This week we welcome Charlotte Moss. Charlotte, an accomplished DJ and producer based in the UK, has seamlessly transitioned from being a DJ to a highly sought-after producer. Her tracks have received continued support from industry legends such as Jamie Jones, who has prominently featured her music on his Hot Robot radio show. Additionally, she has been supported by Nic Fanculli, Danny Howard, DJ Harvey, JennGetz&Alfie, and Marco Carola, among others.
Effervescent club cuts from one of Southeast Asia's rising DJ stars. In Indonesia, the term santai (relaxed) is more than just an adjective—it's a lifestyle, one endearingly embodied by DITA. The Bandung-born, Bali-rooted DJ's breezy attitude to life is reflected in dreamy, blissful euphoria. DITA's RA Podcast is a window into both her disposition and sound, blending wiggly breakbeat into tweaking acid, Detroit house into Spanish electro, Balearic to '90s house and some grittier club fare, too. Her sets are rooted in a feel-good philosophy that allows her to freely play with energy and mood. Don't just take our word for it: DJ Harvey is a major fan and hand-picked DITA to be a resident at his new club Klymax, nestled within the world-renowned Potato Head Bali, where DITA is also Head of Music. With gigs at everywhere from Panorama Bar (the first Indonesian woman to play) to Rainbow Disco Club and Dekmantel under her belt, the world is now taking notice of DITA's killer groove. A breakout 2025 surely beckons. @dita-putri-widyanti @headstream Read more at ra.co/podcast/959
Dave Seaman - Two By Two (Alican Remix) - Selador Support from Adriatique, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, DJ Harvey, Super-Flu, Jonathan Kaspar, Captain Mustache, Jamie Stevens, AFFKT, Bog, Damon Jee, Animal Trainer, Magit Cacoon, Joyce Muniz, Nicole Moudaber Oh lordee!!! As if Dave's ‘Two By Two' wasn't already humungous enough, hot on the heels of the barnstorming original comes the equally magnificent Alican remix. We said the vocal hook brought to mind Divine's seminal proto-houser ‘Native Love', and we suspect our guest may have felt the same, as there are definitely traces of the trademark early 80s Bobby O production style in this peak time workout. This sizzling slice of 21st century mesmeric electro-disco further showcases our man from Istanbul's wide-ranging talents, as displayed not only on his Selador outing ‘Montroze' las year, but also on recent releases for the likes of Innervisions, Kompakt and Get Physical. Like all the best remixes, it's the perfect wingman to the Original. Get it down ya! Team Selador – Double trouble!

In this episode of Behind The Mic, we checked in with artist, producer and DJ Le Dionisos. Dion puts out brilliant, balearic disco and funk music that is a joy to listen to. Hailing from the Netherlands, Dion studied keys and production at The Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In this episode we discuss his music journey, the ‘positive narcissism' you need to be able to succeed in the music industry and persevere with it, how he fell in love with the medium of DJing and having one of his remixes played by the iconic DJ Harvey. For Dion's mental health, we discuss the challenge he felt transitioning from high-school to university and the choice he made to spend an extra year in high school to prepare for university. We then discuss the ‘hole' he fell into after completing university and figuring out what he wanted to do with his life full-time. We finish by discussing growth, personal development and his outlook on his life now. The Life Of A Sports Mom - Host Shoshana Cook - Guest: DJ Harvey - New Beginning

As broadcast October 8, 2022 with plenty of groove and official blessing. Tonight we present a very special nearly three hour DJ mix done live in 2019 at Rumours in LA from DJ Harvey. Harvey was one of the main proponents of the house sound coming from the US in the 1980's & 90's, and in the decades since has become one of the most sought-after names in groove. It's pretty rare to get a live mix from Harvey that has his official blessing for release, but the early pandemic and lockdown changed all of that. If you're new to the sound, prepare for a true tastemaker set of disco, funk, and house that is usually a bit more slow-go than the kids like to rock. This is serious grown folks' groove.#feelthegravity
True House Stories Podcast with special guests by Lenny Fontana
TRUE HOUSE STORIES W/ BENNY SOTO # 088 - PART 2 Benny Soto quickly learned, and learned from one of the best; the late, great super promoter Rob Fernandez. “The first big thing we did together was Roger Sanchez at Vinyl. I can even remember the date: 2/2/02. I was learning so much—contracts, dealing with managers, hospitality riders, everything.” Soto continued working with Fernandez until his sudden passing in summer of 2015—but at the same time, he was gaining the confidence to branch out on his own. Danny Krivit was an early partner (2002), teaming up with Soto to launch what became the still-vibrant 718 Sessions; another stone-cold vet, DJ Harvey, was an early accomplice as well. From its inception, until its closing, Soto was an integral part of the promotion and bookings team at the now revered, and recently closed, Output in Brooklyn, NY. The dates started coming fast and furious—flash forward to today, and Soto, who currently spends his time promoting shows around NYC and juggling various independent projects, is in the very top tier of NYC's party wranglers. So what's the next step for a guy who's spent the better part of his life in dance clubs? DJ'ing, of course! “I've been going out and listening to DJs for 30 years,” he says, “and after that amount of time, I think you almost have to learn something. You gain a sense of what to do.” But as anyone who has spent time in the DJ community knows, there can sometimes be attitude toward those perceived as usurpers. “Sure, there's been a bit of controversy, like people asking, ‘Oh, so now you're a DJ, too?' I just answer, ‘No. I'm Benny Soto.' I've given my life to music, and this is just another layer of that life.” Nowadays, you can find Soto opening up for superstars or holding it down at after-parties, often spinning back-to-back with his fellow dance-music lifer, Nervous Records label head Mike Weiss. “Very few people have the legacy that Mike does,” he says. “I mean, the Nervous catalog…those were some of the songs that shaped the sound of global club music.” But Soto's got his own musical identity as well. “I love to play music that feels good to me, that matters to me, that say something to me. Danny Tenaglia said the best thing to me: ‘You have to listen, and you have to find the candy.' And that's what I try to do—find music that's special, that can take you to a different space.” Watch his life for Act 3 “The Final Curtain Call"

There's a track on HAAi's upcoming debut album, Baby, We're Ascending, called "Louder Always Better." That kind of sums up her approach right there. (See also: "Biggest Mood Ever.") Since her first record, 2017's "Be Good" her approach to dance music has been to make as dense, overwhelming and uplifting as possible. Much has been made of her background in psychedelic rock, which definitely informs records like the muggy, intense Motorik Voodoo Bush Doof Musik, but it's not the whole story. A better point of reference might be DJ Harvey lost in the Australian desert, but comparisons are beside the point. At this point, HAAi is completely unique. The Australian producer has made quite a name for herself as a DJ in her adopted hometown of London, and while her album shoots off in all directions—from ecstatic rave-pop to sultry stunners—her RA Podcast captures the spark that makes her such a beloved force behind the decks. Weaving powerful techno from artists like Atrip and Piska Power with weirder, adventurous music courtesy of Cocktail Party Effect and Sha Sha Kimbo—plus a few tastes of HAAi's new album—it's an eclectic mix that's as windy and unpredictable as her records. Plus, it ends with classic track by The Cure. That's just good taste.
It's time for a special party mix of Nu Disco gems, new releases, remixes & Classics. Born Harvey Bassett, the world-renowned selector better known as DJ HARVEY needs no formal introduction, to which an attempt to encapsulate the privilege of participating his sets into words would be insufficient. In this episode, the nightlife luminary warmly invites us through the halls of his musical memory, from dancing alone and scantily clad to ABBA’s Dancing Queen, to discussing the legacies of Larry Levan and Freddie Mercury on both his life and spirit.

Willie Graff & Darren Eboli - Ahisma Another Dj Edit By Mr. Turner https://hypeddit.com/track/equz7j Willie Graff & his musical partner Darren Eboli deliver another fantastic 4 tracker on Copenhagen’s Music For Dreams Label. Willie Graff splits his year between DJ residencies in New York and Ibiza (Pacha). In this second outing with studio partner Darren Eboli, the influence is, African, NY clubbing, World mixing Mediterranean and further afield. The duo finds its roots in the past, building a link between the soul of a song and the warmth of a melody then combining them with a contemporary sound. The opener “All Is Bliss” sits at the pinnacle of the underground – A powerful, Balearic, disco influenced club track full of Spanish guitar, handclaps, club synths sounds like it was made for Dj Harvey’s “Mercury Rising” at Pikes in Ibiza. “Ahimsa” is an outstanding track with funky breakbeat, weird Eastern samples, sneaking acid and Kraftwerk like arpeggios. “La Sirena” is a balearic beach styled mid tempo chugger with chopped up breaks, deep sub-bass, Compass Point styled keys, whispering voices saying “Let Your Mind Be Free” . If you are a Cafe Del Mar connoisseur and longing for that sunset moment “Bellatrix” does the trick featuring bits of Spanish Guitar, Flute, Oboe and floating warm pads creating that early 90ties vibe. Another winner from Willie and Darren - and hopefully an album soon

EVERYTHING I’VE HEARD Present BILLY BOGUS as 4th guest mix. - Billy (real name Niccolò Bruni), Pizzico Records' founder, started as a DJ in the mid 90s when he was only 18: he was a squatter and he used to arrange unusual performances with endless rotation of FSOL & Klaus Schulze music, filming everybody with a VHS camera and broadcasting everything in the community, creating peculiar vibes and feelings all around. Today his approach to DJing has the same feeling, also with contemporary dance music. Rare vinyls, mp3s, scratchy CDs, the format doesn’t matter, the central themes are what is important to him: italo disco, slow motion funk, trippy techno, every kind of dance music is like a magic mean to a shiny groove and he aims to spread this energy among the people via his own label, Pizzico. Pizzico was founded in 2007, among the others they have discovered and produced artists such as Jonathan Kusuma (Space System), Ichisan, Discodromo, Kid Who, Sare Havlicek, MA Spaventi and many more. After remixing the legendary band The Units and Dennis Young from Liquid Liquid, Billy’s career as a producer began to grow steadily: singles, remixes, three official albums and a jazzy under the moniker of Strata-Gemma. The word about his work was on everyone's lips, including household names like Laurent Garnier and Dimitri From Paris. His tracks have been regularly played by disco legends like Dj Harvey, Stevie Kotey, Gilles Peterson, Ivan Smagghe and Bill Brewster. - More about Billy Bogus : Discogs : http://www.discogs.com/artist/1456389-Billy-Bogus Soundcloud : https://soundcloud.com/billy-bogus Pizzico Records : https://pizzicorecords.bandcamp.com/ - Tracklist : 01. Beneath the surface of big names, famous faces and extravagant parties there is a wave of disc jockeys and producers who have earnt a wealth of respect from all the right places. Heidi Lawden might be the perfect example. Based in California she has amassed a reputation as a talented selector and party starter having been championed and supported by the likes of Bicep and beyond. Oh, and did we mention she's played a very key and crucial role in the development of a certain DJ Harvey's career. As a selector she digs deep, travelling through the realms of balearic bliss, elegant house, disco and into late night mischief. A party starter who hosts a regular show on Dublab, which is well worth a listen by the way, we highly recommend this one. Recorded live at Sunset Campout earlier this year, this is a treat.

When Enhanced Training Champions (ETC) CEO Tobe Stephens, a North Carolina native, first started his venture 15 years ago in the DMV area, the struggle was REAL. Using his extensive background in fitness and nutrition, Tobe not only strengthens his clients athletic ability, he sets them on a path to developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Heidi Lawden Is Much More Than DJ Harvey's Manager. The dance music "den mother" is more than DJ Harvey's manager. // Running off to London as a teenager meant that Heidi Lawden was hanging at the coolest clubs at an age when most ravers are still dreaming of big nights out from inside their parent's suburban homes. And Heidi hit the capital at just the right time, when the fashion-forward city was about to be overtaken by the acid house phenomenon. "I thought the streets were paved with gold in London. And they were!" the self-proclaimed "den mother" told the Rave Curious Podcast about the club culture that would embrace her as a DJ and promoter during its 90s heyday of Ministry of Sound. That scene also led to her befriending heroes like Larry Levan and Masters at Work, as well as managing DJ Harvey, who she's worked with for over two decades. Heidi dishes about those early days of clubbing as well as the now legendary story of her move with Harvey to LA and the career rebirth that has taken place for both of them over the past 15 years. She also addresses the very real battle of being a DJ versus working behind the scene for one of the world's most in-demand talents, and even spill some secret news about her charge's next project. Check it out.
Felix Dickinson’s story is closely linked with the story of house. He has been playing it (and making it legal to do so via his pre criminal justice act rave orchestration) since day one, has held decade long residencies in Japan and has made it under names ranging from Foolish and Sly to Bastedos. Besides working with labels like Rush Hour and DFA, he also runs his own Cynic Music and has been a key DJ at places like Glastonbury, Garden Festival and Sonar. His style is, generally, to play music from all over the place, but he always manages to mesh them together into some thing fun and coherent. Over the course of 70 odd minutes here he shows off his far ranging taste and looks back as much as forward. Carefully controlled throughout, the set mixes up floor filling house with breezy grooves, chattery Chicago jack and euphoric piano anthems. It’s party starting but tastefully so and once again has you wondering who needs DJ Harvey when you have Felix Dickinson.

Interview in english at http://musicbymarina.tumblr.com/sonns Tracklist : Jonno & Tommo - Made Visible Thomash - Ectoplasma Red Motorbike - White Baris K - 200 (The Asphodells Remix) Seahawks - Deep Star Dive Time Reveals - Let My Body (Permanent Vacation Remix) Dana Rah - Train Ride With You Kassem Mosse - Untitled A3 Frak - Classic Bass Beans & Company - The Go Go Red Axes - Kick Out Of You (Feat. Todays houseguest is the New York Slo-mo (although he'll hate that) producer Slow Hands. Not to be pidgeon-holed by his name he's not all 90bpm's. His edits and remixes seem to track his music interest, touching on tracks that obviously hold a place in his musical past. You certainly couldn't refer to Slow Hands as a predictable producer or even Dj, its apparent from listening to his productions, remix's and Dj sets that this is a man who likes to push the boat out and then when its gone a safe distance blow it to bits with blatant disregard to anti-dynamite fishing laws. He tackles really tough to touch subject matter in his edits such as Led Zeppelin and Sufjan Stephens but he not only does it well he makes them memorable by not relying on the original but more by plundering elements to use as familiar bricks in an entirely new production. Having previously released on Wolf + Lamb Slow Hands is nestled right into the Wolf + Lamb family in New York and has a dedication that a lot of those artists seem to possess, perhaps they encourage each other, or compete with each other, star-sign dependant. He put out an impressive 17 Podcasts last year but this is the first non live output in 6 months and by the sounds of things he's been sitting on some serious golden eggs. His guestmix today is a varied journey of twists and sudden turns, setting the tone wonderfully from the get go with a John Talabot edit. In fact 2/3 of all the tracks in this mix are remix's, but thats neither here nor there. The arrival of Appaloosa – Patchwork (Bostro Pesopeo Remix) is when the tone is really set for what to expect, and that is to not know what to expect next. A real surprise was the inclusion of a Dj Harvey remix of a Canyons track. I've always preferred the Mic Newman version but the Harvey remix seems to sit perfectly in this mix, making me question my earlier convictions. The highlight for me however was the pairing of Jonas Rathsman – Feeling You into Pete Herbert/Golden Fleece – Ivory Waves (Sare Havlicek Remix). Neither track I'd heard before (yikes) but both I instantly nabbed. A lot of Dj's in this style play good music but they should consider the ante upped!

P3 Kultur utvärderar sanningshalten i den gamla dängan Last Night A DJ saved my life!
