Ahora será la nueva directora ejecutiva de Microsoft Gaming y reportará directamente a Satya Nadella.La noticia llega en un momento delicado. Las ventas de consolas Xbox han caído frente a PlayStation y Nintendo. Además, los ingresos por videojuegos bajaron cerca de 10 % en el último trimestre reportado, mientras otras áreas de Microsoft crecían alrededor de 17 %. ¿Puede una líder con perfil en inteligencia artificial recuperar la confianza de los jugadores tradicionales de Xbox?Un giro inesperado hacia la inteligencia artificialPara entender este momento hay que mirar atrás. Spencer defendió mantener hardware, estudios y software bajo un mismo equipo. Impulsó Xbox Game Pass y lideró compras gigantescas como ZeniMax por 7.500 millones de dólares y Activision Blizzard por 68.700 millones de dólares.Hoy Microsoft Gaming reúne casi 40 estudios. Allí viven sagas como Halo, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo y Candy Crush Saga. Son mundos que mueven millones de jugadores cada mes.En ese contexto entra Asha Sharma. Ella trabajó en Meta, fue directora de operaciones en Instacart y luego regresó a Microsoft para liderar CoreAI, el grupo que desarrolla herramientas de inteligencia artificial. En su primer mensaje dijo algo directo: no va a llenar el ecosistema con “basura hecha por IA”. Aseguró que los juegos seguirán siendo arte creado por personas.La llegada de Asha Sharma ha generado debate. Primero, grandes juegos. Habló de personajes inolvidables y de historias que hagan sentir algo. Segundo, el regreso de Xbox como consola central para sus fans más fieles. Mewgenics, la nouvelle expérience du savant fou Edmund McMillen, impressionne par la profondeur de son gameplay une fois le choc du premier contact passé. Monster Hunter Stories 3 nous enchante par son univers coloré et ses mécaniques de JRPG bien rodées, et Reanimal nous promet une dose de cauchemars, au croisement entre Little Nightmares et Inside. Dans l'actu, on décrypte un Nintendo Direct qui annonce de belles sorties sur la Switch 2, avec en tête un catalogue de Capcom, qui semble avoir tout compris avant les autres. Highguard, l'annonce surprise des Game Awards qui avait eu du mal à convaincre est dispo et... elle a du mal à convaincre. On essaie d'analyser les raisons de cet échec quasiment certain. On se pose aussi sur l'excellent MIO: Memories in Orbit pour les fans de Metroidvania qui ne sont toujours pas rassasiés, Aza se faufile entre les démons bizarres de I Hate This Place et Ben se frotte au dernier gatcha à la mode: Arknights Endfield sur Playstation 5. Au milieu de tout ça, on termine nos épopées sur Yakuza Kiwami 2 et Octopath Traveler 0, on eu de quoi s'occuper!L'actu jeux vidéo n'est pas en retrait, avec la (nouvelle) restructuration choc d'Ubisoft, et le Direct de Microsoft avec Fable et Forza Horizon 6 en grosses stars.
