Prevent Injury and Improve your Quality of Life with guest Kate Boyle In this episode of Covering All Aspects of Holistic Health, Amanda Love is going to talk to Kate Boyle. In her teenage years, Kate was obsessed with dancing. But at the age of 16, she tore the meniscus in her knee, which essentially is a career-ending injury. In today's episode, Kate tells the listeners what are we doing as women that are overcomplicating our health. Episode Highlights: Kate had received a scholarship to a full-time dance school, but they said here you could become a professional dancer, but you will always be in the back row because of your injury, and you are too much of a liability.Kate ended up going to university to study nutrition, and she became a nutritionist, and that was happening because being in the dance world, she had a lot of issues that restricted her eating, being underweight, and not fueling her body enough.About 12 years ago, Kate opened her own Pilates wellness studio, did nutrition consults and some rehab classes and in-person sort of healthy diets, and ended up where she is today. As per Kate, we need to simplify things as much as we can, and that generally means going back to basics like making sure that we are drinking water and eating more vegetables than we probably think we should be eating and moving our bodies. The studies show that just 10 minutes in nature boosts your energy, mood, and concentration levels. There is lots of evidence with nature, but you have to do it, and you will sort of feel the benefits.Kate works with clients in various ways, but in the studio, when it comes to movement, generally, people are coming to her because they are in some sort of pain. It might be lower back or hip pain, or they have had a knee replacement. For her clients Kate design holistic programs because it is the full-body that we need to look at and how the full-body moves, and we design an exercise program for them around building strength. Many times, people are like, well, one thing could have fit every single person, but it's not true. It would be lovely if it did, but it never works that way.Often, we think we should jump right into a big change, which Amanda thinks will backfire on you when you are stressed out.Connect with Amanda Elise LoveAmanda Elise Love is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist who teaches women how to cook simple but delicious allergy-friendly healthy meals and to integrate a holistic approach through mind, body, and spirit.Amanda also has a long history of illness which culminated with the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia at the age of 20 in 2010. Before that, as a network news producer based in London, Frankfurt, and Budapest, he traveled Europe, Africa, and the Middle East doing two things: covering some of the biggest stories in the world and developing a passion for some of the world's most incredible food.  Page walked through Checkpoint Charlie into East Berlin the night the Berlin wall opened, but his favorite memory of the eastern side before reunification remains the weisswurst sold under the S-Bahn elevated train. He was first served couscous by Moammar Khaddafy's kitchen staff while waiting in a tent to interview the dictator in Libya. Blood oranges at a three o'clock breakfast with Yasser Arafat. Wild boar prosciutto in Rome. Bouillabaisse in Marseille. Cheese pies in Tbilisi. Venison in Salzburg. Nonstop caviar in Moscow. He even managed to slip a few food features in between the headline stories, such as a profile of Germany's leading food critic, which turned out not to be the oxymoron one might assume. Once back in the states, Page has pursued his passion both personally and professionally. Show-producing Good Morning America, he was involved in a substantial amount of food coverage, including cooking segments by Emeril Lagasse. Creating Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and hands-on producing its first eleven seasons took him deep into the world of American food—its vast variations, its history, its evolution, and especially the dedicated cooks and chefs keeping it vibrant. His next series, the syndicated Beer Geeks, dove deep into the intersection of great beer and great food. It is those experiences, that education, and the discovery of little-known stories and facts that led Page to dig even deeper and tie the strands together in Food Americana. SOCIAL MEDIA LINKSMy Food Americana Facebook is  https://www.facebook.com/FoodAmericana  And Instagram is https://www.instagram.com/foodamericana/

On average, Dr. Greg's patients have been to 6 different doctors prior to their first visit. Patients typically come with a large number of tests that have been performed and are told they have normal lab values. What Dr. Greg has learned through years of being in practice and being very hands on with his patients, is how “normal lab values” can miss an underlying condition. Looking at lab values from a functional medicine lens and using “optimal levels” really brings the full picture into view. Dr. Greg specializes in Lyme disease, Hashimoto disease and other autoimmune diseases that are left untreated.Today, Dr. Greg and his family reside in Lakeville, MN where he operates a successful functional medicine practice. He not only treats people locally but also treats people from all over the world. He devotes his time to treating "people". Have you done Physical Therapy but it hasn't worked? Maybe you need hand's on before doing that. In this episode :How long do you work with people?Hand's on TherapyDoesn't start with movement if it is painfulPain Solution before getting into movementWe need to mix up the activities we do! Most people with fibromyalgia can PALM the floor!Pain is not simplicity Go to someone who looks at the whole body Derek Nielsen bio- I am a physical therapist located in Durham, North Carolina, and the owner of Kaizen Physical Therapy. I specialize in focusing on treating movement dysfunctions over symptoms. I believe this is the reason why my patients get such superior results when others can't help them. Specifically, pain typically can be boiled down to one of two movement dysfunctions: 1. Tight joints or muscles 2. Weak joints or muscles. I have found through continuous testing that the area which is in pain is often NOT the area where the root cause of the pain exists. This is especially true if there was not a traumatic injury. In other words, if the pain came on gradually over time and there is no known exact incident one can attribute to when the pain began — this person is likely dealing with pain that is attributable to compensation. The area in pain is hurting because it's compensating for another area that is stiff/tight, or weak. My treatment approach involves diagnosing the entire body for stiffness and weakness (i.e. movement dysfunctions) — not symptoms. By correcting these dysfunctions, pain begins to improve. Typically, this is true regardless of arthritis, degenerative disc disease, herniated discs, etc...His website: https://www.kaizenpt.com/Amanda Elise LoveHave a conversation with me about your 2021 health goals -http://bit.ly/2ko8lSpInstagram - https://bit.ly/3fhjmfJFacebook personal page- https://bit.ly/2Wlwc4aFacebook business page- https://www.facebook.com/amandaeliseloveWebsite - http://www.amandaeliselove.comThe best gift for the 2nd anniversary is you can write a 5-star review as positive reviews really help the podcast!  You can also consider following!
