess. “OETA, to us, is an outdated system. You know, the big, big question is why are we spending taxpayer dollars to prop up or compete with the private sector and run television stations? And then when you go through all of the programming that's happening and the indoctrination and over-sexualization of our children, it's just really problematic, and it doesn't line up with Oklahoma values,” Stitt told Fox News. In addition to Lil Miss Hot Mess, one of the founders of Drag Queen Story Time, reading The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish,” the governor’s office mentioned a PBS Newshour segment that featured parents who supported children having access to experimental medical sex changes, as well as abundant “Pride Month” programming, and a special about a town of Christians and drag queens who “step into the spotlight to dismantle stereotypes.” Stitt objects to the use of tax dollars funding someone’s agenda. He went on to call the concept of the public television station “outdated.” Stitt’s decision has been criticized by some on the left, including by State Rep. Monroe Nichols (D) who accused Stitt of “continued attacks on public education and underrepresented Oklahoma communities.” Stitt responded by calling this accusation “nonsense,” and just another attempt by Democrats to push a radical left agenda on children. Hour 3 -  Happy Tuesday! Here's what Nick Reed covers this hour: Former Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill claimed Monday that Jesus Christ “would be shocked” at America's lack of gun control following a Saturday shooting at a Texas mall. The federal government attempted to force the St. Francis Catholic hospital system Oklahoma to choose between losing its accreditation for Medicaid and Medicare or removing eternal flames from its chapels, which is central to their faith. The hospital system refused, citing their First Amendment rights and religious beliefs. Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker appeared at Georgia Institute of Technology on Saturday and gave the commencement speech. "In the end— no matter how much money you attain— none of it will matter if you are alone and devoid of purpose... I can offer one controversial antidote that I believe will have a lasting impact for generations to come: GET MARRIED AND START A FAMILY." Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt, R.,  vetoed a bill last week that would have funded operations of the state's PBS station, Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA), through 2026, accusing the station of indoctrinating young children. The governor's office provided examples of OETA content that it considers objectionable, including a segment of "Let's Learn" in which a children's book titled "The Hips on the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish" is read by someone called Lil Miss Hot Mess.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt kicked off his new term with the annual State of the State address on Monday. The Governor laid out his policy priorities for the session: which includes expanding school choice, eliminating the state grocery tax of 4.5% and reducing the personal income tax and corporate tax rates. He also called for a ban on gender-affirming care for minors. His priorities and those of state lawmakers don't always align, but Stitt's speech gives us a glimpse into what the GOP-led legislature will consider during this legislative session. We'll have more coverage and offer context on the radio and online at KOSU.org. And, of course, Michael, Neva & Ryan will be back later this week to provide their thoughts on the address and the new legislative session.

The Uvalde school district's embattled police chief has been fired following allegations that he made several critical mistakes during a mass shooting that left 19 students and two teachers dead. The district's board of trustees said Wednesday day that it voted to dismiss Chief Pete Arredondo, who has faced criticism since the May 24 massacre at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Officers armed with rifles waited in a school hallway for more than an hour while the gunman carried out the shooting. President Joe Biden has announced his long-awaited plan to deliver on his campaign promise to provide $10,000 in student debt cancellation for millions of Americans — and up to $10,000 more for those with the greatest financial need. Biden announced in a Wednesday tweet that borrowers who earn less than $125,000 a year, or families earning less than $250,000, would be eligible for the $10,000 loan forgiveness. For recipients of Pell Grants, which are reserved for undergraduates with the most significant financial need, the federal government would cancel up to an additional $10,000 in federal loan debt. 200 million dollars. Wouldn't it be nice is someone paid you 200 million dollars? But wouldn't it be a nightmare to be slapped with a fine amounting to 200 million dollars? The financial services firm Morgan Stanley recently announced they expect to pay a 200 million dollar fine levied by government regulators. What did they do wrong? Employees misused their personal computers and cell phones, bypassing the company's record-keeping obligations.1 Then there's the Tulsa school district. The Oklahoma governor wants to audit them over possible misuse of funds, violating state law prohibiting the teaching of critical race theory.2 Good things are often misused, like prescription medication. People don't follow the dosing instructions or take it without a doctor's order. The restrictions are in place to protect people. Misusing prescription meds can damage the body or cause death. You see, when things are misused, bad things usually happen. The same is true with God's name. The third commandment says, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain.” Taking something in vain means to use it in a useless or empty way. This is far more than avoiding the use of God's name as a curse. Maybe we'd understand it better with the New International Version. Exodus 20:7 says, “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.” Today, honor God with the proper use of his name. According to the officials, agents from BORTAC, the Customs and Border Protection tactical unit, and ICE's Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrived on the scene between noon and 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Local law enforcement asked them to wait, and then instructed HSI agents to help pull children out of the windows. The BORTAC team, armed with tactical gear, at first did not move toward the gunman. After approximately 30 minutes passed, however, the federal agents opted of their own volition to lead the “stack” of officers inside the school and take down the shooter. Steven McCraw, the director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, said Friday that Peter Arredondo, the chief of police for the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District, had stopped at least 19 officers from breaking into the school as the gunman opened fire for at least an hour. Arredondo believed that the shooter had barricaded himself and that the children were not under an active threat, said McCraw at a news conference. Tragic… Keep that community in your prayers during this time. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/oklahoma-gov-stitt-signs-transgender-bathroom-bill-biological-sex We now shift our eyes north to Oklahoma… Oklahoma has been in the news a lot lately as Governor Stitt recently signed the strongest abortion bill into law in the entire U.S. to date… The more recent news states: Oklahoma Gov. Stitt signs bill requiring students to use bathrooms aligned with their biological sex at birth This needs to be a law? Oklahoma Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt says the measure he signed into law on Wednesday that requires students in schools across the state to use restrooms that align with their biological sex at birth is "common sense" and that it is "kind of crazy" that the law had to be passed in the first place. The legislation, Senate Bill 615, now applies to students in pre-K to 12th grade at public and public charter schools in the state. In addition to bathrooms, the new law also requires students to use locker rooms that align with their biological sex at birth. The bill, which successfully passed through the Oklahoma state legislature last week, calls for schools to "provide a reasonable accommodation to any individual who does not wish to comply" with the new law. That accommodation, according to the measure, is "access to a single-occupancy restroom or changing room." "It's common sense," Stitt told Fox News Digital as he described the law during an interview on Thursday. "It's kind of crazy that we have to pass laws like this nowadays, but it just simply says we're gonna protect girls. Girls are going to go to girls bathrooms, boys are going to go to boys bathrooms, and that's gonna be law for children K through 12 in Oklahoma. We'll have a third, single-use, single-person bathroom for anyone who maybe doesn't, you know, wanna use any one of those bathrooms — which is fine." "We've heard from parents, we've heard from families, we've heard from little girls, they're not going to be comfortable sharing a bathroom with boys throughout school," he added. Asked about what safety this provides for those who have raised concern about sharing bathrooms with transgender students, Stitt reiterated that it is "common sense" and insisted that during his tenure as governor he will not allow boys to expose themselves to little girls in school bathrooms or locker rooms. Discussing potential backlash he may receive over the new law, Stitt said those who are opposed to the law can "argue with me and we can have a disagreement." Gold River Trading Co. "Schools should only be using age-appropriate materials, and these flashcards clearly do not meet that standard for a pre-school classroom," Republican State Rep. Erin Paré said in a statement after being alerted to the cards by a constituent, according to North Carolina Speaker of the House Tim Moore. Paré said a concerned constituent emailed her about the cards that were being used to teach preschoolers colors at Ballentine Elementary School in Wake County, NC. Paré then contacted the principal of the elementary school in an attempt to verify the use of the cards in class, with the principal taking "swift action" to investigate the constituents claims. The principal was able to locate the cards in the preschool classroom and verify with the teacher that they had been used to teach colors, which the principal said was approved curriculum at the school. The principal took possession of the cards and alerted the district superintendent and human resources about the incident, which she said she was unaware of until being alerted to the situation by Paré. The incident comes amid an effort in the North Carolina General Assembly to pass legislation aimed at giving parents more control over what their children are taught in school, including giving them the option to opt out of what they consider "age-inappropriate classroom materials." In the meantime, Paré said the situation schools across the state should use the response of Ballentine Elementary as an example. We’re in the last few days of May! Meaning, we’re just 5 months away from our Fight Laugh Feast Conferfence. This year our national conference is in Knoxville, TN October 6th-8th. The theme of this year’s conference is Lies, Propaganda, Storytelling and the Serrated Edge. Satan is the father of lies, and the mother of those lies is a government who has rejected God. We have especially been lied to these last two years, and the COVIDpanic has been one of the central mechanisms that our government has used to lie to us and to grab more power. Because Christians have not been reading their bibles, we are susceptible to lies and weak in our ability to fight these lies. God has given us His word to fight Satan and his lies, and we need to recover all of God’s word, its serrated edge and all. Mark your calendars for October 6th-8th, as we fight, laugh and feast with fellowship, beer and Psalms, our amazing lineup of speakers, hanging with our awesome vendors, meeting new friends, and more. Early bird tickets sale now!. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/detroit-tigers-money-trans-surgeries-kids Now it’s time for the topic that I love. SPORTS! Though, once again this topic just shows the disgusting underbelly of what our culture has soured into. So… do we have any Detroit Tigers’ fans in our audience? Well, you should take note of where the club is spending your money… Detroit Tigers funneling money for trans surgeries for kids The money that Detroit Tigers fans regularly give to the organization through ticket sales may not have yielded a quality on-field product in years, but some of it will now benefit local LGBTQ groups which support irreversible trans surgeries for children. Nate Hochman of National Review recently explained that those who purchase tickets for "Pride Night" this year have the option to support groups such as the Trans Sistas of Color Project and the Ruth Ellis Center, which both directly or indirectly provide "gender-affirming surgery" to those under 18. The Trans Sistas of Color Project website refers to "Trans Minor Rights" and boasts that its funding recipients perform "chest reconstruction and/or genital reassignment surgery," while the Ruth Ellis Center offers "transition care for transgender youth," including surgery. The Center further claims that there "are a lot of barriers — especially for people under 18 — that still exist for accessing puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones. This is a huge problem." There is indeed "a huge problem" here, but it’s not the one they claim. The problem is the genital mutilation of children, but the Tigers don’t seem to care about that. Unlike previous "Pride" days at Comerica Park, which began in 2018, those who purchase tickets for "Pride Night" on June 1 this year have the option of donating to organizations such as the Trans Sistas of Color Project, the Ruth Ellis Center and others. I used to love sports across the board… but the rot of our godless culture has seeped into the fibers of every sport, whether it be baseball, the NFL, the NBA, you get the picture… Heck even nascar has buckled with the likes of Bubba Wallace. Hockey, and MMA seem to be the last bastions of just focusing on sports, as opposed to politics. Okay, last thing… Happy Memorial Day, especially to those who have served… Here’s some history on the subject. Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2022 will occur on Monday, May 30. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season. It is unclear where exactly this tradition originated; numerous different communities may have independently initiated the memorial gatherings. And some records show that one of the earliest Memorial Day commemorations was organized by a group of formerly enslaved people in Charleston, South Carolina less than a month after the Confederacy surrendered in 1865. Nevertheless, in 1966 the federal government declared Waterloo, New York, the official birthplace of Memorial Day. I want to take a moment to thank all of those in our audience, and across the U.S. who have fought for this country. All gave some, but some gave all. We owe you our gratitude. Thank you for listening to this CrossPolitic Daily News Brief. If you liked the show, share it far and wide. And as always, if you’d like to partner with CrossPolitic Studios, email me, at garrison@fightlaughfeast.com. For CrossPolitic News, I’m Garrison Hardie. Have a great Memorial Day, and Lord bless.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt on Wednesday signed into law the nation's strictest abortion ban, making the state the first in the nation to effectively end availability of the procedure. State lawmakers approved the ban enforced by civil lawsuits rather than criminal prosecution, similar to a Texas law that was passed last year. The law takes effect immediately upon Stitt's signature and prohibits all abortions with few exceptions. Abortion providers have said they will stop performing the procedure as soon as the bill is signed. "I promised Oklahomans that as governor I would sign every piece of pro-life legislation that came across my desk and I am proud to keep that promise today," the first-term Republican said in a statement. "From the moment life begins at conception is when we have a responsibility as human beings to do everything we can to protect that baby's life and the life of the mother. That is what I believe and that is what the majority of Oklahomans believe." See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The father of a child killed by a shooting rampage at a Texas elementary school says police were slow to move in and were unprepared. Javier Cazares is the father of fourth-grader Jacklyn Cazares, one of 19 youngsters who died along with two teachers in a classroom at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. Cazares says he raced to school when he heard about the shooting. Cazares says he was upset that police weren't charging and raised to idea of going inside himself with several others. However, the head of the Texas Department of Public Safety says law enforcement immediately engaged the shooter and contained him in the classroom. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has signed into law the nation's strictest abortion ban. The ban, passed by state lawmakers last week, prohibits all abortions with few exceptions. Stitt signed the bill on Wednesday. Providers have said they will stop performing the procedure as soon as the bill is signed. The law is part of an aggressive push in Republican-led states to scale back abortion rights. The only exceptions included in the law are to save the life of a pregnant woman or if the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest that has been reported to law enforcement. Senegal's president says 11 newborns have died in a fire that broke out in the neonatal unit of a hospital. Authorities in the town of Tivaouane said only three babies could be saved after a short circuit caused the blaze.  Infant baby formula arrived at a Washington airport following the second delivery Wednesday. The Biden administration is importing from Europe to ease the domestic supply shortfall. The White House has announced more steps to make the antiviral treatment Paxlovid more accessible across the U.S. as it projects COVID-19 infections will continue to spread over the summer travel season.  President Joe Biden has signed an executive order to improve accountability in policing. It's a meaningful but limited action on the second anniversary of George Floyd's death that reflected the challenges in addressing racism, excessive use of force and public safety with a deadlocked Congress. Most of the order issued Wednesday is focused on federal law enforcement agencies — for example, requiring them to review and revise policies on use of force. It will also create a database to help track officer misconduct. The administration cannot require local police departments to participate in the database, which is intended to prevent problem officers from job-hopping. The order also restricts the flow of surplus military equipment to local police. The Celtics get a huge win in Miami, the Blues rally to stay alive, the Raiders show interest in an exiled quarterback, the Nationals blank the Dodgers and the Giants clobber the Mets. The governor of Texas says the gunman who killed 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school had warned in online messages minutes before the attack that he was going to shoot up a school. Gov. Greg Abbott says the shooter, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, used an AR-15 in the attack Tuesday at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde. About 30 minutes before the shooting, Ramos made three social media posts. According to the governor, Ramos posted that he was going to shoot his grandmother, then that he had shot the woman, and finally that he was going to shoot an elementary school. Abbott says Ramos had no known criminal or mental health history. “Evil swept across Uvalde yesterday,” Abbott said. The head of the Food and Drug Administration testified about a series of setbacks that led to a months-long delay in inspecting the plant at the center of a nationwide baby formula shortage. FDA Commissioner Robert Califf is facing questions Wednesday from House lawmakers probing the formula shortage. Califf faced fury from members of Congress over the slow response, which has rattled parents and snowballed into a major political controversy. Califf called the response “too slow" and “not optimal.” Lawmakers will also hear from an executive from Abbott Nutrition, whose factory has been shuttered due to contamination. Stocks rose broadly on Wall Street Wednesday after minutes from the Federal Reserve's most recent meeting indicate the central bank intends to move "expeditiously" to raise interest rates back to more neutral levels in its fight to tame inflation. An investigative report blames British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and other senior leaders for allowing boozy government parties that broke the U.K.'s COVID-19 lockdown rules. While Johnson said he took “full responsibility” for the breach, he insisted he would not resign. Revelations that Johnson and his staff repeatedly flouted restrictions they imposed on the country in 2020 and 2021 have fueled outrage in Britain and led to calls from opponents for Johnson to step down over the scandal known as “partygate.” Johnson insisted again he did not knowingly break any rules. He ignored calls from opponents to resign, saying he was “humbled” and had “learned a lesson” but it was now time to “move on.” An outbreak of Legionnaires' Disease in a Bronx neighborhood has sickened 19 people since the beginning of the month, with one person dying. The Health Department says cooling towers in the borough's Highbridge section have been tested for the presence of the bacteria Legionella which causes the disease, a form of pneumonia. The bacteria was found in four of the towers, which the department ordered to be disinfected. People can get Legionnaires' disease when they breathe in water vapor with the bacteria. It isn't contagious, and can be treated with antibiotics, but can be dangerous for some people like those with pre-existing conditions. Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has voluntarily entered a rehabilitation program, forcing the Boston-based rock band to cancel the first portion of its upcoming Las Vegas residency. The band posted on social media on Tuesday that Tyler recently had foot surgery and required pain management. The band said he recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on his health and recovery. The 74-year-old Tyler has made no secret of his lifelong struggle with substance abuse disorder. The band says their goal is to start performing again in September. Ricky Gervais' new Netflix special is drawing fire from LGBTQ and trans advocacy groups. In the stand-up special, titled “SuperNature," Gervais makes a series of graphic comments about trans women and what he calls “old-fashioned women." At another point in the hourlong special, Gervais defended his approach as equal-opportunity humor and not a reflection of his views on trans or other rights. But transgender and LGBTQ defenders said his supposed jokes were harmful, with one group asserting that the special violates a Netflix policy against content designed to incite hate or violence. —The Associated Press See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Parents were horrified during the COVID-19 pandemic as they discovered how left-wing activist teachers were indoctrinating their kids in the classroom.Critical race theory, a Marxism-based ideology, burst onto the scene in a big way. The left claims that what's being taught in classrooms isn't critical race theory. But is that true?Jonathan Butcher, an education expert at The Heritage Foundation, says critical race theory isn't just now showing up in classrooms. He contends it's been there for decades."[In the] 1980s, 1990s, you're having teachers become trained in the idea that America is systemically racist, that we should be teaching students not so much about what they share as Americans, but about their identities, the things that separate them and make them different from each other," Butcher explained.Butcher found the trend so troubling, he wrote a book, released April 19, ”Splintered: Critical Race Theory and the Progressive War on Truth,” to help expose just how dangerous the ideology is.He joins the show to talk about the book, reveal the truth about critical race theory in America's schools, and prescribe some solutions to get it out of curriculums. We also cover these stories:Russian President Vladimir Putin pushes back against Western assertions that Russia was failing in its invasion of Ukraine, saying that his war goals will be “unconditionally fulfilled.”New data shows teen suicides increased during the COVID-19 pandemic.Oklahoma Gov. United States Senator Jim Inhofe has been a fixture in Oklahoma politics since the 1960s. But in February the 87-year-old announced he would be resigning less than two years into his most recent term. The timing of his announcement is key. Inhofe said he would stay in office until next year, meaning that Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt can't nominate an interim replacement. Instead, a special election will be held later this year. The surprise opening of a coveted Senate seat resulted in a number of dominoes falling as candidates started appearing out of thin air.  Today on Listen Frontier, Frontier reporter Reese Gorman discuss Inhofe's resignation, how the race is shaping up, and a pending lawsuit that might stop the process just as it's getting started.

Coronavirus infections are ravaging South Dakota, where more than half of tests have come back positive for weeks. Yet Gov. Kristi Noem won't require masks or take other measures to curb the spread, including urging families to limit Thanksgiving gatherings.Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt said he'll attend a college football game over the weekend and spend the holiday with his parents, noting that, "Oklahomans should be with their loved ones over Thanksgiving."And in Tennessee, where hospital beds are filling up and some hospitals struggle to find enough nurses, Republican Gov. Bill Lee said he has no plans to impose restrictions, though he would "encourage Tennesseans to think hard" about celebrating together. As the public health crisis spins out of control and hospitalizations and deaths soar, health experts have agonized for weeks over the potential for explosive virus spread from indoor celebrations. Yet several Republican governors in hard-hit states refuse to echo urgent pleas from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for Americans to stay home next Thursday."We know what will happen. We know that three to four weeks from Thanksgiving, we will see an exacerbation of the outbreaks," said Dr. Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association, who called the governors' reluctance to impose restrictions or encourage people to stay home a "tragedy" motivated by politics. The United States has had more than 11 million diagnosed infections and more than 253,000 deaths from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic. And hospitals in many states are running out of beds and are short on nurses, including in the states where governors are reluctant to act."By not walking the talk .. I think they're sending a very dangerous message to their citizens," Benjamin said.Yet some governors who for months echoed President Donald Trump's criticism of measures to control the virus are now relenting, including North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, who recently ordered the use of masks statewide. And Republican and Democratic governors from several Midwestern states issued a joint video urging people to say home for Thanksgiving and wear masks to slow the spread of the virus until a vaccine is widely available.Ohio's Republican governor, Mike DeWine, and his wife, Fran, cancelled their annual Thanksgiving gathering at their farm in southwestern Ohio, saying it would be too risky for Fran DeWine's 94-year-old mother and two new grandchildren who are just days old.Instead, they will celebrate with family via Zoom or FaceTime and deliver food or see family members from a distance as they pick up turkey, homemade rolls, pies and apple dumplings made by Fran DeWine.Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, is urging people to limit Thanksgiving gatherings, saying, "We ought to love our loved ones enough to not want to expose them to the dangers of COVID."And Michigan's Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer, who has weathered backlash from residents over business closures and mask orders, said she will spend time on Thanksgiving with extended family on Zoom rather than in-person, and urges others to do the same.Still, some governors say they're counting on residents to make up their own minds, even as cases in their states soar.Noem even appeared to criticize measures in other states in a statement Friday, saying, "We won't stop or discourage you from thanking God and spending time together this Thanksgiving."She said smaller gatherings "may be smarter this year" and that anyone who's sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms might want to stay home. CDC scientists believe that around 40% of people who are infected do not have obvious symptoms but can still spread the virus.Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said it's a good idea to be especially mindful during Thanksgiving, but when asked her advice for people considering holding family gatherings she didn't discourage them."Just be conscientious of your s...

The Damage Report with John Iadarola

The Trump Admin. is now taking full control over Covid-19 data, ensuring all information used to track the pandemic is withheld from the public and stripping the CDC of its most basic responsibility. Trump's interview with CBS news yesterday featured him claiming we're over-testing for Covid-19, attacking BLM and defending the use of the confederate flag. Biden has released a new, more ambitious climate plan --but does it go far enough? Geraldo Rivera is, for some reason, defending Ghislaine Maxwell. Oklahoma Gov.
