In the realm of human connection, few topics captivate us quite like love. It's a melting pot of desire, vulnerability, and the profound yearning to be truly seen and understood by another. Yet despite love's universal allure, the path to cultivating deeply fulfilling bonds is often obscured by unspoken expectations, unresolved patterns, and the echoes of past wounds.Mark Groves, a Human Connection Specialist and founder of Create the Love, joins Dr Scott to explore the complexities of connection – from the dizzying heights of passion to the depths of rupture and repair.Together, they dive into the paradigm of "liberated love" – a conscious and intentional approach to using our relationships as catalysts for personal growth and expanded freedom. We often find ourselves at the end of our rope, burnt out in our work or a relationship, usually citing some game ending event or circumstance. When in reality, this was building up for a long time. I'm still pondering insights from my conversation with Mark Groves, Human Connection Specialist and founder of Create the Love. He's host of the Mark Groves Podcast and co-author of a new book, Liberated Love: Release Codependent Patterns and Create the Love You Desire. He spoke to relational failure and “Death by a thousand cuts. That most relationships die from a thousand little disconnects that ultimately develop a great chasm.” This resonated with me from my own story and stories from so many others, and my experience that all the little things we think we should endure, that we “shouldn't sweat the small stuff” in essence, fails us. You are in a variety of relationships. How liberated do you feel? How free to be yourself and think and speak freely do you feel? Especially in your closest relationships. My experience in my own life and in walking closely with so many others is we come together and morph to fit and please each other, and continue a cycle of morphing for the length of the relationship. If we can handle it. And often we can't, which is why we see so many relationships end, or die and linger together for decades. He's host of the Mark Groves Podcast and co-author of a new book, Liberated Love: Release Codependent Patterns and Create the Love You Desire. He has an Instagram of over one million followers that he just discontinued because he felt the platform itself is not conducive to health. It depicts Mark's devotion to the heart. To love. I start our talk off, asking him what, at a high level, he is guiding us to be liberated from. He started off with being liberated from patterns of relationships we inherited. We go from here to talk through six steps he lays out to help us, liberate our love. Got a comment or question about an episode? Want to ask a question about your drive? Email me. Hey Heal Squad! Welcome back to part 2 of our interview with Human Connection Specialist, Mark Groves. As we continue to discuss the complex nature of relationships Mark shares fascinating dynamics of groupthink and cancel culture, shedding light on the fear of social exile that often influences our behavior. We discuss the dangers of dating for potential and how it can cause us to lose sight of our own growth and aspirations. Offering invaluable advice, Mark guides us through the navigation of dealbreakers in relationships and provides practical strategies for addressing issues head-on. Mark helps us understand the liberating truth that separation can sometimes be the best choice for a relationship. Mark reminds us that the wisdom shared throughout his book ‘Liberated Love' is applicable not only to romantic relationships but also to all other connections in our lives, and truly will be the catalyst to changing your life. Happy Monday Heal Squad! Today we are welcoming back Human Connection Specialist, Mark Groves, and we are discussing the inspiration behind ‘Liberated Love', the new book he co-authored with his wife, Kylie. In our conversation we explore the origins of codependency and how it manifests in our relationships. We also explore the connection between our childhood experiences and how they affect the way we navigate relationships in adulthood. Mark helps us gain a better understanding of attachment styles and their impact on our connections with others, interactions, emotional availability, and overall relationship satisfaction. Mark reminds us that we are born in relationships, we are wounded in relationships, we heal in relationships: We need relationships. Whether you seek to enhance your current relationship or aspire to cultivate healthier connections in the future, this episode is a must-listen. Make sure to come back tomorrow for part two of our conversation with Mark Groves where we discuss how our body reacts to abandonment, navigating dealbreakers in relationships, and the value of people pleasers. Healers & Heal-Liners All relationships end because they failed to have very clear and accurate agreements at the beginning Context creates compassion Your trigger is a radar to recognize the pattern that led to pain. The opposite of codependence isn't overt individuation Honoring liberated love means honoring each person's paths as their own Any subordinate group needs to learn the needs and nuances of a dominant group Learn More About Mark Groves: Pre-Order ‘Liberated Love': https://read.macmillan.com/lp/liberated-love Mark Grove's Websites: https://markgroves.com/ & https://createthelove.com/ Mark Groves Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/createthelove/ HEAL SQUAD SOCIALS IG: https://www.instagram.com/healsquad/ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@healsquadxmaria HEAL SQUAD RESOURCES: Heal Squad Website: https://www.healsquad.com/ Maria Menounos Website: https://www.mariamenounos.com My Curated Macy's Page: Shop my Macy's Wishlist OUAI: https://theouai.com/ use promo code: HEALSQUAD for 15% off Just Thrive: https://justthrivehealth.com and use promo code: HEALSQUAD for 20% off your first 90-day bottle of Just Calm and Just Thrive Probiotic Wonderful Pistachios: http://www.wonderfulpistachios.com/ ABOUT MARIA MENOUNOS: Emmy Award-winning journalist, TV personality, actress, 2x NYT best-selling author, former pro-wrestler and brain tumor survivor, Maria Menounos' passion is to see others heal and to get better in all areas of life. [01:00] Authenticity Will Be Your Best Path To Find Healing on Your Health Journey When are you pretending to be someone you're not? Whenever you pretend to be someone else, you're telling yourself that you're not enough. Authenticity is one of the most significant paths to healing. You can only heal yourself by being aligned. [09:10] Value Is Placed On Your Relationship Status - It's Time To Change The Status Quo In society, your value is placed on your relationship status. People ask why you're single. They ask when you're getting engaged. When you're engaged, they ask when you will get married. If you get divorced, then people think that means you failed. Well, one of the greatest gifts we can give is recognizing the value of goodbyes. Sometimes, the most loving thing you can do is leave. After three months of engagement, Mark left his relationship. [17:00] Stress and High Conflict Relationships Are Creating Poor Health High conflict couples have higher amounts of leaky gut. There's an inflammatory process that occurs when we're dysregulated. When you avoid chaos on the outside, you internalize it. If you're anxious about something, it can lead to a sick stomach. The journey of relationships is teaching us how incredibly wise we are. [22:10] Are You Going To A Job That You Hate? Stop Doing Things You Don't Love Most heart attacks happen on Monday morning between 8 am and 9 am. Your body gives many warnings; it's normal to live through those warnings. When we perpetually do things we don't love, it sends the message that we don't believe in ourselves. If you want to find what matters to you, then find what breaks your heart. After Mark's relationship ended, he felt so connected to himself. However, he was judged by everyone for it. [27:45] Please Avoid Losing Yourself In Your Relationships When a relationship ends, you'll hear people say, “they took a part of me.” In society, we are taught that people complete us. Also, it's normal to give up everything for love. However, if you lose your relationship, you end up losing yourself. [39:40] Why You Shouldn't Feel Guilty About Expressing Boundaries When you are afraid to express a boundary, it comes from a beautiful place. If you don't want to communicate your boundaries, most likely, you are trying to protect other people from experiencing feelings. When Mark quit drinking, he feared what other people would think of him at weddings, bachelor parties, and guys trips. However, Mark had gone to his first wedding sober and had the time of his life. If you're not expressing boundaries, you are making other people's feelings more important than your own. [47:00] Allow Other People To Be Disappointed Because Boundaries Will Preserve Your Wholeness Allow other people to be disappointed. Don't try and save people from disappointment, and don't let their disappointment correlate to how you feel about yourself. Boundaries will preserve wholeness. When you declare a boundary, you have your own back. [57:40] Take The Time To Learn About Love Love is a verb. If we make withdrawals from our love accounts, we can also make deposits. Great relationships don't just come to people; they are created through behaviors. We need to take the time to learn love, and everyone can learn it. AND MUCH MORE! In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, we sit down with Mark Groves to discuss an array of helpful practices. Mark is a Human Connection Specialist, cofounder of the “Do You Mine'd” App, host of the Mark Groves Podcast, and prolific speaker, writer, and creator. After a few different career moves, Mark found his passion for uncovering why people do what they do and the psychology of connection and behavior. You know, what makes us tick! This episode was first recorded during the CURED Elevation Challenge when Mark sat down with the community to share his thoughts regarding conscious styles of communicating and cultivating relationships; however the material covered can be applied to every aspect of our lives. Many of us have asked ourselves, “What does it actually take to build the life of our dreams?” Although every attempt to answer this question will certainly be nuanced and layered, Mark's insights on meaningful connection, manifestation, and aligned action provide a roadmap. Tune in for more! “If you don't believe something is possible, you will never create it because you would rather be right than risky.” – Mark Groves Key Highlights What it means to cultivate a conscious relationship; Why we don't need to be completely healed before entering into a meaningful relationship; Why our relationship with Self predicts our relationships with significant others; How to identify repetitive patterns in relationships and learn to transcend them through self-reflection and consistent action; How we're getting it wrong with “manifestation”, and what it actually means to create the life of our dreams; Why we must first commit ourselves to our own evolution, before seeking to change or “fix” others; How to take the ultimate leap of faith in life and learn to trust your unique path, even when you can't see where it leads. Human Connection Specialist, podcast host and Create The Love founder Mark Groves, joined Caggie in Season 3 of Saturn Returns. This episode struck a chord with many of you, and so we have brought him back to share more of his wisdom! The previous episode covered Love Languages and the anxious attachment dance and Caggie explains how this was a pivotal conversation in finding the partner she has now. Mark also explains why we pursue unavailable people, how to handle rejection, the roles we play out in relationships, how we can show up more fully and in true Saturnian form, how to take more responsibility for ourselves and our patterns. Ultimately, how the level of honesty and intimacy we can reach in partnership is a direct reflection of the honesty and intimacy we can reach in ourselves. Human Connection Specialist, podcast host and Create The Love founder Mark Groves, is back on Saturn Returns! His last episode was so well loved that Caggie has invited Mark back onto the podcast for another enriching conversation about love and relationships. The full episode will be available to listen to tomorrow, however, to give you an insight into the full conversation, this playful ‘moment' explores the subconscious programming that is often at play in relationships, that may stem from childhood. Also, how resentment in a relationship can slowly build when we don't share our truth. The full episode explores themes such as: the pursuit of unavailability; vulnerability and healing patterns; victimhood and victim mentality and why we should take ownership and responsibility for what happens to us as well as how we can more fully show up in our partnerships. Mark Groves is a Human Connection Specialist — which is basically just a fancy way of saying he is an emotional translator, writer, speaker and coach. Mark is the founder of Create the Love, Create the Love Cards and co-founder of Mine'd, the world's first emotional network. His purpose is to help individuals step into their most authentic, effective, loving selves by way of a little bit of tough love and no-BS relationship guidance. On today's episode, Mark shares the journey of his awakening that finally caused him to take a step back and realize that history was repeating itself. The world was falling into propaganda from the media and government. He stopped to ask questions and felt the huge pushback from it but this only propelled him to be a voice of truth. Listen in till the end. This could be the inspiration you need. IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL LEARN: 07:14 When to speak up against the craziness 32:05 How to deal with pushback from the public 47:42 Leaving pharma to get into relationship development 53:28 How to break unhealthy patterns in relationships 1:01:47 Take this one thing away with you

Authentic human connection is one of our basic needs, but it's not always easy to find. Today's episode will change how you think of human connection. The post CREATE AUTHENTIC CONNECTION w/ Simone Heng, Human Connection Specialist appeared first on Lindsay E. Preston Life & Leadership Coaching.
Love, self-love, relationships.. where the heck do we even begin?! In this episode, we dive deep into the topic of love. Of course, we all want it, we all need it, but how do we actually CULTIVATE a healthy love within ourselves first and within our lives? What is our relationship TO love, the concept, the feeling, and how have our experiences shaped those beliefs? Buckle up, y'all. This one gets real! Share this podcast with three people you love
In this episode, Kate was joined by Mark Groves to discuss self-growth and healing following breakups, separation and divorce. Mark is a Human Connection Specialist, speaker, writer, and motivator. Mark founded Create The Love a platform that guides people to design the life and love they long for, following on from his own rock bottom when his relationship ended. He hosts The Mark Groves Podcast and has a significant following on social media where he shares his insight into relationships. In this episode, Kate and Mark explore how to heal from a breakup or a separation. They also looked at the context of marriage and relationships, including how society perpetuates ‘bad' breakups by reinforcing shame and guilt on those going through them. Mark explained the paradox of not having ‘important' conversations, out of fear of losing that relationship, when in reality, silence often contributes to relationship breakdown. They looked at whether the way people deal with breakups is gendered and how we could do more to help cultivate healthy relationships individually and as a society. They agreed that a relationship ending is not a failure, but rather an opportunity for self-exploration and growth.
Today, I am blessed to have here with me Mark Groves. He is a Human Connection Specialist - an emotional translator, writer, and speaker. Mark is endlessly curious about the human experience and shares what he's learning as he learns it. Mark helps people understand their emotional matrix by mastering themselves through their words. He takes what you think you want, finds out what you want, and gives you the tools to achieve your goals. In this episode, Mark speaks about the importance of authenticity on your journey of healing. Then, Mark dives deep into his past, including the challenging decision to call off his engagement. In society, we place a high value on our relationship status; Mark explains why the most important relationship you should have is with yourself. Plus, if you're in a high-conflict relationship, it could be detrimental to your health. Tune in as we chat about healthy boundaries, learning to love, and how to avoid losing yourself in a relationship. Elizabeth tells us why she says sorry all the time and Emma gives us practical ways to renegotiate relationships at home and at work. Thank you so much for listening and we'd love to hear what boundaries mean for you! (Just don't phone Elizabeth, apparently she *really* hates the phone.) Two best friends. One therapist. The past 2 years (almost to the date) have been a time of extreme polarity, discomfort, and most of all, some of the deepest levels of dissonance we've witnessed in ourselves and society. The stories we've been sold and the truth within us feel completely at odds. Unable to have dialogue, resistant to conflict, afraid to step into nuance, concerned for our wellbeing and our place in society - there's enough to make you never want to ruffle any feathers ever again. But what if you could face the disarray? What if you can lean into the confusion stirring inside of you as the world, your relationships, and your Self are faced with a crumbling of what we think we know?To dance with dissonance is to allow ourselves to expand beyond binaries, identities, labels, and fear of the other.Mark Groves is a Human Connection Specialist, founder of Create the Love and Mine'd and host of the Mark Groves Podcast. Imagine going to college and getting a minor in ‘you!' Well, that's just one of the semi-wild ideas that bubbled up during my conversation with week's guest, Mark Groves. Mark describes himself as a Human Connection Specialist on a mission to help individuals step into their most authentic, effective, loving selves by way of a little bit of tough love and no-BS relationship guidance. Immersing himself and pursuing an education in the world of psychology after his model of life and relationships feel apart, he's become a bridge between the academic and the human, inviting people to explore the good, bad, downright ugly, and beautiful sides of connection. And, given the state of the world these days, we could all use a bit more wisdom around how we show up and relate to others. Mark shares insights, ideas, and strategies about being a better human, living a better life, and understanding how to craft relationships that are truly nourishing with a global community of over a million people on his Create the Love Instagram account, his eponymous podcast, and through a growing library of courses, and programs. What I've always found so powerful about Mark and his work is that he doesn't pull punches. He doesn't hide who he is, what he believes, his irreverence or willingness to poke fun at himself and, really, any other paradigm or system that just doesn't make sense. He is, in many ways, a truth-teller, and we need more of that these days. To me, an actual broken heart is a closed heart. An actual broken heart is one that isn't willing to open up again; it is protective, guarded, and walled which can be important for the healing aspect. If you don't have boundaries, if you've been walked on, if you've experienced trauma abuse, there actually is an important boundary that is the complete individualization of self that doesn't allow in anything as you repair. Then you build up some level of confidence, a relationship with self, and a capacity for self through different modalities such as therapy but then you gently walk back into the world protecting and preserving that wholeness. - Mark Groves Get 15% off your CURED Nutrition order with the code WELLNESSFORCE ---> Get The Morning 21 System: A simple and powerful 21 minute system designed to give you more energy to let go of old weight and live life well. Frances Weller breathwork.io M21 Wellness Guide Wellness Force Community Power Quotes From The Show Healed People Heal People "Our own journey to healing, responsibility, and self is what heals the world. If you go within yourself, you become a leader, and you step fully into yourself then you are hereby a beacon of model behavior for other people. There's a saying that 'hurt people hurt people,' but also 'healed people heal people." - Mark Groves The Child Can Rest, The Adult Is Here "I had this beautiful meditation where I was like, 'The child can rest. The adult is here." I had reached this completion of this initiatory process of really becoming an adult and not letting the kid in me, who wanted to people please and was afraid of being laughed at or not acknowledged, get to me. I realized that those fears were not going to run my life or my relationships or anymore in how I communicate with others." - Mark Groves Healthy Feedback In Relationships "Some people say there's no such thing as healthy shame but I actually disagree. When you learn that a better behavior is available to you, you're going to experience healthy shame. Toxic shame is 'something is wrong with you.' Behavior is important but it's not attached to your worth so if you can allow yourself to open up to feedback from your partners and friends, you can begin to look at how you can be better. I see everything that my partner sees in me as an opportunity to improve as a human being and as a man." - Mark Groves Links From Today's Show Organifi Cured Nutrition Become a Boundaries Badass Do You Mine'd Create The Love 302 Mark Groves Relationships 101 Course with Mark Groves Mark Groves Podcast Paul Chek Rachel Fiori 333 Dr. Kelly Brogan Mark Groves Podcast: Dr. Kelly Brogan - End The War Against Yourself 096 Daniel Schmachtenberger Gangaji Carl Jung Ram Dass Heal Documentary Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B. I was thrilled to have Mark on the show to bring the piece that first connected us to this very topic of the Everyday Legend - a piece he wrote about the ‘Evolved Man’, challenging women that say they want this man if they’re actually ready for him. In the show, we explore mark’s story a what he does. We then start talking about relationship dynamics, how our wounding - our shit - plays out and with that we explore codependency. This is a topic Mark has such a great depth of knowledge in, as well as some practised personal experience (me too). Mark is someone whose content and wisdom I trust wholeheartedly, I have learnt so much from him over the years in the field of relationships and being human, including integrity - something central to this show. A Human Connection Specialist and a great human being, mark brings some brilliant insight and always a light and engaging delivery. Mike’s main lessons/takeaways: Mark always has so much insight into relationships and what I really liked about this conversation was where he dives into how our wounding - the shit we went through that created most of our beliefs about ourselves and our behaviours in relationships - ends up becoming an intense driver for sexual attraction often getting us deep into a place we don’t want to be in. It’s a counter-intuitive piece that mark brings so much sense to. This often being the base for codependency, which Mark breaks down nicely in this episode. “Say for example you’re with someone that is hot and cold. The person hits you up at 1 am - a good sign you’re a booty call. You hook up, and the arousal and sexual connection treats the pain of the abandonment and ejection. So we end up in these cycles, and of course, that’s the best sex right? Of course you do, you have a couple of wounds banging up against each other.” Where to find Mark and his work: Other Resources mentioned Other Ways To Consume this podcast Read transcription iTunes

"Mark Groves is a Human Connection Specialist – an emotional translator, writer, speaker and coach. Mark had always wondered what separated people with amazing relationships from those who had average ones. Why did some relationships maintain bliss for a lifetime, and others… not so much? Why did some people have the ability to lead thousands, and others couldn’t even lead themselves? Mark set out to discover the secrets of those who thrive in love and life so he could become one. His research became his life, and he lives everything he learns and writes about. From what Mark has seen and experienced, how we connect to others will be the single greatest predictor of success in every facet of our lives. Through his work, Mark helps people understand their emotional matrix and how to master themselves and their words. His clients range from individuals and couples, to businesses and leaders." (54:00) In return, the privilege of being chosen should not be just washed away nor taking the other person for granted. The problem with taking your partner for granted and not doing the work just because you're married and have a contract with them. What underlies our connection with ourselves and others? Why do we show up the way we do in our romantic relationships, professional life, friendships, our own health and wellness and more? How do we maintain long term connections that thrive? Mark has a fun, no holds barred, no BS approach to exploring the human condition and the fundamentals of all our human connections. Power Quotes From The Show What To Do When Your Relationship Hits A Wall "Is your partner making you a better human being? If they're not, there are some really good questions you should now ask yourself: Are they making you a worse human being? Do their values relate to your values? Do they have integrity and keep their word? Do you? Those are the questions I ask people when they've hit a wall in the relationship or they're complaining about their partner. The biggest factor of rejoining one's self is choosing yourself for the first time." - Mark Groves Why Anniversaries Aren't A Relationship Success Indicator "We often hear from older generations that people don't take commitment seriously these days. Well, some people don't but some people who have didn't take it seriously or they had side issues back in the day. If we say that people leave relationships too early now, I'd like to put on the table that people stayed far too long in a relationship before. We make relationship length the predictor of relationship success and sure, that's one marker of it but as soon as you know anyone who hates each other who's together, it's kind of eroded the value of that number. Now, we're in this revolution where we seek relationship depth." - Mark Groves Taking Responsibility For Our Wounds "A lot of our wounds are not our fault but they're our responsibility. We might not have been dealt the best hand in life but we can have the mindset that we're going to play these cards well. When we step into that space, then we're empowered." - Mark Groves Links From Today's Show Alan Watts Organifi David Deida Marriage, a History: How Love Conquered Marriage by Stephanie Coontz Caroline Myss Mark Groves Podcast: Making Your Heart Make Sense Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl Viktor Frankl It Didn't Start with You by Mark Wolynn Eckhart Tolle 288 Greg Woodhill 055 Gay & Katie Hendricks When Things Fall Apart by Pema Chödrön Letting Go by David R. "It's important for people to understand that wherever you hold resentment...that's a place where you don't prioritize yourself." - Mark Groves, Ep90. The Monica Kade Podcast In Episode 90 of The Monica Kade Podcast: How to Build A Real & Lasting Relationship, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Mark Groves. He has a specialised interest in the area of Human Connection. He's an author, speaker and sales consultant. Aside from his professional titles, he's just a really cool guy doing some incredible work in the world. I don't say that lightly. I found his work on Instagram—as you'll hear in the episode—and was really moved by the way he writes about relationships. But sitting down to chat with him was another level. If he lived in Australia, I'd totally have him over as a dinner guest. He's intelligent, easy-going and just one of those people you enjoy having a conversation with. No BS, just pure heart. And I like those kind of people. He's in love with science, psychology, and uncovering the mysteries of what makes great relationships work. Speaking of that, he's certain there are no “secrets” when it comes to great relationships. Rather, he believes that all relationships are by design and we are all the architects of what we want. Mark has a Certificate in Applied Positive Psychology and has written for Plenty of Fish, Thought Catalog, Goodmen Project and is the Relationship Columnist for 24 Hours Newspaper. When he's not working with clients you'll find him traveling the globe, playing in the mountains and ocean, or pretty much anything that gets his heart beating in the paradise that is Vancouver, BC. This week I had the honor of chatting with Mark Groves, a Human Connection Specialist, emotional translator, writer, speaker and coach. Mark and I talk about the ins and outs of relationships and he gives some no-BS advice about how we can grow out of unhealthy, toxic patterns, get more in touch with ourself and our needs and move into a space of healthy, interdependent relationships (both romantic and otherwise). Today’s special guest is all the way from Vancouver, Canada. His name is Mark Groves and his area of expertise is Human Connection. As an author and speaker, Mark is in love with uncovering the mysteries of what makes great relationships work. You’ll also hear us discuss: How to navigate the challenging sex conversations (and examples of what to say) What we all need to understand about male sexuality What the most powerful antidote to shame is The purpose of a first date and what questions to ask (and which ones to avoid) Why we settle for less than our deepest desires How to honour your personal standards without making others feel like they aren’t good enough for you, and so much more. Enjoy!
There is a line between self-love and being selfish, and today’s guest, Mark Groves believes that by transitioning your mindset from ‘I have to fit in’ to ‘I am me’, you can start to make the world react to you, instead of you reacting to it. Stressing the importance of communicating your truth, celebrating who you are, and not letting others dictate if your emotions are valid, Mark’s methodology is inspirational and refreshing. Let us know your thoughts on Mark’s tough love and empowerment in the comments on the show notes page! On Today’s Episode How to find balance between opening up to others and self-love The connection between your relationships to people, stress and food Being more mindful of how you interact with your phone and social media Exploring how your decisions elicit reactions from others The unspoken agreements in every relationship you need to be aware of Quotes “There is a line there where you can be so independent that you are not available to love. And the dance really of life is figuring out how to do you both be committed to or integrated in a relationship with another and maintain who you are.” (9:44) “You have to lose yourself to find yourself, you have to experience what is not you to know what is you. And in the human experience that is such a beautiful adventure and you sort of wake up to the juiciness of life, the extremes of feelings.” (13:14) “It's a delicate dance of negotiation and communication, and i think the real key to it is, invite the people to join you, but don't abandon yourself to meet them. Don't shrink yourself to be with someone else… instead say ‘I will continue to rise and be my best self, will you join me?’” (39:40) “There are no negative feelings, they are just feelings! And they are information. And information provides you with opportunity. And if you're not fucking listening you’re going to hurt. And then you are going to take a pill to numb the hurt or eat a lot of sugar or be sedentary or stay in shitty relationships or fuck around in jobs you hate, because that will be the familiar and growth is always scary. Just like losing people is scary, just like not knowing what the fuck is going to happen is scary. But sometimes knowing what's going to happen really hurts too.” (57:41) Resources Mentioned In This Show Mark Groves Follow Mark on Facebook | YouTube | Google+ | Twitter | Instagram | Pinterest Check out the full show notes here!
