    Mark Levin Podcast

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, George and Alex Soros are relentlessly working to undermine this nation. Despite the Soros family amassing billions from this country, they choose to finance antisemitic protestors, purchase radio stations to sway public opinion, and back radical Democrats and influencers. They are now supporting protests against President Trump's crime crackdown in Washington, D.C., including a $20 million contribution to groups opposing the deployment of National Guard troops and federalization of D.C.'s police. When will the Republicans investigate the Soros family? Also, Gov Mike Dunleavy calls in to discuss the Trump/Putin meeting in Alaska this Friday. In addition, Alaska's energy resources are vital, but under the Biden and Obama administrations, the state faced restrictive federal policies. In contrast, Trump has liberated Alaska's energy sector. Later, Democrats, having lost touch with the cultural zeitgeist, are attempting to fracture the MAGA coalition built by Trump. Their strategy involves exploiting internal disagreements within MAGA, using media-driven wedge issues like foreign policy and the Epstein case to create divisions. “Some are being advanced by paid influencers and operatives, along with bot armies, to split the movement.” Afterward, Gov Greg Abbott calls in and addresses the ongoing issue of redistricting in Texas, where a special 30-day legislative session is nearing its end with less than a week remaining. Democrats in the Texas House, numbering 62 out of 150 members, left the state to block a quorum, which requires two-thirds of the House and Senate to act, preventing a vote on redistricting. Abbott expressed confidence in passing the redistricting legislation by calling consecutive special sessions if needed. Finally, Gov Ron DeSantis calls in to announce his new Lieutenant Gov Jay Collins. They discuss Florida's appeal and the need for redistricting to ensure fair representation, especially in rapidly growing areas like Tampa Bay and Sarasota. They also advocate for a census that counts only legal residents and points out California's gerrymandered district maps, which favor liberal candidates despite being drawn by an independent commission. Today's Headlines: Trump turned what should've been a straightforward Kennedy Center honoree reveal — shoutout to Sylvester Stallone, Gloria Gaynor, KISS, and Michael Crawford — into another marathon rant. He floated extending National Guard deployments in DC, promised to clear homeless encampments without saying where people will go, and unveiled a pricey 600-troop “Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force” for nationwide protest crackdowns. Down in Texas, Republicans rammed through a gerrymandered congressional map after Trump demanded a special session, while Democrats are still hiding out of state. On the foreign front, Trump is gearing up for his Putin meet-and-greet at an Anchorage military base, warning of “severe consequences” if there's no Ukraine ceasefire. Norway is blaming Russian hackers for sabotaging a dam in April. Trump also nominated former Fox News face Tammy Bruce as deputy ambassador to the UN — even though both the deputy and main gig are currently empty. Texas Democrats' Return Fled to avoid redistricting legislation. Faced legal pressure: potential arrest, fines, and threats of office vacancy. Ultimately returned, allowing the redistricting bill to proceed. Redistricting & Gerrymandering Cruz and Ferguson claim Democratic states like California, New York, Illinois, and Massachusetts are far more aggressive in gerrymandering than Republican states. They cite statistics showing disproportionate representation in Congress compared to actual vote percentages. Historical Context Cruz recounts his experience as Texas Solicitor General during a similar 2003 redistricting standoff. Legal precedent allows for forcible return of lawmakers to establish quorum. Criticism of Democratic Leaders Governors of Democrat-led states are accused of hypocrisy for criticizing Texas while benefiting from gerrymandered maps. Audio clips and quotes from figures like Governor Pritzker (IL) and Governor Hochul (NY) are used to highlight perceived contradictions. Beto O’Rourke’s Remarks A clip of Beto O’Rourke is played where he advocates for aggressive Democratic redistricting, which Cruz interprets as a call for partisan power grabs. Broader Political Commentary The hosts argue that Democrats are losing favor nationally due to unpopular policies and power-driven tactics. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Sen Adam Schiff's in hot water—he's been accused of corruption and mortgage fraud. The FHFA says he listed both his Maryland and California homes as his “primary residence” to score better loan terms, which could violate federal laws. Now the Justice Department is looking into it, and Schiff says it's all political payback from President Trump, which is just his way of trying to brush off what he did.  Aside from all this, a Democratic whistleblower who worked on the House Intelligence Committee claimed to the FBI that Schiff authorized the leak of classified information in 2017 to undermine Trump during the Russia investigation. In addition, Democrats continue to reference the Epstein case, despite it no longer being a relevant topic of discussion. Their desperation to find anything to use against Trump is evident, but the truth will always triumph over hatred and ignorance. The left is now labeling Trump as a dictator who intends to deploy the National Guard to seize control of every city, which is a gross misrepresentation. In reality, Trump is utilizing the National Guard to combat the rising crime rates in Washington, D.C., a Federal city. Thus, the assertion that Trump can impose such measures on any city is incorrect, as is the public's concern regarding the Democrats' apparent indifference to the increasing crime rates in many urban areas. Lastly, Israel has rejected claims of widespread starvation in Gaza, saying Hamas is spreading misleading information to gain political leverage. A report by COGAT found that many deaths labeled as malnutrition-related were actually due to severe pre-existing medical conditions. The review also noted that Hamas failed to provide identifying details for the deceased, raising doubts about the credibility of their reports. One example cited was a child whose condition was attributed to hunger but was later found to suffer from a genetic disorder and had received treatment in Israel before the war. Newt talks with Governor Greg Abbott of Texas about the special session to vote on redistricting the state. On Tuesday, the state's top three elected officials, Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and House Speaker Dustin Burrows said the Legislature will adjourn its current overtime session this Friday, and the Governor will immediately call another special session. The ongoing political standoff continues, with Democrat lawmakers who have left the state refusing to return to prevent the passage of a new congressional map favoring Republicans. Abbott vows to continue calling special sessions until Democrats return, emphasizing the need for a quorum to conduct legislative business. He highlights the penalties Democrats face for their absence and criticizes their actions as contrary to Texas values. Abbott also addresses the broader political implications, including the impact on future elections and the importance of maintaining Republican control in Congress to support President Trump's agenda.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week, a rejuvenated Scott returned from vacation to sit down with his Lawfare colleagues Benjamin Wittes, Daniel Byman, and Kate Klonick to talk through some of the week's big national security news, including:“Occupational Hazards.” The Israeli government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated its intent to occupy Gaza City, the last segment of Gaza not under Israeli military control, and displace its civilians to “designated safe areas.” In an apparent response to both domestic and international outrage at the plan, Netanyahu later disavowed any intent to annex Gaza—even as he acknowledged calls to do so from within his coalition—and finally laid out a rough Israeli end-goal for Gaza: namely, a non-Israeli governing entity, led by neither Hamas nor the Palestinian Authority, operating under complete Israeli security control. But will this be enough to assuage these concerns? And what does it tell us about where the Gaza conflict may be headed?“The Rake.” The Trump administration has struck a deal with chip manufacturers NVIDIA and AMD, allowing them to export certain high-end (but not frontier model) chips to Chinese companies engaging in AI research, among other relevant activities, so long as they share 15% of the profits with the government. It's a move that has both Democrats and Republicans worried about major power competition with China crying foul, and lawyers raising serious doubts as to its legal viability. What appears to be driving this recent about-face? And what does it say about the trajectory of U.S. policy on AI (and China)?“The War on Drugs. In other words, if Canadians already treated Americans fairly, then why would tariffs have a negative impact on Canada? Michael Davenport, senior economist at Oxford Economics, noted a significant reversal from June, when Canada added 83,000 jobs. “Canada's labor market snapped back to reality in July,” Davenport said. In this case, “reality” hit hard thanks to Trump's tariffs on steel, aluminum, and autos. The Canadian manufacturing sector alone lost 10,000 jobs. In a post on Truth Social, Trump posted a video in which Navarro explained how people such as Alexander Hamilton and Henry Clay have advocated for tariffs throughout the history of the United States. Navarro noted how Hamilton believed that the U.S. “needed tariffs to defend its young industries from British domination.” “Trumpnomics' goal is not only to reduce America's trade deficit, it is to defend American workers and factories against unfair trade practices, while encouraging trillions of dollars in investment in new American plant and equipment,” Navarro says. “The policy is working for America, and no one should be surprised by this.” Navarro continued to explain how Alexander Hamilton was the “original architect of American economic nationalism.” “In his report on manufacturers, Hamilton laid it out clearly,” Navarro continued. “United States needed tariffs to defend its young industries from British domination, and to secure true independence — not just politically, but economically. Hamilton knew that if America relied on foreign powers for manufactured goods, it would always be vulnerable.” “Decades later, Henry Clay carried Hamilton's vision forward,” Navarro continued.
