In this episode, David talks about the fundamentals of leadership such as what's his biggest failure, what traits should a leader have, what is success for him, and many more. Tune in to find out more about David's insights in this latest episode of Peak Performance Selling. PEAK PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS:DAVID: BIGGEST FAILURE?“I've had people ask me, like, what's your biggest failure? And like, I honestly can't remember them because I don't think in those terms, I think of input to output, and was the output something positive or negative? And if it was negative, what is the way to fix this the next time I have this in this input to change that.”DAVID: TRAITS OF A LEADER“As I become a leader at HubSpot, I realized how vital it is to just like, keep pounding the table on the strategy and the mission and the strategy and the mission, and this is what we're doing, and this is how we focus around that. Because I think that's really how you get folks to buy in.”DAVID: WHAT IS SUCCESS?“The context I guess I would give is like, I like being super uncomfortable. And learning and doing new things. And so for me, like, that's kind of my passion. And like, what gives me energy and Success for me is like, getting into places or parts of the organization that are outside of my comfort zone and like making that project successful.” Don't miss out on the previous episode/s with David Barron and watch out for the next ones!Part 1 - THE BARRON'S LEAP: David Barron's Leap From Pharma To Tech, Part 1Part 2 - WHAT IT TAKES: Being Customer Centric And Customer First As An Ideal Salesperson, Part 2Part 3 - TEAM UP, STEP UP! I think that's a huge miss.”DAVID: FEEDBACK SHOULD BE CUSTOMER FIRST“I think we do a really good job of that at HubSpot, and I think it's really important just if you're going to pass that feedback, do it customer first.” Don't miss out on the previous episode/s with David Barron and watch out for the next ones!THE BARRON'S LEAP: David Barron's Leap From Pharma To Tech, Part 1WHAT IT TAKES: Being Customer Centric And Customer First As An Ideal Salesperson, Part 2 You can connect with David and check out his work in the links below:David Barron | HubSpot | HubSpot.com If you're listening to the Peak Performance Selling Podcast, please subscribe, share, and send us your feedback.Jordan Benjamin | MyCoreOs.com | Podcast | Email | Twitter

The COVID-19 crisis created a massive shift in the way Americans think of mental health. For many, the fear of catching a dangerous virus created a level of anxiety that was previously unheard of. As a result, many agencies and employers were forced to adjust, making remote work the norm. Mental health is complex and looks different for each individual. Managers and organizations have had to adjust to this new reality as conversations about mental health became a bigger part of workplace culture. Managers have to ask questions: What steps should you take to adjust? If an employee is requesting time off, or is simply asking for help, what's the process? David Barron is a labor and employment attorney at Cozen O'Connor. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for June 18, 2020 is: conflate • kun-FLAYT • verb 1 a : to bring together : fuse   b : confuse 2 : to combine (things, such as two readings of a text) into a composite whole Examples: "Some wonder if students are conflating a decision to put off school for a year, and maybe take a job, with the more formal process of an actual gap year—a planned experience that has career and academic benefits." — Bill Schackner, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, 11 May 2020 "Given its name, St. Thomas in Houston has on occasion been conflated with St. Thomas in Minnesota, which as one of the nation's most successful Division III programs is now trying to make the jump to NCAA Division I. St. Thomas in Houston has no such aspirations." — David Barron, The Houston Chronicle, 28 Apr. 2020 Did you know? We're not just blowing hot air when we tell you that conflate can actually be traced back to the same roots as the English verb blow. Conflate derives from conflatus, the past participle of the Latin verb conflare ("to blow together, to fuse"), which was formed by combining the prefix com-, meaning "with" or "together," with the Latin verb flare, which means "to blow" and is akin to English's blow. Other descendants of flare in English include afflatus ("a divine imparting of knowledge or power"), inflate, insufflation ("an act of blowing"), and flageolet (a kind of small flute—the flageolet referring to a green kidney bean is unrelated).

As record numbers look to integrate sustainable investment considerations into their portfolios, it comes as no surprise that the world of factor-based investing is not immune. According to a 2018 survey conducted by FTSE Russell, 55% of factor investors are looking to incorporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) company analysis but as yet, there’s been no well-defined blueprint as to how this can be comprehensively achieved. Joining Eliza are Adam Willis and Dave Barron to discuss the ins and outs of factor index construction and how schemes are building their factor portfolios to not only potentially outperform traditional market-cap index trackers but also integrate ESG analysis simultaneously.
