A lot has happened in the week since we've been on break, and we were so excited that our mics were hot...literally. (Hence, the distorted sound...sorry about that.) But anyway, we're back at it! This week, we celebrate the fact that Joe Biden is President, Kamala Harris is Vice President, and the White House has been fumigated and is ready for work. We discuss the work that's been put in so far, the Impeachment trial heading to the Senate, and of course, those Presidential Pardons that Trump placed at the last minute. Also, apparently, Trump set up his own office, "The Office of The Former President." .... Is that really a thing? Really? We also discussed the Salt-N-Pepa biopic, and why in the entire hell DJ Spinderella was left out of putting her input in. Is it too personal, or is it just business? Plus, colorism in Hip-Hop (thanks a lot, Danileigh), a reality TV chef in jail on suspiction of murdering her foster child, and a fun conversation on love languages, inspired by Saweetie's revelation that she knew that her man loved her when he gave her the last piece of chicken. (Side note: We wonder what piece of chicken it was. Was it a wing? Was it the big breast? The world may never know.) Finally, we reflect on the one year anniversary of the passing of NBA great Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and the seven other beautiful souls lost on that day. We talk about his impact on the world and why the rest of the year was complete trash after that. #LongLiveMamba #LongLiveMambacita
Trey Songz got arrested at the AFC Championship for allegedly not wearing a mask. There is something off about that. IJS! DJ Spinderella was not happy with the way she was portrayed in the Salt-N-Pepa biopic on Lifetime. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://www.iheartpodcastnetwork.com
Rendimos tributo a Tom Stevens, bajista de The Long Ryders, 64 años. This week we ask who would win in a fight: Thurston Moore or Bobby Gillespie (the answer is probably no one but would be embarrassing to watch). John & Joseph pick through their Discover Weekly playlists, our birthdays are the hard-done-by DJ Spinderella and the late, great Beastie Boy MCA. We discuss American Bandstand, the pop TV show that started them all and Metallica curating the biggest vanity project in history. Finally, the guys try and work around the dichotomy of Brian Eno, one of music's most interesting figures and the time-stopping boredom of listening to his biggest fans.

Reports have swirled for years that Spinderella has had issues with her Salt-N-Pepa groupmates. But now the DJ has taken things further and filed a lawsuit against Salt, whose real name is Cheryl James, and Pepa, whose real name is Sandra Denton. Salt, Spinderella, Pepa She’s accusing Salt-N-Pepa of making her miss out on millions of dollars. She said the alleged scam dates back to 1999 when the Best of album was released. She claims that was told she’d get one-third of the royalties and got a call that the exact amount would be $125K. She said she never saw that money. But it didn’t end there. She alleges that she was also left out of Salt-N-Pepa’s show on VH1. She said she was also promised a third of group’s fee for that show as well. While she was featured on a few episodes, she said she didn’t get what she was promised. To make matters worse, she said she didn’t get a dime of the group’s epic 2018 Billboard Music Awards performance. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
