Today, Allie's dad is here to give us the latest on Trump's tariffs and the escalating tensions online. Is a trade war on the horizon, or is Trump's plan to eliminate our trade deficit actually working? And is Kevin O'Leary right in saying that we should quadruple our tariffs on China? Ron is here to answer all of our pressing questions, and he gives some free advice on how much people should worry about the stock market. And we also talk about the recent American Girl post celebrating the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Fitr as part of its "Cultural Celebrations" outfit line. Today, we're talking to Allie's dad, Ron Simmons, about the recent stock market drop and whether it has anything to do with Trump's tariffs. And are signs actually pointing to a recession, or is the media overplaying things like normal? We also talk about the continuing resolution currently on the Senate floor to extend Congress' budget to prevent a government shutdown and why Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) opposes it. And we get a little into the Texas bills aiming to adopt school choice for families rather than forcing them to send their children into the jaws of the public school system. We also go over Trump's executive order that would end birthright citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants. And, of course, the New York Times suddenly acknowledges that unborn children are, in fact, children but only for "undocumented women." We also talk about the viral White House press conference where Larry Ellison, Oracle's chief technology officer, talked about using AI to develop mRNA vaccines for cancer treatment and why people are so mad about it. How do you move forward when it would be easier to stay where you are and die? This is the question that I ask, and attempt to answer, every week on The March or Die Show as we discuss principles for moving forward when it feels like your world is falling apart. That is why I am excited to share this week's interview and guest with you. Today I am honored to interview Author, Texas State Representative, and Business owner Ron Simmons. Ron has a long resume of moving forward in life and business, but he also has a gift for relating his own "lessons learned" to the rest of us. Through his book, "LIfe Lessons From a Little Red Wagon '', he lays out a path to move forward regardless of where you may find yourself in life. In this interview we talk about marriage, parenting, and always taking the next uncomfortable step. Today's show will be an encouragement and help to you as it was to me. Disney's Country Bear Jamboree has a much longer history than many people realize. What's next for the country bears in 2024, plus Disney Imagineering is slowly slipping further away from Walt Disney's approach to park theming. The Next Chapter in the Long History of Country Bear JamboreeCountry Bear Jamboree will be closing for a complete overhaul on January 27 and will re-open in the summer (no specific month yet) as the all-new Country Bear Musical Jamboree. As first announced at Destination D23 last summer, the Country Bears will return with a new show that pays tribute to the Opry style shows of Nashville. Disney promises quite a few Easter eggs throughout the show (including a familiar tune), as the bears sing new and reinterpreted Disney songs in different country music genres.Country Bear Jamboree has a long and interesting history. Walt Disney originally conceived the Country Bears concept in the 1960s to be part of the grandiose Mineral King Ski Resort project in California. This, of course, was never actually built. But the Country Bears idea was revived for Walt Disney World where it became one of the most popular marquee attractions when the Magic Kingdom opened in 1971.Editorial Rant: Current Disney Imagineers Continue to Stray Further from Walt Disney and Closer to UniversalOf interesting note in the Disney news story is that Disney continues to refer to this area -- including Tiana's Bayou Adventure -- as Frontierland. So, unfortunately, Disney Imagineers are ignoring trademark Disney Parks theming and slipping further towards a Universal type of fragmented-not-too-concerned-with-lands approach to design. I have often said that the current group of Imagineers is among the worst in Walt Disney World history, so hopefully at some point the sloppy Imagineering can be cleaned up and returned to earlier Disney standards.A lazy Imagineer is not a good Imagineer. So Bob Iger, please take a look at the lack of basic creative spark and ingenuity in your current Disney Imagineering Department.--Disneyland Lunar New Year Foodie GuideTop Food Picks from the 2024 Lunar New Year Event at Disney California AdventureFrom January 23 to February 18, the Lunar New Year Festival will turn Disney California Adventure Park into a vibrant destination with characters, entertainment, festive décor, merchandise and food. Whereas Walt Disney World and EPCOT basically phoned it in with a very uninspired food offering for the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure have knocked it out of the park with one of the best foodie guides we've seen in awhile.Lunar New Year Festival MarketplacesBamboo Blessings (Available Jan. 23 through Feb. 18) Strawberry Milk Tea Macaron: Strawberry buttercream with milk tea center (New) Mickey-shaped Hot Dog Bun: Brioche-style Mickey-shaped bun stuffed with hot dog and finished with sesame seeds and scallionsTaro Vietnamese-style Iced Coffee: Joffrey's Coffee & Tea Co. In this episode of Created for This, I'm talking with Ron Simmons who served as a state representative, CEO of a wealth management company, and is a father and grandfather.   We're talking about Ron Simmons' book Life Lessons from the Little Red Wagon.   Intentionality - why has it been so important in your life, and why should it be important for others? If you don't know where you're going, you'll be surprised when you get there. You have to have an idea of where you're going so you can get there.   Determining the next step and getting uncomfortable - It's not a matter of not knowing what the step is, it's a matter of taking the next step. Ron gives a few steps to help you do this.   A lot of times, the fear of failure is greater than the joy of success.   How Ron's view of Jesus helps him deal with the fear of failure.    How to overcome perfectionism and move forward. We have to purposefully find people who help us and push us to action instead of staying stuck in inaction.   Ron's number one piece of advice for business owners: stick with your idea instead of moving on to the next idea too quickly. Secondly, don't make your business about you. Make it so you can sell it to others or pass it on to your children.   Listening to the Bible is how Ron reads through his Bible (pray.com). Listening to the Bible counts as Bible reading.   Making room for rest and relaxation. John Maxwell says you're cheating yourself if you don't take time to rest. Find what rejuvenates you.   Referenced in the episode: Life Lessons from the Little Red Wagon by Ron Simmons Thinking for a Change by John Maxwell Prayer app - pray.com Ron's email: ron@ronsimmons.com   About Ron Simmons  The Honorable Ron Simmons served three terms in the Texas House of Representatives. It's the lure of the safe, comfortable path that threatens to keep us stuck in a rut of fear and negativity, speeding along with no clear destination, or passively catching a ride instead of taking initiative and action.RESOURCES:RonSimmons.comLife Lessons from the Little Red Wagon: 15 Ways to Take Charge and Create a Path to SuccessContact Mike Hatch: mhatch@clchq.orgOrder Mike's book, Manhood: Empowered by the Light of the GospelJoin the Empowered Manhood Facebook GroupCLC Website: https://www.clchq.org/Contact Chris Bolinger: https://chrisbolinger.com/author/Chris' Devotionals:Daily Strength for Men: A 365-Day Devotional52 Weeks of Strength for Men

In 1988, Oprah Winfrey revealed on her hugely popular talk show that she'd shed 67 pounds, which she illustrated to her audience by wheeling out a little red wagon full of exactly that much animal fat. That show, the highest-rated of her 25-year run, would kickstart a cycle of speculation about this wildly successful woman's body that would endure for decades. In this episode, Susie and Jess explore why Oprah's weight struggles have been the subject of so much fascination, her recent special that touches on that scrutiny, the rise of Ozempic and the pressure women feel to be perfect. Key takeaways from this lesson: Relationships help us to define who we are and what we can become Over time, people come to share reciprocally, similar attitudes towards each other “People say that we are all seeking the meaning of life ... Welcome to March 29th, 2023 on the National Day Calendar. Today we celebrate a right of passage and the Silver State. If you never had a Radio Flyer little red wagon as a kid, then you have missed out on something truly American, hauling stuff around. When we grow up we buy trucks and let our hair blow in the breeze. Our dogs ride shotgun with their noses out the window. And the back is full of gear for our next great adventure. This all starts with our first set of wheels, and anyone who sees a kid at the park pulling his version of the important stuff knows it. There goes an entrepreneur, an engineer, the next great lemonade stand! Keep your eyes open for this right of passage. It's a good one and it's bound to pull on your heart strings. On National Little Red Wagon Day, you can bet these kids hauling stuff around are going some place good. Nevada is well known for its casinos and tourist attractions, but it’s also home to something not nearly as lively. Ghost towns. Because of its mining history, the state has over 600 of them. One of the most interesting is Berlin, Nevada. Not only will you find the remains of a mining community, with abandoned buildings and a cemetery, but also something much much older. The remains of Ichthyosaurs, aquatic dinosaurs that lived in the oceans covering the state 225 million years ago. The fossils are on display in the museum at the state park. On National Nevada Day, we celebrate the Silver State and its long standing history. I’m Anna Devere and I’m Marlo Anderson. Thanks for joining us as we Celebrate Every Day. Even before she co-founded the New Hampshire Theatre Project 35 years ago, she and other performance artists had formed Kitchen Sink Mime and The Little Red Wagon children's production troupe. Her talents in story-telling, acting, and performing have been a constant that has served the greater good of the community.

One thing I've wanted to do for a while is do Hi-Performance Heritage Mini Episodes called Quick History. These will be shorter episodes, but I think it would be fun to do them because it might afford me the time to provide more episodes per month. So we are going to experiment in the next few episodes and highlight the people and Mopars that have helped to shape the Hi-Performance Heritage and history of Mopars. No fluff, just facts. There is just so much to cover in the world of Mopar that this might be the way to cover more of Mopar history more often. On this first installment of Hi-Performance Heritage: Quick History we are going to talk about The Dodge Little Red Wagon.
