Imagine being the General Manager for one of the BEST private clubs in the entire country and refusing to be nominated for an award (that you truly deserve!).   “I don't need it.”   Below are THE TOP 3 things that I learned yesterday about LEADERSHIP from Fred Fung, the General Manager of the Bonita Bay Club in Florida during my visit and training/keynote presentation with his team.   1.YOU NOT ME   Not “my way”, but “our way”.   Carry someone else ahead of you across the finish line.   Authentically put others AHEAD of YOURSELF.   My friend Fred shared this quote by Harry S. Truman  that he lives by and that has changed the trajectory of his entire career.   "It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't care who gets credit".   It is not about him.  Its not about his needs.  He is able to use an approach that I talk about for leaders called “ERASE YOU”.  At work, he puts his employees needs ahead of his own.  He puts the member's needs ahead of his own.  He removes obstacles and barriers to enable others to succeed.  He doesn't need to be in the photo.  He would rather be “anonymous” in his contributions.   Perhaps you've seen the video of the marathon runner who stops short of the finish line to help another runner who can barely stand.  This gentleman carries the weak runner ahead of him, so that the other person can finish ahead of himself.   Literally putting “others ahead of yourself.”.   2. CARE DEEPLY   “Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care”- Theodore Roosevelt   CARE ABOUT As part of his role, he is often required to make massive decisions within minutes.  The influencers for those decisions always remains most heavy for OTHERS.    After conducting a KEYNOTE/TRAINING SESSION for his team, I began to understand even more the impact of his approach.   “This is the BEST job I've ever had.  I've been here for 20+ years, and everyday I'm able and encouraged to learn more, to challenge myself, and even do more.”   Fred celebrates his team.  Knows every employee by name and is careful to inject something personal about them when he introduces me.  “Hugh is responsible for 140 golf instructors”. “Jean has been here for years, always works with a smile, and is so good at making salads that there is one named after him on the menu.”  “Robert loves teaching new servers how to do their jobs better, and he won a car years ago by making a half-court shot at a competition.”     3. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THE PODCAST NOW FOR TIP #3   More about: FREDERICK FUNG, CEO and General Manager, Bonita Bay Club   Fred started with Bonita Bay Club in 2010, departed in 2017, and re-joined in 2019. In the interim, Fred was the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Charlotte Country Club, a Top 10 ranked Platinum Club of America and a Top 50 ranked Platinum Club of the World. With 35 years of hospitality leadership experience, Fred spent twenty years of his career in the luxury hotel sector, highlighted by a 7-year tenure with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, opening their triple (hotel, restaurant, and spa) 5-Star property in Miami. In 2007, he transitioned to private club management with Turnberry Isle, Fisher Island, and joined Bonita Bay Club immediately following its turnover from developer to member owned.   Bonita Bay Club is Florida's largest member-owned private club golf facility. As Chief Executive Officer, Fred is responsible for the operational and strategic oversight of two campuses, five golf courses, 16 tennis courts, 15 pickleball courts, a 60,000 square foot Lifestyle Center, six restaurants, croquet, bocce, a resort style pool, and serving 4000 Members and 600 staff. https://bonitabayclub.net More podcasts available at https://bartaberkey.com/podcast To contact Bart for SPEAKING OR TRAINING ENGAGEMENTS; bart@mostpeopledont.com

Struggling with chronic or auto-immune health issues? They are triggered by inflammation which can be reduced with simple diet and lifestyle changes according to Dr. Sunil Pai. In this podcast he shares his insights from his best seller book- An Inflammation Nation: The Definitive 10-step Guide to Preventing, Treating and Reversing All Diseases Through Diet, Lifestyle and the Use of Natural Anti-Inflammatories. He is internationally recognized expert in Integrative Medicine, a health activist/influencer and thought leader in the wellness industry. Dr. Pai is also the founder of House of Sanjevani Integrative Medicine Health & Lifestyle Center located in Albuquerque. Key Questions answered and highlights: -------------------------------------------------------- 01:56 1. What inspired you to write a book about inflammation? - There is a connection between Inflammation and Chronic Disease 02:39 2. Is inflammation the root cause of all disease? - It's a triggering mechanism to make disease worse - It triggers an inflammatory response - The root word Flam means Fire. In simpler terms, it is the "itis" at the end of your issue that indicates its inflammation. For example for someone who has red eyes due to allergy, we call it conjunctivitis. Arthritis is another example. -Look at the underlying triggering mechanism of your inflammation - Once you stop conventional medicine, patients will have their symptoms flaring again. 04:32 3. What is inflammation? - Inflammation is a set of biological, cellular and immunological responses that are not always bad. - There are hundreds of inflammatory response. - The inflammation is controlled by your immune system. - Your immune system is your military, airforce, marines of your body. They fight, fix and repair. - The goal is not to have too much inflammation and you don't want to have any inflammation. You have to have some. - Now, people are in a chronic state due to their diet, lifestyle and environment. - One of the misconceptions we have with the conventional approach is that we usually take medications that makes the patient's inflammation go to zero. - Although their symptoms will go down, it puts them at higher risk with cancer and other chronic disease. - You can't have none! Otherwise you will have infections. The key is to find what are those triggers in your diet, lifestyle and environment, which is covered in An Inflammation Nation For rest of the insights and takeaways from the show, click this link! >> https://www.healerpedia.com/podcasts/a-plant-based-diet-to-reverse-chronic-disease-with-dr-sunil-pai-536

From a kitchen experiment to a thriving, international company, all developed from one purpose.  Smoothie King first introduced the nutritional fresh-blended smoothie in 1973 when founder Steve Kuhnau began experimenting with mixing real fruit, nutrients and proteins in a blender at home. Soon enough, his concoctions began to have a positive impact on his health, which spawned the creation of the first Smoothie King. Launching Smoothie King Franchising By 1989, Smoothie King became the first smoothie franchise in the United States. Since then, the brand has expanded its reign with each "Lifestyle Center" also offering healthy retail product solutions in sport beverages, energy bars, healthy snacks, vitamin supplements, herbs, minerals, and other sports nutrition products. SK USA, Inc. Purchases Smoothie King In July 2012, Smoothie King co-founders Steve and Cindy Kuhnau sold controlling interest of the Louisiana-based company to SK USA, Inc., headed by CEO Wan Kim, a successful franchisee with more than 100 stores throughout South Korea. Smoothie King Ranked #1 by Entrepreneur Magazine In 2016, Smoothie King was ranked the #1 Juice Bar Franchise on Entrepreneur Magazine's Annual Franchise 500 list - marking the 23rd year the brand has occupied the number one spot and #92 overall. The ranking is primarily based upon financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of system.  We are meeting with Chad Tramuta of Smoothie King.  In part 2, we will discuss what every entrepreneur needs to know before buying a franchise.  We are going to play a clip from our popular Great Quotes in Franchising podcast.

In order to design an immersive, next generation facility that can help people rejuvenate, re-contextualize their lives, align more closely with their purpose, and rediscover the richness of the human experience, you need to cover a lot of ground.  This week’s guest, Jim Grapek, covers a lot of ground – ground that is being reflected in his start-up, The Pavilion: A stunning, 21st century lifestyle center “delivering the best that science and humanity has to offer, to enable people to live healthier, happier, and richer lives.”  Part of Jim’s mission: To develop a better way to practice healthcare, in part based around the ability of the latest, bio-resonance biofeedback devices and genomics testing to assess health stressors before they become symptomatic. Along with his medical partner, Dr. Mark McClure of National Integrated Health Associates  http://www.nihadc.com/, one of the largest integrative practices on the East Coast, they will be introducing ‘version 1.0’ of American New Medicine into their practice next month.  Jim’s skill sets include restaurant operator, award winning producer, certified biofeedback practitioner, martial arts practitioner (black belt), and metaphysician (with advanced BioGeometry skills). Jim says he is driven by his inner voice and passion – though he adds that a daylight UFO encounter as a teen might also have something to do with it.  Jim earned his master’s in business from Cornell’s renowned Hotel School, and is always on the lookout for like-minded partners to help take The Pavilion to the next level. It is not something that can be talked about as much as it can be experienced, it's not something that can be read about as much as it can be experienced, it's not something that can be watched as much as it can be experienced. Experience is over all things so podcasts of this nature open doorways, they are guides, books, videos, but you must take the opportunity for yourself to sink into the space of mindfulness. and Get Real Skinny The Full Plate Diet is an incredibly cool book. And because you're a friend of Wizard Academy, you can have a no-charge advance copy. That's right. No charge. Nada. Zero. Zip. The publisher – Wizard Academy board member Ray Bard of Bard Press – is giving away 20,000 pre-release copies to trigger a nationwide buzz. The Full Plate Diet will be in every bookstore in America in January but you can have your advance copy today. It's even okay to tell your friends how they can get a no-charge copy, too. I highly recommend it. FLASHBACK: A young man starts a newspaper that becomes extremely successful. He sells the company and then he dies. His last will and testament stipulates that the money – a mountain of it – is to launch a non-profit organization whose only mission will be to create a healthier, happier, slimmer America. The man's dying wish became the Lifestyle Center of America. Its board of directors built a multi-million dollar medical facility and hired the Who's Who list of medical research doctors in America. The chairman of the board is Dr. House. I'm not making this up. The first thing the medical marvels created was a diet that reverses Type 2 diabetes. But that didn't fulfill their mission. The newspaper mogul's dream was to touch every American, not just diabetics. So the Lifestyle Center contacted Corrine Taylor and mailed her some money to set up a meeting with me. My team and I spent a day talking with the Lifestyle Center people and then agreed to work with them. That was a little more than a year ago. Toward the end of the day my 290-pound media analyst, Joe Hamilton, asked, “Would the diet you talked about work for someone who isn't diabetic?” The doctors said, “Absolutely. It's how human beings were meant to eat.” A few days later I told Ray Bard what the doctors had said. He seemed mildly interested. And I mentioned it to a couple of my out-of-town partners. A couple of months later I was pouring a cup of coffee when Joe Hamilton walked into the room. I looked up and said, “Joe, you're losing weight.” Joe said, “I've been doing what those doctors talked about and I've lost 35 pounds.” By the end of that year, Joe had lost 90 pounds. No exercise. And he hasn't gained a bit of it back. (See before-and-after photos of Joe at the bottom of this page.) A couple of weeks after I saw Joe Hamilton I saw Ray Bard and he had never looked better. “Roy, I did what you said those doctors talked about and I've dropped 30 pounds. I'd like to meet them.” Then, at the partner meeting, one of the partners I'd told about the diet said he had done what I described and lost 20 pounds. The other partner had lost 24. The Full Plate Diet is not a deprivation diet. There's nothing you “can't have.” And you'll never go hungry. I use the Monday Morning Memo to promote classes at Wizard Academy, a 501c3 https://wizardacademy.org/scripts/openExtra.asp?extra=1 (nontraditional business school), but I never use the memo to sell things and I'm not selling you anything today. But you really ought to look into this diet. You can meet 3 of the doctors in a fun, online video produced by Sunpop Studios and request your no-charge advance copy of the Full Plate Diet at http://www.fullplatedietbeta.org/ (FullPlateDietBeta.org) Next week I'm going to tell you a true story that will blow your mind. Your mind will be blown. You'll be walking into walls. Boy Scouts will have to hold your hand when you cross the street. After hearing this story you'll need to lay down and put a cold rag on your head. The story begins in 1519 and it involves Wizard Academy. And you. Roy H. Williams
