In this episode CDM administrator David Nakhla and producer Trish Duggan sit down with OPC missionary Heero Hacquebord, MTW Ukraine country director, Doug Shepherd and L'viv Crates for Ukraine warehouse manager Ruslan. This devastating war continues and the need is greater than it's ever been. Heero summarizes the Crates for Ukraine program's essentialness: "Crates is one way for us to show people we are not here to take advantage of them. Our church is not here to get people's money, you know, to brainwash their kids or, you know, whatever the stereotypes may be. But we are really here to serve. People see the Protestant church, or our church, in this particular case and in many ways, much more so than the Orthodox Church. Some of the more traditional churches in Ukraine stepping up in the face of this horrible war in Ukraine and saying, hey, you know what the church is about, loving people, showing Christ's love and helping to meet people's needs. And so people begin to see us in a different light."Find more detailed information about Crates for UkraineItems for prayer: https://www.cratesforukraine.com/ Scroll down to the green box You can find all of our episodes at thereformeddeacon.org. On this episode, join the OG trio of Ed, Dennis, and Kate as we discuss the next batch of Gundam Wing episodes, 26-30. That's right folks, we're back in the After Colony era. The downside for this batch (or upside in the shorter podcast length) is that there are two recap episode covering the first half of the series. We discuss things like Heero's newly awakened Newtype powers, how often the Wing Gundam is sunk into the ocean, Sally & Noin's chemistry, how fast can a kingdom be rebuilt, and the introduction to Dorothy Catalonia. 0:00:00 Intro & Watchlist 0:22:26 Some Anime News 0:39:49 E26 - The Eternal Flame of the Shooting Stars 0:56:07 E27 & E28 Recap Episodes 1:05:14 E29 - The Heroine of the Battlefield 1:25:59 E30 - The Reunion With Relena 1:43:40 Voice, Final Thoughts, & Kanpai Support the show by either donating to our Ko-Fi link below, or by purchasing a copy of Gundam Wing Part 2 on Blu-ray through our Amazon affiliate link: https://amzn.to/42JHHDm Dennis: @ichnob | Ed: @ippennokuinashi | Kate: @TaikoChan Website | Email | Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | RSS | Ko-Fi

Mehrere Tausend pro Jahr wolle man mittelfristig umbauen.

The final battle for Earth's survival. The final ride of the Old Weirdos. The final duel between Heero and Zechs (finally). There are many ostensibly final things in this episode, because it is the final episode of Gundam Wing! Can the show's writers stick the landing on this dazzling and confusing floor routine? Will our heroic space-faring psychos survive to see a world at total peace? Is “The Final Victor” RAD… or is it BAD?
Treize versus Wu Fei! Quatre versus Dorothy! It's the back-to-back brawls that this series has been building to all along, apparently! Meanwhile, Duo smuggles the Weirdos to the location of their heroic atonement, and Heero finally, at long last, tries a little tenderness with Relena before speeding off for the ultimate(?) showdown with Zechs. Will a new world emerge from the ashes of all this conflict and monologuing? Is “Takeoff into Confusion” RAD… or is it BAD?
The consolidated forces of Earth finally quit with the bawlin' and make with the brawlin'! With Hilde's stolen data disk in hand and Hilde presumably in a coma somewhere, Heero jacks a White Fang carrier and attempts to rescue Relena from captivity while pretending he totally doesn't care that she is in captivity. Milliardo decides to reject Treize's offer to settle this whole thing with a duel and instead invites Treize to duel the business end of Libra's gigantic beam cannon. Treize is saved in a timely fashion by a highly unlikely figure from his not-too-distant past. Can justice move as quickly as Lady Une coming off an extended hospital stay? Is “Milliardo's Decision” RAD… or is it BAD?
2021 is about to leave us like Heero leaving the Sanc Kingdom the minute Relena takes her eyes off him, but before we go, your hosts are here to talk religion, make fun of Treize, and talk disastrous hookups—and we'll never be out of disastrous hookups! We're finally introduced to the dark and edgy outer senshi Gundam Epyon, which Treize has lovingly stashed away in a dark creepy mansion complete with his secret shrine dedicated to Heero Yuy figurines and photographs. Just kidding! He doesn't have a shrine! But he does have a lot of Feelings about Heero Yuy which he can't wait to share with us in a very long monologue, so long that we rise up like Nietzsche to declare that God--I mean Treize--is dead and Heero climbs into a deathtrap mobile suit just to get him to shut up. Come for token straight (literally) woman Cathy sharing her 1xR and 4x9 feelings and stay for Caitlin walking us through the October 1995 issue of Puff Magazine, which featured Gundam Wing trivia, fanart, doujinshi circles, and an advertisement for a Dial Fun Club. Happy New Year from your friends at Untitled Tallgeese Pod!
Zechs and Heero meet again amid the ruins of the Sanc Kingdom. With their homicidal suits at the helm and no bad guys around to fight, they do the only logical thing: Fight each other! With a PR victory in hand, a surprisingly effective Duke Dermail tempts Relena with power and a brand new title. Tsuborov and a bunch of random colonists become casualties of Wu Fei's quest to define integrity, and yet another ragtag band of space revolutionaries appears on the board. Oh great! Another faction with dubious intent! Just what this story needed! Is “Zero vs. Epyon” RAD... or is it BAD?
From the most secret depths of the Luxembourg Buffalo Wild Wings, Treize emerges to rain maximum Treiziness all over Heero's day. Zechs loses a Tallgeese but gains a sentient, mind-warping machine of ultimate war. Howard stays high. Can destiny's winners be the losers but also the not-losing winners? Is “And Its Name is Epyon” RAD… or is it BAD?
We're still at Relena's School for Girls (and Two Boys!) Who Want to Craft Peace, except one girl came out here to have a good time and her idea of a good time is attacking and getting attacked. Dorothy doesn't have time for your thoughts on gender essentialism and pacifism or the battle between Bad Oz and Treize Oz. She's just here to stab Heero in a fencing duel and drive Relena straight into the middle of a mobile suit battle! Honestly, big mood. And speaking of moods, we delve deep into every one of the many vibes Duo is putting out in episode 32, from "the only pilot in a healthy heterosexual relationship with someone who is not his sister" to "divorced dad in the streets, sexy goth Gundam in the sheets" to killing Trant Clark for being too online. One day Mike Flanagan will take all of the Zero System episodes from this series and turn them into a limited-run Netflix horror show, where the Zero System is a symbol for capitalism (probably) and Duo will finally be the Hot Priest Character we all knew he could be. But for the time being, you'll just have to stick with us as we pour over this week's artifact: the manga prequel Episode Zero, which explains why you keep hearing about the Maxwell Church, Meiran, and Midi Une.
A golden Lincoln Towncar full of crazy rolls into Relena's life, threatening her peace initiative and her top spot as chief deliverer of unsettling line reads. Heero and Quatre crash-land back in The Sovereign Republic of East Texas without much of a plan beyond playing with dogs and getting captured. Noin springs Sally Po from the clutches of OZ, and they briefly become the baddest duo in the Earth Sphere. Dorothy wants everyone to hurry up and start a war, but the Secret Court wants to hurry up and answer one question: Is “The Heroine of the Battlefield” RAD… or is it BAD?
New timeline, new series! It's the same, but different! You'll see what I mean! Join us as we begin to tackle the beloved 90s darling Gundam Wing! You remember it! The show with the boys! Is it good? Only one way to find out... Watching - New Mobile Report Gundam Wing Episodes 1-3 Featuring - Max | Julia | Jared Check out our other stuff! - Pod of Greed | Slappers Only Twitter Discord Noise Space
,It's Wing Zero versus Angry Heero in a battle that will determine the future of Quatre's sanity! Meanwhile, Tubarov launches a lunar mutiny. Trowa's exploding suit launches him into space. Treize turns in his resignation from the Romafeller Foundation. Lady Une receives an entirely different type of professional separation. The Secret Earth Sphere Kourt Alliance is gainfully employed to answer one question: Is “Quatre vs. Heero” RAD… or is it BAD?
Duo throws a duffel bag at a stranger's face after she harasses him at an airport. The stranger then abandons her oaths, sacrifices her career and possibly her life to make sure Duo gets to attack a high-security OZ facility and presumably kill everyone inside it. Such is the charisma of the god of death, which Duo isn't, but apparently once was and might possibly be again someday if he can get out of pilot jail with Heero and Wu Fei. Also, Zechs attends a meeting. Is “Duo, the God of Death Once Again” RAD… or is it BAD?
Heero dumps ol' busted-up Duo at the nearest colony and takes off to break stuff on the moon. The Consortium of Old Weirdos continues work on two slick new mobile suits, while Major Sally and the Maganac Corps have a fateful meeting on the way to dealing with Quatre's gundam. Good'une makes the case for a robust arms program while Bad'une recruits a familiar new pilot. It's all about deterrence theory, but that can't deter the Secret Earth Sphere Court from answering one key question: Is “The Lunar Base Infiltration” RAD… or is it BAD?
Zechs awakens to the shocking news that he is now best bros with Howard, the chillest dude in the Earth Sphere. Lady Une suffers an off-screen psychotic break that causes her to be nice half the time. Two gundams get an arm shot off, and Heero decides not to kill Duo (yet). It'll take more than a Taurus suit's crappy targeting software to spot the answer to our question: Is “Assault on Barge” RAD… or is it BAD?
Thunda on the Tundra! It's Zechs versus Heero: The Rematch, and the result promises to be just as inconclusive! Will Zechs finally offload his Heero-related baggage? Will Relena shout them into a peaceful resolution? Will Trowa be completely over it all? Is “The Sorrowful Battle” RAD…or is it BAD?
In Gundam Wing's most realistic episode to date, Relena cops some boss duds and infiltrates a gathering of rich, inbred oligarchs who have been orchestrating wars in order to cement their own wealth and power! It's practically a documentary! Meanwhile, Zechs does sneaky stuff at the office! Heero continues to generously offer Field Marshall Noventa's family the opportunity to shoot him, but they'd rather have answers to the Earth Sphere's most salient question: Is “The Order to Destroy 01” RAD… or is it BAD?
It's a bird, it's a plane, it's—Quatre in Wing Zero threatening to blow up a colony! Trowa might be horrified, but we're delighted, by the artistic flair and horror movie vibes on display anyway. Caitlin reveals that she's been moonlighting as the strategist for all the Gundam pilots; too bad no one has been getting her transmissions from the Lunar Base—except for Duo, who gives us all the fanservice we could possibly ask for in these last two episodes, from getting beat up to giving moving political speeches to finally getting his government assigned female love interest in Hilde. We recount in detail how Wufei definitely kissed Duo to shut him up and save oxygen, contemplate how Oz predates fake news, tear out our hair over Heero's deadpan sense of humor, and get into our very millennial concerns of burnout and being told to die for your job, because space terrorist is a profession and this is definitely not projection, okay? Lastly, our fandom artifact is something near and dear to the hearts of all Toonami fans: the trailer for Gundam Wing's debut on American airwaves and the promo video "Space is the Place."
Episode Notes (for iTunes/site) OZ scoops up the wreckage of Heero’s gundam. Treize stomps on the wreckage of Lady Une’s heart. Agent Relena crashes a party dressed in her finest, but she’d rather be dressed in the blood of her enemies. The Maganacs finally get to stunt all over some bad guys, and the Alliance Secret Podcast Court gets to stunt all over the essential legal question of our age: Is “The Whereabouts of Happiness” RAD... or is it BAD?
Lady Une, distracted by a giant PowerPoint! The Alliance, distracted by getting its ass kicked! The Murder Boys, distracted by a mission to destroy OZ’s AI-powered space suit! Gundam-01, distracted by getting blown up! Is “Heero, Distracted by Defeat” RAD... or is it BAD?
Zechs returns home with Tallgeese, a wildly powerful proto-gundam with a troubling record of injuring its pilots! Duo returns to the hard court with Heero, a wildly dunktastic power forward with a troubling history of killing the occasional classmate! But even mopey Wu Fei and stalkin’-ass Relena can’t deter the court from diving headlong into judicial truth. Is “Portrait of a Ruined Country” RAD... or is it BAD?
Zechs lays siege to Luxembourg and takes revenge on a shouty officer guy from his past! Heero saves 300 square kilometers from nuclear devastation AND gets a new stalker! The Earthsphere Alliance Secret Court tackles yet another episode of Gundam Wing, and this time there is no dueling code! Is “The Treize Assassination” GOOD... or is it GARBAGE?
Release your songbirds and have your friends visualize you in a fabulous blue dress! It’s party time at Gundam Prep, and this party don’t stop ‘til there are at least a few civilian casualties! Lady Une harshes Heero’s good time with a mobile suit attack, a throwing knife harshes Trowa’s face, but nothing can harsh the pursuit of an answer: Is “Party Night” RAD... or is it BAD?
Today we follow the lives and loves of average young adults on a college campus through Gundam Wing episodes 19 and 20: Zechs Merquise has graduated from Earth High School and plans to shed his emo mask boy image with a total reinvention when he starts at Space University. He studies Mobile Suits in Classical Japanese Literature with eccentric Prof. Howard. Professor Lady Une (do NOT call her “Lady” or, worse, “Mrs. Une”) is offering her famous course on Military Propaganda this semester and everyone at S.U. is enrolled. For her advanced students, she is also teaching a seminar on The Psychology of Fascism, but her senior pet Nichol is beginning to notice that some days she's her usual hard-ass self and sometimes she's like “Oh, I'll give you an A+ just because you tried.” Wufei, however, was earning every bit of his A+ on the “Attacking Barge” assignment, before crashing and burning on the final. Meanwhile, Duo is struggling at S.U. because he's so good-looking no one takes him seriously; everyone treats him like a dumb baka! He can't enroll in Public Executions 101 and they made him take The Aesthetics of Getting Your Ass Beat twice! His casual hook-up Heero is excelling in The Biology of Machines and spending a lot of time with Trowa, the T.A. for Prof. Mercurius's Chinese Literature Through Idioms course. In Advanced Fandom Artifact Archaeology, we dust off Super Robot Wars and other Gundam games to problematize the question of “Who would smash who?” versus “Who would smooch who?” Surprise, we don't actually answer anything—that's academics for you! Bam!
The mysterious truth behind Relena’s whole weird deal is 34% revealed, costing her a father but gaining her a creepy old guy and a ride to the airport. Heero has a new mission. Duo has a new bro. Screw on your unsettling cyborg parts and prepare to ride the info dump! The armor-plated fancy lads are back in gear, and so is this mission of cosmic critique! Is “Relena’s Secret” RAD... or is it BAD?
Like your favorite danmei drama, this episode is full of death and rebirth: Zechs Merquise dies and is reborn as Milliardo Peacecraft, Heero is reborn as transfer student Duo Maxwell, and this podcast is reborn as Lagrange Colony Trap House as we skeptically evaluate the colony's response to Lady Une's political machinations. Have you missed us talking about Lady Une? Well, worry not, because for the next few episodes, we can't shut up about Lady Une, how she performs femininity in her ambassador role, if she's lost her mind, and whether or not it's all a tribute to Utena/Rose of Versailles/Hitchcock. Quatre self-destructs in an attempt to vie for our attention, but we like Romefeller and Treize are fully occupied with the dilemma of the mobile dolls and what they mean for the agency of human pilots. Sorry Quatre! Maybe in your next life, you'll be reborn as the main character, the way your character was intended. Our fandom artifact for this episode is a deeper dive into the speech Heero "Definitely Duo Maxwell" Yuy gives at the end of episode 18, a transcript of which is available at https://gwepisode50.tumblr.com/post/121506858735/heeros-brutally-honest-speech.
Gundam Wing’s writers roll out an episode title that is certifiably metal af! Heero stunts on horseback! The noble quest for clarity takes our courtroom warriors from the depths of the ocean to a super-awkward birthday party and to all the roadside circuses and rich-boy picnics in between! Will Zechs and his gang of lovable oafs scam their way to the powerful robo-treasure napping on the floor of the sea? Will Relena unravel the mystery of the handsome stranger at her prep school who would rather kill her than go to her boring-ass party? How many episodes will it take for Judge Josh to learn the names of all the Handsome Murder Boys? Is Episode 2, “The Gundam Deathscythe,” RAD… or is it BAD?
The final stop in our apology roadtrip is Antarctica, where Zechs has planned a mobile suit battle that will ultimately end up merging Heero with Gundam Heavyarms and triggering the Second Impact. Wait, sorry, wrong series! We give props to Trowa for his emotional labor, Treize doesn't actively kill a metaphorical baby but it's a close shave, and Relena commits a federal mail crime-- but it's all in service of creating a better future for Heero. And while GW's lasting legacy should be how the Antarctica duel actually gives us characterization through piloting styles, it probably remains most well-known for its outrageous promo art, which is this episode's fandom artifact. Check out our socials next week for some examples!
In Episodes 13 and 14 of Gundam Wing, it's all eyes on Trowa in the center of the ring just like a circus he's about to blow up. Baby, he's a put-on-a-show kind of girl, so he's going to do some terrorism and self-destruct. Luckily, Catherine punches him in the face, as all of us wish to do to all Gundam pilots. Sunrise wastes some great goggle-wearing designs on one-off characters who exist only to allow Zechs to claim ethical superiority. The podcasters wonder if all anime is fascist—wow, @ past us, that's a little extreme, let's calm down. But we toss aside our serious analysis of politics to get to what's really important: World Apology Tour Featuring Heero and Trowa. They spent all that time alone on the road together—what did they do—did they accidentally brush hands—did they keep glancing at each other but missing when the other one looks back—we become feverish with possibilities. Heero apologizes to a Relena clone while Relena herself gets a fashion upgrade and yells at some old men. For our fandom artifact, we look at a map of the Gundam pilots movements for the first 17 episodes, bringing new meaning to the phrase “Trowa the bloody clown.” The map is available with translation and color coding courtesy of GW Episode 50, available online at https://gwepisode50.tumblr.com/post/128770106040/gundam-wing-world-map-episodes-1-17.
FEBRUARY BABY!!! We kick off the worst month with a bang. A talk about the best decade for pop music leads into the newest big anime to hit Netflix; Demon Slayer. Shanda is caught in the eternal Hades loop and Mike has finished 13 Sentinels and we're both stuck with the same problem - we need something to play. We also discuss Gundam Wing, the Gundam franchise and how toxic and shitty Heero Yuy is.
OZ begins to conquer Alliance-held countries on today's episodes of Gundam Wing, leading Caitlin, Kat, Mallory, and Cathy to ask the hard-hitting questions: Are Trieze and Zechs having sex? If so, how serious are they? We discuss Zechs's devoted underlings, including poor Otto who dies in the unstable Tallgeese—is that why we named our podcast after it?! Duo and Heero briefly star in a sports anime, The Basketball That Heeroko Plays, and we relaunch our campaign to make sure Wufei gets shipped with everyone, starting with a romantic coffee date with Trowa. Then the three podcast Sort-of-Catherines reckon with the show's Catherine as an uncanny shadow form of ourselves. Finally, we all come to understand the true heart of OZ thanks to… the black plague? Sorry, Lady Une, read up on feudalism next time. For our fandom artifact, we relive the melodious prose of Animerica magazine c. April 2000 and discover a quote that unlocks all the secrets of Gundam Wing's gender relations. For listeners who want to follow along, most of the Animerica Gundam Wing issue is available online at https://www.animenostalgiabomb.com/mobile-suit-gundam-wing-castle-of-cagliostro-trigun-animerica-april-2000/, thanks to Anime Nostalgia Bomb.
Pacifism is, like, so last episode of Gundam Wing as Caitlin, Kat, Mallory, and Cathy make like Heero and carve up a plane full of well-meaning but nonsensical plot points. Join us as we fail to explain why Wufei and Treize can communicate seemingly through foghorns and crossed swords, if Treize is sexist, classist, or both (definitely both), where Zechs got that beautiful engraved ivory pistol, and how to wake you or your local Gundam pilot from a failure coma. And in our fandom artifact section, Caitlin shares some stories from the all-seme Duo-focused doujinshi collection "Phallus Sex Symbol." We may not know what the Soul of OZ is, but we definitely know that seme Duo tops Rashid and is taller than any man in the world. (Cathy is sorry for her audio in the first ten minutes and promises to stop broadcasting from a mobile suit at the bottom of the ocean.)
In this episode, Caitlin, Kat, Mallory, and Cathy get fully on board with Relena's groupies as Relena bravely faces down Lady Une's exploding makeup compact, OZ mobile suits descending on her school, and one of at least three attempts by Heero Yuy to kill her. We take a detour into the mystery of how the characters were named, unintentionally kill the whole circus industry like the millennials we are, intentionally attempt to kill Quatre with space tuberculosis, and discuss the romantic implications of telling someone you want to be "attacked." Finally, have you ever wondered why Heero's eyes were specifically described as "Prussian blue" or why we know Treize is "Aryan?" Tune in for our fandom artifact section where we discuss the official Sunrise character profiles and what they did or didn't tell us.
Welcome to Mechinations Flashback, a side project dedicated to spotlighting diverse voices within the greater mecha community. We by no means have the definitive “take” on anything we’ve covered and therefore want to reexamine past shows by talking with a variety of insightful critics and creators. Hello and Welcome to Radio Meteor, the podcast where I watch an episode of 90’s anime Gundam Wing and ramble about it because it’s 2019 and the kids are fighting for their rights. In this episode, Relena and Wufei are utterly pointless, Une pulls out all the stops, but Noin steals the show with a mic drop. The closing music is 'Last Train to Mars' by Dan Lebowitz and the word of the episode is 'damashii'.
After a completely unknown period of months, the boys reach the halfway mark of season 1 of Gundam Wing. Trowa laughs out loud at Heero's heartfelt jokes, Wufei feigns character development to appease Sally Po, and Zechs almost realizes that war is bad but then throws both time and Noin under the bus. If you go to the circus and see a weapon of war, please don't just stand there. Start of Discussion Timecode- 15:40 --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/mechinations/support

Welcome to Radio Meteor, a podcast where I watch an episode of 90's anime Gundam Wing and ramble about it because who doesn't look at the news these days and not want to fling themselves into the cold void of space.
